Yes there is always a risk that is why i choose to use a cold wallet, but the hot wallet is on your computer just like all other hot wallets, but it is with the Epic engine so i share your same concerns.

The info I am working on comes from Aephia's SAge guide: The team is configuring the game’s parameters so that up to 25% of the map’s sectors contain an SDU at any given time. If an SDU is found, that sector won’t spawn another batch for at least 2 minutes. Neither your fleet nor someone else’s will be able to find an SDU deposit during that time.

The team will repeatedly spawn a fixed quantity of new SDUs (randomly) on the map as the game is going. They have not disclosed the exact time period between respawns. For reference: In Escape Velocity, this happened every minute.

Another global limitation that is in place is that the game does not allow for more than 1500 SDUs to be found every minute.

Still leaves a lot of questions

That's an older version. They have changed how it works since that guide was released. It used to be a roughly 25% for a SDU to be in a sector with a 2 minute cooldown. Now each sector has a "base" chance to find an SDU that goes up over time until it reaches a maximum. There are "cosmic currents" that create moving hotspots where the chances are significantly higher. As a rule, you're generally going to see better chances closer to the middle and nearly negligible chances close to the CSS. A good resources is atlas.eveeye .com. Here's a screenshot that shows what the current scan probabilities were at the moment of the snapshot. Those "hotspots" will move over time, so it won't always look like this.

I guess that shot is zoomed out too far for you to actually be able to see the percentages, but the colors work like you would expect a heatmap to look for places that are "hot" or "cold".

Give it some time, if it is the first time you are buying this particular nft it will first need to create the token account for it. This is an additional step and might take some time. So CTRL + F5 to refresh - try again but wait until you see an approval. Check your transaction history to confirm that both the token creation and the claim stake purchase were succesfull

btw when the claim stake tier 1 hit 50 bucks, I take my eyes from the market for a couple of days and it is up again

What are you currently doing in labs? It really depends on what you have at your disposal as ships/fleets - currently SDU scanning is the way to go with xxSmall and xSmall ships. Mining is usually better for the mining ships and the larger ones

keep in mind that there are a few things that you need to learn if you want to be optimal on scanning - otherwise you might not be profitable doing it

also this you have some entry cost everything is a solana txn 0.000005, expect solana token account creation, these are 0.02, but you get the token accounts back as soon you close them, its an automated process, so as soon you interact with any asset it creates token accounts, same goes for fleets and cargo
so each time you transport or mine things, cargo token accounts get created for your fleet these usually get closed when you unload, but when you disband a fleet a message will pop up in the starbase that you have open cargo accounts when you press it you get the solana token/renting account fees back

P.S. if it is your first try trying labs - the initial cost for "rent" when creating token accounts is something to consider. You will be charged some Sol when creating fleet and cargo for that fleet. But keep in mind that these are refunded when you disband. The actual costs comes from tx fees. So it can look like your are spending a lot on SOL initially but this is mostly for the "rent" accounts

Videos on scanning might be a bit outdated because there were a lot of changes on how scanning works in the past 3 months. Make sure you watch these who are no older than a month otherwise they might confuse you even more.

Best tool for SDU scanning right now is the interactive map from Eveeye - here is a link with SDU chance heat map: https://atlas.eveeye.com/?m=Galia Expanse&o=nodeout_blk,con_none,etag_none,sub_sector,node_sov,sector_ws_scan_p,tag_none,dark
Make sure to have it running when you go for scanning so you know where the best tiles are - you want to scan more towards the middle of the map for best chance to get them

Short guide for making a scan fleet - ideal is 10 size ships for the whole fleet. That means you get something like 10x ships xxSmall ( xxSmall ship is size 1) or maybe 1x ship xSmall + 8 xxSmall ( xSmall is size 2 )

When you get a hit and find some SDUs - wait 2 min so that tile which you are scanning goes back to its full chance % ( it goes to 0 when you find some then regenerates over 2 min )

It really depends on what ships you have right now - if you share I can give you some ideas on what you can do with them at the moment. Some ships have special abilities like the Miners and the DataRunners

Star Atlas is not a free to play game. You need to purchase the cheapest ship available and stake it to play.

Yeah that is a great choice. In SAGE you probably need more than one ship to make it worthwhile because it a strategic warfare and economic game.

Also remember that SA is still in pre-alpha so the game feature are still being developed.

I suggest make a request for a key. You will get access to the UE5 version without making a purchase even though I would recommend to buy your own entry level ship. It is a great feeling to fly around in your vehicle.

You will be able to play in the fps experimental mode and do the racing in the Showroom. The new version will be released soon that has combat racing. Really looking forward to that.

Yeah, I have seen some complains regarding that issue - if I am not mistaken the error was related to insufficient VRAM/RAM . What GPU and how much system RAM do you have?

How much ram does your computer have? I have 32GB ram and I can see that during loading of inventory the game sometimes spikes to 14-16GB of usage in task manager. So if you have only 16GB ram and you have a bunch of other stuff opened on your computer it could be that the game crashes because it doesn't have enough RAM to load all the stuff.

Maybe pull out a task manager and see if it does the same for you. You can also go into the game settings before trying to open the inventory and lower the resolution to windowed 720p ( lowest possible ) and set the graphic settings to low as possible also for the test

Do not accept DM from anyone. The issue with polis claim is related to the network. team is working on it. meanwhile just try multiple time. I usually get my claim in 3-4 tries. Also use Phantom.

Hi, Council RFR is a way to make Atlas while playing sage:

1. You can craft the RFR in Sage Labs
2. You can transfer it to your wallet and sell on the marketplace to Star Atlas team

Its intended purpose is to provide a means of making Atlas when playing Sage Labs, no other utility than that is intended as far as I know.

It is intended to stay until we have the LP system in Starbased which will be another way of obtaining Atlas while playin Sage/Starbased

It was introduces along with reduction of Atlas emission in Faction Fleet ( SCORE ) in order to encourage players to move to a more active gameplay in Sage Labs.

If yes the issue is probably that you closed your STAKES account
To reopen one you can open a buy order in the marketplace for a min amount like 1 ATLAS or USDC for the stake you want to withdraw and you should be able to withdraw it

I have noticed in v3 that I have a crafting session that still has over 500 hours to go (it's been a month so far I think) it started at something like 1640 hours
