SOL is the coin that allows you to do transactions on the blockchain. Tiny fee to function. Little bit of upfront cost to pay for storage. ATLAS is just like gold in WoW or any other MMO.

The only difference between this and a regular game is you own these assets and can exit any time you want. Imagine playing WoW -> leveling a character and realizing you don't really enjoy the game. Normally all your progress is wasted. Here if you exit you at least get SOMETHING back.

I know the media/some social media paints a picture of everything crypto is a scam(a lot of things are just scams) but this is about ownership of your own assets. I'm sure some other lads can explain it a lot better than me. I wish you the best. If you manage to spin up a wallet dm me and I'll send you a ship or 2 to test out.

It's not hard, confusing, or at all complicated. It is, however, extremely annoying to set up, and quite frankly, risky business. I remember the good old days of gaming, where you'd spend a set amount of money and you got EVERYTHING the game offered. No microtransactions, no DLCs, no godforsaken battlepasses, just the full game you spent your hard-earned money on. Money grubbers have absolutely ruined the gaming industry with their greed. So, in conclusion, I think I'll be waiting to try this game out until it stops using cryptocurrency as it's ONLY way to access it. It's fine if you want it as an option, but seriously, give us another option.

Yes, it is possible to install the Epic Games version of Star Atlas ShowRoom on an external drive. During the installation process, you can choose the location where you want to install the game. Simply select your external drive as the installation location and the game will be installed there. However, keep in mind that the game may run slower if it is installed on an external drive compared to an internal drive.

This is just how I operate, so not financial advise. But I tend to just do everything with SOL from my wallet. Once I get SOL in there, I can convert to ATLAS or USDC from the in wallet converter. Makes life easier to just worry about getting SOL and sending it to your wallet.

To your concern on your Phantom wallet being used in the showroom, note that nothing is exported out from the showroom game. The private key is stored locally on your machine.

As for moving your ships that are enlisted on faction fleet, the loyalty points has very minimal, to an extent, no value whatsoever in the gameplay. So if you want to create a new wallet in the showroom, you can transfer some of your ships there without losing anything. If that option still doesn't work for you, you can use the default ship in the showroom if you want to try and explore the game.

These are valid points but have been addressed a number of times by the team already. You can ask other community members for their advice. Ultimately, it's your decision.

You are welcome to create a new wallet for usage in UE, or wait for Ledger support (coming very soon). The keys/seed are encrypted and stored fully locally, never transferred over the web.

Correct, you can create any wallet you want for showroom. You will be able to fly rotation ships and the floyd liner.

You'd have to install the wallet software and import your private key or seed phrase

Hi, When visiting the showroom the avatar is allways moving, ie, I´m not able to just stand still. Also, by default, ie, if not permanently corrected the avatar will lower the line of sight and look down. To finish I'm not able using the UP/DOWN keys to change between first and third person. When Staking a ship with Faction Fleet do you loose control of your NFT? Does the NFT leave your Wallet?

You don't lose control over your nft, because you can withdraw it whenever you want. It works like any stake, you block your token for a reward and when you want, you take it out, because there is no cooldown

If the Ship is no longer in my Wallet i don't really have control of it right, Its like having your tokens on a CEX (not your keys not your crypto)? Even on SolScan it shows that the Ship has been transferd out of the Wallet. So now its a trust game.

You do not get an airdrop anymore. That ended quite sometime ago. However, to answer your question, the items sold by the SA team are the VWAP. It is the origination price of the asset you are purchasing. Everything else is what I would call current value. What ships are buying and selling for in p2p

I think Charles is good for the industry, I liked the cardano network because its very secure and staking rewards every 5:th day, staking right from the blockchain very secure, nobody able to grab your Ada. But that was it. No more use case. In solana network I lost 10k within two swaps, using Raydium 1,5 years ago, it still hurts, thats why I stayed away from Solana network all bear market. In my opinion Cardano team produce quality, but to damn slow. I buy in later when Solana and Cardano will have a cross bridge between them or something in the future.🚀

From what I have learned from a question asked long ago is that you you will be able to transport claim stake one tier smaller than the ship. large cargo ship will cary T5. However this may have changed. Also my further questions pointed out that these can be manufactured/upgraded locally. Therefore a T1 claim stake can be upgraded to T2 if the upgrade requirements are met. For example enough adjoining T1 are available that be acquired and combined with the existing T1. The requirement would be slot available and then manufacturing/upgrading of the claim stake. This may only mean upgrading of the central building and you can later upgrade the other buildings such as power station etc.

Hello I'm confused about the new r4 system. It seems there is no where nearly enough r4 for the amount of existing ships. its now pointless to refill ships as the return is barely positive if at all with current player r4 prices.

I spent about 100k usdc on ships at launch (now worth about 30k) so it's quite a big fleet.

Am I right is saying I now need to spend another 2-3k usdc to buy enough claim stakes to have the fleet earning atlas again and self sustained? The payback period on the claim stakes also seems incredibly long.

for the star atlas website you might need to reset the connection/vpn and do a hard refresh ctrl+f5

Yeah @worldly barn marketplace is kind of broken, was trying to sell an opal jet to one of the buyers orders and it just didn't do anything
