Ruined Forts I think should be used sparingly, not every single fort in a province is ruined/abandoned
Speaking of temples the Imperial cult strangely vanished after MW. What happened to them
Also the Empire actually having issues ruling its provinces that the Stormcloaks could take issue with. So where's the Nords having issues with Cyrodilic rule? Because at the moment TES5 reads that they would be fine without the Thalmor which feels off for just about any government tbh.
Imperial Cult is the missionary arm I guess after Bruce Neismith cut the Nordic Pantheon there's was no need for Missionaries though with how NPCs talk the Nordic pantheon remnants is still around.
Can we get storms besides rain? Like hail? Slow-falling glowing orbs that illuminate the night on occasion?
Pretty please
And just wondering if we'll see class warfare (rich, poor, billionaire) in the next game. Along with the possibility of seeing the Thalmor inflict greater economic strain upon the rest of Tamriel.
Hm. I wonder if it's possible to mod the BGS developers into the next game as NPCs (maybe even some as a mini-boss) with their personalities and own role/position to play in the game world. Or even as a guild with their own questline.
Skyrim makes me play morrowind instead
Technically its true, Aldmer do need more elaboration now with the Thalmor being relevant. I also think its kinda dumb they're no oppositon despite us being told they wiped it out. Generally oppression creates resistence.
Human centric for that matter. Or at least try and make a lil less familiar versions of them.
thars what i said
men and mer not men women
...also men centric
but what u said as well, my ramblings about tropes in video games aside i find it boring as hell when every setting is 'humans are the Main Race and elves and gnomes n stuff are like rare or dying out or ancient or live in alienages' which is why i like D&D because theres so many places that arent ruled by just humans
...Elves aren't even rare... They have like 3 variations. High Elves, Wood Elves and Dark Elves. There was Snow Elves but......we know how that ended
well i meant in general among the fantasy genre but also tbf in TES we're -always- in a human province
we be in hidin frfr
im bored of the generic colonizer or brutish cultures i want weird stuff again
yeah honestly, i love when fantasy settings have other races as primary to plotpoints, humanity being central to the majority of central themes feels so... narcissistic of us to presume that in every reality, every fantasy world, we must be central to the fate of the cosmos. it applies too to TES imho.
the dunmer had a delicious cultural split that we can see influenced by irl things, a story between ashlander tribal folk and civilized house mer, the split that caused it and how it shapes them
nords and imperials are relatively bland in their games
i would love if tes6 was set in elsweyr or summerset or valenwood personally, but it wont be. it'll be humans, with orc tribes in the hills, elves being racially profiled by the local humans and an imperialized pantheon as the only real 'godly' influence
here is how akatosh shows up as akatosh specifically and prioritizes a random race of humans who didnt like him originally
also all our games will be generic imperial faith focused :P
at least some armor designs in games resemble intended origins (morrowind ebony is imperial design while skyrim ebony is dunmer design)
a funny example of a setting that did a good job of escaping the whole 'human centric' stuff is adventure time, where most humans are dead up until the end of the show where we find out there was a hidden colony of em
honestly eso has the right system: materials and motifs
a basic color swap indicating metal material would be easy and cool
dips Dyno in acid
ah dammit i didnt even see where i said something wrong
if it's redguard post 4e they're going to be extremely prejudiced towards altmer sadly
but they deserve having their culture explored
and not just redguard with dog crap imperial faith
give me tu'whacca! give me tall papa! give me satakal! i dont even like redguards or tes humans and they deserve that goodness
i mean they dont have to be central to the plot, i just want to get to see some of the culture. give us a quest where we're hunting relics of the hoonding or something idk, give us ANYTHING that delves deeper. but we all know that we're not getting that, we're getting imperialized humans.
in fact u know what, i'd even take more druid stuff with the bretons (i did not care for the fire island or whatever stuff from eso)
i dont like the two devs who pushed for the simplification and effectively babying of tes tbh
Couldn't of said it better.
the neat additions for jephre/yffre are welcome imo but the dlcs didnt hit
look i dont entirely dislike the idea of focusing the setting down into the location we're in and focusing on one or two races' lore but they went too far with it in skyrim
thats what i meant
i dont like nords
but they deserved better
nord and imperial design irk me because they generally feel like if a personality type defined a race and it seems poor choice
No human slander, boys....and girls. Or I'll summon terical.
Jokes aside. I know what I want from Imperials(the very basic human "race" option). and something something Empire related but It might be too spicy.
Noo wait till im free to summon Terical. Gotta make some popcorn for that
if we're slandering humans especially imps just dont let the lich hear us /lh
I'll be nice, the humans in TES are interesting, when they are undead.
Lets talk about elder scrolls worst class and why. Morrowind, oblivion, skyrim. It's not a healer it's the thief.
ES6 taking so long it makes you feel this old:
The worst class is all of them.
Because Classes are a bad mechanic.
Classes work as an idea to expand the magic of the world. It's more the player being stuck with one that's an issue tbh.
TES has been terrible with magic and ESO used classes to expand on magic.
Like my namesake who went from Paladin to Death Knight/Oathbreaker due to an event that happened during the game but TES can't really do anything like that.
Oh and yes, if they're gonna have a big war battle somewhere in the main questline of TES6. It'd be cool to experience it with the mother of all storms appear during the middle of it. Like a Cat 5 hurricane. I have no idea if there is any sense of weather tracking in TES lore. But if so, just have the Thalmor conjure up an unnatural one, or I guess thru Shehai possibly.
Could have similar storm and big wave effects out at sea.
A career, or school of training, is not a Class.
In the sense of fantasy tropes(Warriors Mages etc etc) for lore yes I agree. Gameplay...should be a bit more free(Even if I have grown up with strict class systems >.>)
The primary problem I see with traditional RPG classes is that Skyrim isn't a party based RPG. It's focused on you and you alone. You have to be able to do everything if you want to experience all of the content.
I see no problem with something like Starfield's backgrounds or Dark Souls' starting classes, though. They start you out but don't constrain you going forward.
Honestly i hope you get to take atleast two companions with you next game like Bioware games
Starfield already has bits of that. You can take all the companions on ship and they have banter in between travels
Do that but in normal on foot gameplay as well
anyone on xbox have a build with a pipe organ I can look at?
Can someone explain is there new elder scrolls online content free now
This is the Bethesda Game Srudios Discord, developers of the single-player Elder Scrolls games. Elder Scrolls Online was developed by ZeniMax Online. Feel free to post any comments or questions you might have concerning ESO on their forums. You can find their forums here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en
it kind of is
Nah. Classes are more restrictive and deterministic than those.
Hi
Srudios haha
I have an Issue now. Not happy. If I heavy attack alone, No Misses, However if I heavy attack in between firing off other skills. 2/3rds are missed??/ What is this mess!!! And this is standing still at a dummy!
What are you talking about granny
They have nerfed when using heavy attack along with other skills, Heavy nearly never hits even if your standing in front of it. Critical surge takes 33 seconds till it needs to be refired. But using it with heavy, heavy is all the sudden 2/3rds missed. Same dummy, heavy only, it's 100% hit
If they made a change they made a booboo. I remember recently they accidently did something in reverse and didn't fix it till next update/server deal
What specific Elder Scrolls game might you be referring to?
You may have better luck asking on the official ESO Forums: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/categories
This server is for Bethesda released games. ESO was released by Zenimax.
and the only thing they say is re-download yadda yadda yadda, which is BS because the Heavy alone would have issues as well
I fell like it's nerfed
You could also try reaching out to the ESO support team at https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/home
Hi guys! I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice for a dream job I wanna pursue. I want to work at Bethesda, but I need to work on a big portfolio first, I want to be a writer for their elder scrolls franchise or quests. I know thats a big dream, but it's one I aim to chase, any tips?
Your best bet would be to check out this page: https://jobs.zenimax.com/
Thank you!
Always happy to help!
So like. It would be great if we could sometimes encounter/witness (from a safe distance) ppl being eaten by creatures/monsters. Like a dragon swallowing a Bosmer. Giant ripping a Nord in half before taking a chunk out of their leg. A troll biting an arm off. I'm sure there are big things in the water that could do stuff like this too. Then kill em after to get double the loot.
Hi
So, if they were to ever add an additional playable race.. A bird type beast race (like Argonian & Khajiit) would be nice & with the natural ability to "glide."
And if they sync it right, could land some amazing gliding sneak attacks upon foes. Like the owl silently strikes it's prey from above with perfect precision.
And it'd just be fun lifting enemies off the ground and then dropping them to the ground below. But perhaps that's going a bit far.
realistically we'd get
elves: maormer or unrealistically falmer
men: akaviri or kothringi but neither are likely
beastfolk: khajiit subraces, argonian subraces or unrealistically lilmothiit
Hi
At best, I'd expect vaguely offensive Asian caricatures for Akaviri.
At worst? Probably worst since I hate the idea of Akaviri humans.
Yeah, I'll go with worst.
yup the half akaviri is already a poor caricature
Let's dilute entire diverse cultural groups into mass market recognisable memes!
Yay, writing!
nords! heehee haha we're funny violent vikings
It's especially bad with the Akaviri, because of the established Snake thing.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to run with a well established racially derogatory depiction of the Japanese, shouldn't be doing worldbuilding.
At least if they were ACTUAL snake people, you could kinda skirt the baggage. But when they're just Asiatic humans?
Not a good look
And this is part of why I am generally against mono-themed cultures in fiction. It's too easy accidentally import blatant real world racial issues.
At least when you blend multiple influences, you can more easily detach the result for real world issues.
And you almost always end up with a more interesting end result anyway. So plus plus.
The other reason I'm against them, is they're boring.
Nothing wrong with vikings but.... they could use something else themewise... Hopefully I don't regret that statement š
Careful now, dont unleash the wrath of Terical š
I think that is the main reason why Akavir isn't really given much information about it. It's better that it's a mystery. Otherwise it can easily go into territory of Disney caricatures. If done well there could be some depth.
The Nords are a great example of why I say it's boring.
Vikings weren't a people. They were a trade WITHIN a people.
Designing an entire fantasy culture around, say, Vikings, is like designing an entire culture around Accountants.
It's shallow, nonsensical, and entirely misses how cultures function.
When you develop a fictional group around these sorts of superficial concepts, you end up with cultures that don't stand up to any real scrutiny.
And the result of that is, you discourage investigation, digging and expiration. Because doing so very quickly shatters the fragile facade you've created.
Well, most of the Khajiit homeland is arid, not forested.
But I think Morrowind and the Dunmer still hold up so well, compared to... Well, everything else, because of this issue.
The Dunmer are a blend of at least 3 major cultures (Assyria, Feudal Japan, Pre-Ghengis Mongolia) and likely even more.
The effort it takes to blend that combination even close to seamlessly means that you're creating something that is distinct, interconnected, and organic.
It's not just a facade or a meme that's easily recognizable, it's a facsimile of an actual culture that rewards you for looking into it.
Even if it's not totally complete, and still has room to be refined, the work ultimately pays off way, WAY more than we've seen in literally anything Bethesda has made since (and arguably anything anyone else has made since).
What about imperials
TLDR: Too much roman. I see them as the default human option but I think they should have a little bit of Nord, a little bit of Breton, and a little bit of Redguard. Obviously with the typical medieval Europe stuff to. Not just "WE ROMANS but fantasy"
Viking knights riding horker mounts for sure
Crikey
Shoulda gone Byzantine like originally intended
They were a mix of Rome and China from memory. Just TES4 destroyed the Imperials so they only have rome now and that's if TES even wants to bother with the failure
In the PGE, they were sort of described as a mix of Rome, Byzantium, Imperial China, and Shogunate Japan.
I insist.
I don't remember anything China. They were always rome ever since atleast MW from what i know
Oblivion did butcher it into being.. whatever it was in Oblivion but still
In fact Imperials weren't even a proper race before Redguard iirc
Hidden away in books or PGE1 like all Imperial lore. TES3 tries to add ministers, I know TES4s poorly made Dragonborn Emperor could come under the whole Mandate of Heaven. I believe PGE1 tries stuff with the Nibenese but again never escapes books.
I hope you don't mean the abandoned fort ruins. š
Admittedly, a Divine Mandate is a pretty common thing for Imperial and Monarchical systems.
Nothing says 'Im in charge' quite like an appeal to a god.
There's no forts in Oblivion. Only towers.
There's a couple fort dungeons like Alessia and Aurus
Which in TES4 are just towers.
Eh. Idk. Does this look like a tower?
https://images.uesp.net/thumb/b/b7/OB-place-Fort_Aurus.jpg/799px-OB-place-Fort_Aurus.jpg
In a matter of speaking.
https://images.uesp.net/3/35/OB-place-Fort_Alessia.jpg
Yeah. TES4 only had a tower design for its so called forts.
Though the issue is with a lot of TES4 dungeon tilesets where the exteriors are really not great for making things with. You can't do anything but a tower and Ayleid exterior ruins you can really only make walls.
They were proper forts in ESO
I liked how even in ESO they doubled as mausoleums.
Skyrim also did forts a lot better than Oblivion.
Oh man, I hate Oblivion's ruins so much... Like, who designed those interiors? They're just nonsense game-y mazes with no actual presence in the world.
Bethesda's environment design has vastly improved since then.
Wasn't there only one dungeon designer during Oblivion's development?
Yeah one of Skrim's main point during development was to hand craft every dungeon iirc
Make sure they're not largely copy pasted like Oblivion's
Efforts to make Skyrim's world feel hand-crafted extended to the team abandoning the use of generated landscapes as they had done in Oblivion. While just one team member was charged with designing dungeons in Oblivion, Skyrim's 150 dungeons were designed by a group of eight people
Sounds better even if some of the ideas for Dungeons in Oblivion were decent. Just executed not to the best(I still loved Oblivion)
It's more complicated than that.
Skyrim and onwards dungeons and environments felt like they could actually exist. The ruined forts had fort-like layouts, the Dwemer ruins were at least somewhat logical and felt like something someone would build.
Oblivion's were just meaningless spaces put together to fill with monsters to fight.
Oblivion's design was Winchester House.
I admit that's a personal preference thing, though.
Oblivion's the only game that I've bothered to use whatever spell does the ground trail to leave.
Clairvoyance.
Well I want to thank Bethesda for making the game worse for me after the recent maintenance. Now instead of getting part way through before my game freezes in New Market, NOW everywhere my weapons are stuck in fire mode!! WTH
I Die or get booteed
kinda tired of this mess.. It's almost over and I still havent been able to complete even 5 dailies from my faction, but still havent hit the 5k favor
I am not the only one either..
If it's asny help to the dev's if they are reading this. I connect through the Charlotte NC server on steam
is this for ESO?
Yes
Bethesda Game Studios does not make ESO, nor do we have anything do to with it. You will want to go to the ESO forums at https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/
And don't tell me re;oad game etc etc no addons etc etc. It hasn't chamged a thing
ESO is made by Zenimax Online Studios
@spare plaza I appreciate your trying to help but did all they asked and still, its getting worse
We cannot help you here, as we did not make the game
Guess what, I know this.. Steam is only a connection point.
The only thing I can recommend is to keep replying to the ticket and tell Customer Support it's not been fixed
Your not helping, Had no issues with the game until they started setting up for New market
Once again, we did not make the game. we cannot help you. I have given you all the help we can
They arent doing anything about it. Already did all that
They wont get any more of my money nor will they get referrals
I can understand your frustration, but this discord is not the place to vent for the reasons Hadeostry said.
Hi
hello
chat dead must've been murdered by violent nords
(violent nord is like saying chai tea)
Not only is synergy great with followers. It's also great when enemies are using their own synergy against you.
Hi everyone. If this is the wrong section for this question please let me know the correct section and I will move it to the correct section and I will delete it from the wrong section. Is anyone else planning on waiting to get "consoles the elder scrolls 6/the elder scrolls 6 on consoles" until it has "mods/creations/whatever they are currently called"?
I've only played on PC
just get it on pc instead
I concur.
@primal olive @pulsar root nope, I am a console gamer and from what I read it seems way to difficult to install mods on pc.
try playstation mods if you want difficulty lol
You get a mod organizer, you download mods and press install
That's it š
Hi
sooo, i did a thing https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/105294
Next we'll be doing summons. Summoning Alduin in the Capital Wasteland to vanquish a pit of behemoths.
Don't think it's possible in 3 tho it should work in 4 given the vertibirds work on modified dragon code
And 76 already has sci fi dragons scorchbeasts
Hi
Hello/hola
hello
:D
eso poggers
OI POG
Alguien que hable espaƱol por que mi ingles no es muy bueno
bethesda
Ok now whereās the general general chat š¦
hey @sand charm, nice to see you're still around š
why no Redguard, Battlespire, or Travels chat
i was gonna ask also why no new vegas chat but i realize thats just #fallout-general-chat
FNV wasnt made by BGS either
oh
by the way, as this is now the replacement for the Bethesda forums, I feel it is my duty as an old-timer to offer every newcomer a fishystick
https://i.imgur.com/ueBDSnO.png
I chatted with Captain Eldrad just a few days ago (original creator of fishy sticks back in 2001).
hello
Wouldn't make sense to make chats for those games, barely anyone played them they'd be clutter
Make a fishystick emote
+1
Itās great to see the fishy stick again. Has the team considered making it an emote?
blessed be the fishy stick
wait where is dishonored chat?
oooh
Check out a dishonored discord server I guess
u can dm me it.
only fallout emotes so far š¦
Bethesda are only gonna have games theyāve developed here
BGS are biased to Fallout?
Came here for the fishystick
Disappointed and let down

so im assuming bethesda only published it?
Or there already exists Fallout emotes from the mobile app etc where it's easy to pull them from
Yes
Yep
We're working on emotes, I believe. That's just what was on hand
No, different company
ah
One is called Bethesda Game Studios, it makes games
ok. thanks for clarifying
Other is called Bethesda Softworks, it's the publisher
ooooh
BethSoft owned BGS
And a bunch of other studios
But now it's all under Microsoft
that makes alot more sense
guessing this channel will be used for larger lore themes encompassing all of elder scrolls
And if you want to discuss the best phone game ever, Shadowkey.
Thatās ok if so. The original forums didnāt have a lore space till 2004.
And you are 100% right Freddo shadowkey was amazing for its time.
But which game is the most cannon?
Redguard is definitely a great game for its story but not gameplay. Itās too bad we never got to see The Eye of Argonia.
Zeta invaders is most cannon imo
tbh, im still waiting for an Elder Scrolls Grand Strategy
Something like Eu4 or Hoi4
but set in Elder Scrolls
you can try Elder Kings!
it's a mod for crusader kings
noice
sadly I dont own any of the CK games
im mostly a hoi4, Eu4, and Vic 2 player when it comes to Paradox
Mans not wrong
shadowkey deserves to be ported to ios
The elderkings mod for ck2/3
or android
Its worth it my dude
why not both?
both is good
you can probably emulate Shadowkey on android
Ck2 is free the dlcs not so much
lol
a good 4 player coop elderscrolls on modern mobile
Maybe they should do an Elder Scrolls Legends Pack where you get Shadowkey, BattleSpire, Redguard, ect in one game, sell it for like $5 on Steam
shadowkey is hard
shadowkey is on a modified sd card compatible format
and its java
See it would make sense to forward port games like dawnstar and shadowkey but theyre really not compatible with modern stiff
I mean the original Fallouts work fine and they are older then any of the ES spinoffs
They were made for pc in mind, like the es mobile games were mobile games before modern app stores existed
The problem with shadowkey porting is it uses an os for the ngage that no other phone/pc uses.
the orginal fallouts were made for pc
the majority of tes spinoffs were for pc
4 were for phones and a cancelled oblivion for psp (which is sad)
"A dragon? in skyrim?"
Dragons in my homeland
Hi
Hi š
Sup spoon
New place to write some stories instead of GG.
Heyo
Any bets on how quickly this discord will shut down due to kids' incessant spam about TES:VI?
The whole discord?! That would be impressive
Tes 6 wen? /s
2077
Spring 2001!
Whatās GG?
@dim reef Good game! People say to each other after fight in PvP Arena - ESBlades.
Oh I thought it was a server everyone went on
I was a bit confused
Thereās a discord server with the same name dedicated to PvP
I donāt like pvp. Sorry that probably added to my confusion
I donāt mind either depend on the mood lol
I dont like being matched with people outside my lvl bracket
Agreed
Oh boy I sure can't wait for Redfall
The Romanelli will be great
Winks at bethesda employees
Ah Romanelli what Skyrim could have been.
would be cool if Skyrim SE got that Oblivion mod on console... sucks that its only PC via Nexus atm
Unfortunately it'd be impossible to do on console. You'd need the script extender for one, and for two it's such a huge mod, with the size limit it'd be impossible. I agree, it would be nice, but not feasible.
ah
Yeah. :/
Would be cool if there was some technological advancement in ES6
Maybe with some early era magic guns or something.
I don't know if you're new to the series, but that goes against a major Tolkienesque theme of the series - Tamriel constantly declining with every game.
A post on TESLore sums it up better that I can, hold on
271 votes and 101 comments so far on Reddit
"Tamriel isn't pre-industrial; it's post-apocalyptic" āsomeone here, a bit ago, and I can't find a link. You know who you are. Pitch in;)
Tamrielic society has gotten progressively worse and worse as history grinds onwards.
- by myrrlyn
Now... i'm not saying there shouldn't be a status quo reset later down the line. Perhaps beginning with ES6 there could be an End Times event (And NO, THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THE THALMOR IS TRYING TO UNMAKE REALITY, THAT IS AN UNSUBSTANTIATED CLAIM ASSUMED FROM A DELETED LINE) leading into the Elder Scroll's version of Age of Sigmar that brings things back to 1st era
People in #elder-scrolls-lore just told me the opposite about Tamriel and how it's not on a downwards trend.
It's just the nordic aesthetic.
That's one of the worst things about Elder Scrolls becoming mainstream this late into the series - 10+ year gap between games and you have to explain all of this to a public who only associates the series with a nord with shouting powers.
comparable to those "comic book fans" who cry foul at Man of Steel - completely ignorant of developments such as post-Infinite Crisis and New 52
Hi, I'm people
That is my Occam's Razor view, yes
Hello people, how can we serve you
I'd like a cup of jarrin root tea, please
Right away
Grabs 40,000 cups of tea for the entire people population
Which is funny because we've had arguably more TES content in those ten years to talk about other than shouting and dragons, it just happens to be ESO lol
It's only until around 2019 or so that much of the public discussion is slowly going towards the rest of the games, thank goodness... but that's just on the internet.
"Name 5 characters from morrowind"
Yeah, people had to tire of Skyrim eventually
That's literally my post to /r/Morrowind yesterday lmao
And the one question that always bothers hardcore TES fans the most:
"Who's the canon victor of the civil war?"
No please that's not going to be answered in 6
if you need to answer that Bethesda would repeat daggerfall's mistakes
It might. Who knows? Any answer other than from a BGS employee is pretty much pointless though lol
And even worse... people wanting or expecting the thalmor to be an overarching enemy because "Elf Nazis" and "Towers"
It just won't happen
I mean, you can't really sympathize with them in Skyrim lol
They are just jerks
Overarching is a bit much since they literally just got introduced and were reformed between Oblivion and Skyrim so they couldn't have anything to do with what happened pre Skyrim, and they aren't really involved with the return of the dragons š¤
They are still a pretty grounded threat to be dealt with, but it isn't guaranteed that they'll be antagonists in TES6
Considering the time skip and world building that happened between Oblivion and Skyrim, they could literally just vanish behind the scenes
I'm ranting since i'm skeptical about how public perception could affect the larger stories and thematic presentation down the line
What I'm more interested in is how the Empire is gonna fare in future game since it was such a staple of the franchise (to the point one of the playable races is literally named imperials.) Are they truly waning? Is the entire Tamriel gonna balkanize in its absence or is another power gonna replace it?
That seems like a much more pressing issue to be solved in TES6
A new status quo most likely, since BGS has to make wherever the game will take place different than its ESO counterpart
Every region being ruled by their own factions, most likely
Imagine if the Dominion replaced it and we just had to deal with jerk elves ruling as a fact of life in Tamriel
Would be a dark era for TES
And would be a cheap way of appealing to Skyrim fans
Altmer seem much more oppressive than imperials
I'd rather see something new than try to capitalize on an often-misunderstood faction that wasn't supposed to go beyond Skyrim
Who knows? I literally have no clue what to expect of the next game lol
There IS going to be at minimum a 15+ year gap between Skyrim and ES6 which will attract all those Gen Alphas... rather do something for them than cash in in Gen Z nostalgia
Most will either be 13 14 or 15 by the time it hits the shelves
It's so mind boggling that TES6 is the new HL3
I wonder if the game can hold up to an honestly wonderful masterpiece that was Cyberpunk 2077... the best western RPG i've played in years.
Rockstar better take notes too... i've never seen another open world game that properly conveys scale in a city enviornment
I thought the first part of your comment was a joke lmao
Which speaks a lot about long delayed overhyped games
Writing is great, character animation is great, city design is great, driving is realistic [depending on if you like it or not] crafting is GARBAGE
Cyberpunk is very hit or miss with people, and usually to an extreme
Side quests are honestly unforgettable too
- Those expecting GTA Cyberpunk
- Those unfamiliar with Cyberpunk's genre conventions
- Those unfamiliar with the tabletop series being a lot more action-oriented than other Cyberpunk media
Either way, TES6 will have to evolve the TES gameplay. It's hard to compete with Skyrim which was such an iconic game
I was expecting it to be either a better Rpg or a better action game lmao I was disappointed of both sides
For choices and consequences, you have to pay attention and explore - it doesn't give you that many prompts
It just reminded me way too much of The Outer Worlds, which I didn't love either
Okay Outer Worlds was garbage
Now back onto topic
outer worlds was alright
Would you rather marry an Argonian or Khajiit
nothing special imo, but a decent enjoyable game
Khajiits seem way more fun
probably khajiit
Argonians can be a stick in the mud
Argonians IMO, less work needed and they can breathe underwater
You know... fishing and....

I mean, a healing potion could cure brain damage in case she took it too far
Waterboarding becomes an exciting bedroom activity

[Elder Scrolls ASMR] Female Argonian (Skyrim voice) tries out new things in your bedroom
I really hope there's not going to be Creation Club in Elder Scrolls 6. Just saying.
To be honest, something like that with Argonians who have different-species spouses should be implied in canon.
i hope there is
Why? It's honestly one of the best decisions BGS has made with content creation
That's just an inevitability now
i also hope theres a season pass that includes creation club
even if its seperate to a season pass for the main dlc
Now you guys are trolling.
Now that would be something
Rather have free access to them that buy through micro transactions
I'm not, but I see the potential
I worry that would mean that if Creation Club continues, it would replace modding in general.
Replace the creation credits and it would be perfect
Not going to happen
its by no means going to replace modding ever
I couldn't bring myself to spend a penny in it in Skyrim or FO4
In fact Creation Club is better because all the items are tested all across the board instead of being made around a single PC rig
its not even an alternative to modding
I hope not
i use creation club alongside a heavy load order
creation club has already improved by miles since the initial release, and if it continues im sure itll have improved even more by the time TES 6 comes along
Well Creation Club was poorly executed through launch. For example, downloading the Nix-Hound content that you only get a pet that does nothing but carry stuff, yet does not help you in combat, while other Nix Hounds hostile to you can have the ability to engage combat.
it excites me if anything
thats a condition of all creation club pets as they use a seperate framework to regular pets
And Knights of the Nine content, why would Bandits be able to wear the armor that is clearly not worthy to them? It's clearly lore breaking. Only those who have washed the sins for the Nine divines can wear them.
thats an initial release creation, most of which were low quality for sure, and knights of the nine is the worst offender
Someone forgot to recharge the armor
nothing even comes close to the knights of the nine creation
I like the armor in Knights of the Nine content itself, but the way it was executed was poor IMO.
and look at the newer releases and the quality and execution is great
everything has a quest and often a dungeon now
and theyre interesting stories
Can we admit the quest to find most cc artifacts are pretty convoluted and bland? Lol
One of the few creation clubs I like was the mudcrab pet content.
even alternate armours provides a longer overaching story of the crimson dirks, in the form of new books
I really do hope they get a chance to release the rest of the ones they had planned
I thought those two words would never be in the same sentence
Though I can't speak for the most recent ones. I watched a few of the older ones on YouTube
The crimson dirk one for instance isnāt finished yet
chrysamere is cool and unique with its effect, umbra is cool and has a very nice dungeon and quest to go along with it
dawnfang and duskfang also have a nice dungeon and quest
Look, just because I like the creation club mudcrab content, doesn't mean I'm the fan of Creation club itself. Plus, the mudcrab content was free when I got the chance the get it.
mudcrab has always been and always will be free
That's the only creation club content I downloaded.
Saints and seducers was amazing
^^^
forgotten seasons is also incredible
and spell knight
such an interesting quest for such a beautiful set of armour
Definitely. I also liked the Cyrus one only because itās our first mention of Cyrus in a long long while.
I wish the creation club was used to bring some weapons and armor from ESO to Skyrim.
:(
true, but most items have at least been on sale and many have been totally free at one point or another
There are already mods for that.
all of the "alternate armour" sets have been free, for example
survival mode (which i can no longer play without) has been free twice
i believe camping too
By "alternate armor" does that mean replace vanilla armor? Or just actual standalone armor?
As a Brazilian player, you could say that about every Zeninax game :')
and unlike mods, creation club armours all fit in with skyrims aesthetic, they dont feel modded
if that makes sense
Yeah Eric, but they don't have mod authors that make content for Zenimax games, only Zenimax themselves make it.
It does. Well, somewhat. Some artifacts do feel kinda weird. They didn't have the same care creating them as the original Skyrim devs did with their assets. It's a step up from mods, but quality still varies compared to the game itself
Some artifacts feel like their TES3 or 4 version with more polygons lol
whilst i agree with the earlier content, id say newer stuff like sunder and wraithguard, umbra, and artifacts from saints and seducers all feel at least skyrim quality if not higher
IMO ESO has been better at updating artifacts to modern TES
Eh
I rather for "mini-dlcs" would just have actual dialogue instead of re-used or edited ones.
the problem with dialogue is localising for every officially supported language
The book breadcrumb trail is good for most.
it may not be a problem when creation club is more popular, but as it stands now its too expensive an endeavour
Yeah, voiced quests just aren't viable for cc content
Well, now that Microsoft owns Bethesda, maybe they'll probably improve in the future?
I mean, I don't know how, but Microsoft has tons of resources.
true
Itās too bad they cant have a creation club for oblivion or morrowind. Iād love official content that adds to the older games
I rather leave the old games alone, unless they get remastered into updated game engines.
Same
Because creation club for oblivion and morrowind seems out of the question and out of reach. That would just be weird.
i wouldnt even need a skyrim level engine to enjoy a remaster, just morrowind with a 64bit engine, cleaned up UI, maybe higher res textures and lighting and im happy
I've said it before. It's so weird that Morrowind or Oblivion haven't been officially remade and we have to content with fan recreations š¤
the fan recreations look very good tbh
Yes!
Anyway, don't want to change the subject, but do you think the Second Great War will be in Elder Scrolls 6?
i do
They do, but still. I doubt any of them will ever see the light of day
i think TES6 will take place towards the end of it
with most of tamriel belonging to the dominion, and you fighting the last stand in hammerfell
fighting against an overwhelming force
Not before TES6 is released, then they turn their efforts to remake Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim in the new engine.
Now I would worry the fate of Skyrim in Elder Scrolls 6
I think a clannfear will take the throne and rule the Daedric Empire of Tamriel.
That's as likely as any other theories for TES6 lmao
skyrim being in the hands of the dominion by the time TES6 comes means bethesda doesnt need to say who won the civil war, leaving that decision up to the player
canon
I hope the Thalmor are the main villains in ES6
Eh. That kinda makes the player choice not matter at all rather than protecting it lol
how can they make it matter without invalidating one or the other?
unless they include save transfers
which is possible tbh
By not touching on Skyrim at all š¤š¤š¤
Think about it, how much have you heard about Morrowind in TES4?
Skyrim is the odd one out since it had a time skip and had a serious dose of world building between games
But we still don't know the true stat eof many nations that border Skyrim
Like High Rock or Hammerfell
surely if they dont touch on skyrim nor who won the civil war thats also making the player choice not matter?
And we know only a little about the state of Cyrodiil and Morrowind
I really hope we get a couple creation club content to hint at and lead up to TES VI when it comes time
we hear a little about hammerfell too
Very little lol
we hear whats important that the fight is still alive against the thalmor
Yeah, but we don't hear details like who's its ruler, which redguard faction is ruling it, so on
All we know at the end of the civil war is that neither the Empire or the Stormcloaks rule Skyrim, both sides still say they'll hold a Moot in the future at the end of their questline
TES6 could be set post this Moot
So Skyrim is whole again, ruled by a High King or Queen, but we don't need to know who won the war
Or the Moot could be post-poned forever and Skyrim fractures into a bunch of Jarldoms instead of being a kingdom, which is my dream scenario but highly unlikely lmao
thing is the civil war is all about making a one sided moot
yup
replacing all the jarls to either elisif sided or ulfric sided, so as soon as one side wins its basically confirmed whos gonna become high king/queen
We still probably won't know the result of said Moot, or they end up electing a ruler who's neither Elisif or Ulfric~~, like Maven~~
Any Jarl could be up for the title
Balgruuf could be a strong contender if they want to go with one who kinda appeases both sides
I was about to say, Balgruuf is a better ruler than any other Jarl because he truly cares about his people and once said he visited the Bannered Mare to socialize with the people.
Either way, I feel like we'll only see the Empire's power diminish, either put to the brink by winning the Civil War, or losing a massive legion to the Stormcloaks. They also lost their Emperor during a critical time.
and yet he is known for a bad temper and is likely a horrible husband and father
Yeah.... gotcha.
He's a nord, so he has bad temper. But you may be right about being a horrible husband and father.
Not all nords have bad temper, let me clarify
balgruuf is known, amongst nords, to have a bad temper
ulfric states this i believe
lemme check
My bet for TES6 is that either the Dominion is gonna be the major power replacing the Empire, or that the provinces are mostly independent. Skyrim is reunited, independent and back to worshiping Talos (the empire was never against Talos worship anyway.)
That is if we even hear that much about what's happening in Skyrim at all.
Of course the Empire was never against Talos worship, they were forced to ban the worship of Talos in the treaty with the Dominion
I do hope if we go to hammerfell we get to actually see a fully realized 4th era orsinium.
Definitely. Itād be cool if we were able to build it up or something, it being a new orsinium made by a union of orsimer tribes
Iād love to see more trinimac worship.
I was always one with LadyN's understanding of Orsinium, in that, as Aldmeris is spiritually cursed, Orsinium is physically cursed, always to fall and crump and laid to ruins. As corny it is, the real Orsinium were the friends we made along the way

we need a chat for redguard and the travels games
That would be here. General is for anything not covered by the named channels
thx i shall discuss the finest entries into the franchise here
redguard established the future of tes with its lore and despite the game itself not being all that great, the lore allowed for the games to grow beyond what they were and truly become their own thing
future spin off games, such as redguard and the travels games, allow lore to be expanded through linear narratives and would help to give writers some freedom and allow further exploration of events or time periods not fully explored
I just wish we would have gotten TESA: Eye of Argonia.
same
Blackmarsh is hard to make, when they set the lore to make it pretty much completely uninhabitable by non-argonians @thorn hazel
Either that, or it'll be the perfect game for Scalies.
XD
The story would have been an adventure game set in black marsh with Cyrus going after the gem.
It was in concept stages before it was cancelled due to redguard underperforming
We've now seem some of the Black Marsh in ESO, so some of it is traversable by outlanders. We're still yet to see the heart of the Marsh, though.
AAnd while the parts we visit aren't uninhabitable, we do see some hints that the Marsh itself is pretty hostile, there are many plants that straight up attack you.
Sadly, ESO doesn't have any disease gameplay to know how contagious it would be in these border zones, but we do see outlanders living in cities like Stormhold, Gideon and Lilmoth
I do not remember saying this but I like it
Give high rock to the orcs
I wrote a DND campaign where Aldmaris was the super continent and the only fighting was unarmed or magic
Abandoned it though before fleshing it out
@narrow hull Remember Far Cry 2 where you literally had Malaria and had to medicate yourself? Maybe something similar for outlanders in black marsh, lol

That would be an interesting mechanic, yes
Hah! It was on one of the media, either TIL, Twitter, or Tumblr.
Did Stormhold and Dawnstar add much to the lore?
There was the Ice Tribe, those were interesting
For the most part they were mere hack and slashes
That too
There were these artefacts, Starfrosts. Iirc they were like some magical frost used for prayers in Dawnstar and elemental magic
Oh and the Trollkin too
dawnstar has a lot more going on than stormhold
I dont know much of Stormhold
i had to look up stormhold and i do not remember the story at all
its like, prison and the prisoners are forced to dig up crystals?
Oh yea there were crystals
There was this thing, a Storm Crystal no?
Another great magickal morpholith or something
i need to make an Elder Scrolls Travels Imports mod for skyrim
that's the thing the bad guy overseer is after, yes
oooo that'll be good
hope that wouldn't be too much work though
Dooo itttt (or many Morrowind)
Das right
But first i need to finish blades Imports
i was looking up the game cause i completely forgot everything so i'll kinda feel bad if i say "oh yeah i just found the storm crystal!"
well i said it there but im making fun of myself
Idk much about Stormhold either s'all good
I'd like to play Shadowkey
There is a project currently going on iirc, that is trying to port it into Morrowind
yeah there is. they seem to be doing really well on it so far
you can emulate Shadowkey now, as far as I know
Yup. If they can somehow remake Redguard as well, I'd be complete.
Redguard>Shadowkey>Dawnstar>Stormhold
is my order for "misc" TES Games
Our profile pictures are "you vs the Altmer she tells you not to worry about"
which ones me? everyone loves the shadowkey elf so im guessing im the latter
Redguard is at least obtainable via GoG now
It is but it is the most unplayable game š¢ Which sucks because it has one of the top stories of TES.
I was never able to finish it, I had to watch a walk through
Also, don't forget Battlespire
those three along with arena are games i really want to be remade
Oh right. For some reason, my brain registered it as part of the main series. I did play through Battlespire however - I find it much more playable than Redguard. But Battlespire in Morrowind would also be fantastic.
Of these games, Battlespire is the one I got the farthest in
Games I completed: Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Battlespire, Daggerfall
Games I played like half way and gave up and watched a walk through: Arena, Redguard
Dude I wish they bring back climbing in the next game but I hope they don't make it like breath of the wild
And the throwing stars from Morrowind
I wanna be Ninja spell blade
Would anyone care to hear alchemical desires in elder scrolls 6?
GT Noonan created a mod that basically added Battlespire to morrowind with The Imperial Proving Ground. It was also included in morrowind advanced.
what if for the 10th anniversary of skyrim they remaster it in the new engine they're using for Starfield, to show it off
obviously they most likely aren't doing this and it would have needed months, maybe years of planning but eh hopeful dream
Looking for some new friends to quest and explore with in ESO PC! Message me ASAP
Server?
Elder scrolls mmmm very good game 10/10 epic
Morning š„ø
settlement system in TES 6
opinions?
or just a system similar to fallout 4's settlement system
It's inevitable.
I want a CAMP like item
TES6 will have a settlement-like system
You can see that's what they were trying to do with Hearthfire but their tech wasn't there yet
I sure hope it will, I loved that system
I doubt it will be as in depth as FO4 to the point of managing resources and settlers, since that was a theme very particular to Fallout (resettling the wasteland.) More likely we'll be able to build out own strongholds and possibly hire some NPCs
Oh like a more in depth thing of the house stronghold from Morrowind? Would be cool
Perhaps food/water management in the strongholds could be part of a survival mode, since they have been taking survival options more seriously
Hope having your own stronghold would be a late game thing then.
Prefer to keep the feeling of working yourself up from nothing
Yeah, like that! But I was referencing specifically the manors in the Hearthfire DLC š
To be fair, the manors in HF start out as tiny houses which you expand upon lol
Ah, I rarely do those, Iām usually either too broke or too busy
I could see that being available from near the beginning
Not sure I would like that. Suppose it depends on how it's done.
Imo, I can see it being closer along the lines of us getting a hub and us expanding on it, like the vault dlc in 4 where we could āexcavateā more and more to expand our vault
Rather than full on settlement building
Nah. TES always gives us multiple options, like all the houses you can buy in Skyrim.
Wouldn't make sense to restrict it to a single location lol
Yeah, I'm talking about that lol
Ah I see, fair enough
I think there's going to be multiple. Hearthfire gives us three options already
Can't see why they'd keep it to a single location that some fans might dislike.
Makes sense
Plus it wouldn't require much story setup in game? The bare minimum would be buying a land deed from a local ruler
But they could tie them to questlines to unlock some locations
Kinda like what FO4 does. Gives you a bunch of locations, some are free to take once you've cleaned it out, some require a quest
Though the CAMP system from FO76 is an interesting development. Allowing the player to build anywhere.
I could see them taking some notes from it. Even if it's just a system to build temporary survival camps
inb4 the tagline for TES6 is "You see that mountain? You can build on it."
You'll probably be able to build your own fife or something, as explanation for the CAMP system adjacent
man if it is hammerfell and high rock its gonna give so many possibilities
im expecting only hammerfell personally tho
shape of hammerfell and high rock on a map together really appeals to me tho
6 is 110% just Hammerfell, the player will probably be the HoonDing/Last Sword Singer
i don't know about it being just hammerfell. personally i think it'll be like daggerfall but bigger in scope. and i wouldn't mind that.
HoonDing is pretty much a guarantee if hammerfell is included
Nah if ESO is any metric (and I hope it isn't) Beth has no love for Highrock.
i typically keep my expectations low as to avoid disappointment
eso isn't made by bethesda. and i think they have love for it.
They kinda messed up by giving Cyrods the Bretons' European schtick in TES4, though not exactly in an interesting way.
eso writers got no love for the bretons
Besides they'd need a whole new style of dungeon tileset for Direnni ruins
i disagree on that, i found it interesting and fun and far different than high rock's cultural style.
high rock is more reminiscent of european stuff like britain or italy, while cyrodiil is more like rome and greece with its own splash of variance like skingrad, chorrol, and such.
I'd have preferred Romans mixed with Slavs for the Colovians, and Romans mixed with Japanese for the Nibenese as the older lore said. What we got was erm. D&D forgotten realms, or Gondor.
Which to be fair would be too bland for Highrock even
well time constrains and engine limitations. sutch was removed due to disk space.
I don't buy that, they could have made more distinctive cultures and better looking armors
But the LOTR movies were all the rage at the time, so the Oblivion guards all wear gondorian armor
i hope its only hammerfell
lets take a break from the more typical fantasy we've had in skyrim and oblivion
Again, Cyrodiil was meant to be "mostly jungle"
and then they changed that retcon into a lore thing
Retcons are bad if they make a setting less interesting
i never liked the idea of it being a jungle. so i'm personally glad it was changed.
or not explained but at least addressed
imo cyrodiil would without a doubt have been cooler as a jungle, but the lore thing we got out of it changing to a forest is even cooler
i just don't really like jungle settings. at the most it'd have been fine if the areas near the elsweyr border were more jungle-ish but that's about it for me.
My prediction: TES6 hammerfell, DLC1 Orsinium, DLC2 Yokuda where we fight the First Sword Singer that isn't just Frandar Hunding for some reason
Main plot Crowns (blue) vs imperials (red), Thalmor trying to use the Adamant Tower to kill Nirn mages guild plot
i predict the second dlc will see the return of jyggalag
I definitely want Hammerfell
alternatively the second dlc is orsinium with a large focus on malacath
Generic European High Rock would bore me and kinda be a Skyrim/Cyrodiil mix. Nothing really new.
if jyggalag is a dlc plot, i'd like it if we were to help him make his own plane of oblivion.
help him??
yeah.
i could def see an orsinium and malacath focused dlc
would probably go to the ashpit in it
i would love to see a sanguine pirate themed dlc as well
with stros mākai, the chain, and betony
Malacath is a huge bro
malacath seems like one of the better princes to worship, especially if u an orc
Spheres are curses, the spurned, and oaths
malacath is pretty chill
Ironically moreso than the three good Daedra
as long as u love azura she chill, but dont go against her or she gonna hold a grudge
Azura is the most chill of the three, though not saying much
Elder scrolls mmmm very good game 10/10 epic
yup, each of them <Š
Hey, I'm looking for people on the European server, who can help me with the Scalebreaker achievement
Wonder if Bethesda will make another teaser of TES6 this year or next
Either way I canāt wait
I need tea6 š
is this the right channel to ask information about elder scroll online?
yeah i guess
its general so i guess you could talk about all the spin offs... besides blades which gets it's own channel
trying to read about that game to see if i'll enjoy it, was wondering how it feel/compare to other mmo like swtor or wow for exemple? mostly found guide for idk how many build and man it do semm a lot more complicated ^^'
can't speak for other MMOs but ESO has got great tutorial systems, and if you don't want to worry about having to make your own build you can just follow one of the template builds the game gives you
not complicated at all imo
from what ive read, sorcerer seem the easy option class wise (and i always liked summoner which i think they can be) but i remember liking playing a melee mage kind of hybrid so maybe dragonknight i think its the closest to that?
you can make multiple characters
i dont doubt that but if i can break my habit of making too many character and ending up going nowhere, that be nice lol

oh my, that will be a lot of data to assimilate. thank for the links š
If you only watch one, Herrius, I would choose Lucky Ghost's video.
I thought of a way to incorporate morrowind's spell system in the elder scrolls 6. So you know how skyrim has it where you get rid of your shield and sword and equip your spells, right? Well why not instead of making it cumbersome and clunky, we do like morrowind did where you press a separate button? Due to the controller having a smaller number than the keyboard, just make it where you tap the square button (whatever it is for xbox) twice?
that might actually be pretty cool
mmm, don't know if it would work. Same key sheathes your weapons. Imagine some mudcrab rushing at you, you panic, you start tapping X button.. and seeing what, sword ready, magic ready, sword sheathed, what a mess
i mean oblivion and eso are both on console and make that system work
What? It's like holding down the button to use your pip-boy but it turns on the flashlight.
equipping a spell to a seperate key rather than occupying a hand slot, though in ESO its cause all spells are abilities
what about dual casting and ritual spells?
Wdym?
So skyrim's local map is 5000000000x better than fallout 4's local map but skyrim's world map is 5000000000x worse than 4's world map.
Talk about a fair trade.
how do Fallout 4's maps look like?
The world map for 4 looks fine. The local map is small, cluttered and hard to read.
i would say "give an example" but we can't post images in here eheh
i really do talk like a dark souls character
I can post them in #screenshots-and-video.
oh right
Todd howard vetoed eso's idea to explore the dwemer! Let's gooo!
Understandable, they want to keep the mystery
Also I feel like TES VI might explore them somewhat
Thereās always going to be a bit of exploration on the mysterious stuff
We already know a lot about the dwemer as it is so like. Eh
some mysteries are more interesting as mysteries than as facts
I mean ESO does explore some Dwemer stuff.
I think this specifically was about exploring their disappearance.
is this about that game informer interview? former ESO's loremaster mentioned that in 2016 actually, only he didn't say Todd's name
Most likely
Ok, now i need to relearn who people are...
Lmao
Welcome, Lachdonin!
Thank's Pseron. I figure i've survived 3 Forums, might as well stick this out too.
hiya
Huzzah for the Great Migration! It continues. Although we may have lost many along the way following the Sundering of BSF, tears was not the right response. Only the strongest of us will make it to Vvardenfell.gg!
To ease the confusion, I've been the same name everywhere since I first joined in 2007ish.
the worst thing is, I don't remember anyone's names from the old Bethesda forums.
Same
I'm not quite as old as @eager remnant 'round these parts, but i'm probably getting close...
What happened in the original forums?
forums gave life to discord \o/ and died in the process, like Aedra
Depends on how far back you go. The original ones i was on? Everyone hating on Bethesda for ruining TES, and how Morrowind was the worst game ever made. There were even some threats made, which was frankly unacceptable and anyone who threatens Devs because they don't like the product deserves a special place in hell.
But, things largely mellowed out after a few months, and it became like any other Forum. people just talking about things they liked.
Then the software got discontinued, and they migrated onto a new platform, which we all used until that software got discontinued around 2015ish. And now they're sunsetting the last platform the switched to in favour of here.
The original ones i was on? Everyone hating on Bethesda for ruining TES, and how Morrowind was the worst game ever made. There were even some threats made, which was frankly unacceptable
oh...
didn't know there was a time people hated morrowind but it makes sense
Everybody hates the current game that came out, then the next game comes out and the one everyone was just hating on is suddenly the greatest one yet
Thatās how itās worked this whole time for tes lmao
im aware. i like pokemon too and everyone acts the same with those games
Believable
i guess because i never played morrowind or oblivion first and its been a whole dacade since a new game has come out i never saw that part
morrowind came out when i was 3 >_>
I'll admit, while i didn't threaten anyone like some of the riff-raff back in the day, i hated Morrowind when it came out.
Morrowind is an amazing game that's kind of painful to play, but in 2021 we have many tools to fix that part
im interested in this history
But, it grew on me over time, and the amount of care and love that went into it's worldbuilding is what eventually won me over. Then i was immensely disappointed with the total lack of any realworldbuilding in Oblivion
I played it vanilla a month ago, I loved it when I figured out how to not get thrown to the ground by all the enemies
OpenMW, move faster, fair magika regen, so on
i can't play morrowind too well but i really like the art style it has
im just bad at the game
The shift from Daggerfall to Morrowind was the biggest in the franchise. Half the Skills were dropped, Leveling changed, character building significantly streamlined, and basic gameplay rebuilt from the ground up.
I learnt how to get good with it lol, I searched up a way to get op, and when I figured out how to get op, I did get op and I enjoyed myself from there
i can play daggerfall a lot better than morrowind but i don't like the world building in it
Morrowind gets a lot better when you stop trying to play as intended and start cheesing dregas volar with chameleon and paralize target at lv1 to get the daedric crescent fresh outta balmora
^
I mean, that goes for most Bethesda games.
They get better when you cheese the ever loving hell out of them
everyone always told me to get the daedric stuff but like, i don't wanna and thats why i cant play it i guess
well resto loop in skyrim
Thereās a easy to get daedric katana
Well, Daedric weapon, i just choose the katana
Also find a nice spot to train (I use a mage's guild usually) and juice your stats
Conjure a skeleton, soul trap it, kill it with firebite
Repeat forever
aww
What
Lmao
killjoy bot
Okay, spam a cruddy enchanted item until it's empty and refill it with your infinite skeleton souls ro level enchanting
Alternatively paralyze it and punch it to death to level illusion and unarmed
Let a rat wail on you while casting hearth heal when you get low to level armor and resto
Cheese is the name of the game
what's wrong with š¤
welp lol
how many is too many?
1 of which are from Tel Mora
nothing i just like using server's version of the thinking face and š¤ looks odd now
I didn't know the telvanni made emojis...

YES
you forgot :VehkatThink:
i don't like how he's looking at me
That famous occasion when Vivec transformed into a Khajiit
i don't have nitro so i can't use other server emotes
Big tip: join Telvanni, theyre the best and teach you basic spells
Mark and recall, demoralize, cure common disease
i hear both good and bad of telvanni
They're the best
Join Redoran, they'll be on top 200 years later
Redoran has a kinda boring questline
Would you like some Hackle-Lo?
Hlaalu has a fun questline but who wants to be a Septim boot licker in Morrowind
Telvanni based because they hate everyone
I haven't played Hlaalu yet
Literally, they have negative affinity with all other factions
is "based" the opposite of "acidic"?
I thought it was the opposite of "exponential"
my brain turned off for a second @-@
I may just be too old (or too foreign-languaged), but I don't understand "based" in that context
Its ok, Iām young and I had zero clue what it meant till a bit ago lol
i don't follow memes but a lot of my friends say it
In general i hope bethesda's game companions get improved but in regards to the elder scrolls, i feel like there are some things that should be changed.
Two main things that should be added is a companion "wheel" of sorts with basic commands (something similar to New vegas') but maybe with some other additions and tweaks.
And second thing is roles. I feel companions would be much more useful and not just as a pack mule if they had an actual viable role to play in combat. Every companion mostly does the same thing in skyrim and fallout 4, except with the exception of mages. But even then they still kind of end up rushing an enemy.
Roles should either be applied via game or you (though the game making a character a certain way is better imo). Stuff like "tanks" or "healers". Of course with some more creative flair. But i mainly feel like if a companion actually provided benefits then they'd be much more useful.
less companions, but more fleshed out
Just, improved basic functionality first. On most things really.
Bethesda has the weird position of being poised to make some of the best games in the industry, but always stop short of actually refining any of those ideas
Iām just hoping theyāll be more like 4
Tes has never been a companions rpg
Improving the companions system isn't going to make it a "companions rpg".
pretty sure Todd H. mentioned on some interview or other how he wants to improve on companions in the future.. And no, can't bring the source
are you saying that us wanting a better companion system is turning tes into a "companions rpg" because if so you're very wrong
No, im just saying they shouldn't really be the plot focus
No one mentioned them being a plot focus.
Shrug
Where did we say they should be? We asked for better systems. We never asked for companions to be focused on more then the plot. Stop saying things that never happened just to support your argument.
You dont need to be so aggressive dude, I misunderstood the conversation, my bad
What happened to the champion star that increased resource gain from heavy attacks? Is that not getting added in Blackwood?
Tenacity, thatās what it was
so uh, i'm watching some 'critical role', ESO blackwood special? could somebody tell me in one sentence who the heck are these people, please? i mean hosts, obvs, not the actors x) do they make video games videos or like D&D crap or what? fanks
š¤·āāļø I only heard them advertising about the ESO stream...
yeah, same. There's real live Laura Bailey btw, never seen her before
Critical Role is a D&D stream that has been going on weekly for the past several years. The DM and Players are voice actors that have been in a lot of different games and other media. It is probably the most watched D&D stream online.
ah, that makes sense
Voice actors who get together to play DnD. The ESO stream was sponsored by ZOS
Sometimes they do promotional one-shots like this. They did one for Doom Eternal too.
top quality D&D, like? good idea, i suppose
https://youtu.be/E-YCzpYDIyA for those wondering
This episode is sponsored by Bethesda and ZeniMax Online Studios. Check out The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood right now at http://elderscrollsonline.com/buy
Game Master Matthew Mercer leads a group of restaurateurs on an adventure inspired by The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood!
This originally aired on Monday, May 24th on http://twitch.tv/c...
never liked RPing with dice, myself
I wouldn't mind doing it if I had someone to do it with
there's lots of people RPing in text chat in ESO. Whole guilds, some hardcore, some light. Plenty of opportunity
I'm a little late, but most of the Critical Role cast are voice actors. Matt Mercer you've probably heard in many games and anime.
I heard some of em have voice acted for ESO too
a-ha, so the host is professional, too? was wondering why he's so tusking good x)
checked other names. Nope, can't remember. 'Cept Laura, of cource <3
this is fantastic :') they just throw impovised jokes. those few D&Ds i vew watched were plaeyd by just players, some youtubers or somethings. These critical role guys are pros
could i know this Mercer? what he's famous for
nope
Leon from Resident Evil
nah ,Laura's been around since early 2000's Bloodrayne and such. Can't beat that
McCready from Fallpit 4
Should have started with MacReady *- * well, okay
He goes back to the english dub of Akira
Then youve got Liam, who voiced Illidan, Death in Darksiders... uuuh
Basically every brooding emo dude of the last decade
Travis Willingham is Laura Bailey's husband, but i can't remember what he's done.
which one's that? eager to serve guy or sandwiches guy?
I don't think Travis or Liam are in this one based on the picture
Haven't watched it yet
ah, gotcha
Looks like... Taliesin, dunno, Laura, Matt, dunno and Sam
Sam Reigal is an absolute wild card. He's spent the last 2 years playing a middle aged female Halfling who spent half that time turned into a goblin on their main show
never liked such over-the-top chars. But then, never seen them played properly
Yeah it depends on the groul dynamic
But, i personally really enjoy Critical Role
Its my monday must-watch
think i'm getting it. Beginning to. These actors did VO for Blackwood \o/
They also did a oneshot for Doom Eternal
And way way back, when they started, they had to contact Beth to get permission to use the TES soundtracks
Because that's what Matt would play in the background during their home games.
So, you know. Full Circle!
Matt like, Firor? don't think i follow
ah, he's not just Mercer.. Right
Lol
You should be able to see the size of an enemy's soul under their name in parentheses.
Was it?
They uuuuh... They are not the most familiar with the setting
Oh no
This isnāt a issue but it hurts me also
Eh, ESo basically just makes hte Green Pact a lifestyle choice anyway
Like long ears donāt hurt the world other than other high elves will laugh at you
Oh...
Didnāt they show off the Ooze and what happens if you break the pact? Iām positive they did something with it
Youāre tempting me to watch the one shot now
If you like mediocre roleplay
In eso yeah
It's no CR
The ooze in eso was fun but the area it took place in was boring
Eeeeh... sort of. They heavily imply that the Spinners have to send you to the Ooze, it doesn't happen automatically
Yeh, regardless I donāt remember the green pact being so minor in ESO
It is a major pet peeve for me
Green pact was massive in eso
The green pact?
How ESo handled it, yeah
I liked it myself, it never interested me till ESO lol
Way, way too tame for me. They treat it like being Vegan, rather that a divine compact that dictates Bosmeri behaviour
Pet peeve of mine is when people think all bosmer follow the green pact and think it follows outside valenwood
Okay but the oneshot is in grahtwood
In order to be punished for violating it, you need a Spinner to know you broke the rules and curse you for it
That's my issue here
Maybe the ale was imported
There is a lot more non-Bosmer presence in ESO in Grahtwood than there seemed to be in later centuries, so it could fit
Mushroom Farmer (jk)
Remember in a dance of fire where thereās that gravy meat tea? That was fun
Yeah
See, that's my problem with Bosmer in ESO...
The tree-homes, the interpretive differences about the Pact... It's just so... Uninteresting
But i'm an anthropologist by education, the notion of a culture developing with the inability to eat or even use the local plantlife is a fascinating concept to me.
pretty much all cultures in ESO are just explored superficially. although I think they added some nice stuff to argonians, maybe even khajiit
Khajiit had a full chapter on them though
They had alot of expansion on them, it was glorious
Yeah, same tbh. The post-launch content stuff is much nicer
Like, compare the base game argonian stuff to murkmire
Murkmire is amazing
I wish they would overhaul the base game zones, but there's no money in it
Yeah, they had to add a bunch of loopholes since almost all the Dominion zones are in Valenwood and ESO has a pretty extensive food and drink system integral to the game, and woodworking
So like, your character would be constantly breaking the green pact :V
which you can do, if you want to roleplay. just eating your fallen enemies is difficult if you aren't a werewolf
Though Clockwork City handled it better imo. The wood and clothing nodes are scraps left by other people and the only food in it is the tasteless paste
One of the NPC's in Davin's Watch sums up my complaints with Bows and Shields in ESO pretty well
"Not so long ago, i would be teaching you to craft the best equipment out of Chitin and Bonemold. Now with the trade of the Pact, and the need for quick arms, we're working with... Wood. Like Nords."
That's in Mournhold I believe
ooh, and this game has also brought Laemon Tuttle to our world <3
Talos is jesus reminds of something. Hah, Emil describes his take on the Dark Brotherhood as dark version of christian religion. Sithis is god, Night Mother is Mary, that stuff
If thereās a arena and blades channel. Then whereās the redguard and battlespire channel?
(Iām not being serious btw)
I donāt know a whole lot about battlespire but it would be good to learn more about it
Ya know, you need to pay for it and steam doesnāt have it. Makes me lose motivation to wanna get it
ah! but for that you want to go GOG
and if you buy any BEthesda game on GOG, they also give away working Arena and Daggerfall, win10-ready, like
I heard battlespire was supposed to be a dlc for daggerfall
I could always just watch a lets play of battlespire :P
I donāt really like playing games
Oh god I tried playing legends but I cant understand card games at all š
It was originally going to be but they changed their mind pretty quickly on that.
Yeah, I say āI heardā but I know it was actually originally supposed to be a part of daggerfall but it was changed
Gotta use em weasel words :P
Battlespire's got some very fun dialogue, you should give it a shot
I know your player character is very sassy in battlespire
Like no matter the dialogue theyāre gonna be passive aggressive
Yep, very flavorful writing
Tbh at this state I donāt think Iām going to play tes 6 when it comes out. Iām not interested in playing anything anymore :P
It happens. My interest in things often fluctuates
i just want to say i like how lgbt friendly the elder scrolls is.
Itās cool, agreed
Honey there is philosophy in my elder scrolls lore
What?
There is philosophy. In my elder scrolls lore.
get the waiter
I'd like one elder scrolls lore with a side of philosophy to go please
