I am very mixed on the show (1st episode only so far). It's looks good, seems to follow lore (though the vaults connecting was new one). So much matierial to cover and i think it was done well to intro the non-player to Fallout. Fans of Fallout games will most likely love it. I like it a lot. BUT....the ultra=violence so early in the show...and how what "humor" there was ...was more like a collection of "Easter Eggs" only PLAYERS will get...i think this is possibly a problem for drawing in the kind of viewership Amazon will expect. So..a tenative ok from me, but with reservations

I'd say the connection of vaults isn't surprising. There are tons of vaults we know nothing about and doesn't seem any reason why two wouldn't be together. They do wild stuff in some of them, so doent see why connecting two wouldn't be some kind of experiment

I think the t60 in the show is a combination of the Practical suits and CGI, the CGI may be used to clean up some of the goofier movements of the Practical suit because it's so bulky.

It was a good attempt at a multiplater fallout. while i prefer the singleplayer, i think they really made it better over time and more in line with what the community expects.

My big problem with 76, though i still like it, was the lack of interaction with NPC's and other players. Then the over-abundance of "magic" weapons and armor that led to all the game busting cheats.

I've been playing fallout since fallout 2 and have played all the fallout games (1, 2, tactics, brotherhood of steel, 3, new vegas, shelter, 4, 76) and currently on episode 6. || So far everything I have seen seems well within the possibility for fallout and various things that I did think might be an issue are still plausible like power armor with jetpack arms. The fallout show does showcase the various aspects that make it feel like a fallout show. So far I am quite satisfied with it, this show really does showcase the potential and possibilities for fallout and does envelope it within its episodes. ||

Just watched the first two episodes, with a very nice roast chicken dinner. Absolutely loved them. They got everything right here that they got wrong with Rings of Power, good save Amazon! Love all the nods to the game, in respect of items and references etc. Love the method of screenplay, some good actors doing well at their roles. TBH, i think they should have gone full 18 rated and really gone to town on stuff, but I forgive them as they need to maximise their audience, and there isnt much they can’t do with a 15 rating nowadays. I’ve decided I’ll do two episodes a day with my main meal (I have it at lunchtime), so it feels like watching a movie series. I do like the letterboxing.

||im also including the voice modulation in that statement. that was obviously prevalent in the games but not to as much of an extent. if it were not possible for a bos knight npc to hold a gatling laser, standing still on the prydwen right in front of the bridge, why would they include that in the game? im not even commenting on the logistics of it, just stating that it felt weird to watch them walk, for so long, across a large airfield the way they did. it was very obviously a stylistic choice for creating an effect and lasting impression on those new to the franchise||

This is a fantastic television show that is predicated on a vision of Fallout that I fundamentally disagree with. That leaves me feeling... ambivalent. It's more frustrating to me than if it were just dumb and bad or great and right up my alley, that's for sure.

It's also implied knights rarely get out of their armor but I am sure weapons are available to grab at a moments notice if need be. The walk scene was them returning from a mission to get their armor maintenanced as evident by the following scene where they look at them in the mechanics bay.||

yeah i was going to say they did have fallout76 channel i guess they made it a role only feature. to be honest i never liked fallout and multiplayer. maybe when things are touched up a bit in the future but it kinda doesnt go together well. what would need to be touched up in specific? i know bethesda may not have had a story mode/ single player mode with their multiplayer games but here me out. next fallout that comes you can add a multiplayer feature however make sure theres an options to play storymode first then you can do multiplayer as like a chronological order. kinda like gta 5 and online. also another good feature make it to where people could join your single player game but as a lan or invite only kinda like dying lights multiplayer feature. like an inspiration.

you can play just about the entire game without ever interacting with people. there are optional group events and instances you can choose to do with randoms, though some can be soloed. the map is massive enough and the server size small enough that you probably won’t run into someone else unless you’re trying to.

It’s fun. Most of the time I’m running around Solo. I’d give it a go, it’s 1000% better than when it first came out. I don’t play high risk, I just play the standard one so I’m not getting blown up

I think it compliments Fallout 4 well. It’s no replacement but it’s good

Fast Traveling with Caps are ultimately very minor, you make so many in time that fast traveling ultimately remains a non issue when using Caps. Not only that but Major Locations are free Fast Travel. You honestly don’t even need Workshops, you can make a bunch of materials from getting them across the wasteland to begin with. The Pip-boy no longer freezing time is ultimately whatever as it honestly doesn’t make much of a difference besides being more accurate. And lastly, Laser Gun designs are fine at least for me.

hey guys, i've downloaded new vegas again and I'm looking for a very cool mod I had back in the days but it's a bit difficult to find among the thousands of mods on nexusmods. it was a very cool armor/clothes mod for female characters, it was goth / punk raider style and as lore-friendly as a punk outfit can be in NV. maybe it had something like "toxic" or "poison" in its name, but i didnt find it yet.

I've been working on a fan project for fallout, resumed progress on it now that the show has come out

Called fallout: icebound, set around ronto and the great lakes region as a whole

Basically going to make a solid D&D-esque setting with it

I've also been working on a revamped SPECIAL & skill system

I'd be curious to hear feedback

One of the key things is that now every SPECIAL (except Luck) has 3 skills attached

Strength now has Carrying in addition to Melee and Unarmed
Perception has Awareness in addition to Energy Weapons and Explosives (Lockpick is now part of Sneak)
Endurance has Health, Immune System and Survival
Charisma now has the Leadership skill, which affects Companions and interactions with animals
Agility gets the Movement skill, affecting dodge chance and run speed

Luck adds +1 to every skill and +1% crit chance (with base of 5%), while every other SPECIAL adds +3 to the starting and +5 to the maximum

One of the key things I think would make Fallout more RPG-like is having SPECIAL affect your max skill

Like, with 1 Intelligence your max Science would be 55, excluding bonuses from chems, outfits etc

I think that's one of the key problems of Fallout

I mean, even in New Vegas you can max every skill

Someone with the strength of a wet noodle shouldn't be able to train to effectively wield a super sledge
