This is a relatively small suggestion, but one I feel is important for console players.

Add a menu for inputting commands. It's incredibly useful for fixing problems like broken quests.

Would love to see more interactive npcs, maybe in the form of some DLC, maybe they use newer VA's so that the dialogue isn't too jarring, but yeah, I think it'd be cool to see npcs that can develop and grow, to a point where they might feel like an actual companion, as I feel many of the vanilla npcs can feel interesting, but shallow. Could be pretty cool imo

I agree with Ai for NPC-s, it is nowhere near to Skyrim one, and many things which Skyrim have, are simply not in this game. I understand wish to be faitfull to original, but some modernisation is always good, and improving Ai, too. Another problem is map, which is in 21 century, STILL grey, instead full fledged 3D color map !!! Then, no local map button, leveling is only possible when you sleep somewhere ( in Skyrim you press Tab and can level up immidietly)....

I wish it'd be possible to get quest rewards that either leveled up with you or you can acquire new versions of them at your level (but at 0 value to prevent any gold exploit) like how the deluxe dlc gear works.

It just sucks that I redeemed the escucheon of chorrol at an early level and now am stuck with a worse shield than if I had redeemed the quest now. I feel like the count of chorrol should just have a dialogue option to give a new one at my current level but has 0 gold value.

New areas are not really needed as the game is already vast and the current landscapes and towns look beautiful, however They can be a bit empty/sparse at times. So if DLC is a possibility then one that adds a bit more life to the already existing environments in game, meaning npcs, enemies, and wildlife would be great.

It’s a pity they have never appeared in any Elder Scrolls game, despite being mentioned in lore books as likely extinct due to a devastating plague near the end of the Second Era.

DLC Proposal: The Return of the Lilmothiit

Summary:
A long-forgotten race returns to the edges of civilization. Along the southeastern borderlands of Cyrodiil and Black Marsh, rumors spread of fox-like people emerging from ancient ruins and swamplands. The Lilmothiit, believed extinct since the Thrassian Plague and the rise of Argonian dominance in southern Tamriel, are alive—and they are not content to remain forgotten.

Setting & Themes:
Set in the border regions near the Topal Bay, this DLC explores ancient ruins reclaimed by swamp, the volatile politics between Argonians, Khajiit smugglers, and Imperial settlers, and the mystery of a race thought erased by history. Players will navigate a rich tapestry of cultural tension, ancient curses, and emerging civil unrest as the Lilmothiit reassert their presence in Tamriel.

Plot Hook:
Reports of strange sightings near the ruined city of Blackrose spark concern in the Elder Council. You are sent to investigate, only to uncover a growing Lilmothiit presence deep in the marshes. Some seek peaceful trade and land rights; others whisper of vengeance against the Argonians and Imperials alike. Meanwhile, forgotten relics of the Second Era stir once more—relics that may have caused the Lilmothiit’s near-extinction.

Lore Justification:
Though referenced sparsely, the Lilmothiit (literally "Fox-Folk") have appeared in Elder Scrolls lore as a beastfolk race related to Khajiit and possibly Bosmer. Their apparent disappearance following the Thrassian Plague left their fate ambiguous—ideal for reintroduction in a compelling narrative.

This probably has been stated already before by other users, but I'd love if all the keys you were carrying were condensed into a key ring or maybe a key subcategory in the misc tab that you can collapse down? for easier inventory management. Especially when lots of keys are marked as quest items so you can't stow them away somewhere.

All borders having visible qualities, just like how the Black Marsh, Hammerfell, and Skyrim borders have visible qualities. For example, you can see The Throat of The World at the Skyrim border, you can also see the aurora, etc. With the Black Marsh border, you can see the biome transition to swamp. The border to Hammerfell looks appropriate as well, as the terrain changes from forest to The Gold Coast. The same should be done for everywhere else, including making Red Mountain visible and adding some mushroom trees at the Morrowind border. The West Weald is already a small region, but the very edge could be an ecotone similar to driving from New Mexico to Colorado. It’s already lightly forested with meadows, just transition that very lightly into a Shortgrass Steppe or something like that

Rework player races.
They are unbalanced.
Allow for players to have more race customization options with passive and active spells. I shouldn’t have to play as a Breton just to get innate magical resistance or a Redguard just to use Adrenaline Rush or resist disease. Etc. which brings me to my next point. There are bad racial stereotypes. Claiming that Redguard are the best warriors naturally is hogwash. No one is born superior to another based on their ethnicity. A great warrior is made from dedication, training and urgency. You should consider adding new races to the Lore too because Your human characters are all inspired from Europeans and Africans. Other ethnic groups exist! Indians, Asians, Arabic etc.

I would say, let us alter our characters on console after they are made like pc players console commands offer. Sheathing shields would be great, add more hand to hand gauntlets to the game. Inventory sorting options, which I am pretty sure are already on the way. Call our horses perhaps? Fix lighting a bit because my characters hair color changes wildly every time they get wet or a bright light source is near.

game doesn't use half my processor, 80% my card, and runs fine, until it doesn't... huge stutter spikes every time i change cells in open world... i dont think the combination of unreal and creation is very good... or maybe requires more optimization... i think nowadays they make games for consoles mainly and run them on very potent PCs and forget that the majority of people use entry or mid range GPUs... so, more optimization cmon!!

For the item itself: It's a sword cane! Same move set as the Katana.

It seems a game breaking bug is in the remaster that was originally in the first few versions of OG oblivion, in the shivering isles during the house of Dementia quest you must eavesdrop in on a Khajiit and seducer, if they catch you they announce they’ll talk tomorrow, in which case they never do
This causes the quest to be unable to progress, and if anyone has no previous save files then this locks the DLC forever

Hi, could the quest “Doran's Family Troubles” be implemented in this version of the game? Their NPC packages got overridden in the original game so now the couple just hang out in their locked house in chorrol where you can’t talk/interact with them at all. I'm sure others have pointed this out, but there is still a serious problem with the enemy level scaling. After a certain point (once you start maxing out attributes) the enemies continue to get stronger as the player levels but the player does not. This means that the player must either stop leveling at a certain point or become much weaker than enemies. Perhaps some kind of level cap for enemies, or some other solution, could be imlemented? Since the player leveling has been improved, it would be great if this were improved too.

Howdy all,

For feedback, wanted to drop by and say the Oblivion/Skyrim style inventory system is actually a deal-breaker to not buy the game. I much prefer the Morrowind grid style menus for inventory, shops, chests. Etc. Adding that in actually goes a long way for anyone on PC especially. I like to see everything at a glance, mouse over it if wanted and click and drag items.
Playing through the original Oblivion, https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/9937?tab=description, is a must have mod for me. Just for comparison of what I am talking about.

It would be easy enough if implemented to also include a menu option to toggle between the 2 styles.

QOL: When you hover over item in inventory, show us quickly with what effects the item is enchanted and how many charges it has. In case of soul gems show us its state. (just like in original oblivion...)
The current implementation of this is by having to open another tab which is very clumsy.

Please add a quest to kill the countess of Leyawiin that can be triggered after she has been made non-essential lol. We stop all kind of corruption in Oblivion and as an Argonian I can’t stand that I have to let her get away with how she tortures them. I know I can just kill her after she’s non-essential but there could be such a fulfilling side quest made out of that and I think it’s worth exploring because a lot of players play as Argonians. Would be nice to avenge those mistreated where we can.

Fix the two handed weapons. They are so so so much slower than in the original game and you never changed their damage values to compensate. They are practically unusable and even the best two handed weapons can't even compete with mid or lower one handed weapons

Scale up weapons in some way to make them do more damage to be somewhat up to par with stealth and or destruction magic, because unless your stacking weaknesses to magic and your weapon has a specific enchant your not gonna do much of any damage on Master difficulty.

Uncap attributes and skills so they provide benefits beyond 100, and so that Luck doesn't become useless once you reach the endgame.
They should still be naturally capped at 100, but enchantments or buffs should grant some kind of benefit beyond that.
In most cases (basically everything except magic), the formulas would require very few changes. Magic, however, should probably have some form of diminishing returns beyond 100—just to ensure you don't drive the cost too low.

It would be cool to have add transmog for armor, maybe add it to the lvl 100 perk? That way you can look how you want, ie. half robe and ebony armor but would be all enchanted gear made yourself. Lvl 100 light armor let's you transmog light armor only, but it can be any armor, light or heavy, but can not transmog heavy until it's leveled 100.

I'l like the ability to create scrolls, you could buy or find paper, ink and quills of enchantment and take them to an enchanting altar. You would have to be able to cast the spell both in terms of level and magicka amount to enchant it on a scroll, but not to cast it from the scroll. Thus you could drink a fortify magicka potion and write a spell that summons daedroth for 2 minutes and cast it from the scroll. It could also be interesting to have unique or rare quills made from specific monsters, Hagraven quill, Harpy quill, Cliffracer quil etc.

While I know many people would like to fully rebuild Kvatch, I think a more mild approach would be better and more realistic, as in simply have the option to upgrade the refugees tents into wooden shacks, and perhaps somewhat rehabilitate the Kvatch arena, allowing the grand champion to conduct exhibition matches there to raise funds for the reconstruction of the city.

2 handed weapons could do with a bit of a change up in how they're handled. Currently they're slow and you can't block mod swing which means you're mostly limited to a single swing of damage.

My suggestion is to allow them to be able to cancel a swing mod animation to block (like the mod that's available) and also give them a damage buff so that it's worth taking. Currently the short swords are the best because they're fast and have a 4 hit combo attached to them. If 2 handed are going to be slow they need a bigger damage output per hit. I would say bump them up by 3 points of damage each , not huge but a noticeable difference. And speed up the animation by about 0.2x speed (or make it a perk at say 50 skill)

Might not be possible with the remaster however, a new game "setlist" might be cool, to give us more ways to play oblivion.

What's always definitely bothering me instantly is the washed-out look of the Oblivion Remaster. It is artificial, a rather try-hard measure at a different style, and holds it back in visual fidelity and immersion. It always keeps one at a distance. Sometimes it actually looks ugly, e.g. at dawn or sundown when it the lighting looks like it is caused by smog. The Imperial City in particular looks generally far more "dull", literally, than the old version and not as interesting. And direct sunlight, without any clouds, appears to be greyish...
The less artifically limited colours of the original actually create a more natural look. The Remaster has altered clime, perhaps to "skyrimmify" it a bit more (a needless pandering), but in the clime that the original depicts, and "despite" some fantasy flair (how is that bad? Well, this is artificial too), it actually looks more natural overall, more like one is actually walking under a sun in nature. There are real vistas which are not that different. And it feels less detached. The music generally also fit more.
And let's keep in mind that this approach of putting some artificial colour limit into a game is far from common and completely independent of style. I don't know the particulars of it, but the overall impression is often below sRGB (it is not the same as colour space, a different method).
Well, you will consider this overexplained to some extent.

It seems like the security perks work differently from the original, and in a way thay makes them less useful. In the original, getting to a certain level would mean that a certain number (let's say three) of pins would stay up when a pick broke. In the remaster, the perk causes that number of pins to fall instead. But if I'm picking a hard lock, and break a pick, all the pins fall, making the perk useless. I think the perks should be corrected so they work like in the original.

Make all armor and weapons be available in merchant stores. I'm lvl 33 and the only armor piece I don't have is an elven helmet. Enemies don't spawn with it anymore.

Edit: it makes no sense that merchants won't have any higher tier armor than mithril / orcish considering how bandits and marauders run around in daedric / ebony and glass armor.

Given that the block actually scales past Strength 100, I think that most abilities should have some post 100 scaling (to allow for buff spells to have meaning late game).
The caveat is that post-100 they should scale with diminishing returns.
Weapons - up to 50% more effect
Unarmed- up to 300% more (because of how low it is to start).
Spells - up to additional 50% effectiveness. This would ALSO counter debuff by light / heavy armor with heavy investment.
Security - increase gold and gear found.
Block - reduce damage to armor or additional stamina cost discount. (Bash damage should be nerfed to only additional 50% like weapon damage)
Acrobatics - Already post-100 scales, but give it a discount to dodge.

I think an optional (while keeping the original as well) rebalancing of the races would be a great optional feature. Imperials are very undertuned compared to Bretons. Just like with the backgrounds give more customization maybe we could have two different load outs of passives, one the original and another for a more balanced and thematic version of the racial perks.

Improvements to the follower system would be greatly appreciated. I'd like basic instructions, carry this, equip this, use ranged weapons, use restoration, use conjuration etc. Also a dog, it wouldn't be terribly helpful in combat but it could be useful in finding alchemy ingredients. "Help me find more of this." select an ingredient and the dog will begin moving towards it if its within a certain area. Nirnroot could be excluded as a special case.

Make two handed weapons better, they are terrible compared to one handed weapons, they are slower, and have only a tiny bit more range, and they do the same amount of damage which makes no sense, because you would hope the swings of a sword hurt more when using not only a bigger blade but also both of your hands behind an attack. They’re is no reason to run two handers either up their damage, make them swing faster, or increase their range. Or do all of the above as that is what it will likely take for them to be worth running again.

The acrobatics skill doesn’t effect jump height nearly as much as the original game, or the remaster has put an unnecessary cap on jump height the the original didn’t have. Even fortifying acrobatics to 200 in the remaster doesn’t allow you to even jump as high as having 100 acrobatics in the original, and it was super fun to fortify acrobatics and jump super high in the original, and putting a cap on it in the remaster is completely unnecessary. It’s fundamentally a remaster, and while I understand changing or fixing some issues that the original game had, I don’t understand why features like this have been removed or changed, it seems completely unnecessary and removes something that was really fun in the original for no reason

A lot of your in game armor is ugly (especially the helmets) Players want to be able to optimize the meta and still be able to customize their own unique appearances. Also allow us to improve the armor rate quality of all existing armors to match the meta. Currently the best armor are perfect madness/ Amber with daedric/ Order/ glass trailing behind.

One of the main quests allows you to leave after you enter the cave and talk to Harrow to become a Mythic Dawn initiate, but if you follow through with the ritual you can not leave. It might be cool to be able to leave after doing the ritual for a potential roleplay Mythic Dawn aligned character. Possibly even a follow up quest to join the ‘evil’ side and do a couple quests for them for dlc. This, an option to destroy the thieves guild, and a way to intentionally fail Mephala’s quest (but still have access to Hermaus Mora’s) might open a couple more roleplaying opportunities for both evil aligned characters and good.

Please Please buff the two handed weapons, they are about 3x slower than the original and seem to have the exact same reach as longswords. straight up improving the damage by about 1.35 ish or 1.5 should be enough. Also pretty please add a "classic" mode that removes sprint, restores stats to baseline oblivion (For example, I think you ran faster in OG oblivion, at least from my back to back testing), and re-introduces things like stagger. Also PLEASE factor fatigue into melee damage again, not being able to knock people out with fists is insane to me, likewise with the free 50% stamina replenish from being staggered.

I feel like I run out Stamia way too quickly, regardless of what I upgrade. Perhaps re-balance stamina consumption per swing. Its not unmanageable but I have to use a lot of potions and spells to buff myself to survive most fights.

Also, armor feels like paper. I have to stop after every big fight to repair my almost broken armor.

Make Daedric Weapons even more powerful but maybe make the level requirements a bit higher, or fix the difficulty scaling so that we don’t need to stack weakness to magic on an enchanted weapon just to do decent damage. As it stands, the pet scaling from the wizard's tower varies. Flame familiars stop scaling at lvl12, frost at 18, and storm at 22, eventually rendering them useless past that point.

I suggest an additional upgrade added to Aurelinwae for the Atronach altar that allows the summoning of "potent" elemental familiars. (Term taken from Skyrim's conjuration tree upgrade) that scale better with the player. That way you can pick your favorite elemental while still being useful throughout the game.

Enchanting weapons seems kind of useless because you only get like 19 charges. Honestly though I enjoy being encouraged to use Artifact and Unique weapons anyway. I suggest adding more unique meta weapons that are different than what we have. For example there isn’t a short sword of electricity on par like Chillrend is. We are lacking unique battle axes too. Now I know we are only limited to one suggestion so I’m just going to leave a few emoji’s to remind you what I think would be crucial (🕹️🕹️, 🐺)

Would like to suggest Buffing two handed weapons in terms of both reach and attack speed as currently the attack speed is so ridiculously slow with such a small difference in attack damage between one and two handed weapons of the equivalent material that i can not justify using a two hander and sacrificing both the attack speed and ability to block before the enemy can hit you for marginally higher damage than the same weapon but one handed with extra defence and ability to block and attack twice in the same amount of time it take for you to get off your second swing. the animation also makes it look like i'm deliberately waiting for the opponent to have there turn and attack, this attack animation needs to be more fluid and allow me to block quicker after my first swing. also the reach on most two handed weapons are way to short and do look very silly especially when it comes to the two handed warhammers that are so short and stubby, they should have much longer handles on them so that the wielder can get as much leverage and force onto the enemy they can.

Example what I mean can be different settings instead of the typical difficulty.
Each setting would be impact of skills. From player aspect and one towards the player from other sources... example: Npc and player themselves.
Also the other part is impact of skills from npc to npc.
This way you can not just make things be a simple difficulty slider but also allow for things to be better tailored to various situations and roleplay sorts.

the punching animations for hand-to-hand are pretty good, but the first two basic punches are lacking punch. they have no wind up or anything, it's just a straight fist out. it'd be better and more impactful to have some wind up of some sort, like the arm/hand moving back before the punch outwards.

It has been broken since an update to the older game but I remember a time when things didn't fly off the shelves every time you walked into a building. I think they could add a bit more variety to the legion guards. The cosmopolitan heart of the empire at the intersection of everything only has a bunch of imperials?

There should be an odd orc or elf, or redguard now and again. And they’ve already brought in new voice actors, a few lines of dialogue and a change of the race/gender of a handful of guards would be all they need.

It would be huge for immersion and it would fix something they never got to in the original because of data and time constraints.

Can anyone else confirm the maximum random Oblivion Gates that open after completing Finding The Heir? In classic Oblivion you would get 10 fixed gates, along with supposedly 15 random gates, which along with the Kvatch Gate would total to a 26 max Oblivion Gates possible after Finding the Heir and pre Dagon's Shrine.

HOWEVER in Oblivion Remastered the most I've been able to find is 10 random Oblivion Gates, which only totals up to 21. This could due to back luck, but statistically it's very unlikely as I've ran through almost the entire map without a single new Oblivion Gates whereas before they were easy to stumble upon.

If someone could post this on Reddit too that would be nice.

I know a lot of people have a lot of mechanical suggestions, but something I'd like to suggest is more of a simple adjustment, I think, and that sticks to the original soul of the game.

🖌️ Color correction to outfits and armor.
It seems like there is some hit or miss. Almost everything is beautifully remastered but retains that original charm and reminds me why this game has remained one of my most beloved experiences growing up. I don't really think I have a purist mentality towards this issue either, as I've enjoyed a lot of the Armor, Weapon and Clothing revisions. Brusef Amelion? Love the changes. Then some things are oddly off.
Just to name a few:

1️⃣ Ebony Arms and Armor. Love the look of Ebony Armor in the remaster, but noticed the embellishments on the armor don't match the gold color of the Shield and Weapons embellishments. This isn't nearly as big of a "deal" as some other color issues, but I did notice it.

2️⃣ Robe hoods. I found a few that don't quite match their respective robes. The colors are visibly different. Again not as big of a "deal" as I'd say others may be.

3️⃣ Blackwood Armor. It appears to be regular steel with a small engraving on the stomach. The original was a black steel in color.

4️⃣ Skingrad Guard Armor. For some reason is Bubblegum/Hot Pink. Very harsh contrast to the red Skingrad represents. The contrast just feels incredibly out of place.

5️⃣Black and Burgundy Outfit. While in the original this outfit did have a very faint purple tint, it was still well, Black and Burgundy with dark yellow/gold accent. Now the color scheme lends it more towards a cartoonish "Pimp Coat" you'd see in some movie or cartoon with it's Grimace purple, very light burgundy and kraft cheese yellow.

either making it where everything, everyone does scale and so does their equipment, or that what they get makes more logical sense and has a cap.

Pinarus Inventius shouldn't get daedric armor, imo. nor should velywen benarus have a daedric longsword.

but, if you just want to keep it as it is, then at least update the level scaling and equipment so that characters in the fighters guild, like modryn oreyn or vilana donton doesn't just have iron equipment at level 20. it's unimmersive

I'd like to see a rebuild Kvatch questline after the main quest is completed. Perhaps you could discover the remains of St Jiub and erect a statue over his grave. Jiub thrusting a spear into the belly of a cliff racer. Depending on your faction affiliation you could receive the option to erect certain buildings. Arch mage characters could build a new mages guild, Dark Brotherhood characters could hide a new sanctuary somewhere in Kvatch, etc. Also exorcising the spirits and rebuilding the Bruma mages guild.

Too many times do I have to wait for someone to be at a certain location, but instead of teleporting there after I wait until the right time, and no matter how much I wait after, they just want to physically walk the entire way there and there's no way to speed it up. It can take quite a while for certain ncps depending on how far away their home is.

I was trying to just ignore it, but I think that the sprinting animations, and a few others, really need to be changed or altered slightly. They just look far too overdramatic. Also, so do some of the walking ones. Characters seem to hunch forward when they walk, despite standing up straight normally. The player character when moving backwards in third person also leans backwards unnecessarily like they are trying to play limbo.

Make recharging weapons easier. Selecting each gem individually then being thrown out to the top of the inventory is very annoying.

Make it so you can recharge a weapon with multiple gems in one menu like Skyrim.

Hey, y’all. I got a new suggestion that you’ll like the most. I want to see the Hood of the Crimson Scar to pair well with Raiment of the Crimson Scar.

Part 2: Light Helmet of Valor and Heavy Helmet of Valor to pair well with Light Raiment of Valor and Heavy Raiment Armor. Meaning having the option of two things:

  1. Light Raiment of Valor with Light Helmet of Valor
  2. Heavy Raiment of Valor with Heavy Helmet of Valor

Part 3: I want the Hood of the Crimson Scar look like the ones from the mod for OG Oblivion that was a Raiment of the Crimson Scar Hood for OG Oblivion. That is a must.

Please add a Key ring separate inventory for keys , most of the time literally nobody needs to scroll through and look at every key they have in game unless to check if you have it. Simple solution is a key ring you click on it to open the key rings sub inventory.

This was bad in the original too, it would be really nice to see that fixed. late game you get so many keys it just clutters the inventory and most have no carry weight.

Improvements to spell management would be very appreciated. I’d love a way to delete spells or hide them.

I made a bunch just experimenting and now they really clog up my spell inventory and many are completely useless or obsolete now that I’ve leveled up.

With gear you can put it away in a chest or drop it or sell it but with spells anything you’ve ever learned is permanently in the list.

If not delete spells at least make it possible to hide spells.

I think it would be hard to implement nicely, but argonian horns should not disappear when wearing helmets. It is very off-putting, especially for characters with large or many horns, and it has been present for a while now. Also, tails shouldn't disappear either, but I haven't seen this myself yet.

Thought of a new, potentially interesting suggestion:

Proper climbing mechanics.

I've seen so many people cheese their way up mountains. Certain surfaces being climbable would be a nice quality-of-life and immersion change. Obviously, indoor locations wouldn't be climbable, but for outdoors, it'd be really cool. It could even use stamina to climb, and athletics/acrobatics could have an effect on how much stamina it uses and how fast you climb, respectively.

Make it possible to save ||Ma'zaddha and possibly Muurine. Ma'zaddha was possibly originally intended to be able to be saved, as he has lines under rumors in the creation kit he would have said as the questline progresses, that he doesn't get to since he's dead. It's sad for these to be scrapped as I like the character. Also makes New Sheoth feel a bit more empty to lose TWO of it's eccentric citizens. It's fine with Glarthir, because his quest can be avoided, but you have no choice with this one as it's part of the main quest. If you want to enjoy their company you have to just... never do the quest. Could make it so if you get to his house fast enough, he doesn't get killed and instead gives you the note himself, but if you take too long it happens anyway. I think it still works as you kill the Duchess of Crucible yourself later anyway if you so choose.||

Allow main stats to be increased by leveling up beyond 100, and allow agilty/strength to increase their damage benefits past 100. Currently it feels like you are forced to abuse an enchanting table (to abuse dmg-type+dmg-type-weakness+magic-weakness) to stand any chance as a melee character at higher levels.

Please Increase claymore attack speed to match the original (currently it's 1/3 speed, and claymores aren't unwieldy weapons irl), also allow shield bash with melee weapons, add I-frames to dodge (it doesn't really work), allow animation cancels into blocking and/or dodging during swings, allow a way to stagger with heavy weapons, etc. Melee with 2H swords is just awful atm. I don't care about damage, I can make that work, the combat mechanics are what hold it back.

Balance the Oblivion Difficulty Setting Adept to Expert
The old Oblivion scaling system was done with a slider and was flinky however the bump from Adept to Expert is like Skyrim Difficulty bump from Master to Legendary it isn't impossible to play on but, way more manageable on Master (Adept) then when you go to Legendary (Expert) the damage scaling takes a huge dip from you being a bullet sponge with decent damage that makes fights a little easy (Adept) then you got Expert and the enemies damage scaling goes way up they are now very bullet spongey. The ai for conjuration magic is one of the few ways to counter this but, is a huge clutch when you already have some of the best gear in game armor/weapons and your not able survive a simple +1 on difficulty... Kiting is a solid stat however the difficulty scaling I am hoping is addressed since I was enjoying the ramping difficulty got to Adept thought game was too easy (I don't have max combat stats mostly just magic + max conjuration) But, i don't see anyway for most people be able survive that ramp in difficulty when you also consider the level ramping as you progress thru the game + difficulty slider. Makes for this somewhat immersion breaking mechanic that makes me wish I could play on a harder difficulty without getting 3-4 shotted using blocks (Shield spells, very high 100% Fire/Ice/ high storm resistance) I have a pretty balanced character but, it is just not enough even after all the min maxing I normally enjoy. Note I haven't even referred to actual Master difficulty which I tried in the arena and noticed just how much stronger my Xivilai was them me back again to stuck using conjuration as a clutch. So... Unless you are speedrunning to max out blade/blunt/handtohand + getting enchanted gear ASAP I do not see me or many people being able handle the difficulty slider till late end game where it won't matter much anymore as you likely already be very op.

Ps. Considering the huge bump in difficulty in Expert to Master. I almost wish it was possible to use the attribute leveling system past 100 (Like it unlocks higher tiers can get those attributes to as you get to higher levels) to ramp up those skills that effect skills (Strength for example) You can use magic/items to do this but, takes awhile do Mages Guide questline as well as get gold to make a decent set to buff stats without rolling the dice on the loot system for magic items as merchants have set items they sell and their best gear doesn't ramp throughout your playthrough and stops being useful pretty quick by time can afford them.

Give each guild more things to do once you complete them, for examples-
Fighters guild: allow us to go to the other guild halls and build them up/ recruit generic new followers to join you, maybe even send out a squad of 4-5 of them to clear a cave or ruin on your request? Or an oblivion gate (giving you the choice to follow them)

Mages guild: maybe as arch-mage gain the ability to use restricted spells like necromancy/reflect damage and craft spells with them, rebuild bruma guild hall?

Thieves Guild: maybe get heist quests, a thief followers would be cool (invincible Amusei?) maybe they specialize in something when they follow opening locks or giving lockpicks stealth attacks?

Dark Brotherhood: ability to open up other guild halls, we know from things like ESO there is other guild halls between anvil and kvatch
Maybe over time being listener and giving out contract we can open these other guild halls up and get other generic followers (more variety) maybe even get new assassin quests you can do just killing generic high profile NPCs.

The Blades: after the main quest give us some way to do quests for them, maybe train recruits (or followers) I feel like there is lots of opportunities that could be had with them and their ranks.

(Arena: I listed an idea the other day so I won't go into detail but to sum up I suggested group team matches)

Knights of the nine: maybe you get sent on more quests for holy artifacts, some are useable, and some just for display placements? Build up the church's around each city (knights of the nine guards for each chapel?)

At the end of the Mage’s Guild quest line allows us to reinstate necromancy into the Mage’s guild : we could even use the destroyed Bruma guild hall as the one specialized in necromancy.

Going the extra mile, let us use necromancy to revive some of the Mages Guild members (Manimarco casually mentions doing that to the lackeys you killed on your way to him).

Having the option to actually side with Manimarco (something we could do in Daggerfall) or at least solve things peacefully with him by reinstating necromancy, would be a way to provide a very open outcome to the quest.

For better or worse, in Skyrim we learn that the Mages Guild collapsed after the Oblivion Crisis, so having necromancy briefly restored before that would hardly need to be justified in later entries of the series.

Soul Gem Rework
Introduce a unified value system called Soul Points, or something, assigned to each tier of soul ranging from Petty to Grand. Each Soul Gem would have a Soul Point capacity based on its tier and could be filled incrementally by multiple souls until full. For example, killing three bears could collectively fill a Grand Soul Gem. This system would prevent the common issue of wasting Petty souls in Grand Soul Gems.
Killing a single creature with a Grand Soul would still fill a Grand Soul Gem and the same would happen with the other Souls and Soul Gems.

Add a location or Apparatus that would allow us to fuse Soul Gems into the Larger tier, for example 2 Petty Soul Gems to make a Lesser Soul Gem and so on. Could be tied to the Arcane University or Skill Level in Mysticism. This would make the lower tier Soul Gems have value to higher level players, effectively turning the lower gems into evergreen loot.

A new quest that allows us to get the Black Star.

Improve Weapon Recharging Flow
Implement a smart recharge system that automatically selects the Soul Gem whose Soul Point value results in the least waste. The player would simply confirm the suggested gem, making the process smoother and more intuitive.

It seems that Oblivion may suffer from problems loading in a timely performant fashion, possibly due to shader/materials variety and complexity in the overworld. You have id software to hand who are clearly field-leading experts on simplifying and optimising how shaders and materials are used, and some of their knowledge/techniques are probably applicable in context for UE5 / Oblivion - at the very least conceptually.
Please consider bringing in id engine - and importantly - content developers on a consultancy basis to see if you can come up with actionable improvements/mitigations re traversal stutter in Oblivion: Remastered.

Lovin the game again, though I don't know weather its my memory of the amount of saves started and hours therein,
but I will say I feel like the environmental progression in things such as enemy gear has become a much sharper incline, like I remember it taking a good 7-11 levels per notable step up in what foes had, I'm lvl 22 and already finding Dadric armour, marginally quashing my sensation of evolution/achievement.

I feel like I might've just developed a higher sense for this sorta thing in the last 10 odd years since EsIV-I and or I'm probably just being nittypicky, though I probably should cut to the point and suggest;

  • Something paired with the difficulty slider, that establishes a variable curve vs Levels vs difficulty
    (I know, its probably much more mechanically complex than that, I'm no programmer but yeah.

Suggestion: add to the system menu a spot where we can manipulate the user interface from adding/removing inventory tabs to creating tabs that only contain specified item types like soul gems, my alchemist tools, and repair hammers or splitting out ingredients from potions.

In this proposed system selection section, there should also be an option for deleting spells from your spell list. Simply lists your spells by name where you can select and deselect them before hitting the delete option followed by a confirmation to delete.

  1. double check the spawning of skeletons on the world map, at least twice I've come across a weird band stretching across the screen with a skeletal piece inside. Took a picture on my PlayStation, but had no way of sending it in.

Small thing that's always bugged me: in the arena there are blue flags by the blue team entrance but no flags by the yellow team entrance. Why not a quick recolor of the flags, turn them yellow, and add flags to the yellow team entrance just to even things out?

As the Champion of Cyrodil, we should have the ability to restore the city of Kvatch and be the Count or Countess.

Something more than just purchasing the upgrades for the city. A DLC quest line perhaps.

After completing the main game, you receive a letter from the Elder Council that the city of Kvatch remains and ruins and Ocato would like to speak to you. When you arrive, he offers to sell you rights to be Count or Countess of the city of Kvatch for a mere 50,000 gold.

The DLC could include recruiting the factions, major and minor, to your city by performing quests for them or purchasing them facilities. There could also be quests to find various vendors and people to live in your city.

Some notable buildings in the player’s Kvatch city could be:

  • the Arena with a quest line as the financier
  • The Museum of Cyrodil (a place to store all those unique and amazingly remastered items)
  • a memorial to the original Kvatch
  • a winery to rival Tamika’s
  • an orrery
  • building for ayleid, Dwemer, or dremora artifacts/creations
  • and more

The ability to make choices that have long term effects on your city, such as tax rate (that delivers passive income to the county). The town’s wealth and tax rate could determine the type of clothing the people wear and the amount of beggars.

Treasury money could be used to purchase additional guards or upgrade their gear, upgrade buildings, beautify the city, invest in forts, etc.

Additional quests could be:

  • a plot to overtake the city by a cult of Boethiah
  • a new faction that hunts down daedric artifacts from around Cyrodil (implements more artifacts from other ES games)
  • a place to rebuild the Knights of the Nine
  • a short quest to bring the Blades to Kvatch and grow their numbers a bit before their collapse

The Dwemer Forge for Battlehorn Castle is kind of underwhelming. The +15 to Armory has an expiration date in useful.
Suggestion: give the Black Smith who works at the castle the ability upgrade/Forge new weapons after buying it. I know that better quality weapons exist in game, so perhaps allow him to make them Superb or Perfect. Whichever makes more sense.

Let us put multiple enchantments on armor(like a skill level 75 perk). With sigil stones just being so much stronger than normal enchantments (even with grand soul stones) you could easily put 2 enchantments on a piece of armor to at least make the enchanting competitive with sigil stones. possibly even give the option for a single piece with 3 enchantments when enchanting is 100. not sure how to implement that last part but im sure there is a way.

another option, make enchant power scale with enchanting skill. When enchanting is 100 the enchants should be stronger than sigil stones.

But a great idea I have is why don't you make a version ALL jewellery unenchanted (yes the includes one offs in quests like dream amulet or anoras amulet red/blue)

Same could be said for any unique clothing (example: emperors robes(when main story completed, Syl dress(when shivering isles completed))

Categorize beds into different tiers that give higher stat boosts the more luxurious it is.

I find it a waste that there are different types of beds in the game (bedrolls, tavern beds, hotel beds etc.) that don’t have a real difference aside from location and appearance.

Allow higher quality beds to offer stat blessings the same way doomstones and the minor chapel altars do.

middle income beds at taverns and houses can offer small blessings. The most luxurious beds (like the ones at the Tiber Septim hotel) can offer better blessings.

This would give incentive to rent a room at taverns and hotels outside roleplay and levelling up.

My suggestion is that there should be more spell visual effects in the game. Every spell should look different. Like an ice spike spell shouldn’t look the same as a blizzard spell.

Suggestion: With all the potential for new DLC, I think it would be good to have a kind of "House Warming" update. This would include small things like farming and maybe even marriage, given that we have new voice actors, we could marry a few of the current NPCs as well as a few new ones from this suggested update/DLC. In addition to this, give the player the option of whether or not an alchemical concoction will be used as a poison or potion. Being able to make poisons out of combinations with mostly negative effects that would otherwise be forced to be a potion due to a single positive effect would open up a lot of options. You could also allow players to treat ingredients, or even an individual ingredient, as having lower level alchemical properties so you can avoid specific effects, such as treating Cairn Bolete and/or Fly Amanita as if you were a Journeyman for the sake of avoiding Shock Damage in a healing potion.

Also, add some more properties to Mugwort Seed while we're at it. Anything that adds new options for a well-trodden system would be welcome.

Move the Order to the cabin outside the Imperial City, creating a Dawnguard style DLC where you can grow the Vampire Hunters cabin Headquarters into a sprawling fortress full with customization/House building/Weapon Racks & Display rooms for unique items found by hunting powerful & different types of vampires throughout cyrodiil and neighboring areas/lore expansions on Cyrodillic Vampire Hunting/allowing the player to alternatively lead & grow a vampiric house by eliminating other vampiric threats and/or potential hunters. Being that the dragon fires are down and other deadric princes could take advantage to crossover like Sheogorath does, maybe an even rarer opportunity to find a short glimpse into another deadric princes realm with a unique item in it that we can find. Being expelled from the gate and closing it by getting whatever the unique item is. Could be the rarest gate option to stumble across.

Just 3-4 rare random unique layouts added would be awesome to break up the repetitiveness of the gate layouts. One uncommon layout, a second rarer layout, third even rarer layout, with the fourth being a unique one you can only find once.
Would add a lot more to diving into them hoping to find a rarer one with unique or at least rare powerful loot and resources.

But there isn't anything beyond trees and rocks to see when going from location to location. Also, it will help some of the homes feel less empty inside, even with followers in the house. Not sure if this is a bug or feature so i post it here. Im playing as a dark elf who became a Vampire and my character looks all the same despite of being having vampirism over like third level of not feeding. If its meant to be like that perhaps you should change how some races look while being a vampire. It feels distracting when youre character still looks all the same.

An idea I just had while playing: perhaps add companions, maybe even flesh them out a little bit. They could give us more insight into how the population is dealing with the Oblivion Crisis, like providing more detailed firsthand accounts of their families or villages as we gain rapport. Currently if you steal 0 value clutter, like a plate or goblet. It’s permanently marked as stolen. You can’t fence it, it will be given away and deleted from the game. You can’t clean it, and the tag never goes away. Even if you store it in your own house, it stays flagged forever.

There should be a system to deal with this, either let us sell these items for 1 gold through fences, or have the red hand tag expire after enough in-game time. Right now, it’s just a leftover mechanic with no purpose.

We bring them all these worthless unused for anything clutter junk items to supply thier store with merchandise, say every 10 of the same item, we get a certain amount of gold every once a week/month, similar to Fighters Guild.
We can increase thier gold capacity up to like 10k,because there are enchanted items that sell for well over the maximum highest gold vendors.
This vendor could be added after the Thieves Guild questline, able to give them stolen junk, and sell stolen items.

Add an NPC that can upgrade your leveled items for a price as your character levels up. Right now the best way to get the best items is to delay certain quests to get the best version of their reward items. Having an NPC to level them up would be a nice way to still be able to get the best versions without delaying the quests until you’re at a high enough level. Staff of Everscamp: it was part of the game before Shivering Isles (SI), and that’s relevant because it’s a cursed daedric artifact of Sheogorath that we had to return to its shrine. But at the end of the SI DLC that shouldn’t be a problem anymore, so I want I suggest that after completing SI we can retrieve the staff and it be, at the very least lifted of its -20 speed penalty, if not outright improved so we can make better use of the 4 respawning Everscamp followers, making it into a worthy Daedric Artifact.

Perhaps you can add a character editor that can be used after the whole tutorial that only allows you to change your facial appearance and hairstyle. The race, gender and origin can be locked as that is already set. Kind of like in Skyrim or Fallout 3 where they have a facial reconstruction feature for later in the game. AdoringFan

Just for the finishing touches, of course. First of all, it would be really cool if you could expand the options for smithing a bit more. So that, like in Skyrim, one can upgrade equipment found early in the game to the current level at a grinding stone or workbench or something similar. Also, I would be very happy if you would consider improving the characters that can accompany the player in the game, so that they can be given equipment. Just like it works with Lydia in Skyrim. Solution ideas: Multiple pages of hotkeys inside the radial menu that can be swapped to when accessing the radial via another button press like one of the triggers while holding the radial menu open or something maybe. Suggestion: Armorer skill change to remove repeated clicks/button presses at Master level.

Current: The Armorer skill Master perk currently makes repair hammers indestructible, but we still have to click/press multiple times to repair items depending on the item's health and number of items to repair.

Option 1:
Keep the current perk effect and add to it the effect of one use fully repairs an item to 125%.

Option 2:
Keep the current perk effect and add a "Repair All" button to the screen when the Master perk is possessed by the player that repairs all items to 125%. This would look similar to the Repair interface for NPCs that offer the repair service currently.

Just because it has been mentioned several times: I beg you not to add any AI to the remaster, or if you really want to add AI, please release it as a separate downloadable extension that is not tied to any other content you may want to add. This way, each player can decide for themselves whether they want to download AI for their game or not. And I ask the same for every other game that you will still develop, especially for The Elder Scrolls VI. I used to love decorating the different houses, it wasn't easy to do but it was possible. Now I can't put anything at all onto a shelf because it simply won't let me! The grabbing/dropping system somehow got worse since 2006. Even decorating a table is even harder, but the shelves being mostly blocked off really bothers me. 😦

Really sucks, please fix this. It's one of the most fun things to do for world building and pretty much the only reason to bother buying the houses. I play on console so no hope for a mod to fix it.

Difficulty is completely broken compared to the original game because of the changes towards fixed difficulty levels vs slider and the skyrim style health regen. There are 5 difficulty levels but the the first 3 are stupidly easy and the last 2 are ridiculously hard. Unacceptable that this is not being addressed in the first patch.

Game is unplayable right now in my opinion. Devs should be ashamed for not play-testing these changes and tarnishing the rest of their excellent work.

the only mod I play with auto levels unique loot my level. Sort of like the crusader rack, or new DLC armor. I think this should be a default feature. I couldn't imagine playing without it and being punished with perma low level loot because I explored or did a quest early.

Make melee damage great again.

Blunt doesnt function on master difficulty, really outclassed by blades. Perks for them are mediocre in comparison.

Melee damage just needs an overall increase about 50% for blades and minimum 80% blunt.
A potential fix could be
Either by uncapping strength/agi roof or bringing back fortify fatique stacking. The first version really speaks to me the most since stuff like willpower and intelligence can be overcapped.

Id like to purchase spells for a greater purpose more than just as a simple ingredient for my spellcook book. Enhance some spells into magnitudes or durations the player can’t craft

--> Implement a "Sort" button with the default setting being that your most frequently chosen items/filter/ingredients appears towards the top of the respective list.

--> Grey out the items/filters/ingredients I can't use. This simple QoL tells me at a glance what I can craft. This means I don't need to go through every filter individually to see if I can make that type of potion.

I know dark is realistic given the number of placed light sources, but comparing screenshots for the player homes to the original, they currently seem unreasonably dark. Maybe turn up the ambient light in those locations a notch? Most interiors seem darker than they should be for practical reasons, but player homes especially feel like they shouldn't be so dark.

With all due respect—may it please the moderators—initial impressions of the game would be greatly improved by rendering the intro movie (with the emperor, siege crawler, and so forth when we select New Game) at a higher frame rate. 30 fps works okay for some content with little motion, but sweeping camera movement over the Imperial City is definitely not such content. It results in highly visible choppy camera movement in the pre-rendered video. To be clear in case the technical aspects are confusing here, this has nothing to do with the hardware it is run on or any settings the player can control. It is 100% how the video file is created by the development team and is completely disconnected from in-game performance. While I would encourage any improvement we can get, even 60 fps would likely suffer from these issues (albeit to a lesser extent); I further understand that adjusting this should be relatively trivial for the developers—it should just be adjusting a number and letting the machine generate a new version of the file. 60 would be a big help; 120 would be better.

A better idea is to give us 3 selectable lighting options during character creation, similar to how Dragon's Dogma 2 does it, we can see our character in the different lighting to get a better idea how it actually would look in the game world outside the sewer... Add a new game plus feature

Allow us to unlock a NG+ option once completing the main story, letting us restart the game with our level, gold, attributes/skills and spells learned.

As for items, you can add a special container or even a special NPC that can hold our stuff to be retrieved back in the NG+ playthrough.

Hello. I'd like to suggest an option to mute the player voice. Perhaps put the volume for the player voice on its own slider so you can mute it. Or allow to use any race's voice during character creator. The reason is the original voices are very annoying with their grunts and wails, and in the case of elven females sound completely out of place. Thanks.

One of the the best parts about playing these old games is the creative writing and understanding the lore. Is it possible to implement control of the subtitles on screen? I think money should be harder to get, you can easily make thousands of gold in mere minutes just by clearing out a couple dungeons and selling the armor and weapons you find, which makes crafting overpowered spells, weapons, and armor a trivial task. Which in turn greatly devalues quest earned money like the rewards from arena fights.

Something I been thinking about the other day, for staffs/staves,

If you give them a each a second ability one for defensive magic and other other for offensive/utility magic, defensive could be used while blocking and attacking same time and for the offensive/utility magic is just normal attack.

Some Examples ideas

Enhance magicka : telekinesis

Also a side thing would be to the spells that get used for the staves could also level up our magic skills to make staves/staffs more useful

Things like more rain density during thunderstorms, snow falling in the snowy regions, leaves occasionally falling off trees and flying in the wind, more density of flies and other flying insects in the swampy areas etc.

Perhaps even adding a small degree of environmental destruction? Things like tree branches falling off and stone cliffs getting chipped when struck by powerful spells, small craters from explosions. These environmental changes can also slowly disappear and reset over time too

Strength attribute has more utility over agility. To balance this out and add more utility to agility, allow the attribute to affect weapon attack speed.

Each point could be equal to 0.1% additional speed so 100 agility would give 10% faster weapon attack speed compared to 0 agility

Improving the Masque of Clavicus Vile: currently it is essentially the laughingstock of Daedric artifacts, either to be destroyed during Blood of the Daedra or never obtained because Umbra seems like a much better reward (despite the not counting for the Daedric artifact achievement).

I do have some ideas on how to improve it, partly based on a lore book that describes how a disfigured woman became respected & admired, almost marrying a baron using its powers.

Similar to the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal (which gives you 100 infamy upon wearing it), set the players fame at 100 when using the masque.

Speaking of nocturnal, the Masque could provide a similar advantage to the speech minigame as the Skeleton Key does to lockpicking: allow us to rotate the speech minigame wheel as many times as we want while wearing it. Normally we can only rotate it once and that is after unlocking the related perk from the speech skill.

Taking a look at the other TES games where the Masque has appeared, its enchantments could also be buffed:

-Increase the Personality buff from 20 to 30, matching Morrowind’s buff.
-Add Mercantile +20 & Speech +10 to match Skyrim’s bonuses.
-Possibly also add Skyrim’s +5% Magicka regeneration bonus, though admittedly this one feels out of theme with the Masque.

It would be nice if the quick key ring was replaced with a double-layer quick key ring, where you could switch between layers with a button press. The default would be the inner layer, where the quick keys point to actual items and spells. Each of the selections in the outer ring would instead swap the set of quick keys (ideally, you could provide a name and icon for each set). So, effectively it goes from 8 quick keys to 64.

Regarding the performance update, the game is unplayable on AMD 6000 series cards with ReBAR enabled in Bios. The game struggles to draw above 80 watts of power on the 6600 XT which is meant to draw 130+ W in games at full load.

Once you become Sheogorath allow us to summon Haskill in Cyrodiil as the ONLY reason they gave us was for not going before was due to not wanting to be far from his Lord, but if you are his Lord wouldn't it be cool to bring him along and ask for advice/other stuff for whatever tidbits of information on missions(main line/guild lines/other Daedric shrines) you are on?

Infact it seems stupid not to be able to summon him at this point, same with the two guards it would be nice if you could bring them with you to help fight against Mehrunes Dagon if you so wanted to you are Literally their god.

A proper survival mode for Oblivion with fatigue, hunger, thirst and warmth/cold. Also no automatic health regen and no fast travel with survival mode.

A Rebuilding Kavatch quest line with a build mode similar to how you build your town in Elder Scrolls: Blades. Since the player is known throughout the land as the “Hero of Kavatch” it would really fit the theme if they were responsible for helping with its reconstruction and maybe even have it contain a little home base of sorts for the player as well.
