I got several suggestions for the game:

  1. Overhaul the sprinting animation, it's painful to watch

  2. Overhaul Vampirism. Check out better vampires from skyrim, it's the best vampire expirience I've had in a videogame. Make player vampires look more vampiric, dark red eyes, paler skin. Allow us to feed from people that ain't sleeping, like how it was added in dawnguard with vampire's seduction. It would also be cool if you would be at your strongest when fully fed instead of starved. There's plenty to be done with this.

  3. Official modding support for consoles and pc

  4. And this is an extra request, add Lycanthropy. There's plenty of ppl ive seen on yt asking for it.

As someone mentioned before, i-frames for dodging would be super useful, the few times I've used it haven't really avoided damage at all so would be nice to see it be more useful.

Maybe this one is too radical, and too Souls-y, but would a target lock be something people would like? I feel like it'd help in big skirmishes where I'm worried about accidentally hitting a friendly, but could also be fun for one-on-one battles too.

Another vote for updating the color pallet to be closer to the original. Remaster currently looks great...but it's also very obviously UE5.

Also when looting containers, can seeing your inventory next to it be the default instead of having to press an extra button to bring it up? I need to know if I the cheese wheel will be what puts me over the limit or not.

Please add Skyrim style lockpicking. I have been reading countless tutorials on how to lockpick, including the one in-game and I cannot wrap my head around it. I played the original game and couldn’t understand it then. I get that some people like the lockpicking but for me it is tedious and not at all intuitive. I’ve tried multiple suggestions people have made and they never help. I had one that worked but then I couldn’t recreate the results. Having the option to choose between Skyrim style and classic Oblivion style locks would be so much better. Let people who want the old ones have them. I’ve been skipping lockpicking altogether just to avoid the headache. It’s actually ruining my enjoyment a bit.

A difficulty in between adept and expert where I take the damage as if I’m on expert, and the ai is better, but enemies have the health of adept so they don’t feel so spongey.

  1. Detect Life enchantments seem to be broken. I have to unequip and then requip the item to "refresh" the effect

  2. Jumping / falling in stealth pulls you out of stealth, and gets you spotted instantly

  3. Stealth seems buggy. You can get spotted very easily, even at high stealth. (environments are better lit?)

  4. Free cam / photo mode. I dont want to lock out achievements using the console, just because I want to get a better look at my character.

Hi to whoever is looking at these suggestions, here are a few from me as huge lover of the game!

  • HUD Opacity Option

  • The container menu (Whenever opening a chest, if I want to add an item I have to click search, then search again, to even look at my inventory. Whilst small makes organising storage an unfun task

  • Horse 1st Person

  • Walking & sprint animation suggestions - (subjective, but the lean when walking forward & backwards for me is way too much - I understand you have the upper skeleton & lower, it works really well in combat, but I can’t unss everyone is walking around like they’re angry, it’s especially noticeable on steps when an npc will take a step up and their entire torso becomes almost parallel to the floor for a second

  • walking animation: When player is walking at a 45 degree angle & looking at a 135 degree angle, the upper torso will start the flicker rapidly up and down (I imagine this has already been bud logged)

  • Can the Torch be to the side when idle, just is in the way most of the time

Hand to hand was made entirely unusable in higher difficulty games. The lack of knock outs, or meaningful effects of fortify fatigue or enemy fatigue loss ruin the build and there's been no real adjustment made to counterbalance those nerfs. If these can't be fixed, then hand to hand should just be removed from the game some players are tricked into thinking it's a viable option.

Make enemy health bars update and display when the enemy is under the effect of damage over time, such as when using Poisons. Currently you can’t view enemy health status without another instance of direct damage.

The changes to combat and leveling are fantastic, but they’re severely hampered by the overly aggressive scaling (bandits in glass armor) that’s still present from the original game. Maybe slowing the scaling down or keeping low tier enemies in some areas would help with this?

11 hours in so far and here’s a few of my nitpicks.

• make books, notes and other text look like it’s in universe, as it currently just looks like a word document with a fancy font.

• the massive name tags when looking at people and horses is a little bit silly and distracting.

• the light that shines on NPCs faces is incredibly distracting and takes me out of the game a bit because who’s shining a massive floodlight on these people 😂

• dunno how simple this is but a basic cleared function to explored areas on the map would be handy to keep track of where I’ve been

• better display functionality in player homes similar to Skyrim would be nice as well.

• I understand the idea behind being slower when going uphill but it becomes a bit frustrating after a while, especially considering the design of the map in general.

That’s all I can think of for now. Absolutely in love with this remaster keep up the good work 😁

Humble feedback from an OG Oblivion Exhauster and Remaster Enthusiast (I should put that in my resume...?).

In order of what I believe to be 'pressing':
• Combat Overhaul: There has been some good effort here, but I'd love to see some more advanced combat mechanics to make it feel a little less 'slap them until they're down'. Thinking shield strikes, pommel punches, parry... anything to make it a little more strategic and satisfying.
• NPC AI: The behaviour of NPC's can be a charming part of the oblivion experience, but at times it's so janky is can become jarring. Especially in Combat, enemies turning around mid fight, not reacting to ally deaths when sneaking, ignoring close miss arrows (etc)...
• Difficulty: It seems as though adept = no or little damage to player character. Expert = no or little damage to enemy NPCs.
• Character Customisation: Body sliders, height sliders, racial sub-origin attribute impact, more hair and beard options, fixing beard clipping. Option for no facial hair on female/ type 2 khajits.
• Unleveled Unique Items: Getting cool, unique items early game which are subsequently useless late game is a shame. Traditional, but outdated.

But expert I fail to beat to wolves at once! it needs a middle ground. I read the multipliers on damge are like 3x take to .6 dealt. seems like a huge leap for one level. is it intentional?

A fully functional console for PC. Many previous console commands, such as tcl, no longer work at all. Also, we can no longer target assets/npcs in the console to reference them for console commands.

I have a suggestion regarding the UI. When you look at the skills section of the UI, you need to move your mouse over each skill to see how much progress you need to level it up. This is pretty inconvenient if you want to quickly find out what skills are about to level up.

  • It would make more sense if you could see the progress on a bar next to each skill at a glance without having to hover your mouse over each one. (Like in the original version of the game).

Another suggestion I have would be to not change any of the game mechanics, or the core gameplay too much. I think the remaster itself already has enough drastic gameplay changes and any more might make it feel less like Oblivion and more like a different game. A lot of changes that some people are suggesting in this channel are personal preferences that fundamentally change the game itself. These changes could easily be made by the user themselves with mods to suit their personal preferences, and there is no reason the changes should be made to the base game.

Chiming in to say that Expert feels too tedious of a difficulty with how spongey the enemies get. It would be nice if enemy deadliness (damage output) and enemy toughness (HP) were two different difficulty sliders. Deadliness feels more exciting and fun to me. Toughness just feels tedious.

I'd like to consistently see my equipped weapons when I open the Inventory screen on the character model. It often shows an unarmed character instead till I unequip and re-equip my weapons. (Not sure if this is working as intended or not)

Hello. I really hope for optimization patches. It is crazy rtx 4070 super with/ 12gb can't handle game in 60fps on high.
1080p gaming with 60fps was standard decade ago. I understand Unreal Engine 5 but there are many far more beautiful games which I can run in more than stable 60fps.

Edit. Keep in mind rtx2080 is in recommended requirements.

Leverage the alchemy system to create a long-duration "Potion" that is dressed up as "Cooked [Y]" Benefits are smaller than potions but last for a significant duration. Meat used dictates base bonuses.

When you're in a dungeon/interior cell, PLEASE make it so the map is automatically opened to the interior map, and not the overworld map. It's becoming increasingly annoying having to manually zoom into the map everytime I want to just look at the interior map for a dungeon.

I want to add onto this, and say that whilst I'm a PS5 player I don't have the option of mods to fix this issue. I am finding adept far too easy where I feel almost invincible, and want to bump up the difficulty just enough to feel like there's a threat. However, Expert goes far too far in that direction, where I feel like every enemy is a dark souls level boss fight and not really fit for the gameplay. I really need a middle ground to properly enjoy the game, and honestly I feel like if I could allow the enemies to do expert levels of damage to me, whilst still taking adept levels of damage themselves, it'd be a good start. Honestly, I feel though the difference between the difficulty levels is so vast that something might be straight up bugged.

One personal thing that has me bothered is that the sounds for opening everything is all the same. The same knapsack opening sound. When it used to be container specific example being a crate would not play a crate sound.
Another thing I'd love to see weapons on my back or hips in menu.
Maybe also have movable UI so you can have all the main UI where you want it on screen.
Console commands would also be nice.
Indication on the map if you have cleared a cave or not.
Pets would also be fun to have as a companion or something.

Optimization of the UE5 engine through a hotfix would be nice!

Suggest looking into a modder who has already made a proper engine.ini tweak that addresses the poor performance, stuttering and jittering of different visual elements. Incorporating his tweaks into a hotfix would help all the handheld devices and consoles to also reach a playable performance!

So far most things are amazing, please fix the difficulty scaling though. The jump from adept to expert is insane, adept far too easy, expert turns the first areas into a dark souls game, and not even in the good way, everything turns into bullet sponges.

Please in the work cults name improve Mannimarco he was a force to be reckoned with in Daggerfall and eso in Oblivion he acts like a cheap knockoff if possible make him feel like a boss give something unique to him he is the leader of the black worm he needs to feel like he is people loved him for his menacing design and voice that should be in the remaster because he should be known not just to the character but the player that this guy is the most powerful necromancer in Tamriel

No one will think of the quest seriously if the leader is just a man in robes make him a real boss with a unique set of mechanics that make the player have to adjust their next course of action to beat him feasibly it will make the player feel more rewarded in the end then him being a one-shot kill and make him have unique loot

[Suggestion] Some of the lip syncing is really weird. I don't know what an adjustment would detail - but a lot of characters have their mouths positioned too high, and when talking you can really only see their teeth like they have really toothy smiles/large gums and it's really weird.

I'd love to see a better UI for the inventory and magic menus. One of the things I really miss from Skyrim is extra categories like separating potions and ingredients, tools (e.g. repair hammers, alchemy gear) from miscellaneous junk for selling (e.g. gemstones, animal hides), and spells by school of magic. It would make menu navigation a lot more efficient.

This remaster can be amazing, but it is being held back by several issues.

  1. Please check the NPC AI, their behaviors and pathfinding is literally causing bugs and quest breaks more often than vanilla Oblivion especially with them getting stuck at every corner.

  2. Please change the UI for local map on PC, either introduce a hotkey or something, it is ridiculous that you need to scroll into your cursor on map every time to see local map.

  3. This one is my personal take, but for the love of decency please change the level scaling, why is it completely untouched? Even Skyrim has quest rewards that continue scaling with you and enemies that have item loot lists. At the moment you can receive a low level umbra that gets outcompeted but everything at higher levels, at the same time you can encounter bandits all of them wearing full sets of glass armor worth 6000 Septims trying to rob you for 20 Septims.

The only thing I'd suggest would be updating levelled items (e.g. Chillrend, Sufferthorn) to level with your character. It sucks to get them early & have them become obsolete or not getting them until level 25+ for the best version.. I’ve said this already but please can the density of vegetation/grass be increased in the great forest area, if not the entire map? The grass is so much shorter and it makes the great forest feel bare in comparison to how it looked in the original.

In classic Oblivion there was long green grass, bushy trees and big ferns everywhere, making it feel like real dense forest. Now there’s just short, patchy grass and it takes away so much from the atmosphere. The great forest especially, as it was my favourite region of the game (the forest around Chorrol, Hackdirt, Clavicus Vile’s shrine and Molag Bal’s shrine)

QOL SUGGESTIONS

Separate alchemy ingredients, alchemy equipment and potions from one another like it was in the original. As to with other things in the miscellanies tab to be like the original. And separate the spell scrolls from the actual spells like the original was.

CONTROLLER (Gamepad) SUGGESTION

Who's idea was it to lock movement control when bringing up the hotwheel thing.

Change the hotkeys to the D-pad and do away with the need to hold the RB (R1) button making it like it was with the original on console, or at least make it like Skyrim so the game pauses when using the hotwheel, that way I am not taking a mace to the face while trying to equip a heal spell.

LEVELING OPTION SUGGESTION

The leveling can be a bit to fast and I think it would be fun if we had the option at the character creation screen to select between 1 Remaster leveling and 2 Original leveling.

COMBAT SUGGESTION

Slightly faster weapon swing speed.

HORSE SUGGESTION

Attack on horse back.

OTHER SUGGESTION

Longer load time for all the textures and lighting to finish loading.

-people love physics. There's only a select few apparel items that have cloth physics in the game presently. It would be incredible to have more.

Will list a few minor pet peeves!

  • There are a lot of small inconsistencies with the new animations that look weird - e.g. third person sprinting with fists 'drawn' keeps your upper body still with your fists raised in front of you
  • Tails disappear with certain armour sets on Khajiit and Argonian characters, including on all robes - would rather they stay even if they clip through, as they did in the original. Or we be given an option to turn them on and off!
  • Spellbook tabs for each spell-type would be amazing, e.g. Alteration, Destruction, etc., and allowing us to delete spells from spellbooks to help reduce clutter would also be a great QoL change compared to the original.
  • As others have said, more ways of organising / filtering your inventory would also be really useful.

Thank you to everyone working on this - it is an amazing remake and so loyal to the original game!

If future DLC is added, I’d like to see a new take on the old and popular Rebuild Kvatch mod.

If just modifying current features. The Dunmer head mesh is incredibly ugly for most male characters. Even more so than the original game. Eronor looks straight out of a horror game. I think this should be fixed.

If not, at least allow players to change skin textures or fine tune features. Even the youngest character setting looks like 30+ on some male races. With the worst looking 60+ at the youngest setting.

@lilac sage The third one is how the old game worked, and I kind of like it since it incentivizes you to find or create better gear. Plus it’s vanilla. I don’t really want an official patch that differs from the vanilla experience.

But there are mods to fix this if you don’t prefer it, and hopefully there will be official mod support soon.

Change leveled artifact quest rewards (Chillrend, Necromancer's Amulet, Bloodworm Helm, etc.) to react the same way to any container as the Crusader's Relics do with their respective armor stand.

This would mean containers (or something similar) convert the items into their level-appropriate variants, i.e. if you got the items at level 5, but are now level 25, placing them in a container then removing them will mean you now have the level 25+ equivalents (the strongest variants) of the same items. Without this, I feel like I'm being gatekeeped and forced to avoid many quests until very late into the game.

It's already been implemented; this shouldn't be too hard of a fix!

exit conversation) where I have to use arrow keys. I would like to be able to use WASD there.

Hello! Probably echoing some other suggestons here but things I noticed so far :]

  • Player heights: As a roleplaying/immersion junkie, I find it weird the player is the same height regardless of race. I love short king Bosmers and hulking Nords/Orsimers!!

  • Probably beaten to death but some adjustment to difficulty is needed. Adept is a bit too easy, Expert is just a slog to get through enemy HP. I'd love some in-between where damage is increased across the board, you deal and you take the same amount. If I can two-shot a bandit I also want to feel a sense of danger where they can two shot me!!

  • Just a wishlist feature, but I've come to love Survival modes, maybe blending it with the above suggestion, but adding things like needing to eat, drink and rest would be awesome, as well as limiting carry weight so we can make more use of spells and potions a that fortify it! Again, more of a roleplaying enhancement but its one I've really come to enjoy!

[Suggestion] Having a proper "Photo Mode"/image suite in game would be nice, and help the process of taking NPC and location images for the appropriate TES Wikis. To echo what others have said, I think the difficulty has to be adjusted, or it's currently bugged. Adept rats and goblins are melee sneak attack 1 hit kills, or ~3 melee hit kills, and I never have to use any potions as my health is never in danger. Jump to Expert though, and I'm dying repeatedly to 2 goblins as it takes 10-15 melee hits to kill them while 2-3 unblocked hits on me puts me in critical condition.

I saw online that Expert changes your damage to 0.8x and damage received damage to 3x, but even that seems to be underestimating the swing from Adept to Expert. Can one of the Oblivion team confirm the scaling?

Please consider allowing us to fully join the Mythic Dawn, but with negative consequences for our decision to align with them. It would be interesting to introduce a non-playable character (NPC) who can change our appearance for a small fee in gold, eliminating the need to start a new game or use commands.

For role-playing purposes, I would also love to see new outfits designed for specific races added to the game.

Additionally, I request the option to join enemy factions, such as the Blackwood Company and the Worm Cult.

It would be fantastic to have more spells, particularly in necromancy , along with other new options.

Perhaps we could have the opportunity to rebuild the city of Sutch, similar to Battlehorn Castle.

To avoid conflict, a small introductory quest could take place in a random or specific location. This quest could lead to several missions that ultimately allow us to join the Worm Cult, setting up a conflict where we are shunned by the Mages Guild, making them the antagonists of the Worm Cult storyline.

As for the Blackwood Company, it could be just like how we joined the Fighters Guild, but the questline could lead us to outmaneuver the Fighters Guild.

Additional ideas include incorporating fishing mechanics or small features that allow us to expand our characters as we see fit.

Ultimately, I hope to see concepts similar to how ESO expanded on the races of Tamriel.

Hi!~ I'm seeing a ton of people with FPS issues and wanted to bring attention to it here (or again, if it has happened). I think the community as a whole would appreciate an optimization patch to help improve stability (especially in the open world). Mid/Low tier PCs have stuttering issues even on lowest graphic settings and higher end PCs haven't had luck on the higher graphics settings. People have installed a plug in that has saved them 30 fps without a hit to quality, when testing this implementation consider 1080/2060 (etc) graphics cards as they should be able to play on all low settings and medium/high render distance.

Make wolves and mudcrabs less aggressive. Traveling through this beautiful world is amazing but wolves and mudcrabs are everywhere (which I don't mind) and attack on sight as well as follow you into oblivion itself.   1. Interact dual-function as various menu confirmations. E.g. confirm sale, conversation, etc. Mousing or reaching for enter key is slower and less intuitive.

  2. Movement dual-function as various menu navigations instead of arrow keys. Related to above, WASD, Q, E, are where players hands are most of the time. Navigating vendors, haggling, how many items to buy/sell, conversations, etc. with these keys is more intuitive.

  3. More dedicated function keys. E.g. zooming from world map to city or dungeon map, add or repurpose a function key for that, I shouldn't have to move a slider or scrollwheel all the way in to get there. Min/Max buy/sell amounts, add or repurpose a function key for that, same as above.

When you open a container, you press R to loot all, which closes the container's menu. If it's empty, you cannot press R to close the menu, you must click Escape. It should just close with R when it's empty, like it closes the menu when you loot all with R please.

M to open map, M to close map please. As it is, you have to press Escape, or I think Tab, to close the map.

Looting a quantity of items. It'd be nice to click Space to loot, not just Enter.

These are just small things, but huge for quality of life and making the menus more fluid and intuitive.

Bug Type: Crouch path blockage (invisible wall)

Problem Description:
A bug prevents the player from passing through certain areas that require crouching. An invisible wall blocks the path, making some quests impossible to complete.

Instances encountered:

"Cheydinhal Recommendation" quest (Mages Guild)
→ Once inside the well, it's impossible to get through the tunnel due to an invisible wall.

"Ahdarji’s Heirloom" quest (Thieves Guild)
→ In the castle, after opening the hidden passage in the barrel, the door opens, but you can’t pass through it.

Dark Brotherhood questline
→ After unlocking the passage, the path inside the well is again blocked by an invisible wall (you can exit, but not enter).

Remarks:
Everything else in the game is excellent — it’s truly a joy to (re)discover Oblivion in this version. Thank you in advance for fixing these bugs!

Could we have an option to toggle filters on and off? I know some people don't like them, but it would be a simple solution.

Additionally, it would be great to include some enemies from Elder Scrolls Online in Oblivion, perhaps as part of a mini enemy expansion pack.

For a DLC, exploring the Deadlands would be amazing. It would be awesome to experience that hellish landscape as an open area rather than just a dungeon.

Another idea for DLC could be Ayleid-themed content that allows players to witness the memories of their destruction. This could also provide access to more elven items, which would enhance the experience.

Furthermore, a DLC that expands on the aftermath of Oblivion and focuses on the fall of the Mages Guild could present a compelling storyline.

Finally, it would be beneficial to introduce DLC that adds more quests to the current joinable factions.

Another vote for difficulty tweaks. The scaling between adept and expert seems off. Go from no challenge to getting killed by a rat in the opening sewer.

  1. On PC, sometimes when pressing the 'W' key to move forward, my player won't move. This usually happens if I just exit a menu or something, but I shouldn't have to unpress the key then press it again for movement to work. I don't think this is a bug, just a weird quality of life issue.

  2. The jogging and sprint animations are atrocious. It's embarrassing to play in 3rd person.

  3. Add options to toggle HUD elements, such as distance in compass, or named location in compass, the highlighting of harvestable ingredients, etc.

Hey there! As a PS5 player, I wanted to humbly request that some of the game’s awesome-but-unobtainable items be made available for console players such as:-

  • Mythic Dawn Armor
  • Palace Guard Armor
  • Thadon’s Robe
  • Emperor’s Robe
    PC players can access these via mods/console commands, but we console folks have no workaround. It’d be amazing if these could be added officially in a future patch.

P.S. I know this has probably been suggested a million times, but tossing it out there again in case you’re compiling common requests!

Not sure if its been mentioned, but please make it so Achievements on Steam wont become disabled if you use the Console Commands. I had to teleport 2 NPC's together to interact to finish a quest because they were stuck on a wall and wouldnt move closer to engage otherwise, only to find out I was missing out on achievements I shouldve been earning afterwards.

Someone made a MOD to get around it thankfully, but I'll have to go back on a new character to get the achievements I missed.

I want to make a case for bringing in the legendary skill system from Skyrim.

Currently (and it has always been), selecting a race/class combination that is synergistic results in a lower overall level cap because you have less skill points to gain in your major skills.

There is already a "way around this" by exploiting skill drain in the jail systems, but this can ruin immersion with non-criminal playthroughs.

It's also counter-intuitive that race/class combinations that are synergistic are fundamentally worse off in the long run.

Having a skill legendary system like Skyrim would (hopefully) be easy to implement, and take the headache away of worrying about leveling or choosing the right major skills to exploit a jail system.

Each loading session has TWO fade-to-black transitions! PLEASE. Fade-to-black is over used in many games today. Shortsword feels perfect, fluid fast and the four stages to the combo is fantastic.
Longsword however feels very basic, i understand it is a 3 part combo but there doesn't feel any uniqueness to it just swinging my arm about and hit things.
Claymore feels heavy and impactful, maybe slightly increase the speed.

Overall I feel there not as much reach advantage by weapon type, everything seems to feel face to face to hit thing with both a shortsword and claymore.

BALANCE SUGGESTION: introduce a hard cap of 85% (like in skyrim) for the game breaking enchantment and spell effects magic resistance, spell absorb, spell reflect, reflect damage, and chameleon, because it is still far too easy to make an invulnerable character and break the game on any difficulty starting between levels 17 and 20.

A lot of people have suggested these next two things, and I want to add my support for them. Narrow the gap in difficulty between adept and expert, it is disproportionate.

And the last is to add a gameplay settings option to use the classic oblivion leveling system and balance. My above suggestion about capping immunity spell effects could be included in this toggleable option. So in classic mode, you can still make a breton with a mundane ring and be immune to magic with little to no effort, but if you use the remastered leveling/balance system you can only stack these types of effects to 85% and have to plan around always taking at least "some" damage from enemies.

Give the races different heights for the player. It negatively impacts immersion when the player plays as a Bosmer for instance, and you are way taller than any other Bosmer. Same as Altmer, you are way shorter than other Altmer.

Problem: The magick tab can get too cluttered with custom spells and even with just the spells you buy in the base game. I've only made 2 custom spells and bought a lot of spells and its hard to filter through. The player can spend 5-30 seconds in the magick tab searching for the spell they are looking for often repeatedly if trying to cast multiple spells.

**Solution:**Allowing favoriting spells so that the player can easily see which spells they want to cast in each category allowing them to quickly flip through the menu. Another addition is allow hiding spells that would send any hidden spell to the bottom of the list even if its not favorited, an example of this is a player may have 4-5 different spells for detect life just in the base spell purchasing, they may not want to favorite a detect life spell but they want to cast the strongest one every time their skill allows so being able to hide the others by sending them to the bottom of the list would be great. With just a favorite, and hide feature for spells players could easily put the few most important spells they want on top of the list, things they use commonly in the middle, and spells they will never use on the bottom!

A bonus addition would be adding a second radial menu players can access by another keybind on pc or a button combination like y+rb on consoles that can be just used for spells. Or make it be used for anything to give the player more freedom in using items/spells!

collision and the tweaked physics regarding npcs is bad and makes combat and feel not impactful. Can’t hit dead bodies. The hit reactions makes it look like you hit, but it doesn’t feel like it. Collision with npcs and items have clipping with weapons, which contributes to the feel of combat feeling off

A few suggestions:

  1. Randomized characters look absurd and even inhumane. The preset characters are the only "normal" looking ones and randomizing the sliders don't result in usable characters. For example: one specific issue is that the men (body type 2) have makeup on 99% of the time. This isn't the case in the game or IRL, so some properties and sliders should be optimised when Randomize is pressed.
  2. After clearing a cave / ruins / fort, in the original game the map marker would shift colors to indicate that the place is cleared. On remastered this doesn't seem to be the case so it's impossible to know/remember where I've visited.

So let's talk PS5

  1. Interacting with dead NPC bodies (accessing their loot/death pile) doesn't open the inventory interface immediately and I commonly need to press X again. It's almost like the game thinks I want to drag or move an item. In the old game I was able to click X once to interact with mobs that I kill and quickly move on, but here its sluggish.
  2. Stuttering. If it's 10pm in my livingroom and I exit a dark cave, I don't want the entire environment to be white while the textures, shaders, and graphical environment laods. Give me a few more seconds of loading screen so that this doesn't happen (load time is already sub 5-seconds...). This may seem like a small bug, but it breaks immersion when my room is lit up by a white background
  3. I can't remap the touch pad button. Why? I can remove the mapping for wait but can't replace it.
  4. The default PS5 controller mapping sucks. I pulled up my PS3 version and copied what controller scheme I could. I presume that the default mapping was an attempt to make it seem more like Skyrim

Hello! Heard there was an oblivion suggestion server! Im hyped about the remaster! Been having a blast but I have a few things I would really like to see as well as a real bad bug I’ve found.

  1. I would REALLY like to see the original HUD return as an option. I loved the enemy health bars curving over the center dot it was very screen friendly as the new one just takes up screen-space. To be honest, the original HUD was rather screen friendly. Also, This game is not Skyrim and I was excited to hear the devs revamped the HUD but was disappointed when I saw that it was basically just the Skyrim HUD (Health, Magic, Stamina bars)

  2. I would really appreciate having the option for deadzones on controller settings. It would make everything feel more responsive as well as help any floaty issues people may be having.

  3. I have been experiencing performance issues as well. Framerate drops and some stuttering I hope for an eventual update to lessen these.

  4. (THIS IS THE BUG) When sprinting, and sometimes not, if you were to look up and down the camera and controls de-rails from itself causing complete broken control response and becomes a floaty distorted mess. Eventually, it “fixes” itself but it happens every time you are sprinting and looking around. Almost as if you are staggered. I hope this reaches you to get fixed up. -Playing on PS5 pro.

+1 for difficulty adjustment to not scale with player level. It undermines the feeling of gaining strength. I understand that would require a decent amount of developer planning around making sure the player isn’t directed to a certain area when they aren’t equipped to take on a certain area. The main questline could serve as guideline of what the player could expect from a given area, and lead players into the next region they’ve progressed enough based on average main questline experience. There could be a scaling buffer of +/- 5 levels to account for players over or under leveling during that time in the main questline. It also wouldn’t feel like the player is being gatekept out of a region, as the story would introduce the area and allow them to take on any quests quests they have picked up that leads them there. I have 0 game development or scaffolding experience, just my 2️⃣🪙. Thanks for an incredible remaster 😄

  1. The game has many bugs. Please prioritize fixing the bugs.

  2. Map scroll wheel zoom is too slow. Should it by default open on a local map when not outdoors and in cities???

  3. Allow the full screen map to zoom out fully?

  4. Allow for a bit wider FOV for ultrawide. It's not bad but a bit wider would be nice, especially for first person.

  5. Goblins sometimes have difficulty attacking. They'll aggro but merely stand close and just stare in your face. (one of many bugs from point 1 above)

  6. Mark partially and/or fully completed dungeons (etc).

  7. When getting a buff from reading a book (etc), a louder and more prominent notification is requested. The notice that pops up after closing the book -- please have it stay on screen longer so there is more time to read it.

  8. When transitioning from first to the closer 3rd person view (mouse button 3), there is an abrupt quick pop-in zoom that is disorientating. Why can't it just zoom back in a quick way instead of popping back and then forward so abruptly?

  9. Please add an option to disable all FOV warping. It is disorientating (dizzying). For example when starting and stopping to sprint it will warp the FOV. PC users sit close to the screen.

  10. The player 'skates' a lot when starting to run (not sprint) from a standstill. Also skates some when walking from a standstill. The skating doesn't look good.

  11. NPC mouths are too open/wide when they talk. Looks freaky.

  12. Space bar would be nice as a way to 'swim up' when under water, please. A separate bind might be in order for those who want that.

  13. Buying scrolls in mage guild didn't specify I was buying a scroll. Thought I was buying the spell ability as a permeant ability.

  14. On world map, please highlight locations for inactive (unselected) quests...?

Bring back cut content, make a difficulty between adept and expert, first person combat akin to Mordhau or Chivalry, allow us to see parts of skyrim over the border, a post sewer character edit, maybe like the npc in the Ragged Flaggen in Skyrim, more Imperial armour like in ESO (Imperial armour looked SO GOOD in ESO), more unique mount varients.

For the love of God please bring spears into Oblivion I have no idea how the team never put them in. Spears have been the backbone of combat for so long. Spears pack plus Rise of the Dragons expansion pack that allows dragons into the game and various types and sizes each one killed gives you new perks.   1. Better performance options and optimizations, especially on low-end devices like the steam deck.

  3. More dynamic enemy scaling and variety. There's already some of this but I think it could go further. I'd like to still see scamps and bandits wearing leather in the game.

  4. Mod support!

  5. Adding physics to stuff on tables and swinging light fixtures.

Other than that, I'm loving the remaster! It's extremely well done - maybe the best remaster I've ever seen. And for what it's worth, I actually love the goofy looking sprint. I think it fits the tone of the game perfectly.

If you change your race and name before leaving the tutorial, your new character’s save files should automatically be separate from your old ones. Each named character should have their own section in the loading menu, it just makes things easier. That way, if you ever want to go back and play as your original character or keep a save right at the end of the tutorial to skip it later, you can. Right now, the only way to get separate categories for each character is to start a brand-new game.

Can you add a button to switch to the local map rather than zooming all the way in and pressing r2 again? Would be nice to be able to more easily flick between the two.

Also, when you buy lockpicks from the guy you start the thieves guild with, you have to buy them individually.

It would be great if there was a separate tab for notes/books/scrolls rather than being lumped in with miscellaneous.

level scaling seems like it needs some adjusting (insert “i’ve heard others say the same” joke) and out of everything from the OG i think this is what needed the most adjustment gameplay wise. there are tons of enemies in this game, i don’t want to outlevel certain enemies and never see them again! 🙁 + item reward scaling is still a real pain. leveling up feels like more of a punishment than a reward and it sucks having to wait to do certain quests because i don’t want to get the reward too early.

  • would love an option for items to be sorted by category, i have OCD lol it’s driving me crazy

Three things I'd love to see patched that would take this from A to A+++ for me:

  1. Change the weather cycle so that most days are sunny. Right now most days are overcast/cloudy and that makes the game feel dark/dreary (and not very Oblivion-like). The visuals really shine through when it's sunny so it should be like this more often.

  2. I would love to have a colour option that allows you to switch from the colours we currently have to the more lush and vibrant greens of the original game. People on Reddit have already done some modding to correct the colour and it really makes it feel more like Oblivion.

  3. Adept difficulty is too easy, but Expert is too hard (especially in the early game). Could use some balancing.

Not the first to suggest it, but the difficulty settings probably need some level of adjustment. Adept is far, far too easy, and the next step up turns the enemies into damage sponges. Having enemies with Expert damage output and Adept health would be ideal for me. Maybe separating out enemy health and damage as different settings would help fine-tune it? That, or simply rework the current values.

Further combat improvements I'd love to see in the Oblivion Remaster:

  1. A very slight hit stop on connecting attacks to add extra weightiness to melee combat

  2. The ability to bash/kick with all weapons while blocking rather than just the shield once you have ranked up the block skill enough

  3. The ability to do a silent roll when using the new dodge feature while sneaking if sneak is ranked up enough

Better achievements/trophies 🙏

The achievements are a bit unimaginative in a game where they could be for all sorts. Basic ones off the top of my head could be finding all Nirnroot plants, closing all Oblivion gates or killing x amount of creatures, but even these are quite vanilla. There's room for tonnes of variety and some quirky ones too!

I think the easiest fix for the difficulty so many are complaining about would be to bring back the original slider, instead of locking us to the preset 5 or so options we currently have.

That said, I think A LOT of people would appreciate TWO sliders, one for an enemy damage modifier and one for the player's damage modifier. This way people can tune the game exactly how they like it. I know a lot of people enjoy harder hitting enemies but also want to be able to dish out the same kind of damage.

This would be the perfect way to make a lot of people happy without having to overhaul the whole level scaling system as some are suggesting.

The world scaling is still a bit of a sore spot for me, even if it was in the original. It's a bummer for certain types of enemies to never be seen again as you level up. Likewise, it stinks to have to hold off on quests for certain quest rewards because you'll get a lousy version of a potentially great item. Not sure how to easily address either issue, but it'd be nice for unique items to be set to a certain level and leave the run-of-the-mill enchanted gear scaled to player level.

As someone who loves a challenge, like FromSoftware games, Adept is ridiculously easy. However, once you flip it to Expert, it becomes unreasonable.   2. Overhaul Vampirism. Check out better vampires from skyrim, it's the best vampire expirience I've had in a videogame. Make player vampires look more vampiric, dark red eyes, paler skin. Allow us to feed from people that ain't sleeping, like how it was added in dawnguard with vampire's seduction. It would also be cool if you would be at your strongest when fully fed instead of starved. There's plenty to be done with this.

  3. Official modding support for consoles and pc

  4. And this is an extra request, add Lycanthropy. There's plenty of ppl ive seen on yt asking for it.

  1. Animations for females need some work. Sprinting looks insane.

  2. Separate armor models for females instead of the male models.

  3. Scale the heights to race selected and not body type. Body sliders for weight and height would be preferable, although I understand this creates a huge amount of model work.

  4. You cannot strike or walk into an enemy once they are dead, there are no physics involved. This breaks the fantasy for me.

  5. Bash function for all melee weapon types and bows.

  6. I had issues with opening inventories of the dead, it drags them instead. Make the timer associated to dragging longer.

  7. Separate sliders for damage received/damage dealt.

  8. Cloaks and capes with cloth physics. It’s 2025 now. (These may be implemented, I haven’t seen them.)

  9. Allow custom orientation of the camera zoom instead of three separate modes to facilitate the use of custom FOV better. Perhaps a camera placement option in the settings with up/down left/right scalers.

  10. Improve the AI during combat. I don’t want to play a prettied up Oblivion with the same flaws as the past when these things are not only fixable now but standard in other games. Remaster it for modern times beyond the level scaling/graphics.

  11. Survival mode. Eating/sleeping/realistic carry-weight.

  12. Implement finishing moves that trigger based upon the camera the player is using. Tie this to the custom orientation settings you should implement for the camera.

  13. Improve the feel of combat by bringing the hit-reg and impacts into the 2020 standard.

  14. Improve AI pathing when grouped in a room. It was quirky 10-15 years ago, it is immersion breaking now when they walk into one another non-stop.

  15. Ear sliders. Remove/fade the manacle in the opening dungeon that obscures the right side of the character. Better lighting for character creation.

  16. The ability to eat/use items instead of picking them up. Tie this into optional survival mechanics.

  17. Mod support on Xbox/PC.

I’m going to add my voice to the chorus asking for difficulty adjustments. But I’d like to specify that in Adept mode I take too many hits to die and in Expert enemies take too many hits to die. So I don’t just want to see a middle ground between the two, what I’d love is adept levels of damage for me and expert levels of damage for enemies.
Also, more even lighting on character creation would be nice - as it is, black hair looks brown and I can’t see my character clearly from the side.

My two suggestions would be as follows:

  1. Dismemberment, this would be amazing, the blood already looks great in the game, maybe if you swing your sword in the exact right place you can lop off a limb or a head every now and then.

  2. Please, please, please do another big optimisation pass on PC, the game has really variable performance across a number of different PC configurations, but when people with a 3060 can play no problems vs someone with a 3090 who is having nothing but issues, raises concerns about the optimisation of the game.

As someone with OCD that is also playing on console it would mean the world to me to have the ability to edit character appearance after the tutorial/sewers. Something like the flesh crafter from Skyrim or even something simple like a magic mirror in Frostcrag Spire, etc.

I can spend hours trying to perfect minor details on my character’s face, start playing the game for a few hours, and then notice something I want to change and have to delete my character. Being able to freely edit appearance (doesn’t need to be race or body type, just the face, hair, etc.) would be so helpful.

This would also be great not just from a quality-of-life perspective but also a roleplaying perspective! Being able to have your character’s appearance change as they go on their journey is super immersive and fun. Growing facial hair, aging slightly, stuff like that.

This remaster is incredible and this change would make it perfect for me personally. I beg all of you talented developers at Bethesda & Virtuos 😭🙏

A few Small suggestions 🙏🏻

  • shortcut wheel edit: when bringing up the shortcut wheel, allow the player to continue moving instead of halting all momentum.

  • alter appearance: integrate a console friendly way to change appearance (lighting in prison sometimes masks visible flaws seen in brighter areas), such as a tailor or barber.

  • Further appearance suggestions: more options would be great! Also some kind of indicator you can toggle to show exactly what you’re changing when you select each option.

  • difficulty settings: I’m sure others have talked about this, but the jump from adept to expert is massive. From my experience playing, adept feels too easy and expert feels wayyyyy too hard, at least for being the level after adept.

  • Performance: It’s only been 2 days since the game launched so I can forgive this, but the current quality mode on PS5 runs poorly. The fidelity mode is fantastic however!

  • Pop-in: haven’t really seen it much myself but definitely extend the loading time to compensate for everything to render.

There's a few issues with difficulty that should probably be sorted out, to allow players to play as they wish. Right now, adept difficulty is extremely easy- you kill everything in a few swings, and you can tank entire groups of enemies without worrying about position.

If you turn up the difficulty by one level, though, fighting more than one enemy at a time becomes effectively impossible, and even a single enemy takes a long time to kill even with perfect play, and can usually kill you in a handful of hits.

For example, a wolf goes from being something you could kill groups of with ease, to a single wolf becoming a raid boss that you need to kite with arrows to survive.

The solution is to separate difficulty into two settings- damage taken modifier, and a damage dealt modifier, while leaving enemy HP untouched. That way, players can customize both how long combat should take (damage dealt), and how skillfully they need to play (damage taken). This one fix would make playing far more enjoyable for anyone who wants a challenge, but doesn't want a dumb grind of separating and cheesing every enemy they come across.

My only suggestion is to make unarmed/hand to hand viable again. The current fatigue/stamina rework has made it so that you can no longer knock opponents down/out due to draining their stamina.

The whole point of getting hand to hand to a higher skill level is to increase stamina damage, but now your payoff is a ~0.5-1s stagger instead of a 3+ second knockdown. It has made outplaying with your fists nearly impossible without a lot of hit and run and kiting, but at that point you might as well just be playing something else.

A pugilist should want to be in close, not running around and casting spells to drain enemy stamina and trying to get a cheeky hit in once or twice. Hell, most of the time when I proc the stagger i'm on my way out so I can't even use it to punish anymore.

You’re not representing a wide variety of body types and to be honest if my guy is going around slaying Demons every day I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be jacked.

I want to be able to hit the jump button and barely jump and then I wanna be able to hold the jump button down and then my character jump as high as he can because it gets super crazy indoors.

And me personally I think the sprinting animation looks like Goku going super Saiyan 3 full speed. It looks a little over the top, especially if you’re wearing some big ass armor.

I would like the directional movement of the character to have just a little bit more weight to them because we’re kind of getting an ice-skating thing going on.

And honestly, I think one of the biggest things you could do for the game is come out with a completely brand new DLC completely new ideas and mechanics and nobody could complain because it’s a new DLC and it’s not infringing on the classic stuff.

I knew it wouldn’t happen but man, I was really really really really hoping that you could actually see your body now when you’re in first person that would be such a huge thing for my assassin build when I’m leaping 20 feet and I’m trying to figure out where I’m gonna land precisely!

And I know you guys are just trolling us with the no mod support on console because do you have any idea how much money you would miss out on if you didn’t let us have mods!!!!!

The biggest thing for me is I'd like to turn off passive healing. I don't want it removed but being able to toggle it would be fantastic for those who prefer to have it off.

After that, the ability to toggle HUD elements on or off, such as toggling off the compass. I like playing games without on-screen compasses/ mini maps these days.

Really only have two gripes

  1. New shader / pallette is not bad, I get the reasoning. I'd prefer an option for a greener reshade.

  2. Optional old school dpad hotkeys please. Spamming down to chug mana potions while I run is important.

Edit: I also feel like not adding an optional survival mode was a missed opportunity. Not for everyone, but those that would enjoy it would never play any other way.

PLEASE adjust the difficulty between adept and expert! The difference between the two is massive! A baby can beat the game on adept, while expert is catered towards masochists. There needs to be a middle ground.

Lower EXP gains. Leveling is WAY too fast. I am already over level 72 in most of my major skills. Was hoping for the same slow-burn.

EDIT: If you guys don't decrease the EXP gains at least add the "Legendary" option to skills so we can reset them to the original values that we started with and level them up again. I know the classic Oblivion's leveling system was DnD-like, but you guys wanted to modernize it for the younger generation and include Skyrim elements. So, if that is the case at least let us reset our skills to previous values.

Not really a suggestion, but a Fix invisibility breaking enemy Ai during combat. An example is you if you use moon shadow or pop a invisibility potion during combat , it breaks the enemy ai and makes them head track you and freeze in place, and they don’t search for you. This completely destroys the purpose of using invisibility during combat. It works as expected when not initiating combat.

DLC that is the equivalent of Hearthfire, Automotron, etc, something that introduces a kind of cool mechanic in Oblivion but is small scale. 2. give some of the non daedric artifacts unique enchantments that are in the vein of being as unique as the Staff of Sheogorath, Cowl of Nocturnal, etc with cool unique mechanics. seriously why is the Crown of Nenalata lore of "It has a royal glyph with mysterious powers" somehow way more cooler than spell reflect, or conjouration +15, or Alteration +15, like I dunno give the Crown of Nenalata some cool abilities like mind reading or something. Bloodskal Blade from Skyrim was a very cool artifact and so was the Konahrik Mask, update some of the oblivion artifacts to have unique and cool powers/echantments!

I love how the devs improved third person mode in the remaster by taking pointers from Starfield, they should draw even further inspiration from Starfield and make our character’s head turn to face the direction that the camera is facing. Being able to turn our character’s head adds to immersion and would be useful in an eventual photo mode.

On Oblivion Remastered (PC)
There is no variable speed for movement on controller. Either you walk a snails pace, or your run super fast (depending on your speed level).
Can you PLEASE add variable speed to the movement with controller on PC? There is a mod right now but it doesn't always work.
You could make it so that when the left joystick is pressed forward in full, your character moves 100% of your speed level.

I want to thank all of the hard working and extremely talented indiviuals who brought us this wonderfully new and familiar experience. I am eager to dive back into Cyrodill but in my limited time I have some concerns, many of which seems to be shared by the many members of the community, some of which has been resolved by the modding community though I would prefer to not go that route, even as a PC player. I would humbly request the following be considered for implementation.

  1. Adjust difficulty scaling in Adept and higher difficulties to be more linear and streamlined - This will will provide a more consistent and enjoyable experience.

  2. Place level caps on enemies similar to that found in Skyrim - One of the single most immersion breaking elements of the level scaling system is seeing common bandits in full sets of Glass Armor and Daedric Armor. Apart from immersion issues it devalues these items and aids in the massive influx of coin that comes into the player's possession mid-game. Bonus: Assign certain areas their own 'cap' to prevent some enemies from vanishing entirely from the player experience. This is perhaps to the most cumbersome ask by myself and many players within the community. Modders have already tackled this issue in several ways.

  3. Make Quest Rewards scale with the player's level post acquisition - The way quest rewards are handled has been a major point of contention for players since the original. This would be another cumbersome change I am sure but a welcomed one and would remove the fear many have with completing quests before a certain level or without a mod.

  4. Allow character appearance changes after leaving the Sewers - Many players in the past would use a console command or mod to do this. I would recommend adding NPC that provides this service after completing a quest or add a mirror, similar to the one added to the Lords of the Fallen reboot, to player homes that allows for this. Obviously this should be limited to appearance only. No race, birthsign, class change permitted.

  5. Add more customization options; hair, eyes, fur patterns, horns, ect - Another common ask fulfilled by modders.

  6. Improve Khajiit customization; beard removal, choose hair color independent of fur, ect - I adore the new look of the khajiit but the limitations are bothersome and the beard is not for everyone. This seems to be a common ask. Implement suggestion 4 and 5 for the best results and most complete version of this request but even if 6 was implemented by itself that would be great.

  7. Allow us to toggle between the new and old shaders - A few mods have already been released that bring back the original bright and saturated look of the original release and they look fantastic! While I appreciated the darker tone of the Remastered I can't help but feel like a filter for Fallout: New Vegas was slapped on by mistake. I would hope this is an easy feature to add as I have many remasters offer similar features.

Yes I agree, it's nice to have Bangs, different hair varieties, but I would prefer to see hairstyles the developers made that suit the world styles, and cultures.. Not hairs I've seen in other games.
It breaks the immersion for me because I don't feel like I'm walking around in oblivion.. I feel like I'm walking around in an unreal engine 5 asset flip indie project made by fans of oblivion.
There has been plenty of cool hairstyles shown in morrowind and Skyrim that better reflect the world, culture and stuff.

Loving the remastered so far, it has been an absolute joy to come back to Cyrodiil and re-experience of my favorite games. I've been keeping a list of things I would like to see improved, some of which I know have been suggested but might as well reiterate them:

  1. Original color grading option and HDR support.
    • Would be nice to enable HDR
    • Something that stands out about ES since Morrowind is how each game has unique feel to the world. Oblivion always had a bright feel to it that made it memorable. Right now, something feels off to me about the tone of the lighting.
  2. Shift (or control) click to quick sell/quick move stacks of items.
    • Honestly, this is just a standard these days and should have been made for the remaster.
  3. Camera/perspective improvements such as:
    • Photo mode
    • First person horseback riding and combat (along with at least archery)
    • Improve third person animations (something about them are off).
  4. Hud/Inventory improvements such as:
    • Being able to see the required level of a spell instead of saying you can't use the spell.
    • Show soul gem levels.
    • Show inventory weight when looting.
    • Key ring/inventory filters or subcategories to navigate menus quicker.
    • Quick looting system from FO4 would be a nice to have too if possible.
  5. As many people already mention rebalance difficulty and enemy scaling, etc. (I feel like many people who have better suggestions for improving this have left it. But I just want to say I can feel this too.)
  6. Keybind to look at local map, and allow for us to zoom out of the local map more, sometimes for towns I want to just zoom all the way out to see the whole local map.
  7. Some weapon/armor variants that used to have unique models no longer have such models if I recall correctly and it would be a nice to have to have these variants back.
  8. And lastly (for now), character edit after tutorial is just nice to have as well.

The Knights of the Nine dlc has missing audio and missing subtitles during the pilgrimage part.

Before after the final pilgrimage is done, you would hear Pelinal speak to you about you finding his armor then bring you into a vision. It was cool.

Now after the final pilgrimage is done, the game just freezes your character for 10+ seconds before loading the vision as if the audio is playing but nothing is. There is also zero subtitles for the vision section now compared to the original.

I'm sure its been said, but there are some physics objects (specifically the hanging lanterns before you reach the first goblin) in the opening sequence that will move around when struck by a weapon in third person, but don't move when you hit them in first person. Adept makes the game a walk in the park, but bumping it up to the next difficulty, Expert, makes it an absolute slog where enemies kill you in 3 hits while you kill them in 1-3 business days.

For the love of the almighty ---- THE OPTION TO SELECT OG COLOURS. so that green = green. Blue =blue . Red = red. Instead of everything = yellowy desaturated 🟤 brown 💩. The excitement and awe and wonder of the game is drained when all you see is monotone yellows. It's utterly depressing. And it never has that amazing oblivion feel. Looking at a tower in the distance feels meaningless if it's not contrasted by deep blues, greens, etc. Give oblivion it's blue tint back. It enhances the saturation and depth of the image.

The new alchemy creation menu seems to be more obtuse than needed.

The old alchemy screen creation was easy to switch out ingredients but now you can't even do that it seems. To clear the 4 selected ingredients I have to completely back out of the page and then scroll all the way back to my mortar & pesle on the alchemy ingredient page to make a new potion.

The whole new system is a pain and makes alchemy more of an annoyance than it was 20 years ago. It's even hard to tell exactly which ingredient you are hovered over that has been added already

Don't know if anyone else has done this yet, but I used the Atronach Table in Frostcrag Spire to summon an atronach. I left it somewhere outside the tower and have completely lost it. I tried to summon another, hoping it would dismiss the old atronach in the process, but it just says I can only have one atronach at a time. I would really appreciate a way to dismiss the old atronach at the table, teleport it to you or at least add a marker so you can find it again. Really bumbed out that I essentially have a useless Atronach Table. 😦 (Just so everyone knows, I'm a console player. So no console commands 😦 )

Split difficulty between enemy health and enemy damage as 2 separate settings. For example allowing you to use the enemy health of adept difficulty but the enemy damage of master difficulty. This would avoid the spongey enemy issue without trivializing the game. This would also greatly aid with the issue of continued enemy scaling.

Another potential nice fix would be allowing players to pay to upgrade leveled gear at an armorsmith, with the cost increasing or requiring higher leveled components at higher levels.

Both of these features I feel would make the game more enjoyable for higher level play and would allow for longer playtime in a single playthrough like skyrim has

Lots of cool features here that I agree with. However, priority #1 should be adding an intermediate difficulty mode between Adept and Expert ASAP.

Bonus points if you could give us different sliders for "damage taken" and "damage dealt" so we can fine tune our experience!

And please, add analog movement back! It's super grating to only be able to walk or run, no in-between - especially if you have high athletics.

My biggest issue is definitely the lack of analogue movement on controller. I don't feel like I have complete control of my character, and it's really hurting the experience for me.

I'd like to see an option to either use the OG HUD, or turn it off/modify individual elements of it.

Please give the difficulty slider back, or let us modify damage taken/received values separately.

As someone who likes Expert, keep the difficulties as is, but do add like a custom difficulty option that gives you 2 sliders; how much damage you take, and how much damage they take.

  • No health regen, like the original experience. Alchemy and spell casting loses it's purpose with this change.
    The character isn't super human to be healing over time.

  • Might be a minor change, but my eyes still can't get used to this; inventory columns are reversed.
    We used to have: Name - Cost - Weight - Damage/Defense - Health
    Now is:Name - Health - Damage / Defense - Weight - Cost

  • Alchemy instrument are all in the same category as the ingredients.

  • A built in search in the inventory, that would be neat. SkyUI is a great mod for Skyrim. The "all items" tab is pretty useless if I can't filter the items shown.

  • Opening the map when being indoors should default to local map. Also, feels like the tab system among world map/local (like before) is way more useful rather than scrolling into the map.

Fix the broken part of the quest Two Sides of the Coin on PS5 where the game crashes every time you try to sleep to complete your sentence after speaking with Jorundr in the cell. (I submitted a ticket to Bethesda.net already)

Fix the difficulty jump between adept and expert.

Fix the flickering of polygons/textures loading in forever after entering an area. Even on performance mode on a PS5 pro with default FOV settings I’m getting polys and textures loading in forever after loading into a cell. It’s really killing immersion.

Fix the cumbersome alchemy UI.

Couple of minor bugs console:

bottom of the heavy rainment is blue no matter if I wear the blue , red or yellow one (pickpocketed)

Also the Battlehorn castle shield and shield of true horn etc are using the textures from the knights of the thorn and not the proper purple and black of battlehorn castle

Let us use the old footstep sounds. The new ones are very squishy and light, like my character barely weighs anything and won't quit scuffing his feet.

Also, please remove the general inventory opening sound from playing on top of every unique container opening sound effect.

Make white horses WHITE again. I don’t know if it’s a bug, but they’re fairly grey and their mane is mostly black in color, which makes no sense.

Please rework/revist Martin Septim’s model. I have watched portions of 4 playthroughs and every single streamer noted how unattractive/funny he looks. The uniformity of this opinion surprises me. On a side note Sheogorath looks unfinished, too. Most other NPC’s seem fine.

The Knights of Nine questline is seriously buggy and needs more of an overhaul. I can go into detail if needed, but it feels rather unfinished and neglected at the moment.

Other than these small complaints (got about 15hrs into it rn) I am pretty happy with everything. My other qualms can probably be addressed with mods (including these I suppose).

I noticed that the Magicka bar no longer constantly passively regenerates, and pauses when casting a spell, unfortunately making it much easier to run out of Magicka during combat. Was this an intended change? I'd love for it to be restored to how it was.

So I think so far for me I have one main idea what should be written on list to do. Pleaces that are separate with loading screens. I am aware you remakes this game according to it's spirit but this really should be more for 2025 year. Make game as main terrain separated with just one loading screen....yesterday I was doing some gate and when I was running between doors game was loading everytime. Please make this just as one separate instance....this will make loading screen appearing just once...well two when entering and when leaving. But when running inside this instance it will be without loading screens. So for me this is point on which you really should work. Kind regards 🙂

My only real issue with the remaster is think removing first person horse riding is silly, and reimplimenting it shouldn't be difficulyt given the funcitonality already existed in the original version.

My muscle memory from Oblivion classic keeps messing with me, but I would love an option to get the hotkey wheel back on the D-pad on controller. Having 4 buttons that take you to menus you can already reach with the start button feels silly.

It would also be nice if the hotkey wheel would pause the game while you select things, and if you could choose to navigate it with the left thumbstick instead.

And if tapping left and right with the left thumbstick could swap between the sub-menu tabs instead of just using the triggers. A lot of the menu navigation decisions feel like changes for the sake of changes when Oblivion classic did some aspects just fine.

Look, I’m js it’d be easier for the devs to consolidate and prioritize suggestions if they could actually see the specific suggestions people want. Also, this isn’t a bug report, it’s a suggestion pertaining to the rules of the dev-run channel we’re in.

Right now, melee combat, much like the original doesn't have an answer to countering a blocking NPC. You either have to punish a miss, counter after blocking an attack yourself, turn cap the NPC by running around them so you hit around their block angle, or hit an NPC while they idle hoping they don't flick block and land a guaranteed 3 hit punish on you while you recoil, regardless if you power attack or not. This punishing of offense leads to very defensive melee gameplay, only attacking when you can guarantee damage or by using magic when NPC's block. I would recommend that the recoil be reduced so that blocking gives just enough stun so the blocker gains initiative to counter, or make it so that power attacks don't recoil the attacker. This will allow melee focused builds options so that you're not punished every time you choose to attack without defending first, increasing the amount of viable melee builds. ALSO unless it's too far gone, I know some people like the set combos but free flowing combos like the original felt very good and fluid. If there was a way to integrate alternating animations to keep the general feel of the current combos, without having them end the exact same way every time, that would also increase game feel, especially in a game that can have spongy enemies.

Guard break only occurs when the NPC or yourself runs out of stamina when attempting to block. This means you have to use Magic, Poisons, or hand to hand in an attempt to lower their fatigue before you even begin the thought of attacking a block. So if you choose to be a melee focused build, you are incentivized to change your playstyle to include those mechanics, or again stay defensive and allow the NPC to waste their own stamina. The suggestions are just a way to give a melee only focused build room to be aggressive.

  1. in the original it was easier to outreach longswords, bears and ogres, now it’s impossible.
  2. in the original there wasn’t a delay between 1st and 2nd strikes. You can’t reposition between 1st and 2nd strikes due to reach issues. It’s impossible to combo without trading damage. You cannot stack enchantments reliably too.
  3. in the original it was safe to transition regular attack into block, now there is a delay.

Overall speed seems to be bugged, claymores are supposed to be faster than battle axes but they feel as slow as warhammers

I know this has been asked a lot probably but adding my voice to the chorus.

Please add some sort of "reforging" mechanic for quest and scaled item rewards (and spells!). This gives a in-game way to properly scale items you've gotten as a reward rather than them being obsolete after a few levels. Some suggestions:

  1. Have a limited number of 'artisan' NPCs offer the service - maybe one for each type?
  2. Have some sort of cost with it, scaling with level - a level 10 will pay less to reforge chillrend than a level 20 for example.

Did i get it right that fatigue no longer affects weapon damage? It feels like it, but it's very hard to test

IMHO this is a very boring change. There's no point in fatigue potions anymore except for power attacks or sprinting.

It also reduces the max damage you can deal with weapons because fortified fatigue no longer boosts weapon damage.

Please revert it. If you want to make weapon damage better, just increase the numbers on higher tier weapons please!

First of all, thank you very much for this release!
I've noted a few things that caught my attention and wanted to share them with you — most of these seem relatively easy to fix or implement:

Missing general subtitles: When NPCs speak outside of dialogue interactions, their speech isn’t subtitled. There doesn’t seem to be an option to enable this.

No option to disable the UI: I'd love to play without on-screen indicators or the target point, but unfortunately, there's currently no way to turn them off.

FPS drops during rain: As soon as it starts raining, performance noticeably drops. (This might be more difficult to address.)

Quest assignment issues: I encountered cases where quests weren't properly assigned, even though the NPC delivered the dialogue (e.g., the Fighters' Guild's first quest).

ik this has been said a lot but im currently stuck with an Rtx 3050 8gb card right now and im struggling to maintain 45-55 fps when playing on Very low settings, with DLSS set to quality and would love to see some optimization updates to have a more Stable Fps. Thank you Bethesda and Virtuous for this amazing release! I want to chime in on the difficulty settings. They seem way out of whack. Adept seems fine if you want a casual experience, but I like a bit of challenge. But then expert feels like I'm absolutely forced to cheese every encounter because there's no way I can mentally deal with having to kite single enemies around for minutes on end while I whittle away their huge healthbars.

My suggestion would be to add two separate difficulty sliders: One for damage dealt, one for damage taken. That way everyone can tweak until it feels just right for you. Personally, I want a more realistic experience where every strike is dangerous on both sides of the fight, so higher enemy damage, but also normal player damage.

Please fix the level scaling of weapons. Unique weapons like Chillrend are useless if you get them early. Make the weapon level scaling like Skyrim’s. That’s my only real complaint. I think I see what's going on now. It looks like the "Empty" label is displayed on corpses in general but does not display when the corpse has "non-playable" items that the player cannot see or loot. So I'll clarify this suggestion to have "Empty" display when the corpse has no items the player can actually take rather than only when the corpse is truly empty.

I know you've probably heard this over and over again, but it has to be said:

  1. The muddy brown filter that is present in most of the game's visual design needs to go. It's washing out all the colours and makes the world look dreary and dull.

  2. NPC faces need to be fixed.... some of them are... cursed. Why do the elves have extremely slanted, deep sunken eyes? Why do their smiling faces look so scary?

  3. Unlevelled item rewards. No one likes being scammed out of an otherwise good weapon because we got it too early on in the game.

  4. I want my full spectrum colour wheel back in the character creator.

  5. Where's the 'medium' difficulty level? There's only 'easy' and then 'everything is an hp sponge'

Just chiming in with another vote for first-person horseback riding. It may seem small, but it's something that is foundational to my experience with the game. It's because I started playing when my Dad got sick, and Oblivion was the perfect thing to get immersed in when I needed a break from the misery and grief. Even if for just an hour where I rode through the countryside. It took my mind off it. I could pretend for a while I actually was riding through a far land. It was just what I needed. It was mighty disappointing when Skyrim came out to realize my only option was to look at a horse's butt. And it was a little crushing to realize the remaster also did away with it. Please give me my chill gameplay experience back.

There is no variable speed for movement on controller. Either you walk a snails pace, or your run super fast (depending on your speed level).
Can you PLEASE add variable speed to the movement with controller on PC? There is a mod right now but it doesn't always work.
You could make it so that when the left joystick is pressed forward in full, your character moves 100% of your speed level.

I would love to see the cast animations of the spell effects change when you create a spell that has multiple elements to either show all spell animations in the cast(like morrowind) or at least go back to being whichever is first in the order. (Like og oblivion)

Example: fire frost and lightning spell just does frost spell animation instead of a mix(like morrowind) or whichever you put first in the order (lightning, frost, fire -lightning is the animation)(like oblivion)

The black box that pops up in the middle of the screen whenever you look at interactive environment with the name of the item/NPC is really intrusive and distracting. It throws you out of the immersion, I think the way the original handled it was better, by putting it down in the corner of the screen. The same for the white outliners for every object you can interact with, for me it is pretty immersion breaking. It would be great if the black box could be moved to somewhere other than in the middle of screen, and if the white outlines could be removed

  3. An indicator that a dungeon/location has been cleared.

  4. More complex settings for the difficulty slider, similar to the options given in Starfield.

  5. Make dead Slaughterfish bloat to the surface like in the original game.

  6. Maybe dual-weilding? (The Oblivion purist in me says no, but it would be interesting.)

  7. Update the sprinting animation, as well as make npcs not hunch around as they are walking.

  8. Casting spell projectiles, such as Fireball, should be extinguished when it comes into contact with the water.

  9. Shooting arrows into the water should cause a small splash effect.

  10. Swinging your sword at a tripwire should activate it, just like in the old version.

That's all I can think of atm.

Also, thank you Bethesda and Virtuous for the remaster, I still can't believe I am playing the game today!

Performance is a huge one. Game just isn't stable, even on high end rigs.

Walking/running feels very floaty and feels out of place, needs some work.

Horse riding all around is a buggy experience. Shorten the animation time for mount/dismount.
add mounted combat and first person view.

Make the inventory more intuitive, additional radial menu for magic etc. Add more sorting options and customization. SkyUI is a great example.

I'm playing on Xbox and have a few QoL tweaks around speech/mercantile.

  1. On the speechcraft mini game, it is not telling you that their disposition has maxed out - instead you need to leave the mini game and reenter to see.
  2. The ability to click haggle is greyed out when on your selling inventory. This means you need to switch to buy, set the haggle percent and then switch back to sell.

Yes, difficulty scaling is scuffed. Adept is too easy. Damage dealt being scaled down in higher difficulties is a mistake. I'm fine with taking more damage, but I hate damage sponges.

The "Camera motion" accessibility option ignores the vast majority of camera motion. Even simply drawing a weapon has a silly amount sometimes, let alone actually swinging at enemies.

Hi guys, thanks for the remaster first of all, having a great time reliving the childhood. Only real issue for me is the menu UI, in the remaster you guys dropped the sub categories for menus, I'm struggling to find certain things in the inventory and having to scroll endlessly for small things.

This in particular is inside the magic menu, could we add sub categories for the Greater Powers / Lesser Powers / Spells and the alchemy menu.

There are 3 things that would make the game even better:

Many of the suggestions here are coming from a preference point of view, what people would like to see added, removed or changed in some way. These suggestions are all subjective and of course valid. 1 change that simply MUST be made is the performance of the game, the ability for the game to run smoothly on people's chosen hardware. XSX here and whilst at the start it was choppy but okay, acceptable perhaps and because everything else is so cool, the performace was just a minor thing. But once you progress into the game an enemies start appearing in numbers, denser places of the world with more trees and bushes, the snowy areas up to the north and the coastal areas the performance becomes unbearable. It needs to be optimised and improved without delay. This is not a suggestion or some luxury that I would like added, it is a requirement. Quality mode on console is unplayable, it makes me feel sick and performance mode is what I would expect from a quality mode usually. It needs fixing, hopefully that's top priority over there.

  • While it's cloudy, the game has absolutly no more shadows and looks a bit flat, not sure if it's possible to fix this cause it's linked to Lumen/Raytracing in UE5, but if there can be improvement for this specific lighting condition to look better, that would be really cool !

  • Some horses are a bit shiny at night for some reason

  • Enhanced horse hooves sound on stones, should make way more noise while it's currently muffled

  1. Allow fortified attributes and skills beyond 100, contribute bonuses meaningfully to the player. In the original game, fortifying Longblade beyond level 100, makes no difference to damage output. Which can make endgame armor/jewelery enchantments practically unneeded.

  2. (Preference) Given that there are new first person animations, maybe allow the player to see their body when they look down in first person.

  3. Not sure if it's been patched yet, but there is a bug where Oblivion Fire/Land mines will stop exploding after the player exceeds a certain Level.

  4. Allow the player to trade equipment with generic followers. Sometimes followers equipment breaks, so the option to take their gear to repair would be nice. This is an issue I encountered with the Battlehorn Soldiers in the original version.

2 quests are bugged that i cant complete could they be fixed? (A shadow over hackdirt) saved the girl shes in her mothers house but i cant speak to them about it and they act like its completed. the second one is called (Corruption and Conscience) i waited 2 hours like the game says and went to cheydinhal bridge inn but he wont show up and i cant find him anywhere

When playing via Cloud Gaming on Xbox One S, I keep ending up moving items when trying to just interact with them. It seems like maybe the delay in transmitting inputs is causing the interact to be interpreted as a long press. I've seen some other folks say they have this issue too on other platforms.

Dev's hear me out I love the remaster howerver the combat please give us skyrims comabt with the kill came move's and the decapitaions. I always wanted skyrim to have spell making but seeing how you guys remade oblivion why not up the combat with the kill move's and the back stab animations and arrow kill cam's. And maybe with spell making with some being make change to some spell animations so they look more unique like maybe fireball incased in lightning , iceball incased in a flame or turned to a smoke bomb ect like when spells are being made they looked synergized. Also with spell crafting why not give us options to make projectiles, walls of magic, maybe rune magic's, traps , globs , maybe for some lightning made spells have like clouds appear above enemies that channel a lightning strike, or maybe snow shards to make it look like it snowing ect. And lastly pleeeeeeeeeeaaaase add werewolf in oblivion vampire is cool an all but a werewolf with the kill cam animations if you guys add it would draw in more appeal. This is more of a gripe, but I keep going into third person when I get knocked down. I would like to keep my POV as I set it when I get back up. I get the need for the animation, but after it plays, I want to be in first person again.

Also, the ability to respec. I didn't realize I had forgot to add any useful combat skills besides destruction and unarmed until I was already midway through the Arena Questline. Granted, that's my own stupidity.

There’s a minor bug involving the sound design. Containers (chests, drawers, and cupboards) all use the corpse searching sound. In the original game, these containers had unique sounds of their own when interacted with.

Another suggestion about the scaling system. Here is a hidden gemstone of a mod that practically fixes Oblivions Enemy scaling system. It makes it so that leveled lists don't become obsolete, even at higher levels.

I'd like to add, that once you reach I high enough level, some of the creatures will simply stop spawning, such as low level ghosts and atronachs. It's a shame that these detailed creatures no longer spawn in for the player to encounter once they reach a high enough level. Fixing this would break the monotony of encountering the same high leveled creature over and over again. It can be fixed with a simple tweak to the leveled lists as shown in the mod a provided.
