It's sad to see. Criterion was finally on to something nice imo. The games keep improving a bit, unbound was a bit weird imo but definitely fun, heat was too short. But with the reboot in 2015 I think NFS got a good new life they just need to fine tune the recipe. It's sad to see it probably switch from studio again

They were definitely onto something. My last wish from whoever may work on the next one is to just abandon the handling model that they've been tweaking since the 2015 reboot. I get it's improved and all, but man, I still don't like it. There's definitely room to improve how driving feels in any NFS game onwards, especially since their Codemasters acquisition. Ironically enough, the Codies acquisition brought back Slightly Mad Studios. If you didn't know already, they did both NFS Shift games and worked on pCars after they left EA.

I get Frostbite has been their choice for nearly 10 years, but they've been working on an engine that is both hard to work with and has been originally meant for FPS games. They've got a golden chance now with both the Ego and Madness engines under their belts. I did hear the new WRC game will use Unreal though.

(I also hope that the next NFS has a properly good and varied soundtrack)

I think the soundtracks of nfs 2015 and payback were quite nice actually. I really enjoyed those games. Might play 2015 again soon just for Magnus Walker and Akira Nakai. Legends

anyone familiar with usb repairs?

kind of stuck, not sure what to do

when I plug the USB in the green bar goes along like normal reading the USB, it stops close to the end, I can’t interact with the USB in any way and my PC ends up going really slow, If I right click to format or eject nothing happens until I pull the USB out, after that all the menus pop up of what I clicked and my PC goes back to normal. Is there any way to save the files I had on it? I’ve tried 3rd party software to try and repair the USB but since the PC isn’t fully reading it, those programs don’t pick it up, I've tried right clicking and opening properties but as I said before nothing happens, no menus pop up until I unplug the usb, I've tried opening disk management but its froze on "connecting to virtual disk service" and as soon as i remove the usb it will show the disks

i have 16gb and it does alright with video editing- but i can easily tell that if i had 32gb the many struggles i face would be gone- 1tb looks good, the RTX 4050 seems good aswell and the I5 seems beefy enough- ur system would be alot stronger than the one i got- and i only struggle with video editing when i have 10-20 layers of work ontop of eachother- so if that isnt smth ur gonna encounter- then ur system seems completely fine (but pick 16gb, going for 8 would be editing hell)

@oblique sorrel I've already stated my problem with this, not only are the graphical improvements barely noticeable and if there are any gameplay improvements, i've not seen anyone talk about 'em. But it's less about the game itself and more the fact that they've been doing this for over 10 years, nothing but The Last of Us, a couple Uncharted games, and remasters.

Like I said. I would be less annoyed about this if Naughty Dog were actually doing anything else. I understand Crash is owned by Activision now, so I know why they're not doing that, but as far as i can tell they still own Jak and Daxter. Would be interesting to have another game in that franchise come out, the last time they released anything for that was 2017, which was just a rerelease of the original games and Jak X: Combat Racing.

Like it just seems like all they're doing over there is The Last of Us and I am getting a little bit sick of it at this point.

Have you tried procreate dream yet? I just got it last night and it's got some great features! Been playing with it on some animations I've made in the past and I'm impressed. Key frames for motion like aftereffects as well as the drawing and animation tools with onion skin. Even let's you import audio!

I only brought up the Dreams software since you had mentioned premier and didn't know if you had ever played with the minor motion tools they have. If you ever want to get into animating I definitely recommend it.

That aside, Do let you thinking you're not "good enough" hold you back from things. Tools are simply that and nothing more. Tools. Skill comes from practicing with those tools. But tools also have many uses and how you choose to use them can be completely different than someone else's. This is art, not fixed science. Have fun with it. Try things, try everything. Don't let anyone stop you, especially yourself. You do good art.

It was painful lol
I didn't dig directly through the files as I don't know how to do it. I simply took screenshots while removing different layers and using cheats to access zones that weren't accessible (like the top of buildings)

But believe me, if I knew how to dig in, it would've saved me... probably hundreds of hours.

My favorite is probably the Tales of the Space Age in terms of aesthetics. My other sets are Shelby GT500, McLaren Senna and the Ford GT. I haven't yet bought one of the expensive big sets but i'd like to. If I remember correctly the Tallneck was one of the best sets for the price. Really big set too and it stands out

Ooo Tales of the Space Age is a really nice one! I have a suspicion you might like cars a bit. and mhm! can't afford the very expensive one and i love the creature design in horizon so it added up for me pretty well

Yes, I love cars indeed haha. Favorite is the Nissan GT-R and I would pay big bucks for a good nissan gt-r set with a gearbox and all that. And yes, horizon's enemy designs are also some of my favorites. But as a pc gamer I got to play it very late when the hype was low, still an amazing game and climbing the tallneck in the actual game for the first time was a really cool moment.
