Might be an unpopular opinion, but softlocks or not, I’m still having a blast. At the end of the day, you create your own fun, and I think the future looks exciting. People need to remember this is an early release game it’s nowhere near the finished product yet. The potential is clear, and I honestly appreciate what’s here so far. My inner kid is healing!

To whoever is stuck on the "Transition Skating 101" quest, if you have multiple usb ports on your pc/console, plug your controller into a different slot then try grabbing your board, for me it fixed it, hopefully it's the same for u

Steam has mixed reviews and I can't blame them. The game itself is great, the map is great. I know it's early access but this is a AAA studio.

People can barely log in, people are still stuck on tutorial island, those of us on the mainland can't even progress, there's a slight lag randomly every minute or two from what I assume is people joining or leaving the server, and the challenges aren't enough to keep the game alive.

The devs obviously work hard on it, but the higher-ups making them release an unfinished cash-grab because of the nostalgia is what will require the devs to do some No Man's Sky level of saving after this launch.

Not being able to progress because of soft locks aside, I really liked the original story of trying to acquire sponsors… the game just feels pretty soulless rn and the challenges feel kinda bleh when all you feel like you’re completing them for is clothes and you don’t even have a say in which clothes you’re trying to unlock. I don’t feel connected to my character at all, the city feels empty and small. Everything shouldn’t be a skate spot like wym “skate eyes” when everywhere you look has a ramp. The npcs don’t have any personality. The only thing I really like about this game so far is the controls but idek how much better they feel than the old skate games if at all.

Yes. I fixed it for me and my friend by turning off crossplay and turning it back on, for both players. It involves two restarts.

I GOT A FIX AROUND THE SOFT LOCK BEGINNING MISSION !!!

So if you have a friend that has the gullcrest region unlocked, they can start up a co-op mission with you and if you complete enough together you will level up and unlock the other missions thru that! You will still not be able to complete that single softlock mission but you will be able to unlock everything past it this way. It took like 10-12 co-op missions for me to get the gullcrest unlocked and be able to do missions on my own now. Hope this helps some people out!!

Try toggling the mission (click it and click it back on) from the Hub > Missions menu

For cross play console > PC: Have the Console player open their party to everyone, have the PC player join console player from friends list (no invites) manually join.

Honestly was very skeptical of the game from videos ive seen online, but im pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy the game so far. The physics are smooth and thd parkour is an addition I never knew I needed. Aside from some infuriating bugs (I was softlocked and had to restart entirely with a new EA account) the game is pretty solid, and none of you can even really complain because its free. You arent losing anything trying it, and if you dont like the game, thats fine! Just play something else.

I think people complain about all these new games that come out trying to force micro transactions down your throat because they’re free to play games, but the real reason is because the games themselves aren’t even fun. This game is as fun as skate three which I have happily played for free for the past decade. Sidenote: this is also where you can read missions unlock requirements which I feel like a lot of people who think they are soft* locked just are not noticing they have requirements to meet before the mission will pop, again it tells you what you need to unlock them.

If you have followed the instructions on the EA website to enable crossplay for your systems already

• For cross play console > PC: Have the Console player open their party to everyone, have the PC player join console player from friends list (no invites) manually join. (this worked for me playing with xbox/pc not saying it will for you but worth trying)

Error 528614044 has completely blocked me from playing with my friends at this point. Friend is on PS5 and I am on PC and we can't join each other because of "crossplay being disabled" but it isn't for either of us. We have restarted our games and still nothing. Look at your missions in Hub menu - you have a main mission that has requirements. Co-op missions are not required to finish (but do give xp) Then you can revisit later when coop its working for you.
