If I don't get into the playtest in the next wave I will NOT being playing Session or SkaterXL. The session animations are not that good, Skate1 has better animations. XL with mods looks decent, but SKATE. looks like the animations are sick. The art style seems like it'll be something I'll get used to real quick, because I'll care more about doing tricks well and not about my Fortnite haircut.

I believe so. His lines are all realistic, and the mechanics look amazing to me. I’m not a fan of the cartonnish look of the skaters either, but at the end of the day, gameplay is my biggest concern. I really like it.

Probably because in game previews are made exactly to promote what it will be like, that's how every in game preview works and why you hear about downgrade backlash from Ubisoft every few years. I do believe the character style will eventually change to become what we saw in the “we’re working on it” clip, I’ve assumed the current style is to facilitate for so many people on different platforms during the test. If I’m the marketing team for skate. I’m not posting that clip years ago then quietly changing to a stylised look forever and hoping no one notices

Aesthetically, skate 2 has the best look, but the tricks in skate 3 are more technical. I prefer advancement of skate tricks than an overall look of the game.

They have the mocap data but getting it into a different rig is a lot of work. There's a whole lot of discreet anim and keyframe facial work too that goes into a game this huge aswell. All of the environment surfacing is heavily stylized, it's not just about models

Though I've messed around with color grading to make it less Yellow than it normally would be. I donno if the VX1000 is actually like that, but in Session it is like, slightly grainy and also YELLOW.

I had played some of the earlier skate games at a friend place beforehand and just didn’t know there was a skate 3, I just thought skate 1 and 2 were the only ones since that’s what my friend had at the time, but then I found out and begged my mom for it, but waited until I had saved up enough haha, helped clean my dads friends boat back then to get enough money (it wasn’t actually paid work, I was just raised to always work for what I want) so they gave me the exact amount I needed for like 1 hour work and an ice cream haha

I think the langue gets a little confusing keeping track of playtesting, vs Early Access, and then for the videos the skate. council get to make, we were given early access to the playtest build, which isn't actually the Early Access but I think contributes to some of the confusion a little lol
