The devs have their own version of the replay editor when they capture clips for the vids on socials etc.

You want constructive criticism from an average player? Here you go:

From the first trailers, to the initial gameplay reveals, to the current version, how long has it been? Three, maybe four years? And what’s actually changed besides the HUD? In my opinion, not much. The city feels soulless just wandering NPCs, and every part of the map looks pretty much the same. There are no memorable spots or landmarks that really stick with me.

But in my opinion, the game currently looks fine for casual, Sunday players and pretty bad for those who know the Sk… series well.

As for the graphics some people like them, some don’t. I think they’re okay, but they still need some polish.

For gameplay: no classic story mode, no big skateboard brands, no real pro skaters… I don’t know, it’s just that the first three games got us used to something completely different. And now suddenly there’s a new entry not a spin-off, supposedly a mainline title but it’s free-to-play and clearly built around microtransactions.

And I’ll also add that I’m one of those players who’d much rather see darkslides in the game than some endless, goofy rolling around.

And still this is my opinion, not straight hate. I just can’t write anything else. Just have hope.

Understandable but also it's not really cartoony as much as people are saying it is. The characters have a different art style but the game still looks mostly realistic - characters have realistic proportions, there's more actually realistic tricks and such that can be done (even though there's also some crazy unrealistic stuff too), there's real life brands that actually kinda look realistic

Absolutely agree with this take. The second a game has bold colors or stylized characters, people instantly say, “oh, it looks like Fortnite,” like Epic invented cartoony art styles. We’ve been so flooded with that look that anything even slightly similar just gets tossed in the same category, even if the game has a completely different tone or design. It’s lazy commentary, and it ignores the fact that stylized visuals have been around way before Fortnite. Think Team Fortress 2, Jet Set Radio, Wind Waker, even Overwatch. As a skater, session and skater xl both took some hours to click. I find it less realistic in session though, because they made it so controls made sense according to what you see on screen, making stick swap direction mid air. In this way i find skater xls control scheme more realistic. I have over 1500 hours in both games
