If you want something free to play: Warframe it’s a cooperative sci fi shooter. Completely free to play and all expansions are free. Final Fantasy XIV is an mmo rpg that has a free trial with some restrictions. You have unlimited playtime. You can level up Characters up to level 70 and have access to the first 2 dlc expansions. There are some more restrictions that I don’t know about.

with every major update in the Playtest, we do a reset.
with the start of in-store testing in March, we still do resets, but any SVB (San Van Bucks) purchased or items purchased with SVB will remain in your account - UNTIL Early Access.

for that update, everything will be reset, but any $$ you spent on SVB will be returned as SVB in your in-game wallet to have you ready for Early Access.
