When I started at EA 13 1/2 years ago, I was a phone advisor and it was right after Skate 3 launched. I worked the phones for 6 months then was the forum admin for Slate 3, Battlefield, NFS, BioWare, and The Sims.

My roles have been either direct support (EA Help) or global community (for the last 9 years - Battlefield, NFS, Rocket Arena, then skate. since Dec 2020)
It’s a blast working with skaters making skateboarding games.

EA Playtesting is the group that handles all playtests for EA games. skate Insider is the skate. specific segmentation of playtesting. But EA Playtesting sends out the emails.

I enjoyed battlefield 1… I think that was the last FPS I played outside of Battlefront 2. The gameplay on that was solid and felt nice and grounded… as grounded as a sci-fi themed game can be!

we haven't had 2 years of playtesting yet. It's literally been 18 months - and we started small and each test has grown significantly.

now, the alternative is to do like a lot of games and develop behind closed doors and have a "beta" (or nearly finished demo) right before launch. but that's not we want to do. so we are bringing the community along the development path by sharing details via Board Rooms, blogs, and playtest videos - and getting folks into the early builds, get feedback, go back and work/improve/add, then test again.

nope. if you signed up, you're in the pool, but if you miss emails to register, don't do surveys, you reduce the potential to get in. so, always keep an eye on your inbox, follow up with any EA Playtesting/skate. Insider emails, do all the surveys sent, and ensure your playtesting profile is updated.
