it's called "Rich Presence" and is a feature of linking your EA account to your Discord account.
You can disable the visibility via the EA app - but it's not breaking NDA if it shows. The moment someone SAYS "yeah, I'm playing and X, Y, Z" then they have broken the NDA and will most likely be removed from playtesting (for this test - and potentially all future tests).

This! In-built tools are cool and all, but there are hard limitations more times than not, often resulting in hacky workarounds at best

Something I loved about XL and Session are maps are built using the same tools as the developers, at least from my understanding

If they released a pre-alpha or earlier game most wouldn't play it, lack of content lack of goals or stuff to do. It's basically just a game physic test and maybe a few abilities. 95%+ of the playerbase of a game in that state wouldn't stick around.

Nah, we don't get annoyed. If you signed up once - and haven't been removed from playtesting for naughtiness, you're still in the potential pool. Multiple signups just get removed. Doesn't increase your chances.

NOW - if you get a survey, it DOES impact your chances (slightly) if you don't complete it. If you get an invite, you HAVE to register (there's a button in the email to register) or you won't get selected.
If you complete any surveys sent, click Register if you get that email, you still need to be selected, but your in good shape.

it's the same playtesting team running it - just skate. branded and a slightly different sign-up flow. EA Playtesting manages playtests for all EA titles.
