Went with an all white build, Lian Li case. Got an i7-13700k (Was gonna go 900 but everyone I know who has one says its really unnecesary) and I have my 3080 from my current build.

Problem is that ive never been able to utilize my 3080 since release because i have an i7-8700, so my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu, and I cant upgrade the CPU in this current build because the mobo is old, and i cant upgrade the Ram either because of the Mobo.

So Prime day starts, and I just decide, screw it. I needed a new build for my 3080 anyway, why not just go for it.

You might want to look it up though because in my research I saw it mentioned that the i7 12 and 13gen processors for some reason in their chipset bow ever so slightly and an adapter is recommended to secure it better to the heatsink for optimal cooling and less stress

I think Cyberpunk is one of the few games thats really well optimized for how... iffy it was at launch.

I was able to run it at a solid 60 FPS on Psycho RTX mode or whatever they call it in game

oh yeah i forgot to add my fans to that part picker list, i just bought 6 thermalright pwm 120mm fans for £20 and stuck em in there, system still runs very quiet

each 3 pack fan kit was like £9, life saver

See I needed a PC upgrade and saw at Costco something that looked like a great deal at $1300 until I looked more into it and the processor was nice but everything else was a huge downgrade creating a bottle neck everywhere and it would cost more than a separate build to upgrade everything properly to spec.
So in my frustration of seeing every single prebuilt in existence do that. (Have one superior part and everything else be sad. Not ONE single rig out there had what I was looking for) I caved into building my own.

Online prebuilts arent too bad, you can kinda justify the price. But in store pre-builts are usually just RGB and Expensive, but will have an i5, or if it has an i7, will have like a 3060 in it for around $2000+. Cant justify them

Theres a really cool app on the Quest that allows you to remote desktop, and you can run games from your Steam VR library into your Quest without any wires or anything. Almost 0 latency. Was really cool

I think what Apple and Meta are doing is good with the whole $1000+ headsets. Mainly because only rich people will buy them and be the playtesters, then eventually we, the consumers, will get better cheaper ones. The PSVR2 is already better than the Valve Index and costs $500 less so were headed in the right direction.

For all of the issues Halo Infinite has had, that is one thing I do enjoy. The Battle Pass doesn't expire. You can buy a past BP, select it and work through it at your own time. Thought that was an interesting way to go about it

I agree! Love the concept! I just wish XP wasnt useless in that game. Was one of my top 5 favorite games of all time, and although the actual game is fine, plays great, the Season pass challenge system kills it for me.

Like, lets compare Call of Duty to Halo for a minute.

Call of Duty takes a few matches to rank up the battlepass... but at least you can see progress towards it.

In Halo, you could get 30 kills in a match, but if you didnt complete your challenge to get 3 headshots with a Sniper, on a map that doesnt even have a sniper, no Battle Pass progress for you.

Its more of a chore in Halo, whereas in Cod you can mindlessly rank it up

If Halo couldve combined them. A Battle Pass you can complete whenever you want, challenges that'll boost BP progression, and normal playtime boosts BP progression, it would be perfect.

@hoary bough Idk if you knew this but in winter Halo updated the way you earn XP in matches that isn't challenge dependant anymore. You earn more XP when you complete a challenge but you get XP for completing matches, being in the top 50%, winning and other things now

the arc a770 is a great performer for dx12 and vulkan

its even good for ray tracing, but as you hit stuff using opengl, d3d11 and older, it all falls apart

for reference, my old gpu, the gtx 980 ti performs about the same as the arc a770 16gb gpu in csgo, which is supposed to compete with the 3060 ti in performance

with what we've seen like controlling the speed of your tricks, and also the zany parkour elements, it definitely seems like full circle is trying to make something that works for absolutely everybody, which blends perfectly with the free to play aspects and the fact that they dont want to create any barriers

fortnite doesnt work well with nanite, RT and lumen. it definitely works, as in it runs without issue. but fortnites art style doesnt do it justice

there is no reason for any of that to be in fortnite

fortnite looks terrible now no matter what visuals you push

if they stuck with the previous artstyle it used to have, pushing all these new technologies, it would look way better

That is correct. Participating in one playtest doesn't not automagically grant you access every time.
Each test focuses on different things - and we try to bring back some folks (randomly), add new folks who haven't gotten in, etc.
