I'm adaptive skateboarder Chris Gentry. Over the years adaptive skateboarding has had huge momentum in competitive sports from skateboarding to snowboarding etc. Would it be possible to either add a few adaptive skateboarders or even make create a skater options for prosthesis or missing limbs? I do a bit of game design myself so it shouldn't be hard to null an arm or leg out in able body animations etc. This would be a huge win for the adaptive sports community and something that is highly overdue. 1. I like to support game devs.
2. I like skateboarding games.
3. Competition and variety is healthy for the industry.
4. The variation between super arcade (THPS), sim-cade (Skate franchise), and simulation (Session & SXL) is a nice change of pace.

I still don’t think any game will hock me like skate. I played tony hawk when it came out. It didn’t challenge me like skate. I went from the easiest in skate 3 to the hardest, and loved the fact that the game got harder for me

Session and SXL are amazing games for when i want to irl skateboard but my ankle hurts or it is raning

Thps is still so fun to turn off my brain and go for 1 Million Points lol

But Skate. is just all around good, fun

I actually didn't play a THPS game since the first skate. was released till about last month when I found 1+2 for cheap at game exchange.

It was so hard for me to get used to THPS controls I was actually going pretty slow through the tutorials because X/A to push along with pushing forward with the left stick to push harder is so ingrained in my muscle memory I was so confused. The game felt so incredibly fast because I could seem to control my speed. Like all of a sudden you're just moving forward really fast lol. I got it down with a few hours of playing but I'm happy there's no footage of me trying to learn it. 😅

After playing 1+2 for a bit, I ended up with a weird callus on my right thumb from the button pressing that I haven't gotten from any other game.

It’s kinda just fizzled out. Every year more and more companies were pulling out of the actual event and instead doing their own presentation. They were going to do E3 this year, but so many companies pulled out that they cancelled it. Sucks cause the E3 conferences were sooo hype

E3 really suffered from covid too. Companies were like hey actually we could just do this on our own prerecorded and digitally and it’s way easier lol

It cost a LOT to put on a show at E3.
Even if you're not center stage.
That's why a lot of the big folks moved away - because they are also bound by restrictions from the E3 group for their spot.
So they did their own thing. The loss of the BIG ones started the decline in the event, which they tried to boost by allowing public (it used to be industry/press only).
That didn't really help shore up the mega-losses.
