@nocturne perch This is part of development. The first part is to get the mechanics right. You don't start out with fully rendered characters/worlds and hope your gameplay mechanics fit. Sorta like you don't put the coat of paint on a car before building the engine.

So, the best way to play Skate 1, 2 and 3 is to buy an The Xbox Series X then just play the Xbox 360 versions of those games?
I tried Streaming them with PlayStation Now, but it just kept skipping. I noticed the The Xbox Series X is now in stock all the time at Bestbuy for the correct MSRP.

Skate and Skate 3 are also on Game Pass / EA Play, so if you have a subscription to that (which I suggest), you can play them without a physical disc. You'd just need to find a copy of Skate 2.

To clarify any confusion, invites don’t come from this server. This server is a place for skateboarders and fakeboarders (skateboard games fans) to chill - chill being the operative word - and hang out as we (the team working on skate.) build the next game.

Tbh the first question is, how would you police that in a scale like skate, XL has a very serious playerbase even if it's small, much like session, so the community tends to police it's self

But with skate, there needs to be a way of both policing it and having an opt out button

ps3 was still around but i think xbox was more popular

We actually announced on the Nov 15 the servers would shut down December 10th, but due to our Service Agreement requirements, we kept them open 5 extra days.
Per our Service Agreement requirements, we have to give a minimum of 30 days notice, which we did.

And the reason we shut down the servers, which always sucks on our end, is generally when the population using them falls so low that it's no longer possible to keep them up - and it usually happens to games that are significantly old, like Skate 2 at the time we shut down the servers. It's always a hard decision and we spend weeks/months discussing it before locking the decision.

To be honest, the shutdown of the servers was planned before we got the greenlight that it was going to be backwards compatible for Xbox. We had a lot of stuff in motion for that (gotta get legal approvals, etc. before we can initiate the shutdown).
