Illuvitars, The team and why Illuvitars is more than it seems.

I've been wanting to post something like this for some time. The ever increasing lack of support and questions regarding the teams knowledge or skill sets.

I want to mention in particular what a stroke of genius Illuvitars actually is IMO.

The team knew as the scope of the game grew it would need to be delayed further than originally planned this put forward issues regarding SILV2 and the quantity that will be available at this later launch date.

Launching without absorbing some of the additional supply would likely really hurt short term revenue streams, ultimately they needed something to soak up supply.

Enter Illuvitars, a fun collection game/project which is expanding that the community has embraced and enjoyed. Not only has this been a huge success in absorbing excess SILV2 but has also generated needed revenue and allowed the community to create the safety pool.

None of this would have been possible without the teams foresight into the potential issues around the corner and a solution that fixes the problems whilst also allowing them to do important tests needed that benefit the main game launch.

Whilst I think everyone's hearts are in the right place, I hope some reflection on the above should bring some more appreciation to the team. Without these important measures the outlook for revenues would have been at least in the short term hampered by all that extra supply, I am greatful as we look stronger for it.

Can we just remind ourselves how rare it is, to even have a gaming studio keep us so close to their building process. Sharing every bit of design, graphic, art, sound team; EVERYTHING. I think it goes a-miss sometimes just how lucky we are to be in the pocket of the creation of something this beautiful and intricate. Especially as the industry is so early on as well.

Everything this team brings out is fucking flawless from a design and art/sound perspective, and this IP has already taken ahold of my heart, before any of the games are fully released. I SUCK at autobattlers, and I never had any drive to start playing them...but my love for this IP and the whole team/community around it, has me loving every moment.

When I first joined the Illuvium Discord back in June 2019, it was not known (by most) that the mastermind behind all the cool graphics and endless stream of leaks was from Grant. But as he revealed his identity and continued to openly share his work and visions with everyone following the project, we all got to know him a little better. I have certainly seen thousands of rocks, fantastic creatures, jaw dropping graphics and animations, and some of them being created on live streams, while explaining in high details how the process was for creating them. This has been a unique experience, and I have the deepest respect for the level of skill and professional work that Grant has done for Illuvium. I know he has not done it all by himself, there is still an amazing art team behind all of it, but he has been the inspiration and original face to the community from the beginning. This is also why many people are very sad to see him leave.

Lastly, I think many, like myself, have appreciated Grant's personality… always being brutally honest, and striving for perfection to a level that most people couldn't even imagine. combined with high level of integrity and genuine passion has made him a well respected and liked key figure in the original team.

So from myself, there is only gratitude for have being lucky enough to have been on the journey and I wish Grant all the best with his new adventure, I am also sure there is a very good reason why this choice was made, and can only say… rock on, and keep on not accepting any dog shit

A rough day for those of us who have followed this project from near inception. From those of us who pondered who 'Von leakman' could be?
And those of us who grew to love and be grateful for all the hard work and dedication Grant had shown the project.

For me, personally, a huge part of why I delve deeper into this project, was because of the passion ,love, and heart that I saw ooze from @ebon walrus into this project. Watching him talk on interviews and showcases, it was clear as day to see he was infatuated and adored the work he was doing. Passion is easy to spot in the eyes of those who care for their work.

I have been following this project, and invested with you all, since early 2021. And I have to admit that I grew to love and respect Grants corner of this project. He kept me believing in the future of the project, even as doubts grew; he would dispel the worry as I watched him talk so passionately about the work the art team etc, was doing. I had faith in his abilities and long term vision. I did not waver at the thought of short term turbulence. I had faith in the team, entirely; I still do.

Have you ever considered making a competitive downhill racer like Riders Republic, 64 players racing down a course but in Illuvium style of course.

I agree, sneak peak video was exciting to watch. Maybe a month plus of leaks all at once was pretty hype. The standards and polish on the game are really high and that's going to lead to some very good games. I've worked on big projects before where it feels like the work never ends, and then one day you look around and sort of realize "Hey, we're almost ready". But things aren't ever fully complete, there is always another bug or feature or new idea to implement. So making that decision of when to flip the switch and release can be a really scary, exciting time, because you never really feel "ready" for it. But I imagine ya'll can sort of see the finish line from where you're at now.

I'm going to be honest, I came to this game just for the play to airdrop, but I'm falling in love with it and its potential, with this I don't want to seem like I'm "sucking up" to the team, I just want to give my honest opinion.

The graphics are incredible, the teleports are immediate, the armor upgrades and your illuvitars constantly make you be playing 24/7 and you can't stop thinking about it.

The variety of maps add an additional value.

The different types of gameplay make the game not repetitive and you can change the game according to the moment you are in.

The changes made to overworld resource gathering is incredible team. Being able to shoot across the map to mine resources and plants and how that meshes with the nethersight is such an enjoyable experience. Hunting the Illuvials gives you that adrenaline rush and even when i tell myself i'll go on a farming resource run, there's always the urge to chase illuvials to see what you might find in the autobattler and to level up your team. Very impressed so far

At the Phantom Guild Illuvial Bounty Hunt today I was thinking about how many times over the last few years we have talked about playing Illuvium in Discord together. Seeing old names and new all hunting Illuvials was really incredible. I started talking with someone and looked up the number of hours I have played. I was shocked to see it was over 100. It doesn't feel like that many because I am still excited about it. It's beautiful and fun. Illuvium team, you guys have done such a fantastic job on the game. I tested OB4 yesterday from the PB3, the changes are so great, didn't expect all of them. Sure, things can be polished, but the overall sensations were great. The music when you are in combat, or hunting, is so great... That hypes you. I did really like the guided tutorial.

Hi team, I am currently playing some Overworld to experience it and to gather some points. It gets me more and more hooked. Hey guys i've been playing Arena lately and find it so addictive and gorgeous to watch. I think you we are a couple of bug fixes and gauntlet mode from an absolutely awesome game. As you know i usually complain a lot (mostly about zero) so here's something nice for the change 😅

We are so close to launch, and I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on these past 3 years I’ve spent here.

Illuvium, and most importantly the team behind it, was the first real project I felt comfortable diving fully into in the crypto space. The first project that didn’t feel like I had something to be hesitant about; the first set of founders and developers who day by day instilled confidence in my speculations and questions. Watching the AMA’s with Kieran, Grant and Aaron over the years, seeing the showcase episodes that would just shock me beyond measure over and over again, and to see the team so eloquently handle bugs and issues (which is INCOMPARABLE to any other crypto game) never left me feeling nervous or doubtful.
Even after the bear market shredded my investments 90+%, I could still see the game that I craved to see built, and then some, being built right in front of my eyes. I started to lose interest in the investment part to some degree, and cared more about being on the journey with illuvium labs.

I shan’t ramble too much, I am sure a lot of you have heard me talk fondly of your skills, passion and character as individuals before now, so I will simply echo a thank you, and hope you know how incredibly proud we are off all of you. From marketing, design, art, sound, community drivers and influencer communications. EVERYTHING. ALL OF YOU. You are loved, and we are proud.

Hey great game everyone! Very well polished, and most importantly its really fun! I love running around in the 2 current worlds, movement mechanics are super fun, resource collecting and illuvial hunting is addicting. I'm on my third day, catching the illuvials feels like a unique experience almost like bringing pokemon into real life knowing theres a finite amount and with the graphics and animations it feels great owning them. Apologies for the random ping, but I just wanted to extend my gratitude to you guys for so much. But mainly, for giving me something to fall in love with, in a way I haven't felt since my childhood. For giving me an opportunity to now be a PART of it in some small way; even if that is just help others understand the project, answer silly questions that most of us have seen a thousand times or more, but also an opportunity to pour more of myself into this project by investing more and more as time goes on.

I was encapsulated by the idea of this game/studio from the very start, over 3 years ago. I watched the discord like a hawk, I followed every single showcase with Grant, I ADORED the dev blogs that gave us snippets into what was being built and the plans for going forward, and in my head I cultivated a universe that made me feel at home, and excited to latch on.

Like all things beautiful, Illuvium has had it's breathtaking, mindblowing moments that have wow'd me beyond imagination. The graphics, the audio, the suspense on what the storyline could hold - and it's had it's bumps and struggles... but again, like all things beautiful, it's what makes it feel real. It's what makes you fall deeper into wanting that horse to win (at least for me, can't say the same for some naysayers who love punishment and negativity)

And that brings me on to the last point I want to make. I know some people love to criticise. They seem to live for that very reason in here... But I just want you guys to know, there are people who have fallen in love with what you've created; that outside of money(yes I invested at $1500 too ), outside of investment opportunity and financial gain from revdis, would back you too the ends of the earth, and believe in your character; your determination and your drive. I believe in the Warwick brothers, as well as the incredible team beside you guys.

TLDR - Thank you; I am all in for the future of Illuvium

For me Illuvium started as just another investment. My husband and I agreed that we wanted to do an investment in Web3 gaming. I liked the marketing chances of Illuvium and he liked the economy side. We bought and then I found out I could stake the ILV so 3 years ago today I wandered into Illuvium Discord to find out how to do it. I didn't expect to stick around. I don't get personally attached to investments and as a woman who is um....not so young any more, I sure didn't expect to want to hang out with a bunch of guys in a Discord channel. Now, granted one reason I stayed was because Fraggy was another woman 🤣 I could chat with, but you guys all made me feel very welcome and I found myself looking forward to coming on here and soon it was something I did every day.

Soon I got interested in watching how Illuvium was being built, it has fascinated me watching it reach what it is today and I am so thankful to the team for sharing so much. I got involved in the fun things on Discord, both community and team became people I started to "know" and care about. When I first started coming here my Mom was sick and I was taking care of her. Illuvium and Discord was a break for my brain, away from work, away from everything I was dealing with. I remember sitting in the hospital one day at the side of her bed, she had just been wheeled away so they could see how bad her cancer was. The nurse told me she would be an hour or so. She wanted me to find something to keep my mind off of it. The timing of Illuvium Showcase that day was perfect. For an hour I could watch the progress of the game I had already fallen in love with, along with people who felt the same. For an hour I could be in another world where there was no cancer killing my Mom.

Thank you Rich for your commitment as communtiy manager. No one could love the community more and I am pretty sure you are the most patient man on earth. Thank you mods for helping all of us and keeping us in line. Best mods ever. Thank you to the founders and team for sharing all your progress with us and letting us be part of the building of Illuvium, it has been really an amazing thing to be part of. Thank you community for all the fun times and friendships. Too many of you to name who have come to mean a lot to me.

Ten years from now I am planning on still being on here and sharing "remember when" stories about the first games in Illuvium. There's some negativity floating around but I believe in Illuvium. My theory is to invest in people. You want those who never give up, who have a passion to make their talent become reality. The founders and team have that drive. We are going to make it. There may be bumps in the road but I believe you guys will do this.
