I'm with you on this. I like collecting sets like that. The album should allow the spawning of a fresh set of sleeves if two or more cards are added of the same background. This way people can still stack points for collecting the Illuvitars in various backgrounds and colours they like best.

How do you know how much can you list an illuvitar?

you can get a rough estimation by looking at your collection on Illuvialmaster. But you would usually look at previous sales and current market prices.
Understand that Illuvialmaster gives you an estimation based on some calculations that depend heavily on a consistent volume. Currently that volume is not really here so the prices have been dropping significantly in their model

it's like: "You have a really rare asset, but nobody has been buying anything like it... Before, the value was 1 eth, but since nobody seems to want it, let's drop it by 40% and you may be able to sell it."
in other words: it gives an estimation of the current market value rather than a consistent one based on rarity or inherent value it may have.

The market is very illiquid now...Illluvialmaster gives you a sense of all that are listed, but if you really want to sell, floor probably ain't gonna getter done. You'd have to go down more to make it a bargain, or have something very rare (and you can check how rare on 'master also). And your Illuvial account will show you when you sell something automatically and on IMX you can check if you have any offers, but understand they will probably be very low if you do 😉

You are quite correct. First Editions should contain more fidelity than reproductions - not less... The Alpha stamp is the same as the Louvre Museum painting a big "A" over the Mona Lisa obscuring the underlying art, whilst selling postcards & posters in any news agency showing the original as intended. LOL. I understand why the community wanted something to differentiate such an expensive purchase but I personally think we got it backwards. Alphas should have simply triggered Album Easter Eggs enabling bread crumbs regarding lore. Reward Art collectors with "Art", as the regular cards are reward consumers with "lower cost completion & points".

Physical first edition hard cover books for example are coming back in vogue since the monopoly of publishers & media companies all want James Bond re-imagined as Jane Bond and to no longer include "21st century sensitivities and things that may offend"... Alphas are still much rarer and all things being equal, more desirable by the majority of people.

The reason for the premium price was to force scarcity by pricing people out.
One of the main concerns with an equal pricing model, was that everyone would just yolo into alphas and not purchase the unlimited variants.

If there was maybe an "Illustrator" box that detailed the lead designer of the illvitar.
If they are a collaborative effort then something akin to movie credits where each individual is credited with their respective role.

Like Garf pointed out there may only be 4 artists currently producing the entire collection but it would still be good to see who and what level of involvement each of them had on each particular one, and as more artists will likely be added to the team in the future, it will be good to see specifically which illuvitars they played a key role in designing.

Just an idea, I know that time is very precious right now. It's more something to think about for the future that I personally would like to see and thought that others may too.

When looking at an Archie in your collection for example, you would still have no idea who designed it.
If someone else designed the background then that individual should be credited with the background design. Likewise if it happens to be bonded, the designers that created the bonded items should be credited and listed appropriately within the same accreditation box.

Probably no change till macro improves (including overall liquidity), and crypto does better (with some legislative clarity?) and finally ILV gets their games out.

We're extremely close on this, we've setup a public S3 bucket to serve INT, UAT, PROD images for L2 Promotional Collections, in this specific instance the 'Partnerships Collection' which includes the GameStop NFT.

We're deploying a Public Asset Upload Process to the higher level environments... as soon as it's available on Prod we can upload the high-res images for the GameStop NFT.

Once that is finalized, I can complete a CSV which will allow us to airdrop the Non-Holo & Holo NFTs, Deploy the Layer 2 Minter, Promotional Collections, Badges Collection, Emotes Collections to L2 and distribute the NFTs.

This is one of four deployments we're pushing to finalize this week or early next week, we also have a fix for the Beyond Album Sleeving (allowing us to re-enable Leaderboard Rewards), we had some minor fixes to the Illuvium Merchandise Store that went live last night, and a Promotional Discord Bot that will enable us to run Promo's now and in the future with our bigger partners.

Critical issues are certainly a high priority, any instance whereby Production is severely impacted is a cause for concern.

We have a fix for the issue that has meant a pause to the Leaderboard Rewards and should have this deployed shortly.

There are two parts to this, 1. Resolving the Bug 2. Writing a script that validates User Collections and ensures that assets sleeved by the user are owned by the user.

I'll check in with the guys, as of yesterday we were testing the validation script to ensure there weren't any edge-cases.

I think many people will buy standard disks in wave 2 in order to get as many wave 3 mega disks free as possible. This will result in a large number of illuvitars for both wave 2 and wave 3. In the long term, the total number of wave 1 illuvitars will be much lower than the total number of illuvitars from any other wave. This will have a positive effect on the price of wave 1 illuvitars including alphas and alpha wave 2 illuvitars, especially given the very small supply of wave 2 alphas available...

Update on the Beyond Leaderboard Issue (Sold or Transferred Illuvitars occasionally not removed from the original owners Album sleeves).

• Issues have been resolved.
• We've developed a script to validate user collections are accurate.

I think it makes sense for us to validate users in the top 100 are accurate and than go with double rewards for the next few weeks to make up the difference

In some cases when a user sold or transferred an actively sleeved Illuvitar, the asset would be transferred but an image of the Illuvitar would remain sleeved, thus Album points would remain.

An idea: have rewards on a weakly basis, 1 ILV for example, to anyone who holds the most powerful illuvitar. Would create somewhat more incentive for those high tier accessories and more powerful illuvitars.

Before buying (and potentially wasting your money) on T5 S3 accessories everyone can easily calculate IF their Illuvitar would be the highest and because in the far majority of cases, it would not, the opposite effect would occur... Right now the value of higher tier accessories is not efficiency that's for sure. It is in situations where competing albums can only differentiate by density of points per available slots. This occurs at the end of Wave 6 when competition to remain a Top 100 album begin to suffer compression (difference between tightly packed albums become negligibly and few slots remain) force fringe holders to discard pre-bonded cards and repurchase new base cards to fit out a slot with the maximum multiplier. Until then; T5S3 is largely vanity art which is not a need but a want...

Thanks for the update Nick and I like this make up strategy! It feels like we are valued for sticking with this product and supporting the ecosystem. Honestly, of all the products currently (somewhat 😉 available, this is my favorite.

and I assume a big change in how the disk works will occur....it's the same with the waves: I don't mind paying more if the output is higher, or pay less, like wave 2 and you need a lot to hit the homeruns (with the buying incentives on top of it). But GS was like the worst of both lol Though I like the art on the GS Illuvitars...I would also make them worth more points.

If I was responsible for marketing at GameStop or Micro Center I would be wanting to (1) Demonstrate to our customer base our relevance in new exciting frontiers such as Web 3 (2) Provide a worthwhile call to action for the audience sleeping in our email Dbase to interact with us, (3) Find a way to grow that base by accessing qualified users via non conflicting partnerships. I would NOT be wanting to make a few bucks selling NFT's if it was not core to our business (Just like McDonalds don't sell toys they "gift" them to nugget munchers). For this reason GameStop should have emailed a redemption code for an Illuvium starter pack containing a rego process & 3 x custom Mega Discs and 5 x Standard discs free of charge (but with an implied value). These starter packs would offer regular discs but carrying some customised graphics with rarety and I would have extended the redemption code to all holders of Illuvium as an intro to GameStop... The nominal cost of such a purely digital give away would have been shared and would serve to seed tens of thousands of starter albums thus creating a starting point for new collectors and leverage goodwill generated through airdrops (such as done by UniSwap). Why are we selling these promo packs?

interesting concept...like the discussion. We also have to find a way to keep them in the system....otherwise it is of limited value, and the real cost is in developer time costs that could be working on a beyond game (some day) or pvp, etc.

Absolutely. That's why the starter pack has to be enough to be quite worthwhile but the album has plenty of slots to fill and keep them in. Too much value for them to discard, but not enough to sit on.

I agree the cost is dev time, but it is still far more cost effective to make & print digital items than to spend real dollars. The things that need to be invested in is Digital Magic inside the album. Collect a set and get a map, or clue to game lore. Place easter eggs in the album that only activate with cirtain card backgrounds present... Create magic, and mystery to discover.

think it could also be good to make the rewards %based, so every spot on the ladder would matter, etc nr.76 would get a little less then nr.75, insted of these hard breakpoints at 50.
