Exactly. I heard some saying that the Alpha sale was impacted by the delay. I think it's rather the fact that newcomers saw disks trading lower than floor without necessarily fully knowing about the silv2 arb. Like you said, it does undercut revdis for treasury and stakers. But hopefully it gets scarcer 🙂

Just my view, but I think it'll be a bit cyclical.
When everybody mints, prices will go down after a while > less minting / less new supply > prices go back up for the rare ones > more minting etc etc until wave 2 is here and then the supply will be finally known and locked

Both backgrounds are Tier 4 Stage 1, so rarity is equivalent... except first one is an Alpha, so over time the expectation is it would be much rarer (how much so depeneds on the number of disks sold over next 3 months)

1. (Convenience) You can't autofill the best illuvitars once set

Of course it would be better to use 2000+ base power Illuvitars but I don't have those lying around 😄 Then at a later date I'll bond my better Lynxes with something cooler.

Ow. That is new for me. I though tier 0 was some kind of free tier, non NFT version, of an illuvial, which is weaker in the game compared to the NFT versions (which holds the original tier). So basically that old concept of non NFT illuvial is dead, right?

The Tier 0 Illuvials (not Illuvitars) are free tier, they are just their own creatures, not free versions of other Illuvials
(free tier basically means you can acquire them in Overworld in an area which you did not pay to travel to)

In the image you see that doka, grokko, fliish, atippo and volante are Tier 0. In the middle at the top of each image you see 0 to 5 blocks that represent their tier.

Tier 0s are different from other illuvials because they purely grow larger and dont transform when they fuse (pokemon term: evolve). It makes the premium, paid to obtain assets (Tier 1-5) a bit more interesting 🙂

All illuvials, including T0s will be NFTs.

the Alphas are limited, by count and time (3 days), the extended run is only limited by time (90 days)... by the end of the sale there will likely be many many more standards than Alphas... you can already see this reflected in relative value

there is also a draft IIP to add an Alpha logo or effect the Illuvitars which I expect will pass

we can't predict for certain the relative value, but history tells us that collectors like first editions and rare things, and thus value them more highly

Think hard before you bond anything. No real collector will buy anything with bonded accessories in the future, so if you want to resell later, probably shouldn't bond. Bonding increases the power but decreases the market value.

Yes it is, and I think something will need to be done about this. Because in the current state, you have to choose between being a collector or competing in the leaderboard. If you choose not to ruin your pieces of art, you are missing out on the fun of competing. I hope the team will find a solution for this eventually, either by adding invisible accessories or separate leaderboards for "pristine" collections, or some other mechanics.

Being able to bond a new accessory on top of the already bonded one may solve the issue. This also will fix the problem of reducing the market value of bonded illuvitars. Let's see what the team think about it. If the team wants to to keep the concept of "think before bonding", they can think a way to put a lifetime in the immutability property of the illuvitar. What I mean is, if an illuvitar was bonded with an eyewear accessory The owner of that illuvitar must wait, let's say 6 months, before being able to bond a new eyewear to that illuvitar again

there are 16 holo Squizz like yours, but yours is one of the worst 6 of them.
It is more powerful than any of the other Squizz of that expression non-holo so far. Maybe if someone finds a T5 stage 2 one that it would be more powerful than yours. But it's pretty good for sure. But if it's the best Terralynx, and nobody else has it, you may be able to add those Tier 5 Stage 3 accessories and make a killing when selling it to a whale orso.

I dont know. To me this is a design problem. The game is built around accessories that you put on your cards like ugly stickers on beautiful classic pokemon cards. I love how backgrounds and expressions differentiate the cards but the accessories are bad.

I love Illuvium Beyond but hate this system at the same time. And I haven't seen a single person say they love the look of accessories. There are some single combinations that look alright, like Fraggy's Squizz. But most of the bonding for the points destroys the art.

I believe the accessories should work only as a cosmetic item that allows you to create a unique pfp. But the album and the collecting aspect should ignore the accessories. I would also remove the accessories from the future sales, instead add more backgrounds and maybe other effects that further differentiate the cards but are permanent.

I'm with you on this, I haven't bonded a single illuvitar nor will I. Maybe one for a profile pic at some point. But none in my albums. The founders talked a lot about how Pokemon inspired them, and they would want to bring back that same collectible feeling with the album collection. Well, the team succeeded, I was never very interested in illuvitars, thought I would buy one, and that's it. Now here I am with over 100 discs opened, and the marketplace opened in a tab all day. @pastel bison @timber apex if you guys still have Pokemon cards, please grab a permanent marker and draw a clown nose on one of the cards. And if you would be hesitant to do it, that's exactly what the issue is with illuvitars at the moment. I think it's a fundamental flaw, and after reading the chat during the last few days, many people feel the same. Don't force us to ruin the stunning artwork to have a chance at competing on the leaderboards. Please add invisible accessories to the next wave (they could replace some of the current ones, as they are already worthless and just clogging up our rosters) or come up with a different solution, thanks for reading.

Every accessory has to fit on every illuvitar. So even if red clown noses are no longer for sale, we'd still have to make sure there was a red clown nose for every new illuvitar. Likewise, we'd have to make sure there was the new colour option for every previous illuvitar. Any change to accessories is a lot of work, there isn't really a way around it unfortunately! Not that that means we won't do it, just that it's not as simple/easy as it sounds. When there's 6 waves of these things having to do 6 different colour ways for every accessory would add months to the process on top of actually painting the illuvitars themselves, so would delay things a lot!
Obviously though if that's what people want then get an iip going and we'll make it happen! Just gotta consider the time

Also, if accessories is staying permanent, I am heavily incentivized as a trader to NOT bond as they will become more valuable as time goes on as Set 1 unbonded Illuvitars become more scarce.

Im just spitballing mechanics for the fun of it. Imagine a mechanic like this:
Atlas is a 1/1 Illuvial and for every clown nose stage he wears, he gets +1 or -1 attack or defense.

He could become a 4/1 or a 0/1 with 0 attack 1 HP.

Then Mozart antennae do like: Add a mozart 1/1 , 1/2 or 2/2 on the field upon being played.

We’d like the opportunity to also let ilv community to showcase their illuvitars so other Web3 communities can see the art.

Originally, the T0s were going to be randomly scattered amongst the waves just like the other illuvitars, so they were made and treated as individual illuvitars and given random expressions as the artists saw fit. We made a few like that. Then it was decided we would release all the T0's together, so we made all the rest at the same time. To speed this process up, we limited the number of poses each line would have, and generally kept the same expressions for each different pose. There was a little straying from this, but generally speaking there are 2 poses for Grokko, Attipo, Volante etc. And 2 expressions for each of those 2 poses. Sometimes the expressions are the same between the 2 poses, but there was no rule.
On some of them we went with a different expression because it fit better with the element attached to it. For example Air Doka has glowing eyes because I thought it fit better with the 'air' than the other expression used for this pose.
They were also all named after they were done. Illuvitars changed a lot along the way so there's bound to be some inconsistencies!
Does that clarify? Or did I misunderstand what you were asking?

From what I've seen, if the receiving wallet address has not been set up on IMX yet, then you'll receive an error message when trying to transfer a NFT to it and no transfer will occur.

As it stands now, Wave 2 will have Alpha Mega D1sks and Alpha Standard D1sks. There will be Tier 0s in those Standard D1sks so they will also have the Alpha stamp as well.

Main differentiating factor, as Artemis said, is that they are Wave 2 Alpha Tier 0s instead of Wave 0 Alpha Tier 0s.

It doesnt remove your added illuvitars from the collection after you change a new one.

It just says: you got one that fits in one of the slots! +1

Then you put another in that same slot and it says the same: You got another 1 that fits in a slot! +1

But the UI in the album just counts how many it says in the collection it has and if it is 3 it says: Nice you collected 3.

So they should add a negative counter when you remove an Illuvitar and it will be fixed.
