The biggest issue with the game for me is balance. Moving from 2 to 3 augments made balance even worse, so that 1 unit can easily outdamage an entire team and I just think it's destroying any chance the game has at establishing some type of parity amongst the best and worst players.

It definitely exacerbates positioning which tends to be the 1 key differentiator between a top 1% player and top 10% player.

Since you can eliminate the enemy carry if you are really knowledgeable in that area.

I dont think 3 augments is bad, but I still maintain positioning is too deep in terms of gameplay and should be lightened

Positioning is the easiest tbh. Timing on refresh, choosing uncontested illuvials is the hard part specially if you don't know how to play certain lineups.

Yeah uncontested etc all requires the most game knowledge, but it doesn't affect top 4 nearly as much as positioning does. I am trying to speak from Beginner POV.

Uncontested etc all determines top 2, where positioning can become a little less relevant.

But in the first half of the match, the positioning differential is massive.

For Major Tournaments, we prioritize high-rated players in their respective categories when filling spots from the waiting list.

However, we've also received some feedback and will likely make some changes to the sign-up process going forward.

First, there will be a delay between the announcement and the sign-up opening, so everyone has a fair chance to get in.

For Illuvials on the bench, do you prefer them...?

1 . Facing the board.
2. Facing you, the player.

why are there 4 weapons for earth and only 2 weapons for air? also why are there 4 weapons for psions and only 2 for empaths?
wouldn't it be better to balance the number of weapons for different classes and affinities for the sake of diversity? now the whole ladder is playing on earths

nature need 9 for full treshhold, but even at 9 dmg so small.
air got nerfed, and now with components to easy find true-sign, and with it it's easy kill air
fire - most units to squishy, and die fast, and buff from synergy 8 not so good
water - decent, but when you play water not need made synergy of 8 - coz it's also not so strong.

and earth with pasive dmg-back win even counter pick water/air.
as well earth-mystic - strongest combo with dmg reduce/dmg-back.
bulwark shield broken: at early game can do 3000-5000 dmg. at late game: 10000-30000 dmg, depend of synergy you build/drone augs.

so - yes, earth is simple to play and it's strongest choice. when you see 3/4 weapons earth you not think to long, have pick them or not

This last game i had 3 colossus 4 granite and a pinguin s3 with the right augments just slice my front line like paper.
The game should reward more the class/afinity combos and way less augments, cuz thats just luck to get.
I dont like augments at all, but if they are continuing to be part of the game, make them less powerfull and dont allow to stack 3 per illuvial.
At this moment, augments > combos and that makes no sense

Invoker/aegis/mystics/colossus/granite are all indirect nerfs to earth builds + the shield got tunned down

basic synergy of earth was not touched. still put goliant with 2-3 mitigation items = dead for opponent units.
and this synergy still x2 stronger, even after this fire "buff"

Buffing fire does nothing to earth. Need to buff water and/or air to impact earth. Also, the mitigation issue, imo has more to do with low threshholds of damage on so many other things like Magma, 7earth, 6 air, thorns, reflecting damage, etc. - all units that deal low end damage etc. The mitigation often affects 100% of these damage sources making it incredibly strong against certain damage sources and all but useless against others - like Ophisto omega - anything that takes huge chunks. To balance this I would either cap it at 50% max effectiveness or make the minimum damage calculation more complex to reflect same result.

Let's say that I have a Rota and an Ebb on the bench
Rota is on the 1st spot
Ebb on the 2nd spot
If I pick Ebb and put it on the 1st spot where Rota was then they exchange their positions and usually it's snappy but sometimes there's the animation of the illuvials appearing bit by bit as if I just bought the 2 of them from the shop instead of an instant swap

Guys, how do you usually play? Do you decide on the combo you’re going to go for right from the start and stick to it? Or are you constantly rethinking your strategy based on the Illuvials that are showing up more often? Do you look at the augments you get to match a certain combo? Or does it mostly depend on the weapon your player receives?

I always try to go for the same combo every match, and I’m starting to think it’s hurting me, because sometimes it’s just not possible — and sometimes I’m the first one eliminated because of it haha.

For me personally, I have about 3 "preferred builds" that I know I can play somewhat effectively. IMO the weapon selection is the critical early game decision, and the reroll on that really eases the stress of having to cobble together an unfamiliar build. It sounds to me like you are at the stage where you need to add a second line that you are familiar with and can play well. Sound about right? Go for it then. Pick something fun to play and soon you'll have two, three, four etc. fun things you've mastered.

To answer your question, the top players are mostly playing according to the game. They can't pick out a build beforehand and then play only that - they'd get pretty lousy results. So - mostly they see what everyone is building and what's been available to them and cross multiply that with what the current strongest builds are, all divided by the map they're on and probably some astrology as well.

And, it's all funneled down quite small once you pick a weapon.

Now you’re just trying to defend yourself and act like a good person in case I call you out. But you are taking it too far by pretending to be the good guy when you have exploited the system to gain points, and this is not the first time you have done something like this without admitting it.

When I asked you in DMs to stop using it, you initially defended yourself and pretended not to know what I was talking about. Then, after a few messages blaming the game for the bug being there, now you’re saying you do know about it and have even reported it before?

I’m not sure how much you’ve abused this, as I have no way of knowing. But there are timestamps on bug reports and other data, so it will become clear how often you’ve used the exploit. Hopefully, they can also check how many times you’ve disconnected and reconnected in past games. I don’t know exactly how this system works since it’s not my area of expertise, but there are probably people much better than me at this kind of stuff.

I loved the deck building process and strategising my plan during that similar how i would build my TCG deck in real life. I really loved the 1v1 mode and hope it will come back after gauntlet

I think the thing that killed it was that it became mostly just meta team mirror matches, which got kinda boring for many. Teams would have to be really well balanced for there to not be one or two meta teams come to the top each patch.

By the way, I've played with you in tournaments a few times, but I've never seen you reconnect. Doesn't the fps drop during tournaments?

In any case, if you need to reconnect, you should do so. If it's deemed cheating, you should explain it to the development team.

There are cases where reconnecting is necessary due to a crash, so I think it's just a matter of not making illegal rerolls at your own discretion. I don't think there's any need to finely distinguish between what is a bug and what is an exploit.

The bug is your shop gets rerolled „for free“ when you reconnect to a game. So you can save bunch of gold if you do it multiple times

If you know what’s causing the issues for frame drops (watching other boards) you should just not use it as most of the people do. You’re deliberately creating the issue so you can reconnect „freely“ and use that as excuse

i count units, think what my opponents play, to contest them. i watch can i try collect unit in stage-3 or not. if opponent play same unit, i have to know how much he already have, to made decision roll for all money or not. it's part of game, and you say - don't use it.
if i don't use it, i'l be in worst position.
so - you give same solution, as i give: "don't play game, don't get this problem"

I had frame drops with my old PC too. Havent had any frame drops since upgrading my hardware. I am also watching other boards but mainly only 2 or 3 times if there are last 4 people or so

I hope you understand that not all people who reconnect to the game use bugs, my game regularly crashes, and even if it does not crash, over time my fps drops very strongly and freezes occur. I need to re-enter the game at least once per game

to be honest, I also thought that they were talking nonsense when they wrote about the penguin and the augs, calling it bug using, but apparently the game is really broken, with certain items the unit becomes too strong, it stops matching the description and gets too many stats, this is not a balance problem, it is a bug

Is there any information anywhere about when the next reset will be? Will it happen with the release of the patch?

There's no excuse for anyone abusing this bug. I personally have to reconnect once per game just to fix the carousel bug because I scout my opponents too much. But you can choose to reconnect at the end of the round before seeing your shop, that way, even if it refreshes, you don’t gain any advantage since you never saw the previous one. So yeah... it's really more of a moral thing. People are only abusing it because they want to.

Yeah, I wouldn't have thought there's time after closing the game - it takes a while to restart. I've done it once or twice when the box gets stuck on the bench and I can't use the spot (not sure if anyone else has had that?)
