I agree on BigTime (seems not bad but underwhelming a bit, plus they ticked off their player base already). I don’t know Sipher but will look at it.

Prices of lands are not fixed in ILV or USD, they are priced in ETH with a Dutch Auction format. They start at a set value and decrease over time. The currency to purchase land is ETH.

You can also use sILV2 as a ETH giftcard where 1 sILV2 is equal in spending power to 1 ILV's current value. To figure out how much sILV2 you need you would look at the ETH/ILV ratio, but most people find it easier to compare the values in USD. So take land cost in ETH times ETH value, divide by ILV value.

If a land is 2 ETH, and say ETH is 3000 while ILV is 500, then you would need 12 sILV2 to buy the land. These values will change constantly, and the price will drop every couple minutes, making it complicated to say exactly how much you will need to buy any given land.

The more ILV price goes up the more your sILV2 can buy, but that's true for everyone else as well so prices people purchase at would inflate.

That is a good point.
But
If they take the order book approach by matching prices to lands at the given time.
Giving it to those with the highest price first and then to those that wad longest in the order book then instant indication if you got the land or not can be taken.

Something simular to staking.

Then you claim your land at a time of your choosing when the gas price is low.
Or if you were unlucky and got no land then you just claim you stake, again at a time of your chosing at a low gas price.

This will result in 2 gas fee actions, but only 2 and np gas war.

Unless you continually change your price, but unless you increase your price then do not need to add tp your stake so no extra gas, but increasing will incur gas.

Emulation can be done if it is windows only, but that does incur a processing penalty.
Then also it also depends and the code if it uses windows exclusive functions, even in the browser.
Good thing is that unreal engine works wonderful on linux, but that is only part of the game.

I realize there that there was a snapshot and a lot of the generated coins were removed, but how many were not catched and were converted to silv2 that might dilute the auction.

Were they able to trace the invalid coins back to see which is valid or not or did they just go on seeing the large volume and snapshot right before, even though the hacker most likely started smaller and over some time ?

Problem is there seem to be no way to wash them out from the clean silv2 coins.

With what happened I just love the way the team handled it.
To me a project's downfall is not hacks and problems, but openness with their community and how they recover after it and Illuvium did a wonderful job this far and should be held up as a shining example for others to follow.

I have not looked at the SILV code that allowed the free minting, but in theory it does stand to reason that a bad actor will not mint so much right from the start, but start off slow.
The snapshot was take when the BIG steal took place.
So that was saved.

But it is in the past.
And the team handled it wonderful.
I do believe they sweated bullets when they caught it.
As a programmer myself I hate that feeling when you discover a bug in production code.

Basically price starts high and goes down. Either someone will buy it when it's more expensive than I am willing to pay. Or the price will be at less than 1/4 of the starting price for an entire hour. Less than 1/10 of the starting price for a little under 30minutes. If the MARKET decides it's worth more than I'm able to afford then that's sad for me. But, it simply is what it is. Someone else was willing and able to pay more than I was. I don't get special treatment because I'm early or because I can bribe an ETH validator. There shouldn't be very many secondary market sales right away. Because ILLUVIUM and ILV stakers will have gotten the actual value people are willing to pay for the product being offered.

Rather focus on fun as it does look like a lot of fun.
If you do want to become competitive then the scholarship route is the way to go without spending anything.

When will the revdis start ?
As sales are made or only some time after the land sale?

I want to know if I must claim my rewards now to get the macimum revdis or wait a bit more before claiming to save on gas cost for claiming multiple times, instead of one big time.

Also.
If only after the land sale then I can hold on to my rewards in case I do decide to buy some land and then rather claim SILV.

I'm also rather new to this, but basically you only play on someone else's account, without having their wallet connected.
So the owner must load gas and whatever you need to be competitive for you, but then you can play the game for free using the owner's illuvials.
Whales might have to many illuvials or lands to control on their own so they need scholars to do the grunt work for them to hunt illuvials or mine minirals.
Then at the end of the month they can share whatever profit you made for them with you.

Over time you can save up and buy your own with the money you make.

This is a slow process, but a good way to also learn the game and be ready for higher level gameplay.

Then again.
Maybe this can happen in game if illuvium build something into the game, but thus far with other games it happens outside the actual game.

As for having a free PvP like what they are doing with the current illuvium beta, but with actual people.
That will be awesome.

Not sure how they can justify it for then there is no use to catch illuviums if you get free illuvials in the game.

Maybe it can be done, but with some limitations.

Keep in mind that non crypto games like Marvel Contest of Champions have got a similar model where you can play for free, but to be competitive you have to spend a LOT of money or wait multiple years.
Marvel Contest of Champions is a bad example, but still.

I suspect they have thought of that and will have some way around it for esports.

A bit difficult for a pocamon game where the money is not in the game per say, but in the illuvials.

There must be a way, for it will draw in a lot of gamers, which is good for the life of the game.

Again coming back to Marvel contest of champions.
They have got the same problem.
If you want to be competitive then you have to buy the new shiny, and that blocks them also from having esports.
They have got some limited versions of esports, but just for influencers.

Maybe have esport levels based on the level of illuvial you have from level 0 to level 4.
Obviously level zero will npt have much in the way of prise money, but can be a way for guilds to recruite good players.

Other levels is where the big challenge comes in.

And in theory one illuvial is not better than another on the same level.
It all depends on your play stile.

Then more illuvials will come in time.

Also illuvials stats will be boosted or nerved if they are under or over powered to balance the game.

i saw so many videos about the game recently so i can't remember which one is where i heard what, but i saw one recently where they said there would be 2 parts of PvP. one where you can use your top tier/high end illuvials and one where you couldn't so it would be a more even playfield.

the balance between this and making it a p2e which attracts alot of people is so hard to nail, just thoughts from my part but i really hope they make it work somehow. balance the PvP/p2e collecting parts of the game
