It's been a while... not sure what has changed with the latest version but I'd love to continue working on it if I could justify – with the incentive to earn from trading land and playing the game like everyone else. But don't see much profitability unless 5% number changes so have checked out somewhat, current floor prices reflects this to some extent. Haha just not sure how to make the case for landowners nowadays

your database and simulator is awesome, im hopeing the game will be a good investment for land owners, its a good game, there has to be a focus on allot of things though , a good fun game , some profability for land owners and entry level balance, there are large investments of money into land and more planed for the future, so will be interesting how they keep the balance and interest over time .
When I would built two engineering workshops, does that allow for having two construction processes running simultaneously?
We've ran numbers here in the channel a few times now, and the expected returns for land is too low to even bother unless Illuvium goes to astronomical success like what happened with Axie Infinity and at that point why bother do all of this, just sit on ILV if you hope to earn. 5% divided by all 20k lands (accounting for tiers) + potentially more, and I can't see much for the average player. We agreed to the figures when we bought land but we have to also consider that it happened in very different market conditions. Sadly I don't see the DAO will ever push this figure higher to reward initial land buyers

Apy of land is just icing on the cake. Land price overall is doing top 95% vs all similar nft's.
All relative to total DAO earnings, if all tiers are equal each land (of 20k) will get 0.00025% but since we have tiers you might have to add a couple of zeroes depending on what you have

And in regards to the 5%. The IIP does not say 5% of the fuel production, it says 5% from the overall in-game purchases

And regardless of the IIP. It is crazy to think that the team would not aim that landowners get some decent APY

Percent owed to landholders should come from initial promises made at landsale, which was 5% and hasn't changed. Other factor here is individual land fuel production, which needs to stay consistent with initial land prices (what ppl paid to dao for land/support of project)
5% may not change, but if you own higher tier land you should be fighting to make sure your investment pays out a fair share relative to lower tier land.. team is aware of imbalance here but hasnt been changed yet

Why a converter builder, at the same level and same efficiency gives different rewards on different lands? It seems lands of higher tier has some kind of advantage here. It seems converters gives more rewards, at the same cost when played in higher tier lands. Is that true, or I am missing something?
PS: the same happens for other buildings, ex: storage buildings. Storage buildings at the same level and efficiency has more capacity in higher tier lands. Ex: a Silicon Matter, level 3, in a tier 2 land can store 33K while that same building can stores only 25K in tier 1 land.

Yes this is the tier production boost. This is part of why higher tier lands cost more. If their buildings didn't produce more then their higher cost to buy the land would not make sense at all.
T2 buildings produce 33.33% more than T1, T3 produces 100% more, T4 300% more
Think of it like this, T1 has 1 fuel site. T4 has 9x as many fuel sites, but the cost of a T4 land is something like 40x more. With a 300% production boost a T4's fuel extractors produce 36x as much as a T1.

@rustic silo its a bit hard to leak internal code changes in any meaningful kind of way, the only (major) visual changes to IZ planned for Open Beta are adding the animations and more particle effects
The UI's for some things will be redone, but a different menu for the marketplace doesn't make for exciting footage.

yeah the raw data is 2 and 2 vs 1 and 2
but 2.66 is rounded up to 3 and 1.33 is rounded down to 1

In beta the percentage chance will matter so if its 2.66 you will get two 33% of the time and three 66% of the time
so basically that upgrade is not increasing production over time its just 'ticking' more often (so you can collect quicker if you need it... i.e. if you were 1 short of something you could collect after 1 day instead of waiting for 2) and storing more
ye, but this is the only benefit, which is a minus compared with the rank 3, but maybe on ranks 5 6 7 it will be more smoother
but it feels a bit bad when I have to upgrade it. dunno' it was just a feedback, it will be great anyway

Adding a percentage (+/-) column that's sortable, and optionally a filter by resource, would be awesome. Kind of hard to gauge the market imbalances the way it appears now. But I love the concept, have been using it tons.
For listing as well, it's kind of blind listing, you don't know if you're over/under selling. My two tries at listing both expired without any takers.
the ideas with the statues was always to be primarily cosmetic... they attract Illuvials with the same primary affinity but in alpha with only 1 of each affinity ...

Does the IZ marketplace reflect true orders at the current time, or are they made up for testing purposes ? I ask b/c I figure if 1000+ players were playing, I would see tons more orders compared to the typical 15-20 orders that I see.

I got a tier 3 and 1 lands.
I understand why a tier 1 produce lower, but why does the storage also store like a lot less.

Why does a higher Tier plot store more than a lower Tier plot in the same storage structure?
Game Design
From a game balance perspective it makes it very hard to balance if the T4 produces 3x more but only stores the same as a T1: basically you would need to fill your land with storage on a T4 . Conversely if went the other way then T1 would only need 1 storage of each type, which would be worse.
Lore
The technology here is advanced. Don't think about physical storage, think more like something compressed in to some hyper dense state. The qualities of the land plot make greater compression possible for the same amount of containment equipment/energy.
In Open Beta
The basic ratios and this general principle will still apply. But we are definitely keeping a close eye on the balance for T1 players and we may tweak some values to make their journey to max a little easier.
Do remember one of the main reasons for the Alpha is to get both data and feedback on balance.

I’m just coming back after only playing for the first few weeks after the initial release. Seems like zero changes, including just the small quality of life improvements everyone that were unanimous. Is that accurate?
so I can tell they did a tons around performance improvement. I played it on my mac, and it was barely playable, would lag, machine would run hot after 5 mins of gameplay. Even with bare minimum apps it would lag so bad, so I played it on my gaming pc.

I haven't used market place at all and the game has felt reasonably playable even on unbalanced plots. (I have a T2 with 6x carbon, where the marketplace would be most useful)
The 3 Hyperion on my T2 is holding that plot back. Falling well behind my T3 now. Fuel imbalance is a real pain early game.
I've been micro managing 7 plots (T1 and T2). Not quite at the fuel stage yet, but yah makes sense. It'll be worse for fuels than the basic element ones.

Clash of clan has no movement penalty, I think optimization is half the fun, I’m not a fan of any sort of movement penalty

You get 2 fuel per extraction with 150% efficiency, I only used up one the second day, converted the other to 2 of a different type (plus 2 more extracted the 3rd day), then converted those back to 4 crypton (plus another 2 extracted the 4th day)
damnit, I'm only on 140% on fuel extraction, which will be rounded down, but I didn't want to add another power station and reset the mining
oh, no need to reset the mining, just add on another power station before you extract and it should still work fine

Also there should be another way to upgrade buildings or get fuel for tier 1 as this is extremely slow progress on tier 1. people build roads around them to prevent plants from growing in case their builder is occupied elsewhere and not available to clear plants when the scan is finished

it's easy, i knew from the last version how many hydrogen silos i needed for the scanner so i made it from the start, of course i prioritized production. Idunno how but it went smooth and didn't had time gaps, of course the coins helped me also.
I kinda went all in on passive fuel production, so I haven't really started making extra silos yet

Technically, no. But it's extremely helpful, in that it can store extra resources when you overflow your storage

Question: When a bulding that passively produces fuel has an efficiency of 90% and the duration says 1 day = 1 fuel, will it produce 1 fuel or NOTHING because its below 100% efficiency? Its so wierd with fuels because they cant be divided. also the duration times seem not to change by efficiency or paths here. Can someone clarify whats up with these fuels?
oh, and how much did you progress with it? in which stage you are?
In the current version, the passive timer can't be affected at all. And efficiency is rounded to the nearest whole number.
For example (on a T1): anything between 50% and 149% efficiency will give you 1 fuel, and 150% will give you 2 fuel

Yes. You can check the tier in the land icon (white squares in the left)
They work pretty similar, the main difference is you have no control over when trades you post yourself will be accepted, so sometimes you will have to wait for a long time for trades to happen.
There is a list of available trades you can accept whenever though. (Amounts on these trades are dependent on your Nexus level)
The main advantage is that anything you put on the market will leave your silos, so you'll technically have infinite storage for excess resources

Because fuel is so much harder to make early on. So I kinda focused on overproducing fuel rather than getting short on supply. (Still not sure if it was worth it)

It makes no sense to build and upgrade many fuel convertors same as Ressource converters, right? Because input and output is always the same, not like in the Ressource converters
There is a trick using efficiency. If you improve the efficiency of your fuel converter to 150% It will converts at 1:2 ratio (1 fuel for 2 new other fuels), because it rounds up the reward (1.5 -> 2)

Yes, Facts are just, as the name says, facts (just fun info about the Illuvial).
Having found Facts do increase the chances of finding a blueprint from the Illuvial.
Blueprints are what allows you to craft cosmetics in Overworld later on.
The Holographic building will help you find other Illuvials of the same affinity (once we get to beta and there's more than one of each). Like if you put your Atlas on display you'll be more likely to find other Water Illuvials from scans.
Bruh, my land reset again. I think I might be logged in at work, lol. It did give me a "multiple logins" error now.
Also had a bug where I logged into the F2P and when I went back to my main plot it had deleted everything I had done in the last hour. I didn’t log out completely just changing between lands

if i build fuel converters in one spot ex. 5 crypton collider in one spot with 50% efficiency will the passive generation be the same?
With 50% the passive will be 0.5 which rounds up to 1 (so yes, assuming you're on a T1 plot)
5 collider generates 10 crypton every 2 days in 50% = 5 crypton every 2 days?

They would generate 1 each (every 2 days) on any efficiency between 50% and 149%, or 2 each on 150%
(For T1 plots, stage 1 converter)

I feel like the button to accept a construction when a building is finished is so unnecessary.
Also, right now I am playing because I want to get blueprints. However, I don't see how free to play players, who have no real revenue for selling fuel will stay in the game after they realize is only leveling up.
I deduce the design team has in mind implementing any type of pvp in IZ aswell similar to clash of clans. Imo IZ currenly lacks an experience to retain players in the mid to long term.
Anyone knows if the dev team have plans for this and, if so, what type of experience are they thinking of?

Tbh I don't really care what region, once things are build you won't spend much time looking at it. Maybe just think about what blueprints you want to find once game is on chain

What I can say about the number of trades is, it seems that you can have a max of between 10-15 orders before the offer list stops showing new ones (haven't narrowed it down entierly yet)

Not so sure about that for resources, fuels on the other hand have such long passive timers on low levels so it doesn't really matter where they sit until it's time to collect (remember the efficiency needs to be high when the passive amount is to be added, not when you claim. Unlike the active conversion where it needs to be high when you claim.)
No, not with tokens. But you can shorten the time with about 27% with paths around the converter.
would be nice if the basic extractors just auto farmed like most mobile games. Having to click 3 times to collect, start, confirm feels clunky honestly.

I don't think the passive collection is working for me for my converters. They have been up for a few days, but still only one of 8 of them have collected anything. Is this a known bug? Anything I can do? Or am i misunderstanding something?

Fixes I’ve seen are to have a cool down for moving buildings or to have it affect the passive collection rate

the key is whatever fuel your plot has, keep mining for that and have 150% efficiency so you get 2 of that daily and then use those to convert to others when needed

Currently everything on lands gets wiped if you transfer them
after mint blueprints will be NFTs, not linked to lands, can be traded differently
@vivid cipher Hi, while you're here, I have an issue in v0.2.0 where the converters aren't generating the passive resources. They just stay at collect at "0". It has been like that since Thursday. Actually one (solon) did generate one solon, but the other 7 generators I have have not generated anything in the past few days. Any ideas what may be causing this? I did submit a bug report about it, but thought you might have seen this before or know what I could do.
You should check your efficiency. If efficiency is too low the passive conversions may round down to 0

Does anyone have breakpoints for fuel conversions? Like at what % does the conversion and/or passive increase output?
It's currently just rounding fractions after you apply the efficiency % to the production value (x.01-x.49 rounds down, while x.50-x.99 rounds up). At least for lower levels, I did notice some of the higher ones don't round properly in v0.1.6 (haven't gotten that high in v0.2.0 yet)

If you sell the plot it will be reset so you won't get any blueprints. In Open Beta the progress will stay if the plot is sold.

I think they are probably using this alpha season 1 data to see how long they will need to meet the demand they want.
it might be because the converter is taking a negative % due to being close to other things

base efficiency of 70% and up to +10% efficiency per power station (but only 7 can give the full 10% so you need one extra, otherwise 8 would be enough)
