Thats because star citizen is a grift relying on fooling investors into pouring more money in. ILV invests their time/resources a bit differently.
Speaking as a mod, you need to take it easy. Attacking people when you don't understand the situation isn't respectful at all - If you have questions, you should ask those questions. Jumping to conclusions because you didn't bother to read is cringe.
Speaking as a council member, this delay was for the marketplace feature, and had nothing to do with sILV2. The team wanted to include the marketplace before Alpha S1, and wanted to be able to test the marketplace before releasing it to the public.
Speaking as an individual, I'm so incredibly far from being a sILV2 whale. You better have some data to back it up if you're gonna start throwing around accusations like that.
If you're referring to the mention of webGL for iOS in the last meeting notes, the council did request information about when webGL for iOS could be added for IL:Z. That didn't have anything to do with the delay to add marketplace, it was literally just a question we wanted an answer to.

People are very burned with the behavior of Illuvium. I don't think it's right to postpone the launch without giving a convincing explanation 1 day before. They had known this for some time that it would have to be postponed.
He has ridiculed the YouTubers, who interviewed people close to Illuvium and at no point did they say that there was something that didn't work. Given that social networks and You Tube have gone silent. They are expected to rule on this bucket of cold water this weekend. What I find embarrassing is that they haven't given a release date for Illuvium Zero. I think Illuvium Beyond should be discontinued, people are suspicious. I have to endure ridicule from friends and family for trusting a platform that is not honest. If the game wants to be a triple A it has to be in all aspects and they have to take care of those who have wasted the game and been deceived. We have been waiting since July.
However, I observe how there are representatives of the social networks who cencuser and ban indefinitely users who give their opinion and go against the interests of Illuvium.
I used to have 53 lands, but now I have 47 of which I am selling 20. I sold the sILV2 I was accumulating to buy D1sks Illuvium Beyond. I had made contracts with users to play the lands that I would not use by offering 0'03$/exp. Now I will have to pay them without making a profit.

rushing season 1 alpha doesn't mean open beta comes any quicker. if they release alpha S1 today, it doesn't mean you get revenue any quicker. so what is your rush?
at landsale nobody ever gave a date that open beta would launch and provide revenue. if you bought thinking you would have revenue very quickly you did not do your research appropriately.
I think it would be massively foolish to rush the games out the door, potentially ruining their reputation, and cause a loss of future revenues simply because some investors didn't do their homework and are upset. Feel free to voice your concerns, but if your opinions run contrary to the reality of how the gaming industry operates, prepare to be called out on it.

I told you July because I already included the 4-6 weeks since July. I find it acceptable that it was delayed until January, but since they said the game would be released on February 21st, there shouldn't be any further delays. the only thing the Illuvium Zero launch announcement has achieved is doubling the price of ILV tokens.

If you want to be upset about Alpha S1's release date being pushed back, that's reasonable. No one is trying to stifle your opinion. I'm just pointing out that showing up with your guns blazing asserting things that aren't true without doing research isn't a constructive way to bring criticism forward. iPhone users are not "soibois", they are a portion of the addressable market for IL:Z, and they are also land owners. That's neither here nor there with regard to Alpha S1 getting pushed back, but it's not a productive way to bring criticism forward.
It's completely reasonable to ask for communication further in advance of a delay. It's unreasonable to assert that the delay was because the council was (somehow?) going to profit by adding a delay using our allegedly massive bags of sILV2. Just keep it constructive and to the facts.

Honestly I'm not here to rebut your feedback or argue, I spend a lot of time reading to get a gauge on how the community is feeling. The way you feel is the way you feel. I could steel man an argument for the delay, but I'm not looking to tell you you're wrong. I'll add that I'll hop in on portions of the argument that are incorrect, such as the delay being for WebGL. The delay is for the addition of the marketplace.
I am afraid that there might be many more people feeling like this, they are just not expressing them publicly like this...
I personally know of several other people, that are not disappointed, but angry...
I'd recommend reading through Johnny's posts in this channel, he explains the reasons for pushing back the S1 reset pretty well in my opinion.
I know the reasons and now there is no other way, but I think that things should have been different a long time ago, instead of "wasting time" on the graphics the team should have been developing the marketplace and economics in the first place, but thats just my opinion...
I disagree, there are thousands of Web3 games being built right now. The market is going to be flooded in the next couple of years. If we want this game to be successful for a decade plus, it needs to stand out above all others. Graphics, game play, story, are all very important.
People are certainly free to feel how they want, but Illuvium has ALWAYS been a long term play, and it's obvious that the way to maximize returns is to have the game be adopted by as many players as possible in the long run. You don't get players by releasing sub-standard games early.
The studio shouldn't let retail investor sentiment (in regards to when they want their return) affect quality of the product. I highly doubt any of the VC that invested in Illuvium are angry and demanding IZ alpha season 1 be released immediately.
As I've mentioned multiple times here that nobody's bothered to respond to, alpha S1 release has NO BEARING on investors getting revenue. Why hyperfocus on this? Might as well be upset we don't have the next Overworld beta with the next region.
Also, the studio FREQUENTLY asks the community for direction. The only reason we didn't get Illuvitars months ago is because the community wanted albums/collection game instead of just PFPs. The time to voice opinions as an ILV holder/investor is at the time that governance is happening. There's no use in not being involved and then being upset afterwards. If someone doesn't like that they improved graphics quality, should have voiced that concern when they were talking about it last year, not now. Write an IIP. Run a Discord poll. It's a DAO. If the rest of the community agrees with you, the DAO will change direction.
Graphics can be improved overtime, the internal game mechanics have to be developed first imo

Revdis happened last year, but nobody ever gave a release date for full game. Even when revdis starts there's no guarantees how much it will be. The studio's vision is 9+ games, this is a long term play.
You can express feelings and experience, but you can write an IIP. Anyone can write and submit an IIP. Quite literally. Any DAO member.

Yes the release to testers was delayed, but that doesn't necessarily mean the systems that made it into the first alpha release we got were already in it. It's much more likely that programmers kept working and developing more systems while graphics were being improved.
So July build + 4k graphics + more systems programmed in the mean time = January build

The council is also generally available to help get proposals into the proper format and assist with getting proposals in a votable state.

And yes, it means that an IIP that requests a fundamental change in release cadence has a very high burden of proof. You better do your research, because there are a LOT of other investors it affects.

Sure, both graphics and game mechanics can be developed over time. However, first impressions can't. And a lot of the success nowadays is tied to players first impressions. If they don't like what they see they will likely move on and not care about the improvements that come later.
Agreed, it would require talking to the team, probably the council, talking to the general community and gauging sentiment and convincing people. But if it's a big enough deal and passing the IIP is important enough, someone's gotta do the work. We can't just sit and do nothing and then say we don't like how it turned out. That's why I spend a LOT of my time reading this Discord (lucky I work from home!) and chatting with community and team members.

I am dealing with dev "bullshit" every day at my work, for several hours, changing priority of project, wrong allocation of resources, noone wanting to make decisions and stuff, so honestly I dont have the energy to get so deep in Illuviums dev process after I get home my work - I would get crazy from that...
The Marketplace is the final gameplay/balancing feature currently planned for the Alpha > Beta Phase.

That's fair, we could have launched with the original graphics and have relied on the DAO to help balance while uplifting the graphic assets in the background.
The call was made to prioritize the graphic assets/UIs as we didn't want to risk reputation damage/people shitting on the project that heavily markets itself as AAA.
But I see your point, if public perception wasn't a concern we could have used that time wisely to benefit from an extra couple of months of feedback.
I can say we're pretty damn prioritized on Illuvium Zero. We made a decision and we're going hard to deliver. We really try to ensure there is ZERO downtime.
@spring mist has come in as a phenomenal leader for this team btw. Huge depth of technical knowledge as well as leadership skills.

Johnny, Julien and the team are balancing and I really mean it when I say Land Owner feedback is hugely important here, we're also hiring a new Architect for the Illuvium Zero Team as well as an additional Game Designer.

Hi, im wondering where is the best place to get information about Zero? I have been playing since day one and i only just now stumbled upon the third version of the game. (ive been playing the first version this whole time). And now i see there was going to be a reset that i had no idea about.. I get emails that are basically marketing but nothing about resets and new versions of ZERO. I see now i need to be proactive about discovering new information. So where do find out the info?
The intent for the Alpha, since the very first IIP, was always that it would be primarily client side, with a focus of validating that the game is interesting to the players, and ensuring the balance of the game in isolation. The game is casual, and supposed to consume a small amount of time each day, but it should still be fun and ideally loved!
The data from the Alpha will be used to help inform the overall balancing process where we need to consider multiple games, market factors, and so on. However the expectation is that, even post launch, Zero will have ongoing changes in reflection to both community desires and market forces. This will include everything from minor balances changes to major new game features.
The Marketplace feature specifically is important for balance right now because of the changes we made to Converters. Originally they balanced the game from a resource perspective but they felt way too powerful, hurting the value of the Extractors/Sites which in turn reflects in the relative value and differentiation of the Land Plot NFTs. The Converter power reduction is one-half of the fix, the Marketlpace is the other. Without the Marketplace, the Converter change it is too punishing to unbalanced plots and we can't go in to Season 1 with such an imbalance.
The amount of time players are putting in to Zero far exceeded our expectations, and many people are still actively playing Zero, despite no revenue incentive, and no end-game content. Because of the reception we are hiring some more people in to the team, specifically building out some backend team directly assigned to Illuvium Zero rather than having to rely on the shared backend team resources (these guys are absolute guns, but also very often on the critical path). This will help us deliver faster, and likely means we can get more feaures in to the Open Beta... Raids anyone (maybe 😉 ).
It also means I don't have to spend so much time on Zero, as much as I love the game and relish working on it, my remit as CTO covers all of Illuviums tech, not just Zero, and I don't want time spent on Zero to mean I do a poor job somewhere else.
As to delays, the reasons have already been mentioned, scroll up if they aren't pinned, I'm not going over them again.

I get notifications from discord, while I do practically live here I usually wake up to an announcement ping that there's a new version.
I think that the issue is that none of the games are stable public builds. The studio has not released a single finished game yet. It’s all still private testing. When they are ready they will have builds that do that sort of thing.
There are other ways to be informed of new builds that need to be downloaded though.

For Alpha we didn't prioritise any of this kind of tech, once beta is out from time to time new builds will require a full download (as you would see with any other app), but MOST of the time updates will be data loaded by the client at runtime.
Even in Alpha moving forward the client should tell you that an update is needed. But it will be a full download/reinstall for a while yet.

no we need to do a "spike" (short focused effort) to determine effort required for WebGL running smoothly on iOS, this should happen pretty soon, the results of that spike will inform the timeline
iOS native is not a priority given Apple policy doesn't allow us to release on app store
I'm not looking for a definitive answer because Open Beta is way down the road, but I am interested in your thoughts. I play Overworld and IZ every day and enjoy both immensely. Illuvium Zero needs a lot of time and focus in the first few days. Has there been any early discussions about IZ Open Beta launching BEFORE Overworld and Arena Open Beta? I believe this was talked about when IZ was first proposed, but recent talk has been about simultaneous launches. A week or even a few days would allow land owners to get their plots going, making progress to adding fuel to the game loop, and not require as much focused attention. I don't want to have to choose between starting my land plots, or jumping into the Overworld and going after server firsts on Day One of Open Beta!

The preference is to launch Zero first, but this needs to be balanced with other factors, an extreme example:
Would we delay completely ready Arena and Overworld games if Zero was going to be 2 months later? ... Probably not, better to come up with an alternative way to ensure Land holders get their revenue share.
i think im up to speed as far as what is required from me now. Id imagine you are already aware, but for mass adoption of any game it really needs to be super easy(plug and play) for the average player(which i consider my self). There are many blockchain games that i have tried to play but lose interest super fast when the technology and computer skills are beyond my reach(which isnt that hard) . Heres hoping you guys have accessibility as a top priority.

Do blueprints themselves have mint numbers? trying to access if there is any benefit for someone who rushes and finds BP's quickly vs someone who jumps in later in the season and eventually finds them

I'm firmly against attacking other plots for resources. The imbalance between tiers is pretty high, but it should be as they cost money. I can only imagine a poor t1 getting ravaged by a megacity nextdoor. Not fun.
Building some kind of capabilities in the city to raid a NPC type thing, an underground city controlled by an enemy faction or something. Another way to play and gain resources. Much better.

Thats because its been asked 100 times and the answer is always the same... no ETA has been given yet.
Attacking other plots for resources is only negative if the defending plot losses resources when attacked.
I doubt attacking other plots is something we will see anytime soon, however if / when it is implemented, one solution is that when you attack another plot the defender doesn’t see it at all. Their game is unaffected.
You get your forces together, you pay an attackers cost and you launch an attack hoping to get back more than you spent.
The game looks at what defences the other plot has, and simulates a battle. It tells you what forces you lost and what you brought back to your base as loot.

i have suggestion regarding the collection of ressources.
Instead of waiting for the collection to end and gathering all ressources at once, I think it'd make more sense if it ticked as time went on just like the passive gathering from converters.
- it would allow proper collection based on each building's efficiency rather than moving power stations to maximize them.
- It would prevent the need to wake up in the middle of the night to collect fuel. making the game quite stressful at times for efficiency.
you'll sell need to activate the collection to keep people actively playing, but that can be cancelled at any time to refresh the time.
I find collecting ressources slowly makes more sense than all at once as far as lore as well.

A few days ago, disappointed by the placement of Illuvium Zero I started selling the less significant plots of the collection of 52 I had. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and in one I put the price in IMX instead of ETH. I give you a tip that before validating the price you look at the price in $. Despite having lost $700 on this mistake (mine and mine alone) I consider myself to have lost much more with the placement of D'Illuvium Zero. I have currently reduced the land portfolio from 52 to 45 lands, I have stopped sales because I am convinced that the layoff will not last more than 2 or 3 months, a period similar to 6th January to 21st February. There are people who will tell me that I made it up, of course I did. I believe in something, those who do not believe in anything do not exist. It is necessary to establish a reasonable foreseeable time, I think 2 months is reasonable. There are 3 very upcoming events: Illuvium Beyond (March 7th), Staking Release (April) and illuvium zero alpha release.
It's OK to pay a commission for proportional fuel collection at any time. can be implemented there by purchasing a build that allows it. I've played and there's plenty of fuel, with a tier 4 you accumulate more than 10 million unused fuel. More precisely, it should be the minerals that could be collected proportionally. Maybe they should have two or three decimal places. It would be good to collect the minerals in advance once a day with decimals.
For the Windows Zero Version i wish for a fps limit i just capped the frames via nvidia control panel because otherwise it really drains too much performance
it's not about just having enough fuel.. sure right now it might be since it's worth nothing.. but when it could be sold for eth, fuel would be the one that truly matters in the end.. and at a generation rate of 17 hours, you'll have to wake up in the middle of the night every 2 days to collect at the appropriate time... that's going to be a major pain in the ass.
Someone mentioned raiding the other lands... I don't think anyone who has bought land is willing to lose the resources of their land. Another thing would be for the Illuvium to put imaginary plots that were not owned by any person to get additional resources. I know there are people who won't like this because they take special pleasure in stealing resources from a living being who owns land. Things that have human misery. They can create an ethical game, there are people who want it to be malevolent like human life itself. This will DEFINITELY not be done. If you want war go fight in ARENA. If you want free resources go to OVERWORLD.
Hydrogen, carbon and silicon fuel is generated in IZ, which is only used for IZ. It also generates minerals (Krypton, Solon and Hiperion) that can be sold in the market to travel to OVERWORLD or to strengthen the fights in ARENA. I believe that's called a choice. You also have the choice of using less paths and aim for the 20-24h generation time, which (generally, depending on layout) allows you to fit more converters on the plot, possibly netting you more fuel than you would get by messing up your sleep schedule.
Personally, I wouldn't let a game mechanic dictate how I run my life, I'd just adjust to a slightly lower game efficiency and stay healthy. But everyone's free to do as they choose.

That’s right, except for some, this is t just a game anymore when it comes to fuel… may become like a job… I understand it’s a choice everyone makes, I’m merely making a suggestion that could I believe accommodate more than myself, it’s still a choice you can make if you only want to collect once a day, but for those who’d like to do a bit more efficiently, I think tweaking the way to collect can accommodate most of not all players

Agreed as a land owner in IZ, I don't like the idea of my resources being sabotaged by other players. Raiding NPC's or competing with players over neutral resources in some way would be super cool, though!

yes, the plan is to launch MegaCities with Open Beta, yes it will be like one large plot the equivalent size of having 4 (or 9 plots), production boost will probably be localised (so 4x boost on the part that is T4, no boost on the part that is T1), landmark boosts apply to all plots

Johnny i watched your 1hour live stream , but still dont quite get the full game mechanics, i want to learn as much as possible before i start so i can correctly decide what lend to get. Cant play it without land unfrotunantly so i cant get the gist of it... ( i see there is megacities involved as well now etc ) so should i get 1 t1 land or can i combine multiple t1,t2,t3 etc for a megacity ? do they need to be in the same parcels next to each other in order to combine them ? .. Where can i find all this info ? Sorry if this has been asked before, i am new and just truing to learn about the game. I love playing similar games so i think i would love Illuvium..
yes Neutral resources is another idea, raids is definitely just an idea at the moment, no ones even talked about putting it on a dev timeline ... very open to change (or maybe no-one wants and it wont happen)
I think it makes sense as a system in terms of engagement and time to implement! There's some obvious balancing questions
- T4 raids against T1 players (how to do fair matching)
- What if I sell all my fuel right before it starts (how to make sure the rewards are there)
I could see this working in some way that players contribute or lock a certain number of resources and compete with other players to come out with more than they put in. Or if the ILV team is generous it could be purely additional neutral resources we compete with other players over
I don't think resources are an issue... you don't know a raid is coming, so as a raider you might aim to keep resoures low, but you also can't build if you don't stock up resources
T1 v T4 is interesting, I hadn't thought about it as in the end game it shouldn't matter that much, if you are T1 don't opt in to raids until you have built up a lot of units ... but maybe some kind of honour system could help here too (e.g. you lose honour for attacking weaker plots, gain it for attacking stronger plots)
there's not a great single place to go to get an explanation of all of the game, there are some tutorials on Illuvium youtube (just search "Illuvium: Zero Alpha Tutorial" on offical channel), and a few pinned here as well (in archived channel)... maybe some community resources out there too (anyone?)

my feeling is that in the context of someone who is buying a megacity builders will be 'cheap' as we want them to be at a point where F2P players will buy them also

There is no productivity improvement for having a mega city, I have 3 myself, I see no justification for all 4 lands being worth more. It just makes it easier to exchange resources between the 4 lands while playing, as if they were one. It is not planned to be implemented until IZ is fully designed.

If you have a city with a t3 or t4 it will 100 % be more valuable as a package.
If you save like 10-20 % space on your T4 this would result in a huge earning boost already.
Also no fee to transfer recources for scanning to another plot is valuable too.

My other concern is the economics behind it, as far as i understand ( i might be wrong since i only started exploring Illuvium recently ) is that 5% of the total fuel used would be from land owners and the rest 95% would be Game provided. As Pelican said "For every 1 fuel token land owners sell the DAO will sell 19 fuel tokens". So without knowing the pricing is hard to tell if tis a good investment or not.

all tokens have an ID and we typically use a sequence, but there's no in-game benefit planned (we might have a leaderboard of 'first discovered by' so it has bragging rights, but you can't sell them, it would be tied to the account/nickname)
some people might still value the lower ID numbers
Even if you knew the pricing you still wouldn’t be able to calculate anything without knowing how much fuel was being bought by players in overworld.
Basically you get to be early, but it’s a gamble and chances are that buying ILV tokens will be more profitable.
I have a T2 for fun, but I don’t expect big income from it.
You should make rectangular Megacity shapes, such as 3x2, 4x3, etc. possible. This way there will be more possibilities to make Megacities and there will be more activity in the market looking for them

Chances are the next sale won't happen until the games have been launched and in open beta for a while. I expect the team will want to observe the market for a bit and see what the fuel demands are actually like before they toss more land into the mix.

You are correct, but also depends on what unexpected growth is, and without proper analytics (because we are not live yet) we can only assume what can/could happen.
This is a dau. The existing land owners would be unlikely to vote to devalue their own lands by having another sale.
So realistically the votes in favour of a new land sale would be because token holders see a great opportunity to raise extra funds using the sale. The number of gamers playing overworld is irrelevant. If there is too much fuel demand the team can just increase the output of fuel mining.
That is the perspective of the DAO, but there are other factors that can change this as well (from dev standpoint)

Well they had to give a capped figure before the first sale, otherwise saying unlimited lands would have scared away some of the investors. So 100k is a nice round number.

I don’t work for the team. Presumably they looked at Axie lands and other relevant data and felt that 20k would be a number that the market would have sufficient interested investors.
Why do you think 20k has some special meaning and not 21k or 19k?
Selling at launch is practically ruled out unless land prices randomly go to the moon between now and launch.
Devaluing the lands already sold before the game has even properly stared would be a PR disaster.
Obviously nobody is going to propose that.

The percentage numbers are presumably based on the team’s internal data forecasts of what they think will be a reasonable return for land investors to be given.
They aren’t arbitrary, they are carefully considered. But no there is no special reason for 5% rather than 5.1% or 4.9%.
These are just round numbers.
If land owners are not making anything, that means the game has failed to attract players.
That’s not a scenario anybody really wants to plan for.
If you expect that scenario, you should probably look at other investments. NFA.

Not using a precicios square of which yoo only have 25x25 in a normal city. It will have no effect like roads but is purely estethic. people who play city builders want some kind of order... and separate areas of types of buildings.

I just have to say, I like very much the idea of a megacity... BUT... total land plots are 100.000 and players will be in the millions probably.
so if you want a 50x50 or 75x75 plot you will have to pay dearly, and there will not be many out there... of the 100.000 max players, there will be only like max 1000 players who have a megacity. Of millions of potencial players. This seems somehow wrong... If people are willing to pay for it then why not more?

It all depends and no single individual will be able to play all those lands, to limit the mega cities would be key

I started playing 10 plots, and it is quite manageable... especially if you consider the beginning is the hardest. But I lost interest because there basically was none economically, except for experimentation... and I did not need so much for that. But that said... love the game and looking very much forward to open beta... not that much to alpha 1
True, alpha gave me the insight to the game and it’s mechanics, it is up to me now to choose what I want to do and have it optimized for fuel selling (>T2) or blueprint farming T1

The roughly 5% has always been stated, from before the land sale and since then. It is unlikely to change.
You will be able to sell fuel and scan for blueprints, who knows how much the blueprints could go for, especially alpha ones.
also being able to stock up on fuel before the game officially launches could give you a huge advantage early on.

a question regarding scanners. Lets imagine that during 24 hours scanning period the % was cero. Then I move it to a zone that has 100% and I clicked it, will it count as 100% or the scan percentage is acummulative, therefore will it be 0%? Im asking because maybe we can build like 20 scanners and rotate them and click them one by one just like converters.
Sounds like cheating but you we can do that right now with fuel converters.

Abyssal Bassin has been my best. In the last week with 4 scanners I grabbed the last 3 biodata I needed. Tier1. I’ve played consistently since launch. Level 530

The average placement prices of the first lands sale were much higher than the market prices. I don't know why you want a new land placement if Illuvium Zero isn't out yet and you can buy it now at a higher price. Maybe you want, you want 75000 land to be placed now so you can buy cheap.

It has nothing to do with it. All placements will follow the same procedure, but will not have a similar degree of acceptance. If a land placement is announced the current owners will sell some of their land to try to buy at a lower price, or perhaps not buy at all. At the rate of release of the game, IZ will not finish consolidating this year, perhaps in 2024 and in 2025 we would have a new sale.

I have a t1 land I’ve been playing on, no blueprints yet. The free land they let you play on, do we get to keep anything from that or just the land we own?
I started to play the beta this week and really enjoyed the experience. What can you do with the land nft side of the game?
For now there is nothing you keep with free to play land, there is speculation that maybe in the future there could be account bound items obtained from free to play but that's just an idea
You will only be able to keep blueprints from land that you own. Not the free to play
You can build up your city in IZ to farm fuel that is used to travel in the overworld, and find blueprints to make cosmetic skins for your ranger

I finally got a Ti-ru! I have now found all 5 Illuvials on my T2 Halcyon Sea plot, and I'm just missing 2 blueprints right now.

That was the percentage drop rate for successful scanning. I think the rate for the lowest ones was increased to like 4% or something though.
Fuel converters passive generation are also affected by efficiency. If their efficiency is below 51% they produce nothing. (on level 1, 2 and 4, as that would only have a generation of 1 multiplied by efficiency then rounded down if at 50% or lower)

About six weeks, if my count is correct.
well, I started out with 2 scanners, only got 1 biodata for like 3 weeks. Then upped the count first to 7 scanners, got 3 more biodata, then added another 3 scanners for a total of 10 before I found the last one.
If you meant the level, it's mostly from having high level resource buildings pretty early (1 of each mine, 2 of each converter, all lv8 with enough paths to harvest twice in a day).
So for t1 I think best to just build a blueprint farm haha
Yeah, it's a lot easier than on higher tiers it seems. Much more free space on T1, just need a good layout. I can fit at most 13 Scanners (100% efficiency) on my plot, but then I barely have space for anything else.

Yes for the alpha, once you have the 5 biodatas, you could remove all your scanners and replace them with material labs and other buildings.
To find the blueprints, you need to research for them in your material labs. To help increase the efficiency of your material labs, you can put Databanks nearby.
Other science buildings are not needed yet. The holographic statue will increase your chance of finding an illuvial of the same affinity. No help in alpha but looks cool.
The marketplace is the big update coming in the next patch. There will be a simulated marketplace they want to test out before alpha season 1.

If you have all the scans done there should be no need to scan further.
Biodata needs further research. Perhaps you need more of the science buildings to help in that research. I believe There are several YouTubers in #🎨〕community-content that have found all the skins.

No, if your material labs are already at 150%, the databank will not increase the efficiency further. Maybe the databank could allow you to reposition the power stations to increase the efficiency of other buildings however

Yeah, I asked the official illuvium account on reddit about that and they said you have to sell it to the market. It was something about keeping track of the total supply and demand to determine the prices of each fuel. But I agree, you should be able to transfer them as long as its within the same account.
There’s some technical limitations that will make this tricky. But the team is certainly wanting it to at least FEEL like it’s a transfer.

This has been resolved elsewhere it seems. The solution is higher efficiency. Don’t keep the same type of converters close together.
Move the building around. Place power stations nearby. 5% sounds really low. Do you have multiple research labs next to each other?

Yeah, Ive got 3 T1's, got all 5 illuvials + 15 blueprints on 2 of them, but then I just cannot get a damn Atlas on my last one.
No, the key is to just build more Research Labs. I had one scanner, 1 research lab, and 1 illuvial and managed to get all facts and blueprints for the 1 illuvial. But then I somehow got 4 more illuvials over the next couple days where I now had 20 more facts and 12 more blueprints to collect so I ended up with 5 research labs running daily and was able to collect them all in a couple weeks.

It is hard to tell what the return on investment will be this early. But the value in T1's vs the higher tiers is the skins. The cost of scanning and researching is pretty minimal once you get to Stage 7 for your resource converters and extractors and the Tier 1's have bigger spaces to build multiple scanners. There is a bit of a grind to get to a stage 7 nexus where your building count jumps from 50-100, but after that, you can just keep building power stations to get 150% and extra storage units instead of upgrading to the more expensive ones which helps you get the resources for building the scanners and research stations.
In this Alpha, no. But apparently in the future it will allow for scanning/researching higher tier illuvials.

yeah, I found it comes in waves. Like on 5 research labs, 1 day I will get zero facts or blueprints and the next day I'll get 5 facts/blueprints.
Anecdotally, I built a holographic statue and scanned 2 new biodata the next day, but that was probably coincidence. The way the statues are supposed to work in the full game is to find Illuvials of the same affinity. But the 5 available in Alpha all have different affinities.

Since Illuvium Beyond will be the primary focus next week, I was really hoping we would get Illuvium Zero Patch 0.1.4 this week . . . I'm ready to test out the Marketplace and any other changes.
Took a little over two weeks to find first BP since converter nerf reset... then another week or two to find the other two for the same biodata. Still scanning for the other Illuvials... It's grindy on a t1 but once it gets going it's okay.
Anyone else been on a Biodata skid the past two weeks? Don’t think I’ve pulled one on either scanner on my T1 in about that timeframe.

Well, both BMW and a carriage have wheels and move, but one is way better that the other haha. so, I believe a maxed out Lab can find normal BPs with no issue 🙂

What Kingyo said-- a Hyperion Extractor requires a Hyperion Reservoir on your land.
Then you need to be sure you're building the extractor right on top of the Reservoir.

minting going to be for blueprints (15 in total) based on biodata from only those T1 illuvials, yes. So you dont need higher level of scanner before official release

yeah theoretically they will do a landsale when the demand for fuel outpaces the existing lands... so the existing lands won't lose revenue, they can only make so much and the DAO had to have been creating extra fuel just to keep up with demand.
but still, I think it makes sense to break it into smaller chunks than 20,000. if the fuel demand is extra high, maybe release a couple thousand new lands. that way if demand craters (market conditions) you don't suddenly have 40,000 lands fighting to sell fuel.

It is said that 5% of the "Illuvium metavers" profits will go to the land owners and as land owner, we also need to sell fuel to get revenue, so what does it mean exactly ?
The 5% are not distributed but stored in a smart contract then when you sell your fuels, then you get ETH from this contract ?

When a landowner mints fuel from their land and sells it to the balancer pool, the DAO mints 19x the fuel as well. So 95% of revenue from fuel sales (in-game revenue) goes to ILV stakers. Last 5% goes to the land owners selling fuel.
The price and demand of fuel can change, however.
Can higher level singularity scanners find T1 biodata?
if you now get a fuel income of $150/year for a Tier1, assuming that the number of users doubles, then your lands will go on to earn $300/year. Then it will be at this time that Illuvium places 20000 new plots. Income would return to $150/year.

We'll never know at this point, that needs more data from player sentiment if we're losing velocity due to people getting priced out of fuel and/or T1s getting too expensive
suppose that in the month of June 8000 people play, if in the month of August the users increase to 16000, the demand for fuel would double. These are rough numbers, which would explain that a hypothetical exit to the market of 20,000 lands does not affect the income of landowners.
Those are just random numbers, what if those 16000 players in August spend 5x more money? Can also speculate the other way
the summary of the mechanism that will reveal that a new placement of land must be made, lies in the fact that now a Tier1 piece of land is worth $550, if the market detects that it is profitable and productive, it will buy land until the price rises to $1100. Illuvium will then place new lands to drive the price down.

In any case, the system for the income you will get will be manipulated. Perhaps the marketing will establish that to play one day you will need 10 units of fuel at $5, one day to attract new players a campaign will be released that will say that you only need 4 units of fuel at $2. If the number of players is increased x10, the fuel price will be set to 1 unit at $5. The sale price of the fuel and the purchase price will always be adjusted as appropriate. That's why I think that the landowners will get between 15-25% annual return.
It sounds like you may need to read up on how the rails on the price of fuel will work. The cost in the game will be priced in fuel tokens. And the price of the fuel tokens will only be allowed to fluctuate 25% up from the middle goal price and 25% down from the middle goal price.
Geez I must have got lucky then. I only had to run 3 scanners on a single T1 for about 3 weeks to find all 5.

If no one plays the game then no one buys fuel and the landlords sell into oblivion. There’s no guarantee.

Feedback on alpha. This is a maxed level 9 Nexus. The airdrop is not even worth pushing the button at these high levels. If you want to keep the air drop function remain relevant, need to scale it up much more. Having a fun time playing the city builder game, looking forward to season one.

Oh, if that's true then It's really more interesting to buy ILV than lands.
If you have a land that will be 1/100 000 shares, worst than that because T1 will not give 1/100 000 of the resources because other land tiers have production boost and landmark boosts. But let just assume than 1 T1 = 1/100 000 of the fuels production (let put aside the fact that optimizing and playing lands will become a full part job and only pro gamers/guild will produce correctly, and lets assume than all T1 produce the same amount of fuels)
With all these wrong supposition, on the market, it will represent only 5% of the market volume.
Regarding the revdis, for the land owner, that will be the only income source.
For ILV stakers, and without doing anything, they will earn 95% of the fuels volume, which will be 20 times more than land owners.
And in addition, they (only ILV stakers) will also have other sources for their revdis.
Let say that right now a T1 cost about $700.
That's about the price of 10 ILV.
The max supply of ILV is 1M, so 10 ILV is also is like land, 1/100 000 of the supply.
So for the same price you can choose to work everyday and get land revdis OR staking ILV, doing nothing and earn more than 20 times this previous amount.
Am I correct ??

I'd love to hear a more complete answer to this, but my take is that 1. land utility is subject to variables controlled by the council (can be made more profitable if it's proven to be lacking), but that also might mean less of an asymmetric bet investing in these. And 2. there could be other uses for land down the line that makes it more valuable apart from the fuel yield. Again, it's a good point you're making if we consider revdis so will follow this conversation
I mean, downside to #1 is if landowners are owning too much we might see profits get toned down from policy changes which sucks but if the ILV price goes to the moon nobody will put a damper on it
Lands are just a lot more speculative.
ILV gets revdis and thats it.
Land gets 5% of fuel, blueprints, and maybe other cool stuff in the future.
Plus the NFT market is super irrational and things can be worth a ton just because people want it and its a limited supply. Thats a lot less likely to happen with the token.

ILV has gone from $1500 to $38 in 1 year. The land sold for $992 and is now worth $600.
And T1 sold for around 3 sILV2 that was worth around 600 dollars.

I don’t think it’s a full time job once the land is setup and you only have to collect resource once or twice a day.
To get revdis you must lock your tokens whilst to get fuel revenue you don’t have to lock your land meaning you can sell your NFT if valuations get crazy but you wouldn’t be able to sell your ILV

Firstly, there are only 20k lands and not 100k.
100k is just the theoretical limit.
Secondly, ILZ is designed to be an enjoyable game. It’s not supposed to be a job. If you want to grind the game with the mentality of a job, that’s up to you, but the ‘having fun’ part is the main reason to buy a land.
Finally, yes you are right that buying ILV is very likely to give you better financial returns than buying land.
Many people have said this, but I don’t hang out in this chat much, so I couldn’t be certain how recently.
I wouldn't assume land is 1/100,000. There's only 20,000. It could take a couple years before the next 20,000 even go up for sale, could be a decade or more before full 100,000 are out.
Here I did some made up math projections, check out image attached. I took total number of fuel sites, multiplied by tier production boost, fuel landmark (which is an overestimation because fuel boost doesn't work for all fuels, T4 is slightly overrepresented here, based on each land's makeup). Based on my math for every $10m monthly revenue fuel sales do:
T1 - $5.45
T2 - $21.79
T3 - $65.37
T4 - $215.72
T5 - $653.70
And revdis would be ~$0.99 per ILV
So a T1 is AT BEST probably worth 5.5 ILV if you're only looking at fuel revenue.
Further Cons of Land vs ILV:
There's fuel overhead to construct buildings and perform actions. This will lower T1 revenue a more significant portion than it would say a T4.
ILV has more sources of revenue than just fuel.
You have to login and actually claim the fuel and sell it or it's wasted.
Further Pros of Land vs ILV:
Blueprints. If you get a good one and you're the only one with it you could make bucketloads selling skins.
The price could get stupid for no good reason because it's more scarce. The value can be affected by FOMO if people see skins raking in cash.
Conclusion
Personal opinion, I don't think a single T1 is worth buying for fuel production unless for some reason passive fuel generation from mass converters is viable. A T1 is imo for blueprint farming when you own a higher tier that you can send resources from, or in a megacity.
I decided to diversify. I got a T3 so I could be involved as it was the largest portion of my portfolio I could invest. I spent like 1.7 ETH on sILV2 and current floor is 2.85 ETH. I also got a T1 to focus more on blueprint farming. I also have a good chunk of SLP and ILV. My strategy was: "Why not both?"
Sure, Having all Illuvium assets is a good diversification to whatever can happen.
All we know for now is that Illuvium will change the world so betting on anything in it should be good 😆

I don't know how to derive the value of the land other than it's expected yield. DAO will run and grow massively even at 90-10 or something. Imagine with the sheet above you need >$500M of revenue to recoup a T4. Just hope they do, could be an IIP one day

Are you considering the base land tier multiplier? T4s for instance will do 4x of everything a T1 does given same number of resources
The sheet assumes having extractors only (1:1 to fuel sites), but when you introduce converters the gap even widens, as the cost to convert don't go higher on T4
Keep in mind that each tier of land produces more fuel. A Tier 4 land the extractor makes 300% more fuel than a tier one land extractor (0% boost)
When I was playing around with optimizing land layouts before I was able to reach around 37 extractors in a T4 with 150%ish efficiency, with the landmark ones at 175. So an order of magnitude sounds pretty accurate given that
- T1s will be the best space to do scans so using valuable real estate
- The cost of conversion will eat into their net yield, and this happens each time they convert
It really is gonna be tough for T1s to recoup their investment with the current variables

Prediciting that updates to paths will change how we think about these layouts. Right now I wouldn't bother with them, the decrease in duration is an efficiency you won't get to take advantage all the time and better to optimize for more impactful clicks (ie better to click 1x a day for 1.2x vs click 1.2x a day for 1x) if that makes sense
In this area up here you can fit 10 scanners at 25% efficiency = 2.5x the output you have 😉
Johnny mentioned iirc that Paths should imply connectivity, so I guess there should be more intention behind placing your paths. Sounds complicated but it would be fun to have a transportation system for all the buildings

Except we've already been told converters are being massively nerfed so they're more 1:1 and extractors being buffed to compensate, with the marketplace picking up the slack from converters.
At that point all resource production should be extractor output + passive converter output + any extra gained from converters operating above 100% efficiency.
Worth keeping in mind, you're really just competing against other land owners creating fuel to get a bigger slice of the 5%. You making more fuel won't increase sales of fuel in the game. So it's irrelevant whether you can spam 13+ converters at 150% efficiency... everyone else can too, which puts you right back at the same tiny slice of revenue.
Also I usually underestimate revenue because I want to be pleasantly surprised. I'm expecting maybe $100/mo from my T3 and $1-$3/mo revdis per ILV. If/when it does better than that I'm happy.
In regards to skin construction, yes it requires mats and an Illuvial. So the floor price of a rampyhre skin will be a ramphyre illuvial + all the mats, plus whatever profit you can get.

Well something's not right, I can find no evidence of that in patch notes, no mention of that balance change. I can find messages from Johnny about pairing the marketplace with converter changes to 1:1. Converters were never supposed to take the tier production boost.
So if tier production boost affects converters, then it feels like T3/T4 didn't really get nerfed much but T1 got massively nerfed and T2 is stuck in the middle.

I never saw anyone say the point of the nerf was to nerf T1s, it was because converters felt too powerful in general. Converters still feel massively overpowered on T3... enough I didn't even notice the values had changed. My T1 was already a LOT slower than my T3, didn't feel like that needed a nerf.

Hi team ^^ little question, in terms of scanning, by region we have how many illuvial to scan? I've been stuck at 3 with all the facts and bleprints for a few weeks. I deduce that there are 3 per region max?

Tier 4: Level 6 Converter at 150% takes 6 grid squares and 24 hours to Convert 6 Fuel to 36 Fuel (+30 Fuel given the cost of 6). The converter gets 18 from passive generation during this time.
In the same time an Extractor at same level and efficiency produces 90 Fuel.
Extractor is ~2x better than converter in raw value 3x better per grid square.
(It is also easier to increase efficiency of Extractors, and Sites impact Converter efficiency too)
Extractors are much better even in T4 where the difference is most pronounced. At T1 the ratio is 5x better (raw).
We don't want Converts to feel super powerful (like they did in first patch), but without Converters being reasonably effective there is almost no micro management gameplay (you can't move Sites/Extractors which limits gameplay choices).
I'm not saying that Open Beta wont have changes to Converters, maybe enabled by new structures which add more interesting choices, but it is important that there are decisions to make.

Not sure it will change with upgrading scanners/mat labs to higher tiers, but right now I have zero challenge with element resources. I'm basically always capped max storage, and "wasting" my resources on cooldown just to pump my level for funsies. The things that I build cost WAY less resources than the millions upon millions of resources I'm getting.

End state: its allow player to player trade of elements for elements or fuel to fuel, this happens in game world and there is a time cost associated with how far away your plots are.
Alpha: the trades are simulated.
Primary purpose in Alpha is to ensure those with unbalanced plots, particularly at lower Tiers, aren't too harshly punished by Converter changes.
Longer term its just another way to distribute resources between plots, and creates a reason for clan/guild members to purchase plots near other members (fast resource swapping).
Shooting for 10th of March for Illuvium Zero v0.1.4, currently no blockers - testing is on-going to ensure no critical issues present.

Probably the efficiency on your converter is too low. Get that efficiency up higher. Like 100% or more.

They need to have more space between them.
Building power plants next to building ups efficiency. There’s a number of videos on YouTube explaining how to maximize efficiency.
Move things around while looking at the efficiency numbers.

How do you have so much fuel? What tier land is it? The fuel storage maxes out at 667, right? So, you must have at least 4 of each.
Balanced T3. 2 of each fuel + two convertors for each + two max storage for each
I don´t know if this depends also on the tier, but a fuel storage on a T4 maxes out at 2000 each.
But isn't the max storage for converters 67 each and 667 for the containment units? Wouldn't that be 1468?
and you have room for about... 8 max. for each fuel. 16K for each fuel, plus the converters, although I don´t think they can hold that much, I haven´t leveled any of them up to max level though. So no idea on that

Everything works well on my land, but still, if there are any bugs, the new patch should fix it. Should drop soon.

Are these funds in your wallet or the IMX layer 2 wallet?
I assume you're using the Illuvidex?
You need to link your wallet to your Illuvidex account, and you also need to connect it to the IMX platform and transfer funds there to be able to interact with the marketplace if I remember correctly
Yes, if you click your wallet at the top right of the page it should show your current funds.
There should also be a "Deposit" button to add funds to the IMX layer
They are NFTs, so I guess they will be tradable within the game
And how do we get a new deck? By buying another one or can you earn by playing
It might take a little while for the funds to show up (for me usually 5-10 mins)

Yes, you can verify that you're a landholder then fill out a form for beta access, then you'll get access to Arena and Overwoorld as well. You just need a land in your wallet to get access to Zero.

played both PC and Android and is very very good 🙂 sometimes is hard to click something etc, but thats partially cuz mobile and partially cuz Alpha stage i guess 🙂 for the stage we are on right now, its more than i was expecting tbh

Progress will transfer after open beta starts. While in Alpha testing progress will be reset if sold.

No announcement for when the alpha season 1 starts or ends yet. Can't sell anything in alpha. Only thing we can earn potentially are the 15 blueprints

That is at the current sILV2 price tho. You shouldn't buy with that since you aren't gaining the extra benefit of getting sILV2 at ILV price like during land sale or Illuvitars.
The Alpha is not about earning, its about getting the core game right... its an opportunity to play and provide feedback (and learn about the game prior to Open Beta).
Although technically the Alpha Blueprints from Season 1 will be mintable and thus saleable, I would advise against going in with the expectation they will be valuable, there is likely going to be close to 20k of each!
Not if an idea like #1077508131422216223 gets implemented to introduce a sink for them.
its a very cool idea, but I still doubt that Tier 1 Stage 1 Blueprints, which have a head start of 20k over other Tier 1 Stage 1 Blueprints, would hold a lot of value... I don't want to get any further in to price speculation, but my advice is still "Don't play the Alpha expecting big profits"

What is big profits? 15-20% : Actual value of all lands is 40M$, at the begin It's acceptable 6-8 M$ in a year for landholders.

I don't even know what you are saying, 'combustible' is not a thing.
You are welcome to speculate however you want, but the facts are:
- the publicly published intent of the alpha is to test the game and assist with bugs, mechanics and balance, that's it
- the only 'reward' from the Alpha is, at most, 15 blueprint NFTs per plot, and there there will likely be approaching 20,000 copies of each Blueprint
They have not said anything, when they start to say something it will be 2 months away. Now his obsession is selling trading cards through Illuvium Beyond. We are only 7000 land holders who have bought land, how many of these will buy more than 1 d1sk, 2 at the most. For now, just play the beta to detect errors. I have paid $50 to 3 Illuvium Zero players to play and get used to it. If we stop playing it will take longer.
I said when Illuvium Zero will run completly finished:
Fair. We bought a few lands back when reset was supposed to happen in Feb figuring we'd test it out, then get a few blueprints (whatever they're worth) to see how it works. Haven't played since they announced that the reset is off track and all the focus is elsewhere. 🤷♀️ just check in every now and again to see if there's news so I don't miss it.
The focus isn't elsewhere the IZ dev team has nothing to do with Illuvium: Beyond development (other than maybe an hour or so spent internal testing as everyone on the team is encouraged to do). The decision of the new Season 1 date needs to go to the council, informed by the teams progress, and I don't expect they will want to decide or announce that until Illuvium: Beyond is out which is just a few days away.
It didn't cost them anything to give away some discount vouchers for Illuvium Beyond for every 100 experience points we got playing in Illuvium Zero. But the marketing thing they don't do very well.
