My update after spending some time on IZ:

• features are done, we added one new thing last sprint, but there's no new feaures to add for Alpha (unless Khaled comes up with new stuff... this will be discouraged 😉 )
• this sprint we will be pulling in updated art for 3 more regions
• main work remaining is the new UI, it looks great but every screen has changed, in some cases significantly, a few weeks of work here at least
• other than that a clean-up of the tutorial is required, both the copy and the implementation, this is the first thing people see, so it has to be reasonably polished even in Alpha

I've also secured general agreement that the Alpha doesn't have to be perfect, a few known bugs and some rough edges are okay for something called 'Alpha'

Next update will be some kind of video after the UI updates are in, after that will be the Alpha release

(I know you want a date but you also should know that we aren't doing dates 😛 ... you will have to read in to that what you can)

Personally I just wait for cheap well balanced lands, sometimes someone needs liquidity and posts a decent T1 or T2 for cheaper than the rest, apparently the node location on the land also makes a difference but 🤷

Only other thing I can think of is the location, if you're going for a megacity then finding a good spot is a bit harder, you can also try and buy some land that's in a good spot that you know a megacity may potentially need but that's more risky as they tend to be more pricey

you are looking for balance of fuel and elements, that's what I heard or Crypton is nice to have apparently because it is good for travel for fuel and Hyperion is good for shard

This is too generalized a statement. You have to look at the plots individually and compare them. If you for example look on tokentrove, take a perfectly balanced t2 plot in Crystal Shores (4.24 ETH only one for sale) vs 3 t1 perfectly balanced CS plots (0.4644 ETH Crypton, 0.4922 ETH Solon, 0.5616 ETH Hyperion), u save 2.7218 ETH.

Just because something is t2 doesn't make it 4x better than a t1 if resources are shit.

By that logic if we assume 30 illuvials of each type with 150/5. And that each composite is still a type. Then we have some overlap and it comes up to 40. Then say 2 versions of each base. Brings us to 80 maybe. So eventually maybe 80.

But each batch I think is confirmed to have 25 bases. So 75/5 = 15. Id say 15 off the cuff and potentially 80 down the road

It's not really about the DEX... but rather your own personal security. You might have a standard Metamask hot wallet that you created online... but then later you buy a physical cold storage wallet like a Ledger and link it to Metamask. The transfer function will send it from your original Metamask hot wallet to the Metamask tied with your cold storage wallet.

In both cases, the NFT is still there on the IlluviDEX, just now on a different wallet address of yours.

Metamask is a software wallet. And it’s a hot wallet. Not the most secure. Very good. But not great for long term holding. It’s possible to connect a ledger hardware wallet or a trezor hardware wallet to metamask and use that added security of those cold wallets to keep the nfts safer.

It can be on IMX on a ledger. All your wallet does is store your private key that controls your tokens so if you connect a ledger to IMX through metamask you can use that wallet to store land.

(Both of those are looking wayy better as you can see in #🚰〕leaks, and Al has been leaking some cool updates as well on bush-spawning and such in recent days where the backend is updated and such)

On top of art, the team would want to give a thank you to all the land owners when the game comes out in the form of Blueprints. But this is hard if the whales with 20-300 lands can't lend out their lands and do their scanning on all their lands (73 wallets).

Because of that, I personally expect the lending system to be out for the alpha so that as many people as possible will be able to play, whether they are whales or business partners -> "Scholars".
Instead of 6369 players we would be able to see up to 3x that amount if the lending system is out with 20K lands 🙂

But if they don't manage to make the lending system, then that's no issue for me. I don't have that many lands after all :]. Johnny has shown his stance on releasing the game before Q4 and if that isn't reached he will release the game as it is in Q4.

If you’re only able to afford a T1 right now, the options would be to get that T1 or possibly consider saving until you can afford a T2.

Having T1s in different regions will give you more chances at blueprints for various skins, like Soul mentioned. But the fuel production will be lower compared to a T2s.

So you may have to shift your focus to one or the other.

Or if you know you won’t be able to afford a T2, then it wouldn’t be worth your time to worry about picking the T1 over the T2, ya know? But just my two cents 🪙

This is my theory on blueprints, please poke as many holes in it as you want.

Word is all 10k won't be unique, there will be duplicates out there (such a bad idea IMO, devs please reconsider this), but the good news at least is if you get a blueprint early, say in IZ, that duplicate may not be found for a long time, years possibly, depending on how many dupes are out there. This also ties in with my thought that blueprints are going to be harder to find than we probably think. If there are 10k, that's 10k spread out through the lifespan of the game itself. How long is that ultimately? 5-10 years? They may decide they don't want to run out in two years, and make them a lot harder to find, ensuring there are still plenty to find 5-8 yrs down the road. If we think we'll escape with 6 or 7 of them just in the IZaplha phase, prepare to be disappointed. This will be a marathon, not a sprint. Oh, and hopefully once overworld gets going, you can probably buy the leftover illuvials you need to make your skin and still turn a nice profit, so that part doesn't bother me much.

The art overhaul is well underway and looking great. We’re in the final stretch to get this ready for you.

Highlights
Art. We continue to work our way through each region, upgrading the quality. New hires have helped the speed, but sometimes it’s just a matter of things taking time to perfect.
Mechanics. The man, Johnny, will take a peek and help the team with the final push. Anyone who remembers how well the land sale did can largely thank Johnny. Everything we do is a team effort, but sometimes having a great captain helps. And I’m confident that things will speed up.
Game Design. Don’t sleep on how hard this game is to design. Other games don’t have a split free/paid option where people spend thousands to access the paid version. It does impact the balance. Does anyone think there will be an iip in the future to give land owners more of a % of fuel sales. To me, as a gamer, it would make sense. The idea of illuvium is giving ownership capabilities to the player and only giving 5% of the revenue from fuel just in theory seems odd. I feel like the reason for this is because they had a promise to stakers on 100% revenue distribution, so correct me if I’m wrong, the reason why land owners are not getting as much of a cut is because the stakers are entitled to the majority of revdis. To me, being a land owner is a mix between the two. You want to invest into the project but you also want to play the game itself. These are the people who I think should be rewarded the most. Sure, stakers are putting up capital, but a staker is more than likely diversifying their investment not solely in Illuvium. Land owners are going to be a major driving force behind the game, it makes sense to me to reward those who believe enough in the project this early to buy land to provide fuel for a game that hasn’t come out yet, more of a cut than they currently are expected to receive from fuel sales. This is just one man’s opinion but im putting here to spark some conversations from the community about what you guys think about this. I don’t see why land owners would object, I can see why stakers would, but the true ILV die hards that are staking, most likely have also bought land, not everyone but I feel like a fair amount of devout ILV stakers also bought land, so the revenue they would still be receiving the revenue just from another facet. My opinion isn’t really set one way or another more of just had this idea and wanted to see what you guys had to say

The 5% per spread of fuel related sales ( not revdis there is a difference) over the 100 000 plots ( when fully sold) is all that was agreed to when purchased

IMO it shouldn’t and won’t happen. The amount of fuel revenue going to landowners was already disclosed before the sale and increasing it in the future at the expense of stakers would create a lot of conflict within the community. Keep in mind that the council would be the ones to vote on this and they are elected by ILV holders so I think they would be inclined to preserve the value proposition that was presented to ILV buyers since the start of the project. If a council DID vote to increase land yield I think it’s likely that in the future ILV holders would elect a different council to reverse the change which would really screw over people who bought land based on a temporary change. If it was to be considered I think it’s something that would need to be considered very carefully because changing the reward structure for any investors will inherently benefit some while penalizing others.

ILV Staking is connected to REVDIS which is part of tokenomics which mean its an official.

IZ land Does not qualify for REVDIS nor is is in the tokenomics stating as such therefore its not and Official investment as per the tokenomics

IMO it is what it is and should not be given any more whether it works or doesn't

There are a lot of other ways to drive additional value to lands though that could be cool. For example IZ exclusive illuvitar accessories or frames, additional skins or emotes from blueprints, and increased new functionality with future titles.
