I absolutely agree its important. It also requires effort which I cant stress how important it is. Its the same reason bitcoin is built on proof of work. Someone has to do something that has value to get something else. And time is the most valuable resource in the world. Also the overworld effectively gating every other system is important as it greatly deters bots

And yeah mmo's are the easiest mass appeal mechanism, I mean look at wow. The only subscription model that still exists in gaming haha. Looks like we are coming full circle tbh which is super funny

For projects already deep into the life cycle, changing to UE5 is not trivial. Especially for us with so many moving parts. If we were JUST an open world it might have been easier. We also used a few third-party assets that caused issues.

It sounds like the transition from UE4 to UE5 is more approachable now. I remember Grant not wanting to switch a while back to UE5 and now it seems he's all for it.

From what RIOT dev Trevor says, there are tools for Prosumers to convert easily from UE4 to UE5c but any developer that’s worth their salt …a professional developer , those tools are not strong enough he assumed that Illuvium likely develop their own tools, given their size.

Haven't checked to be honest. Most of that stuff won't change too much. The move to UE5 is mostly for other features such as the new animation engine, concurrent editing, etc.

We have custom workflows for retopology and lighting, so Nanite and Lumen aren't even the biggest things.

The best thing to remember about our game is that most UE5 projects will use stock megascans assets because it's so easy. And they will all look the same. It will get boring fast. We have a blend of stylised and realistic that nobody else has.

Rangers can use that energy for various actions, including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory, you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel, but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a massive difference between good and less good players.

Shards have been discussed a little before. Like you can "cure" shards to get them. But different tier shards will need different amounts of fuel and resources. We need multiple kinds of shards since technically, we can meet a tier 2 or tier 3 illuvial in the wild. Can you imagine having tier 1 shards then trying to catch a tier 3? But, we do know that even with a tier 3 shard, catching a tier 3 illuvial is not 100% guaranteed.

I think the environments show in concepts and in engine gameplay (brightland steppes, crimson waste) are unique. There is no game that I can compare those environments to. This to me is awesome and makes me even more excited to explore those areas. I personally can't wait to see Crystal Shores and taiga boreal in game.

As far as i know, Augments are crafted from resources found in the overworld. Likely, they will require fuel to be crafted. But the legendary ones are weird and idk if anything is leaked about those 👍

They would get damaged in a battle and will require heals to battle again or to ensure you win...
Harvesting (i think some certain plants) will give you healing items and using those will speed up recovery to make illuvials battle-ready again.

Flying and Jumping mechanics are on point. The walking and running are decent but I know this is a WIP but I'm very impressed with how far they have come in such a shot time.

No crypto game comes close to this. This is better than a lot of so called AAA games. The ranger and mozart feel so real their designs are great

Except the capture of illuvials, some music/effect/voices, some wildlife to not feel alone i don't see any "big" thing missing ... lot of little things as you stated in the announce but look and feel is amazing and very unique
