There are some changes to this that are minor. But in general, this is true. The thing to remember is that any illuvial can appear anywhere. it's all about weights.

while the art leaks on Shard Bluff and Taiga Boreal are amazing, they do just make me realize how much the Illuvium release plan has shifted.
Last year we were talking about the full game (as in Arena, Overworld, Illuvidex, etc) being released as open beta in H1 2022, starting with 2 zones, with the rest of the zones and Illuvials being unlocked throughout the rest of 2022.
Now we see concept art of zones of Overworld, a game mode that might not be not even be out in Q3 2022, with the zones in the character leaks probably not releasing until 2023

I don't understand. Even if what you are saying is true, do you want them to "Cyberpunk 2077" it? Surely the preferred option is to move the dates back so that we can all play the product as the team intends it to be played. This will be the first shot that a AAA crypto/web3 game has at making a positive first impression on traditional gamers. Delay > rushed product?

I am confident that if you had insight to their project management and planning processes, you would be impressed. I don't think the planning is the issue, otherwise the gameplay of the private beta wouldn't be as high quality as it is from the current content creator group playing it. Keep in mind that significant time had to be diverted to the complexities of web3/crypto (ILV2 hack?), managing a global and digital team on different time zones as well as COVID, etc. They've also built very detailed and intricate illuvials from idea generation to creation. I believe all of this progress so far will be utilised in the overworld, including the combat engine. To paraphrase George E. P. Box, "all plans are wrong, but some are useful".

I think Aaron means the chance to scan a specific Illuvial in a given region. While it will be possible to scan a Rhamphyre in every region, you are going to have a much higher chance of scanning one in a fire region like Crimson Wastes as opposed to a water region like Halcyon Sea

In the Philippines we call the water buffaloes as kalabaw (carabao), where I believe they get the “cara” part of the name. Dulo literally means “end” or sometimes “extreme”. From this you can make your own hypothesis why “caradulo” and “caradulodulo”. But yeah, kinda long. 😅

Then decide what you wanna spent your energy on. Don't remember if Aaron talk about time be limited once in there.

I think it's only energy limited, which is sort of time limited if you keep traveling of course. A first (or a first few) exploration rounds without any catching or mining might be beneficial for the days/weeks thereafter.

There are two kinds of energy. Harvesting and fighting illuvials will require actual energy while flying and jetpack "energy" is replenished when touching the ground.
Yes, you will be able to run around indefinitely in the area until you open the entire pack of Illuvials/resources that your starting energy allows you to open.

There is no day night cycle

The goal from the start with the method we are using in UE4 was always to finish each region with 1 lighting style and over time add a second if necessary or if it adds something cool.

Unfortunately this is one of the main drawbacks of UE4, no realtime GI but swapping to UE5 is a mountain I'm not prepared to climb with the team. Too many unknowns and possible game breaking bugs

They are expected to be able to work as at least a mid-level person with raw enthusiasm. It's actually math that SHOULD have been done easily, but instead of mapping it out ahead of time, I said "I will be able to figure it out so let's just pick what affinities and classes feel right" and then it turned out I was too stupid. So there are some that are a bit rarer. But remember with augments, bonding, and weapons, you should be able to hit max stacks of everything once set 1 is fully released.

Well it’s an interesting balancing act because things shouldn’t be so rare that they make it cost-prohibitive to play competitively. Realistically I think that the biggest drivers of rarity will be the holo/dark holo rather than any particular illuvial being too rare.

Well the way they have it setup for ranked as long as the stage 1 isnt crazy rare then they can definitely make some of the stage 3s very rare since it wont be inaccessible to use either way.

If you have played Pokémon games before, you are basically able to capture unlimited amounts of Pokémon. The thing is you only want to focus on catching the most unique/perfect stat ones. I think it will be the same with Illuvium. You will want to focus on catching illuvials with strong stats as well as holos to make the shard costs worth it. It’s still possible to make money by getting lucky. I played Diablo 3 at launch when they had a real money auction house. You could sometimes get lucky and get a rare drop that would sell for good amounts of cash. I think it will be the same here if you encounter a rare Illuvial or holo

The idea of driving value to the actual NFT Illuvials is based on the longevity of the game and expansion of playerbase through multiple titles. Been thinking what it is exactly that I don't like about the current brain cap and I think for me it's the size. If you imagine how the brain would further extend into the body from what is visible at the cap, the resulting brain seems too small for the head while the official reason that it is visible should be that it's too big for the head, right? There should definitely be some premium-only emotes (like the ones on opensea right now). I just think locking absolutely everything behind a pay-wall will put off the majority of mainstream gamers. The characters need a custom animation as well a procedural way to spin and swirl them like in the trailer.

My idea is to replicate the trailer as much as possible, so they are Idling, then start floating/spinning then fuse, then finally come out and do their taunt, just like how Axodon came out at the end and roared.

It's the same reason we're trying to replicate the gun mechanics and zoom in from the trailer too.
I fucking hate when trailers showcase stuff and then in game it's completely different. You can't obviously do everything exact but moments like that you need to correlate them.

I hope that catching illuvials is made to be fucking hard core! 🙏🏻 And is there plans for them to resist and or fight the warrior trying to catch them? As in are they thought of being Tame or Wild in their own environment ?
And do some of the illuvials* ever go Ferrell and attack their own kind / or have wild traits that sometimes back fire on the player? ie if you whip a horse too much they are gonna buck or kick .
