Yeah, but come on - first of all, if you soak all in by yourself and have no middlemen between the team and battle-cries spamming the chat with the same stuff, then it’s the team's job to isolate themselves from it, especially if you are CTO of such a team - putting your head down and getting things delivered instead of trying to avoid mentioning it in the hopes that we will forget about the talks which resulted in the weeks of discourse!

Zero players have been very demanding and toxic in the past what has lead to some team members leaving. What are you talking about? No one promised them weeks after. 2-3 months was the promise. Yes we are trying to get them in faster, and I will be incentivising the team to do so but don't just make stuff up.
I don't understand this notion of "No talk of Illuvium Zero". We've just passed an IIP so it is no longer delayed. We're giving you guys airdrop points for playing. Yes, some features won't be in at launch, but you knew that. The only thing that maybe gets in before July launch is blueprints, but even that is going to be a stretch. But again, that hasn't changed from the IIP. We cannot miraculously work faster, that team is averaging 12 hour days at the moment and is close to burn out.

Tthose mutated plants grant you dye's in the affinity they have if you harvest them.
Dye's are needed for the skin crafting process, made with blueprints.

It really does make things difficult though. There are a LOT of people out there that can suspend their disbelief about being the 'true king of Ooo' when there are also 20000 other 'true kings'. They want that single player experience even in an MMO. Time will tell if us not going down that route works out well. It will definitely take time to flesh it out. We're here for the long game.
I will say though: In Illuvium, as a player you'll find out that you're special. But not in the way that you think. Nor will it do you any good at all.
And if you find something special, then guess what, only you will own it.

I usually prefer more adult series, but the main storylines don't really have much that would put it up that high. There is potential for anything, especially for one part of the story, but we would have to see. First let's see how you guys like this. It's always tough to tell how it will hit.

It absolutely doesn't have that sort of a vibe. There are many ups and downs. It just doesn't have a lot of stuff that could push it towards R for example. That wasn't by design, it just sort of came out of the story. We could add it, but I think sometimes the story tells itself. I'd say it's more like Avengers in adult content?

The cinematic intro is completely its own thing. It doesn't reuse any other shots. But many of the shots in this trailer came from that cinematic, so don't expect the cinematic intro to be entirely new.

Thoughts on the trailer: Graphics were epic 10/10. Leviathan reveal epic!! Loved the song choice. Voice acting was top tier. Loved the overall vibe of the story/tone. I like where the story is going directionally and how that can setup some great gameplay! Maybe we fight these dudes trying to catch us in open world. I loved how the Illuvials were portrayed as mysterious and elusive.
Area to improve: facial animations did not seem to fully express the emotions that they were experiencing. If possible, doing facial animations based on facial capture of the voice actor would improve this. The opening lines felt a little stereotypical, but it got better quickly imo.

What clues do we have that she is from illuvium?
Well she's the only ranger we've seen without a helmet on in the OW. Clearly she has no problems breathing the atmosphere.
She intuitively knew how to activate the obelisk and escape. We know the Valian have no knowledge of this tech as they believed she was trapped on sanctum.
Not only did she know the planet was illuvium by sight. She also knew the ship's scanner was wrong in claiming it was dead.
Then there's the cloaked dude in crystal. He knows who she is. He knows her fate is tied to illuvium somehow. Perhaps he was the one that brought her to live among the Valian, knowing one day she'd return

I really like the thought that has been put in to this. There are quite a few things as you unfold the story that will seem one way, and then turn out to be something different. One of my biggest fears has been "what if I accidentally have a plot hole somewhere that makes people think something that isn't true".
I think in those circumstances, if they come up, I'll let you know. That is of course if I can see there is some big plot hole that has lead you down the wrong path. But I'm not sure. Maybe I won't.
But I can say there are a lot of theories that are really cool. Maybe cooler than the actual story? We'll see. 🙂

Illuvials are all based off our extinct animals but are also different. At some point did a faction of the Valain save the animals (earth had a catastrophic event) or genes or something and take them to Illuvium. That's the thing that if only they knew - that there is life - animal life on Illivium. Species that they thought were lost forever actually aren't.🤔

I don't mind the odd plot hole or put another way leaving aspects of a character unexplained and shrouded in mystery. It allows the audience to endlessly speculate and fans love that sort of thing.
The original Dr Who is a great example. His origin was never fully explained so it was up to the audience to create a back story. Modern writers can't seem help but spoon feed us everything these days though which is a real shame imo. They decided we needed the "timeless child" episode that ruined decades of speculation and intrigue around Dr Who 🙄.

This isn't just an illuvium issue. You'll find lip syncing issues in most games. My guess is it's incredibly difficult and resource intensive to get perfectly right. The team likely settled on "good enough" in order to stick to deadlines imo.

A plot hole, at least to me, is something in the story that makes it wrong in some way. There are definitely gaps in our story where you guys can fill in with your best guess. (We have a lot of backstory but we don't tell it all)
My issue is more that I might write something that just makes something else wrong. I mean it's probably not possible to be perfect but hopefully there isn't something glaringly obvious.

This is basically it. We changed the dialogue and didn't want to rerender it all for the sake of one small thing. Hopefully it didn't distract from it too much. End of the day we have to look where resources are best used. It's tricky to focus on this stuff when we have the community wanting other things and they don't really see this until it's done.
What I can tell you is that we have more of those planned, and I think we will do a better job going forward.

No. Ai is still terrible at writing. It is sometimes ok at offering rewording suggestions. But mostly I think it sucks.

They would work for quick death matches though, just you, an opponent and 3 illuvials in each team. Scatter weapons around and use the collapsing dome to force teams towards the obelisk. Unreal Tournament meats Hunger Games meets Illuvium.

That sounds fun too. As long as it's fast paced (10-15 min matches). Although if you have to find them then I don't see how illivial ownership plays into this. I was thinking everyone could put together a selection of 10 illuvials they own and RNJesus would give you a random 3 out of the 10. So it's your random 3 vs the other guys random 3, and a selection of weapons are scattered around that you have to collect. Both have 6 min to collect then the dome starts to collapse giving you another 6 min. Free2play would have a free starting deck so they have a chance to win as well. Battle passes could be integrated with this mode.

It'd be another on ramp mode like gauntlet. Another way to introduce new players to content that would otherwise cost money. Modes like these are essential in converting web2 players to web3 imo.

You could have your illuvials equipped but they start at level 1 and getting kills grabbing loot and gear etc can level em up and fuse/evolve through various means. I wrote up a general combat system idea for overworld that would mesh kinda well in feedback
Not to mention an idea for some fun illuvial weapons later down the line.
It would be a fun take on a moba too tbh having all your illuvials fighting and leveling up with your ranger
