Rewards from staking have to be manually claimed and GAS fees for those transactions have to be paid:

• When you stake ILV yield farming rewards start piling up for you
• You claim those rewards whenever you deem the pile to be big enough to justify gas fees
• If you claim sILV2 you have it unlocked right away (sILV2 is only usable in game as a substitute currency for ETH outside the marketplace and the Leviathan Arena)
• If you claim ILV then that batch of ILV gets locked for 12 months and automatically staked in the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding effect
• New rewards start piling up....rinse and repeat

NB: ILV paid out as part of Illuvium’s Revenue Distribution have to be claimed as well but are not subject to a locking period.

Yep, you can search a lot of info out there, illuvination, tsg has some nice infos about it, you can masterize really fast

Just notice, the main difference is that a right type water vs fire, doesnt gives instantly benefits, you can check left side of life bar, it goes green sometypes, its affinity, when you have a good affinity match (1 water vs 2 fire) that bar fills faster, and yours illuvials gets benefits, attack speed, and etc, depends on type of it

1 Honestly, only association I have with land sales are cash grabs. 2 It makes me scared of the P2W aspect. Dude over there payed 500$ for land with access for more resources, blueprints, and creatures. As opposed to the guy willing to drop 65$ like for any other AAA. 3 How much content will be locked out depending on how much land someone has.

As a Land owner, honestly it does feel like a cash grab but for myself 😂 In reality all the money made from the land sale is being distributed to the ILV token stakers, so no cash grab at all.

In general the Illuvium economy is the fairest economy I've seen to date. There are no pre sales of Illuvials or other assets that will be needed to play the game. So someone coming with just those $65 should be able to buy the fuel needed to go play, capture some illuvials, and trade them to earn, effectively monetizing it's time.

On the land side, you can be someone who buys lots of land plots, but you will not earn income from it unless you play it, in the case of whales, they will have to rent it to that little guy who comes to play with no money, and so with no initial investment, he or she will be able to play the game for free, AND earn. This is the reason I believe this economy the be the best balanced in the whole space.

Yeah it's going to be interesting to see how this works. Not just for illuvium though, for all web3 gaming. Everyone wants the value of their nft to go up. Most people don't want to play p2w though. So how will those things get balanced? In theory I think Illuvium has an interesting idea. It will be fun to see how it actually plays out

yeah for sure, but I think holding the token is different reward mechanism than owning the land. Success of the game and value of the token are pretty 1:1 correlated I would think. Tying the value of the land to the price of fuel essentially is interesting. Mostly because you can't have the price of fuel get too high you'll price people out. Keep the price of fuel artificially low and the price of the nft drops.

price of fuel is limited within a certain range... so if the price of fuel is $1 for example, then the price will not be able to get higher than $1.25 and it wont be able to fall below $0.75

its limited to 25% change in either direction

but then what if we see a huge spike in demand for fuel? how will this demand for fuel be met? 95% of fuel is produced by the DAO anyways and 5% is produced by land, so if there is a large increase in demand for fuel then Land and the DAO will both begin producing more fuel

Land owners will certainly benefit from increased demand for fuel not just because its price will grow closer to its higher bound but also because land owners will begin receiving more fuel for the same amount of work... (if this was not the case then Land would be unable to capture the 5% of in-game revenue from fuel that its supposed to receive)

Slight clarification. Only the Dao would produce more fuel if it goes above the threshold.

We can’t update the game instantly to add new mechanics or adjust prices.

However spikes can be dealt with easily:

Council adjusts the variance, allowing price to fluctuate by a larger percentage.

This allows land holders to make the right percentage and buys time to do longer term fixes such as price adjustments in game.

Personally I prefer a system with no rails long term, with everyone being vigilant on pricing. As something gets high we adjust it by changing the values of in game actions.

if only the DAO increases its production above the threshold then let it continue doing so until Land Game is updated to produce more fuel

all of the extra fuel that the DAO sold that cut into Land Owners rightful 5% of that revenue could then be airdropped to Land Owners based on their rightful share of it, maybe in the form of ETH or maybe in the form of "you have hit a particularly rich vein of fuel and have extracted an additional x amount of x fuel" type of mechanic maybe

thats just my suggestion, obviously theres a lot there back end wise I cannot speak to and my idea might be too complicated

just that if we say in-game fuel prices have 25% bars on them and then suddenly we extend those bars or remove them all together (even temporarily) then that might be a bit jarring for players, especially any mainstream players we've onboarded imo

The only thing we need to be careful of is changing large game mechanics to handle a tiny spike.

Arbitrage traders should be able to able to handle most spikes. Its a pretty straightforward trade to buy when its low and sell when its near the peak since its rangebound.

I can agree with the general principle that the more success the game sees, the higher the price the land will be worth in theory. Mostly because more people playing the game will mean the land becomes a scarcity (like the value for other nfts).

I guess what I'm getting at is, if you can make $5 each day with the fuel you sell you feel like your land is worth a certain amount. If you can make $10/day it might be worth a bit more. But if I understand the economy right, you'll never be able to make that $10/day because the price of fuel will never rise that much. Which in turn seems to mean the price of the land will hold pretty steady, and not go up.

Does that seem correct? Or crazy? Like I said I'm interested to see how this plays out, cause I can't think of anything else quite like this. It's cool!
