Yeah, fuel is required to play the paid content in Illuvium, and future titles, so it has to be unlimited. There are rules dictating how much gets produced, but land will always make fuel

You want to compare sILV2 to ILV and ILV to ETH. Inside of the Illuvium ecosystem (meaning for the land sale) sILV2 is pegged to ILV, meaning it's the ILV price that matters. But since sILV2 is trading on the secondary market for less than ILV, that's why it's cheaper to use sILV2 since the difference (currently ~30%) is just free additional purchasing power.

The biggest mistake people make in NFTs is they get caught up in FOMO in both directions, they overextend because they see a rising floor, and they sell because they see a falling one. But when it comes to investing, as long as you enter for the correct reasons: conviction in the team, project, & direction, you shouldn't care about the floor unless something material changed about the latter. It's a volatile space, if you get caught up chasing floors you'll inevitably get wrecked. But before all else, you should have a single penny invested that you're afraid to lose.

The problem is the FOMO of the space breaks perspective, in every other industry success is viewed in years, here "keep hoping and hoping" can refer to hours, days, weeks. I think the fuels and elements are all pretty common but some regions they are more likely to occur than others. But for someone wanting to build a portfolio of land to make sure you have all elements and fuel covered it's nice to see what each plot has on the secondary market as opposed to minting for a discount with silv2 and rolling the dice.
