The first chart "Primary" are the five base affinities and base numbers.

But the "Twin primary" chart have double primary affinity of same type.

So that means double effective but also double as vulnerable compared to the five base primaries.

For instance:
fire is +2 on nature. Inferno (fire+fire) is +4 against nature = double as strong/effective

Fire is -2 against earth. interno (fire+fire) is -4 against earth. = double as vulnerable.

So twin affinities can be very effective against something but it can also be very vulnerable/weak

Correct, each player comes to the battle with their own deck and STATS on the Illuvials will actually matter. So this is where the min/maxers will shine... and likely Whales too, assuming the Illuvials with the best stats will be listed for high prices on the market.

In the Ascendant Arena (Ranked PvP), all of those stats are normalized so your Rhamphyre is the same as anyone elses Rhamphyre, stat-wise.

from what i heard when you capture an illuvial in the overworld they have stats that vary from good and bad but i dont think you can change said stats

Correct! If details from some of the early early discussions still hold true, you can capture Illuvials in a Tier 0 region for example... but you may want to level them up before tackling a Tier 1 region.

And for fusing... say you're trying to get a Rhamphyre and you have caught 3 Rhamphy. It was stated that you need to level each of those Rhamphy up (to max level or a certain threshold, I'm not sure), before you can fuse them into a Rhamphite. Then same would go for 3 Rhamphite to get to Rhamphyre.

I actually prefer it like this. I would rather play harder decks where everyone collectively progresses only a few rounds rather than a bunch. You get more play throughs this way and everyone’s skill level is still portrayed relatively

At least, in the real game, We wont need to hunt for Stage 3 illuvials to play this mode. Stage 1 will be usable as Stage 3 in our deck. So, it is easier to be on a equal level to even people paying tons of money

IMO a lot of it comes down to where you want the main competitive elements to exist. If that's Ranked, it makes sense for Ranked to have the most equalization, so player skill is the ultimate decider. If that's Survival, it makes sense for Survival to have the most equalization.

It's not bad. Removing incentive to own Stage 3's does have implications though. Right now we're looking at Leviathan and Overworld as the only places where owning a super juicy Stage 3 matters. Stage 3's are more important than just their direct power, they also contribute to the burning of Stage 1's through Fusion, so removing reasons to obtain them has implications across the board.

Without accessible resources for ranked play, games don't have a competitive scene. Illuvium will make decisions based on how much they value the gameplay loop or competitive play. Gameplay loop and competitive play are opposite ends of a seesaw

That's not a complete view of the situation IMO. Travel fees will be a big driver of revenue, and having burn mechanisms for Stage 1's is good incentive to continue to engage in travel cycles.

It's not ONLY the scarcity aspect from the perspective of an NFT buyer/flipper, it affects overall revenue, and thus all ILV holders.

I also think it's unfair to frame the argument as "Game vs. Profit". The two are deeply intertwined, and people making arguments for no equalization in Survival aren't necessarily just gunning for profits. There are fun gameplay implications to powering up your team over time.

I think it's important to think about what happens when we hit a saturation point though. Almost all games where you "cap out" incorporate some kind of burn mechanism. Think Disenchanting cards in Hearthstone, or Salvaging in D3. Relying on infinite player growth to bolster the value of Stage 1's isn't a viable long term model, and AFAIK was a big reason Fusion is a mechanic. It's also a good argument for Illuvials to be burned to create skins IMO. Regardless of how big Illuvium can get, there will be a point in every set of Illuvials where people get saturated, and have the team they want, and there needs to exist reasons to continue wanting to get more. I do think the team has done extremely well designing for that though.

Yup, I understand. It's the difference (since you mentioned D3) of building a base version of every set for a class, and building an ancient version with caldesaans for every set. One is accessible, obtainable for people with limited time. One takes a lot longer, more commitment, and keeps grinders busy for longer. I'm just saying having a mode where that commitment to building a perfect team matters is important. In D3, it would feel really bad if you sunk 800 hours into a single character, and got equalized in all competitive ranked modes to someone with 17 hours.

I'm also not advocating for all modes to exist in that framework, it makes perfect sense to me for Ranked to have a low-ish barrier to entry.

I've been studying this actually. And for most unit, Energy armor is almost equal to Physical armor. Only one unit has something worth mentionning. You really should attack the dash line with Physical damage and not energy damage
