The first 500 selected for the beta test weren't required to have it as the test was primarily based on PC specs, as far as I know. This recent selection was just a nice "surprise" from the team to allow 500 Rangers in. As someone else mentioned, the current beta is for Illuvium Arena survival mode. (not Illuvium Zero)

However, I can give you the basics more or less.
Some fuels/resources will be used to build / upgrade buildings in Illuvium Zero
One fuel will be used for travel in Illuvium Overworld
One will be used to create the shards needed for capturing Illuvials in the overworld

Elements increase the fuel output of a certain type of fuel by x%

In the future these fuels may be used for other things for other upcoming Illuvium games

Actual fuel production depends on the land's location, tier, and how it is built. Some people may build for more research / blueprint / crafting focused, while others may focus more on optimizing fuel output.

I could be wrong about this but I think all the characters on the board have an ‘order’ that is cycled through when they are making decisions like whether to move or attack or use omega.
Everything executed at the same time on the board but it helps prevent logic conflicts to determine what the characters do one at a time.
For example if orders were issued simultaneously then 2 illuvials could attempt to move into the same space.

The way I understand it, the emails are just a link to the illuvium.io site and then the beta section

So if we were already approved by the dev team and 'added' then we should just need to go to illuvium.io and log in

But there must be another step to that process.
