Iilluvium the main game is not a pure FTP game. there is a FTP area called T0 . however to access T1- T5 there will be recurring travel and equipment fees . The official and specific prices and economics are not yet known

In terms on when you can earn from it yes. When the land sale happens, those who bought some will be able to play in the beta for IZ. When Open beta is made public for the main game. Most of the data is wiped for IZ (besides blueprints) and everyone will start at a level playing field.

I played for 3 hours. Its definitely fun, for now at least. The waves arent randomized, which means you always fight the same dudes on every different wave, which means less replayability... but playing around with different sinergies and positions on the board compensates that flaw (in my opinion). Tho having the same enemies show up on the different waves means you can prepare for them... I guess thats part of the design
