ILV is a governance DAO token. sILV is used to be able to pay most game fees related to paying. ETH is the normal currency. You stake ILV to earn more ILV or sILV. Staked ILV provides share of redivs… which is free that people pay to pay the game, paid in more ILV. I am personally stalking ILV but it is whatever you want to do.

1. I don't want to encourage people to endlessly mint and catch these for the hope of future value. Will just mean a significant amount of extra pressure on IMX.
2. We use them during the tutorial, if we swap out the T0, we'd have to update the tutorial each set which is extra work for limited gain.
3. By having them unchanging we ensure that community tutorials/guides for new players don't go 'out of date'
4. Makes it easier to make them iconic, if we don't have to update/replace them

When you travel to a region you have a certain amount of energy. That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

Exactly. And I'm wondering if its even possible to interact with the contracts then because if so that would open a lot of risks. But if Kieran and Co actually put another two years lock on theirs, I do find the idea intriguing to allow others to go for 2 or 3 years as well and then simply add to their token weight.
