Depends on the situation. $200k once means you could pay yourself 40 months the $5k you otherwise would have guaranteed per month for a much longer time. Looking at this, easy to pick the guaranteed $5k. But in a situation like now for example (or at even better numbers like the average of $50 I bought into here) I probably would chose the $200k. Buying $ILV at $50 for $200k will for sure (at least I'd be convinced) give me a lot more than $5k per month only. Without a good investment I'd be willing to bet guaranteed $5k per month on though, obviously pick the $5k, in my opinion.

Where do you get this from? With those numbers I get a much higher revshare. With 500k players and $20 each that would be a monthly revenue of $10m (which is WAY below Axie atm just as a side note). We currently have ~650k $ILV in circulation. No way that all of them will be staked. Let's go high in staking numbers (I expect less the first months) and say 3/4 ~487k of those are staked. Thise would mean that each of those staked $ILV gets ~$20 of those $10m monthly revenue.

If we ignore November/December as "game is being launched" (although some revenue for sure will come in already) and start looking at January 2022 then we would have 3.5m Seed/Team tokens, ~980k Paid Out Yield Farm Tokens and ~490k (estimated 75% of circulating supply as staked) eligable for revenue. This puts us around 5m tokens and thus requires $10m as monthly revenue for those $2 per $ILV per month.

They have a enormous bottleneck right now where players want to play but the barrier to entry is too high (somewhere near $1200) you reduce that to $0 and players will go up by 10x in a week IMO (as long as it doesn’t ruin their economy - which it would). Hence why we are spending so much time on balancing the economy, and the tier 0 illuvials. We don’t have that same barrier to entry
