Being Christians this was actually something my husband and I discussed before investing in gaming. The fact that anything dopamine related can result in darkness as people chase it into self destruction

At the same time, that is not the primary purpose of gaming, not everyone who games is destroyed by it, and I hope that the Illuvium team's intention is to give us something fun not destroy us.

I had an alcoholic father who tried to kill me. "Murdered" my doll instead. I know how addiction of an adult still affects children first hand. I also don't blame alcohol for his behavior. Trying to be careful how I phrase this as I know the rules on religion here, but let's just say I feel we all have weakness that can be exploited by something dark but, I also think we have personal responsibility. Still i hate seeing people fall to them like what you describe. It is heartbreaking.

If Illuvium went full on gambling or ends up with a really dark storyline I would rethink my investment. What I liked about Illuvium initially is it seemed to be a game interesting for adults but without a lot of the garbage that many of the games that are out now have. It felt like a game a family could play and we have seen that happening.

I personally believe that an actual market starts to form for authenticity gaming simply by some cohort of players rejecting the phasic dopamine maxxing. While its a very powerful tool, overuse tends to numb, opening the way for the more "healthy" tonic dopamine. It wasn't a scam. It's an investment with probability to do well or not do well. The truth of it is, is Zero always required the rest of the ecosystem to do well, to thrive in itself. That's something any person buying land would know, if they researched what they was investing in.

Saying it's a scam, implies the team rugged, they did not. It's simply just a crap period, and expectations for the prodcut wern't met as of yet - but it's time will come.

I'd suggest you think more about your investments, if you think that them going down, is a scam

The game still exists, can still be played, can still reap some sort of return (even if that is very small for the time being)

Outside of some leaderboard chase (which is just rewards given out again, not really ecosystem focused) it's only real purpose right now is for blueprint minting. However, Skins are not a big enough attraction to warrant people caring enough.

I'm sure as the MMO fleshes out, it'll be tied into the whole game loop a lot more impactfully; one would hope at least. Perhaps somethign to dow ith a specific burn mechanic etc... I dont really know.

Hi @restive mist just saw the first part of the Townhall back and I want to thank you for the transparency in the first 30 minutes! I'm new in Illuvium but not in crypto gaming, and auditor/Finance professional as profesion and for me 2025 was crazy year! I'm coming from BigTime/OL and have seen a lot of stuff there with Moonfrost coming and leaving, but of Worldshards (was suppose to be second BigTime). For me the most problem with most Web3 gaming is that there is no vision or lack of financial background so games are destroyed as they don't pay attention enough to the financial part of making/sustain a good game in cyrpto world and suddenly funds dry out! So again respect that you upfront realized that things needed to change, and of course we all hope that 2026 will be better but as management of a Crypto Game you can't bet on that for survival!

For community members that are against pay to earn, or risk to play:

• The biggest problem is that most of web3 players are not (yet) playing the games just for fun and are willing to spend money without return = biggest difference with web2 gaming where players are willing to spend without expecting any returns!
• This big difference brings a problem for development team of the game as they need continue revenue for up keep costs + extra to develop the game further otherwise is the end for the game.......
• It's not 2020 - 2021 anymore and even not 2025 anymore, so while I still believe in free to play, pay to earn those concepts are as single entry outdated to my opinion. That means to my opinion risk to play will be more implemented and with that (yes more gambling) but with that the house (development team/game) can take a part. Not saying it should be only play to risk but if you ad that as extra/ on top it will attract other players as well (especailly Asian community) and of course it still can coexist all together what should add gameplay to the game. For example the Arena game can facilitate all 3 concepts:
• Free to play (really based on skils and the RNG 😛 ) perhaps have still LB but then give out Illivials as prices
• Pay/own to earn current system
• Play to risk and that is current discussion I think that you win something from other player! I have played this before with "Four" was BNX (Binary X) and that worked as crazy as Asian community really likes this and not only them as it's kind of POKER but then gaming. With that you can upload for example ILV token on your Illuvials or just need to pay entry fee in ILV and top 5 get return and 5% fee of price money is going to team/Game! But this should be on top of the play to earn and the free to play to my opinion.

Like Drach said, it is to increase the amount of raffle ticket entries you get from completing Arena games.
The real 'final' reward is the battleboard really, but the double raffle tickets is put at 3k as an additional style reward for anyone who keeps playing or really wants to grind it for their bonus chance of winning the Cash rewards on the Raffle draws

It's not intended to get further up in the battlepass faster - it's there to provide faster raffle entries

Your Sear has a higher level so I would try aiming a bit higher

The holo finish is harder to get.
Anyways, its way lower than i would expect.
A holo sear with lower stats is up for 6k
I assumed at least 3k for mine.

yeah, just keep arena as is, would obviously have been best, but I could understand if it was changed to "fuel only rewards" for some time, and tournaments would be where you earn the main rewards.

I just got 4 new Illuvials I was planning to level up a bit, while also playing some more Arena during the Christmas days. so will probably also go check out Steam, or play a bit more of the D4 season instead.... (maybe try out that Expedition 33, that's a good suggestion 🙂 )

Why does Beyond still get rewards if nothing else does? (Zero fuel burn doesnt count as it isnt a LB prize). It made sense when everything else was F2P but Arena is a pass and OW runs are paid for. Now it doesn't make sense to me. Why is it special?

Why does Illuvium have to either do big or nothing? Why not give fuel? Giving a little free fuel would entice people to spend more which is what we want.

Hopefully it will all make sense to me in the New Year.

In the meantime I am still going to try to get Lars to Level 60 in 2025.

I made sure I collected my IMX Gems every single day, without fail, for prolly 6 or 8 months. I held IMX to get more Gems per claim.. Hopeful that would be something good.. and it's early access to crappy games. What a waste. That was hours of my life, and hundreds of logins, etc.. I told myself I won't do that again. I am not investing my time and effort into secrets anymore. I want to know exactly what I am getting into.

I've heard the same. I started my vibe code with gpt 5. And it had it's problems. But gpt 5.2 with extra heavy thinking has been slow but deadly accurate.

Half the time I prompt then do something else for 15 minutes then come back and do the next prompt.

it definetly lowers the excitement of all other stuff you did to have a strong battlegroup, since the difference between a strong and a weak group is more or less just you have to parry more or less often 😄
