depends on your progress. But you can harvest and mine also in tier 3 region. There you can find the best uncured shards. But the bettles are realy hard at the beginning with just 4 or 6 Illuvials. A hint for hunting equip a weapon to your ranger in the inventory. if you press g when hunting illuvials makes your weapon more powerful.

Sometimes in stage 3 , you scan the thing and you see 12 illuvials that you simply can't beat with your current deck. why waste 650 energy and time, when you can go on to the next... I guess that's the point of scanning. Also, seeing if any of the illuvials are worth capturing

Yes. Press i for inventory and go to obtained tab. There you can see what you have obtained in the current run. You can also check the resources tab and shards to see if you have from previous runs any shards

You mean the t0? The t0 shards dont need to be cured. They are obtained only on t0 runs and can capture only t0 illuvials. Anything above t0 needs to be cured at forge. You only get uncured shards from rocks

No. The heat map shows where you find more resources, illuvials, plants. You can get shards from every rock but the ones that are more green-ish have more chances for shards i believe. The red-ish ones have more chances at gems for weapons, and the white-is ones have more chances at ore. But they all ca give shards
