It would be ideal if the closed beta participants received a worthy reward, but for the open testing, there should be a complete reset so that everyone would be on equal terms. The Illuvials caught in the closed beta should not affect the points in the open beta. (To avoid any questions about my bias, I'll mention that I am a beta tester. I have played many hours, submitted numerous bug reports and suggestions for game improvements, and caught many Illuvials.)

If you get points for everything you gather/capture then pb4 participants get a big advantage. They get to start capturing higher tier things while others have to climb the tiers. Assuming you get points for all captures/gathering

There was no hidden information. The original points where going to all 10k accepted into PB4. Then they saw a lot of duplicate accounts and accounts that never even downloaded and decided to make a small threshold required to ensure actual people were getting the reward.
