So that's the "getting started" bit

But it's like any other game with microtransactions

If you want to travel to a far region for example, it might cost a dollar

easiest way to explain it is think of a F2P game with microtransaction, but instead of stupid crap u cant do anything with, u get nfts that u own and control

If you want to own metaverse land, and make actual dollars selling NFTs from that land,.then you will need to spend big on buying one of the available plots (there are only 20,000)

As there are currently 1.5 million people waiting to play the game, the 20,000 metaverse land plots are super in demand

You can buy land play illuvium zero beta, I'd say land is the biggest investment. As far as I understand the team have made so it's affordable. Less than Play an MMO like world of warcraft or eso ect.
I see blockchain gaming as play to have fun and own. It's up to you how you go about the economics of it.

So that dollar that you spend getting to a far away region, you are spending it on Fuel. Fuel is produced by the Sim City land

But then again, you can play the Sim City land game without buying any land at all

You dont need to own land to play though. You can just pay for fuel with ETH and still earn NFTs in the overworld and play in arena. Land is a mostly separate thing that just allows you to generate some fuel that you can use to pay fees.

Yeah, you can play in the Overworld for free and go catch the Pokemons. They can be sold for real money

Land will be less profitable than shares.

If youre mostly interested in Arena or Overworld youre probably better off just saving the $600 you could spend on a land and use that to pay for fuel instead of generating it yourself.

Owning land is actual work. I don't like work unless it's volunteering and unpaid

March 7th is the Illuvitar sale, totally separate from arena and overworld. Illuvitars are collectible and customizable images of illuvials that you can use as profile pictures in the games once it releases. They also give some collection bonuses for filling out certain collections but they arent ingame assets that you use in the arena. Thats Illuvials.
