If I were to take a guess at potential weaknesses it has to be the crypto side of it... things like the price of fuel, too negative a stigma against nfts to adopt mainstream and have the dev team got enough share of the eco system to keep themselves running and growing (they only hold 10-15% of ILV)

Right now, Overworld "borrows" from Illuvium: Arena for combat but there has been mention of having the battles exist in the Overworld itself in the future (similar to Monster Hunter mechanics)

In earlier games, trading between people was discouraged. Illuvium will encourage people to do so in a similar fashion as what happened with Axie infinity. That game was a ponzi, was garbage and didnt continue with their top-revenue per month. Bút they peaked at 200M in a single month.
Illuvium is not a ponzi, does not only take revenue from trades but also incentivise teambuilding, buying Illuvials skins and such to increase your strength when playing the game.

The arena game is a next level version of teamfight tactics that had 33M players per month at one point. Removing some R&G from the game and increasing the amount of strategies will likely hook at least a clump of these players.
Add-in that you can use those assets in the overworld and showcase them in Illuvium Zero, and you get a whole deeper meaning to the assets which may increase traction further.

This is just the bull-side of things.

Bearish scenario imo: People dont understand how to play the autobattler and get frustrated by the complexity, they get rekt and leave because 1. Their computer cant handle the game 2. it is not on the phone and 3. The game is far from long-term engaging other than the pvp arena 🙂 (the engagement will likely change in the upcoming months :))

Tutorials and guidance via the in-game UI will likely be a thing. But when it comes to alpha/beta testing, the tutorials are not present since they are not the focus. That's why many get frustrated with the Arena beta... but I'm sure that will be rectified by the time Open Beta comes out and you start from ground zero with everyone else.

Non crypto people will have nothing to do with the crypto side of things. All marketing will be done in 2 ways, crypto=yes and crypto=no. You will get a non-custodial wallet and through playing the game you will easily be led to maming your own wallet and buying/selling NFTs while you dont even know that you are selling them.

there no offical specs right now because we are in beta, and a lot of optimising is coming. but for overworld right now you need min. a 1060 i think.
