3. Under the "Allow apps downloaded from" section, if "App Store and identified developers" is selected go to Step A

4. Click on the lock icon in the bottom left corner to unlock the preferences.

5. Enter your password to unlock the preferences

6. Change the setting to "App Store and identified developers"
   A warning message will appear, saying that "this setting allows apps from any source to be run on your Mac. Apps from the App Store are generally safe, but apps from other sources might not be". Click on "Open Anyway" to confirm that you want to open the app

They are not. All plots are the same in terms of grid size.
As you move up in Tier, you have more sites available on that plot which increase its production.

Costs for the actions in the OW would be in Fuel--
You pay 1000 Crypton to travel to Tier 1, for example (completely making this up).
The Balancer pools set up for each Fuel type would be in place to keep the USD values per fuel token from fluctuating too wildly.

Its always been a game within a game on fuel pricing, hence why the limit in how far fuel prices can vary. travel would always cost "100 crypton," but the market for crypton varies slightly, so some days it may cost $1, some days $1.25, some days $0.75. I need to think about this a little more - as 5% of revenue from fuel bought in Overworld goes to land owners, that does mean it could scale higher as demand goes up. I am more concerned for Overworld adoption as the use case, so not wanting to do anything that impacts that. Having a fixed number of lands and an unlimited growth on Overworld does create a challenge that biases towards land owners. If land owner fuel production doesn't scale with growth, the other factor that could change without breaking the price and lore would be the ratio of land that is provided by the DAO and how that impacts sale price. If not, you're right that the amount of fuel used in overworld would need to vary.

This is more in response to your earlier points. My understanding is that Fuel production will have to vary with Fuel demand, given the other constraints on Fuel. You mentioned that you'd want your land to be worth more if more people are playing. With a goal of 5% of overall Fuel being produced by land, it follows for me that land would have to produce more fuel (numerically) with 10M players as compared to say, 100k players. This is not in conflict with a pegged target price and a range within which Fuel can vary in price from that target price, and it would mean land produces more Fuel (and thus would be viewed as being more valuable) as playership increases.

Say, just for examples sake, that Nov 2025's stats show that 30M Crypton was purchased and utilized for gameplay. Dec 2025's overall Fuel production target could be based on that. If there's a spike or lapse in demand in Dec 2025, that would be handled by the DAO supplying or removing Crypton to the balancer pool. If overall usage for Dec 2025 were 40M Crypton, production would be adjusted accordingly.

This is obviously a simplified and hypothetical scenario, but this is kind of how I envision the system working.

without set prices, greed price out the player base and you'll end up paying 100 dollars for a T1 run until it all collapses.

Imagine paying 15 bucks for a travel on Monday. and then being asked to pay 25 bucks for the same travel on Wednesday.
This seems like a very wide valuation for travel and its still only 25% up and down from a baseline of 20 bucks.

Personally, I'm a fan of having Overworld pricing vary slightly, but be based on a fixed amount of fuel. My real world comparison is what I shared above - gas. Having 25% rails is actually much more fixed cost that real world gas stations, but adds a bit of flavor to the Overworld game as well for when players want to buy a bunch of crypton to fuel future travel

i think @dusty plank explained it best - canonically, it may be most reasonable to apply an adjustment in IZ that all the sudden, efficiency in fuel production is gained, and your extractors now product 50% more fuel units. The price of the fuel unit stays the same, but the amount you generate greatly increases.

Stepping this back to a fundamental level, your concerns seem to be rooted in the scalability of land.

The simple explanation for this is that as active player numbers grow, the amount of Fuel a given plot produces has to grow. If we assume that a maxed out T1 plot is producing 500 units to serve a playerbase of 10k players, that plot would necessarily have to produce 5000 units to serve a playerbase of 100k players.

It would be logical to see this increased production reflected in the price of a plot, given that a unit has a specified range of values for which it can sell.
