but 95+% of people will want their hand held by the game and not want anything to do with stuff like owning your own keys etc

fuel sites are to generate the fuel for overworld game play - once launched.. there are certain elements needed to be used to build different buildings to help generate the selected fuel at a faster rate. different fuels will enable certain interactions in the overworld

feel as though picking the right fuel is based on players gameplay.. but also feel you would need all elements to ensure you are able to build all the buildings needed

Many factors. Each land will produce different resource / fuel, u can only get 2/3 types per land max i believe. Different location will determine more on what they produce. Some users might value certain lands within a big investors megacity area on the chance they expand you can gouge more.
