What is better is a forward looking roadmap with reasonable timeframes and updates when that roadmap changes. The issue in the past is that the team will set a date for something and then wait until 2 weeks after that date to tell the community they are nowhere near where they expected to be.

For some reason a monthly update in Dev Blog is not adequate in some people's eyes. IMO if the website had the roadmap that was updated semi-regularly, then this would address the majority of people's concerns even though it's basically the same. If you think there is a majority who feels this way, then ask Rich to make a poll in governance to measure community sentiment. If it has enough support, then this could potentially help to push the road map on the website to be considered a higher priority work.

IIP wasn't necessary in the end since a simple process was selected to communicate more internal info to the Council. We do at least some marketing for all product releases, even minor ones. This could mean social posts, basic article or video, etc.
