But maybe soon, so prepare yourself by grinding the hell out of T0 (plants for buffs, T0 armor/weaps and exp for your team).

Tough on T0 tbh, you can try selling Gems (yellow stones), especially earth and fire.
But I guess you're a little late for that, anyone can farm it for free after all.

Without any gimmicky plays I like Predator (Grilla, Chuk)/Verdant(Twine/Archeleon) as a cheap starting point, then fill the 8 with other units around archeleon. Try to complete the synergies for these units (e.g. nature, fire, earth, as it fits in with your deck)

If you would have unlocked the next rune then you would have gotten a message. Something like "Partially decoded". If you saw more runes after your run it was another player that unlocked it in between. It is random what player unlocks the next rune. It can be you or everybody else.

Hmmm I'm not quiet updated right now on how to farm points but I think I have a glimpse of what your saying. Could it be that if you are only on lower tier, like tier 0, you can play free? And as you go for higher tier, you need funds because you need to buy more stuff?

Click on your profile, then click Missions and you can see all the quests/milestones available for airdrop points. On Tier 0 you play for free. But the stuff you find also worth a lot less since everyone can grind it for free. The higher tier you travel the better stuff you find on average but it will also cost you more. NFA but I think the airdrop is good now and you can think of it as a significant rebate for your play.

This is why it's hard to give a number, there are many ways to play. If you just collect and don't sell you will need a lot more than if you farm and sell some things, while keep others. I would spend the couple of dollars on supreme gear to begin with. You can farm it for free but it's so cheap I bought it.

Do a few rounds on Tier 0 to practice. Then build a team on stage 1 runs. You can build a decent team for around 20-30 bucks. But if you wanna catch the rare illuvials you might need a couple of hundred dollars to have a good shot.

Just a general feedback (not sure where else to put this): I showed the game to my 11 year old daughter over the weekend. omega is very powerful, so if you can go in with a team against illuvials that speed up your omegas you can do a lot of damage
