I had an issue where it didnt automatically save. So for some reason after making changes I went right into settings and "saved" changes and it worked. Not sure if that is a bug, or if I am the only one that experienced that though 😄

Great to hear the levelling is going to be quicker. I asked Kieran the question on an AMA a few months ago and he said it felt like the levelling balance was good but it definitely didn’t feel so at the time.

Love to hear you’re iterating on it.

My other piece of feedback at the time was that there wasn’t a way of knowing how much the XP had gone up after each battle other than going into your illuvial inventory and having a look.

Not sure if it has already been addressed but a little animation or something highlighting how the XP for each illuvial has changed after each battle would be welcomed.

Funny you should ask that, some of us were having a conversation just today about ways for Illuvials to autonomously gain XP. 🙂
As Aaron said, the design team is looking at improving the XP grind; I can't promise that something like that is coming, but I wouldn't rule it out, either

Don't know Plans of the Team for sanctum mesa.
I always imagined your illuvials (or some chosen ones of your collection) being able to roam arround in sanctum mesa. You could feed them some plants you harvested which triggers a cooldown( illuvial can't be used actively for Like 20h) and during that cooldown time it continuously gains a small amount of exp.
This Way you could train those illuvials which you don't use yet in farming OW, fighting Arena or you just wana lvl up for fusing for skin craftings

Dear all, I have a couple questions:

Will private beta progress be saved?
The more unstable the bubble becomes when capturing illuvials, the harder to catch them? And viceversa?
If you fail to catch an illuvial, can you use another shard in the same combat, or the illuvial flees?
And lastly, can you capture more than 1 illuvial per combat?

-Progress will be reset before Open Beta Mainnet. Between, Private Beta and Open Beta Testnet, not sure.
-I haven't noticed that the capture rate is less as there is less dimensional stability, sometimes I'll catch something on the third try when the number is negative
-When you fail to catch, the shard is not lost and yes you can try to catch again with it. If the illuvial escapes/flees, it will no longer be in the encounter so you cannot try to catch it again.
-Yes you can capture as many illuvial per combat as you have shards and dimensional stability (purple bar/bubble)

It would be cool if someone from the team could confirm if more dimenstional stability increases the capture rate.

If dimensional stability parameter depends only on MP used before the fight or there are other factors involved.
The impact of dimensional stability in general, what's the consequence of it being 50, 1 or -25?

I upgraded my drone to have an Advanced Index Capacitor to allow the addition of 6 Illuvials. I put the Adv Index Capacitor in the drone slot and then added my 6 additional illuvitars to my team. When I leave and go tothe Overworld, it reverts back to not showing the advanced Index capaacito and not shoing the 6 Illuvials that I added. How do I make the additional 6 Illuvial slots stay permanently and not lose them?

Are you going to setting and hitting confirm? I was having the same problem when hitting esc to go back to the game. Also, once you are done using the index cap, first put your illuvials you don’t want back. Otherwise the new drone chip you replace with the index cap will not be added when you do your next run.

Hello, I have fused 9 illuvials together to create a rhamphyre and a sear. However, I am confused as to how the Stats in purple are calculated. When I fused together the lower tier illuvials they had about 3/4 of the purple area covered. After fusing together and creating the Rhamphyre and Sear they now have only a fraction of the purple area covered. Does anyone know what determines the Stats for the newly created illuvial or is it random? Thanks!

Ok, thanks. So, the key is to fuse together illuvials with overlapping stats for the best outcome. I was trying the approach of putting together illuvials that are strong in different areas to try to cover the purple region.

I think you want illuvials that are all rounded, so filling in as much space as possible

This is how it is currently working, it could change for open beta. Currently, with this approach, your end result while fusing will have the greatest variance. If you're extremely lucky, it will be the best of idea and pick all the best stats. If you're unlucky in that fusing however, it might pick all the worst stats (from your picture...something like that occured)

The great news is that this is still practice and now we know more about fusing to make better decisions come open beta 😉

Yeah, but I had a lot of flint caps to help. On all runs I always collect any flint caps I find. Also, the leveling is faster if you grid with the tier 1’s, fuse to tier 2 and then fuse directly into tier 3. Grinding with the tier 2’s is slower.

The problem I encountered was that the tier 2’s require more mastery points to use and you can’t win every fight. By using lower tier illuvials you can put more of them on the board to win more often. I would say that 4 baby lynx can beat many 3 tier 2 teams.

True, that makes complete sense. Often much easier to bring the stage 1 in battles to be efficient with MP.
Did the extra XP from the stage 1s carry over when you fused them. So you could get a fused Rhamphite that's already level 30 or 40 etc?

It looks like level 40 is the minimum for tier 3. Yes, the xp did carry over. The Sear I fused as soon as I could and it’s xp is just over 56,000. The Rhamphyre I fused when the tier 1’s were at higher levels and its current xp is 66,000.

I think the bug occur because of the number of illuvials. I suspect that the code is not consideging those illuvials slots as special and so when a player change the dronechip. It's seems there a default value which is not repected and an error occur.

To by pass it, you need to equip so you have the minimum required for the illuvials stop when pressing Z while in your inventory by pressing I.

This should help you.

1-Remove your illuvials on the bar by pressing Z and pressing I to open you inventory.
2- drag and drop your illuvials until you have the default value of 5 illuvials in your deck.
3-Remove the Index Capacitor Dronechip and remplace it by the one you want.
4- put back your illuvials in your deck.

How Mining Power is working: it’s only applying on Big deposit mine. Allowing you to extract more efficiently.

Exemple: let’s say you normally extract a full deposit mine ( 12 slots ) with 10 extractions so it’s cost you 12 x 100 = 1 200 EE (Ergon Energy).
With some mining power you will do it faster let’s say in 8 extractions.

Mining power only apply to Big deposit mine, I have counted max 3-4 deposit mines per run in stage 1-2-3.

This was in the alpha test (the first patch), when all ores had 10 slots and were not rare. On this patch I compared, and did not see the difference between “with a chip” and “without a chip,” that’s why I asked. Maybe I just wasn't too lucky when I compared.

In the beta, I played with a controller and automatically the analog sensitivity was not high and aiming was tolerable. After the updates, the sensitivity is so high that you can't play on the controller, you literally just lightly touch the analog stick and your aiming point flies 10-20 meters away from the target. As if it was automatically set to the highest possible analog sensitivity. I just can't believe no one has looked at this huge problem yet. How can this be a playable game if people who use controllers to play can't use a controller normally?

We're testing. Data we have suggested it would be better for the player experience and for the economy as a whole if we had them be destroyed on use.

Reasoning being that it creates more interest/suspense when you use a shard and reduces the instances when you no brain capture Illuvials with low tier shards that you don't value. Now you're choosing between risking a shard and deconstructing to make master shards.

It also allows us to be more generous with the shard "payouts" from deposits and to make the curing fees cheaper. Result of it is that you get more reward moments and have more interesting decisions to make.

We hope also reduces the supply of low tier Illuvials slightly to maintain a higher importance on them.

But the end result should be that the cost to acquire "wanted" Illuvials is the same as before the change. Just with some added emotional moments throughout the experience since the stakes are a little higher and we're a little more generous on the loot!

Isn't the chance of capturing illuvials for the same Tier as the shard a bit too low? .. i mean for example Tier 1 shard has about 36% of capturing a lvl 1 Tier 1 illuvial... i mean they're designed for that Tier .. i think the chance should be at least 50% or like the T0 shards about 55%

Everything comes down to emotive rewards vs cost.

So we had it at a higher capture rate prior (roughly 55% on equiv tier) but we found that players expected to be successful on the capture since they usually had 3+ capture attempts, they didn't lose shards and the escape chances were low, so the chances of missing an Illuvial capture was very very slim.

That sucks from a game design POV, if players expect to receive the reward then the emotive payout on doing so is pretty much 0.

So our big capture moment wasn't delivering emotively, and when thats meant to be the biggest emotive moment of the Overworld experience.....

Right now players who win a battle well, should more often than not be successful on capturing their Illuvial of choice. But players that barely win, will often fail to capture the Illuvial.

Don't worry though, we have price targets for the individual illuvials. So when we do things like increase the difficulty to capture and therefore reduce the supply of Illuvials, we get to do things like increase the spawn weights of rarer Illuvials so as to keep the supply quantity the same.

So you'll see more exciting Illuvials more often as a result. Particually when we add the new ethereal Illuvial system in (its not in yet) you should see a tonne more rare Illuvials 🙂

Anyone else having issues traveling through the southern tunnel in Crimson Waste?
For some reason the game doesn't detect most of the ledges as solid ground and drains my energy to zero, making it impossible to jump.

Actually most of Crimson waste is like that, can't travel anywhere east either

I've only had that happen to me once and it was when I'd used all my energy up mining so, I thought it was that that had taken my jump etc away. But I've done it a few more times since then and can't replicate it

Yes. If you get into that you get a flat amount of points. In Open Beta there are quests to complete to earn points. You don't get bonus points for being in PB4 during Open Beta

People have understood that not everyone can play because it is the testing phase. If quelcom ara fails, it will only affect 500 people. Yes I had it for the first few attempts. Tried a couple of hours after first playing and then it just worked. You get 0.1 eth when it does work. It'll come good eventually 👍

That check is based on a couple of factors, but mainly just playing the game. So you won't get it right out of the gate - go do the tutorial, maybe an S0 run or two, and then it should unlock

Yes. I prefer the new system too. In the old system it was very annoying going into an encounter because of 1 Illuvial you want. Then the illuvial runs away on first try and you are stuck with Illuvials you don't want and you leave even though you have energy left. Now it really matters to catch the desired Illuvials first as long as you have enough shards with you. By doing so you can almost guarantee a catch at the cost of maybe some shards. But it feels way better

That's happened to me once or twice. Try restarting the game and see if it puts you in the region or back in SM. Either way though, you should report the bug

I can't teleport to non-level zero locations. there are resources. The teleportation screensaver starts playing and the player gets stuck in the portal

Is the fuel consumed? If it always works for S0 but always gets stuck on the higher ones, it sounds like a fuel issue. I'm probably not the best person to help with that, unfortunately 😦 Try sending a support ticket

Not consumed. I just rebooted it 5 times. shows the fuel balance in the game is 50,000, a glowing teleport screensaver starts to appear, and then this is how the camera moves towards the player in the frame and that’s it. nothing is pressed)))

does not work. B doesn’t have time to submit a bug report. due to the fact that during the teleport everything is probably blocked and this screensaver goes on endlessly. But only when teleporting 1,2,3 to non-fuel ones does everything work)
