Hey Just reaching out to see how your experience has been since you have been playing. Love to hear if you are still having troubles, and provide assistance and understand better how to help players in similar positions.
I will always advocate for reasonable difficulty. especially as you move up in stages. The dopamine high of achieving something would disappear otherwise. And we still want these assets to hold nice value.
It is still a balance of keeping it accessible to a large population of players though.
OW main purpose is still "pack opening" people pay for a certain amount of loot. If you make the amount of loot skillbased, good luck on onboarding the other 80% of total gaming playerbase.
I would say the main purpose is to have fun and gaining illuvials is part of that fun. Like I said there is a balance. We will actively monitor engagement and retention. I think it will be fairly easy to scale difficulty up and down to reach the largest player base possible.

I mean i don't care, but i can't See being healthy for ow if you exclude most children, casuals and 40+ people.
What I mean is there are many levers that the team can use to change the difficulty of the overworld. Finding the balance of difficulty will be an iterative process for sure. But i'm optimistic we will find the right parameters to understand our players and then optimize the game to drive engaged gamers

Make attacking plants hard to beat is not possible, cause then it Results in non skilled player can't Farm at all.
You could probabably hier high Tier loot in places where unskilled Players can't reach them. But thats not really a more loot thing, it's mir a high skilled are faster in looting thing.
So most likely it will get to high Tiers are Hard to catch, because nonskilled can't Beat the encounters.
There are probably more possibilities than that, which i don't think of right now

I think the laptop part has the same 8GB memory as desktop but performance is probably equal to a RTX 3060 desktop.

I was thinking about some kind of system that by completing quests etc you'd be able to obtain some "Bound fuel" which cannot be sold and with that you could travel to higher tier regions but everything you get there is aldo "Bound" to your account so it wouldn't be NFT's that can be traded or sold
In that way they can still enjoy the full experience of traveling to higher tiers (much slower than people who pay for fuel obviously) but they can't just grind it out as a play 2 earn game
So won't affect the economy

these are my specs for the laptop I bought to play 15.6" 144Hz FHD IPS-Type Display, Intel Core i5-10300H Processor, GeForce GTX 1650, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD it plays the game well but I wanna get something more powerful once public launch

I'm in the same boat. Based on other modern games using the same Unreal engine I would say any mid-range Intel or AMD Zen CPU that is less than 4 years old will be fine, Memory of 8GB is now bare minimum, 16GB would be good, 32GB is not needed for the games but can actually be useful for some shared GPU/CPU memory functions so it may be worth looking at 32GB in Laptops to avoid crashes. All this is straight forward but selecting Graphics Cards is tricky because of the out-right misleading way venders name laptop GPU model numbers. An RTX 3070 in a laptop is NOT the same as a RTX 3070 desktop part. It has less physical cores and also lower clock speeds, smaller boost range with more thermal throttling so it is equal to a RTX 3050Ti or maybe a RTX 3060 at best, even though they happily charge "RTX 3070" money... It also does not get better with latest RTX 4060 or 4070 which are "bigger numbers" but are not any bigger in performance than the older models except for raytracing features which is unusable at this level... The good news is RX 3060 & RX 3070 laptops can manage 1080p Ultra settings or 1440p mid to high (fingers crossed) settings. I think you will enjoy Overworld at that level. If you want to play at 4K ultra for maximum eye candy you can't use a laptop and need a big heavy Gaming rig with Nvidia RTX 3090, RTX 4090 or AMD RX 7900 XT good cooling systems, a nearby power station and fire department on constant standby and a line of credit from the bank unfortunately...
For those with laptops that have less than RTX 3070 GPU's and dont want to buy a new computer there may be a hack you can use instead. If your laptop has 2 x M.2 slots for storage you could be in luck. The M.2 connector is really a PCI card slot just like in a desktop and has access to 4xPCIe lanes. You can find M.2 to Occulink converter cables for about $20-$25 on Ali Express with an Occulink connector at the other end. You can then buy these cheap little housings with power supply and a PCIe riser slot that can fit a Desktop RTX 3070 or RTX 3070 Ti cards. Companies like GPD are using this to allow their handheld PC's to connect to an external Graphics dock (Google GPD Win 4 and GPD-1 Graphics docks). Those thinking of USB-4 or Thunderbolt eGPU's will not work as the bandwidth is only 40Gb per second and your games will stutter. You must use Oculink which gives 63 Gbps and can feed a RTX 3070 Ti maximum which is good! The only bad news with this awesome hack is you have to be careful with the order of turning on and off the Laptop and your eGPU... DO NOT JUST PULL THE CABLE!!! This would be the same as yanking a graphics card from a live PC.

Maybe - the Asus website specs page does say that it has a spare PCI slot for upgrading storage although the model you have uses PCIe 3.0 (and not PCIe 4.0) so bandwidth is lower but it would support an e-GPU setup like I described but don't go higher than an RTX 3060 with 8GB memory (4GB more than you currently have in the RTX 1650) and about double the frames per second and because of the extrra memory better texture quality. It would be a good step up. Alternatively you could look at the Indigo-go kick starter for GPD-1 dock that is supplied pre-built and maybe buy the Oculink kit they sell. You just have to ask them if your PCIe 3.0 M.2 slot is supported and figure out how to rout a flat cable out of your laptop in a clean and tidy way. Performance wise it would be pretty good as the GPD-1 comes with a super energy efficient RX 7600 XT with 8GB so it would be equal or slightly better than a full desktop RTX 3060 and would probably be the closest match to your situation. It depends on the cost and if it is viable and still cheaper than a full laptop upgrade - The upside of buying a pre-made solution is you get some support as a complete package rather than trying to build and support yourself but it tends to cost more than doing it yourself. Search YouTube for "The Phawx" as he has done a few good videos on this. "ETA Prime" has also run tests on the GPD-1 and something he made himself.

My best hunting chip set gives me 45% Capture Power and -50% Chance to Escape and the ability to have 13 Illuvial's
Why not run higher capture power instead of escape chance?
It was luck of the draw and random attributes but I have very few failures now so I might not change. Actually my last failure was an escape so I might want to lower my chance for escape
Just curious, because the Chance to escape only has an effect if you fail the capture. So having higher capture power should give less risk of anything escaping without having to invest points in an additional stat.
I like your logic I guess I was looking at it as two separate events first your capture power affects the chance of capturing and then it either escapes or not thus the need to reduce the chance of escape. Do you know how the programming in the game works?
Not exactly, but I know it was mentioned that the Chance to Escape only applies to the actual flee calculation that takes place if you fail a capture attempt, not the actual capture attempt itself.

I see, if I read that correctly a successful capture has zero chance of escape. In order to have an escape you must have a failed capture.
that is definately not true I have had many escapes without a failed capture unless they are not reporting the failed capture
Is anyone experiencing mouse glitching problems in the overworld. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling illuvium but the problem remains
Not failing a capture means it succeeded, thus it's impossible to have an escape because you already caught the illuvial.
When Moz4rt fails a capture you get the exploding animation instead of the fireworks, that's how the game reports that the capture failed.
Immediately after, the game checks if the illuvial escapes the encounter or not. If it escapes, the game tells you. If it doesn't escape it remains inside the encounter.

You're right about that.
They're not related.
Capture chance only influences the chance of a succesful capture.
Escape chance only affects the chance of the illuvial fleeing from the encounter, not escaping the capture attempt.
Fleeing is only checked if you fail to capture.
Hope that clears things up.

I havenāt tried that no. It happens mainly in the encounters autobattle. But pretty much everywhere. Cursor flashes and disappears and wonāt click on things
Iāve swapped out the mouse for a different mouse so itās not a hardware problem

That button automatically hides the cursor in encounters and when interacting with stuff

Hey, just trying to understand a bit more about the games mechanics.
From the website it says for overworld:
"As more and more are found, their capture rate will change, because it is fundamentally tied to the number that have been captured thus far"
Does that only apply to my experience of the game? Or across the world?
What im trying to work out is if I got into the game late...say like a few months after it launches would my chances of catching a "common" illuvial be much harder than if I started playing from day 1 of release because less of a certain illuvial would be captured?

If everyone playing at Open Beta launch targets Atlas, it's fair to assume it would be more difficult for you to catch Atlas when you begin playing
It will never be impossible, but depending on player behavior it may become more difficult or significantly more difficult

over time there will be new sets of Illuvials introduced, so you could say that bonding curve also resets when a new set goes live.

Everywhere I see it's only Osivium and Rodivium.
It's not the region that matters, but the Stage of the travel. Try selecting Stage 1, 2, or 3 instead of 0, and you'll start finding other ores.

Overworld game is amazing, in the grind to capture illuvials and when the game is live, we can sell our illuvials on the market, will there be an option to also sell your shards of the market? I feel the grind to find resources and shards, to then capture illuvials, but if want to just buy the shards, and then go out and capture that will be cool. The person that did grind to find the shards can earn for their time put in and the person that wants to capture only, can buy shards of the illuvidex. Just a thought, not sure if there is a plan. The same would go for the levelled Up boots, jet pack, helmet and weapon.
almost everything will be a tradable asset, so you can expect to be able to buy/sell shards, Illuvials, weapons, mineable resources, and many others.

I do agree to some extent; the art of illuvium is incredible and, while that is actually good for the Museum like gameplay of the overworld, it is not everything a game needs.
I am looking forward to OW3 where hopefully the game is less GPU intensive and a little more polished. And then the team will have another 5 months for the end of Q1 which is probably enough time to fix any gameplay issues :]

Well, actually if we listen to this video open minded and ok with criticism, there is some good points.
First ok we agree he did not to make the time to read everything, he basically didn t know pvp will be the main thing, he don t know there is he real story behind it, he don t know there will be tutorial ect...
Let's move on about it and just comment some points.

If we put aside our love for illuvium and the amazing work done by the art team, well I can t say he is really wrong ... and that s hurting for sure because since 2021 I am really into this.
**Again the major problem is communication, I remember late 2021 a post from Kieran saying how he is sorry that they will not meet the q4 2021 OB launch, then it was postponed for April 2022 and 2 month before he still was saying "not sure we re gonna hit it but we won t be far".
All this communication BS (Because for sure he knew there were 0way to release in April 2022) only to get money, keep the investors ect.
All this impact the credibility and the image and the good work the people working on the game are doing ... all this, because of shitty communication.**
Just be transparent "we have this this this still to do, we have this problem, this is almost fixed ect"
Give a date you believe in ... not the bulshit dates we had and have, let the people work good and not in rush.
How could we even launch with 0 test with many player connected to a testnet ?

Nobody on the team is afraid of the harsh feedback, there is plenty of truth as you say despite the video feeling like an attack.
The reality is that delivery estimates are extremely tough to get right, they rely on team members having a sound understanding of the implementation end-result well ahead of time and accounting for all of the technical & human dependencies + more.
As Kieran mentions in his most recent announcement, Lance has joined us as a Program Manager dedicated to mapping out the product roadmap & dependencies in even greater detail to what we have now.
Note: We do have each Project (21+ projects) mapped out 6-months in advance and a view of the critical path with the various key milestones including time estimates at the Task & Sub-Task level.
We're pushing hard to ensure (and expect) the recent delay is closer to 'slight delay', than 'significant delay'
I always start a new journey then sign out that way if I want to do more runs I have the 5000 reset plus whatever run I start in.
I haven't watched the video, but if the summary is correct:
We have to be really careful, when marketing Overworld to web 2 gamers.
If we don't make it explicitly clear, that this is essentially a disk opening and not yet a fully fledged game by itself, they will be extremely disappointed and angry. Especially when they have to pay for reach run. It doesn't matter, if the fuel price is fixed or floating.
I would market Arena to the masses and make sure that there are always cheap decks to buy or that gamers can play for free with sponsored decks.
I would market Overworld and Beyond to a web 3 audience (and web 2 collectors) and slowly open it up to the rest of the world.
I would call it Illuvium Overworld: Play and Collect
Arena creates demand for Illuvials, Overworld delivers the supply.
In the real world economy supply is generated by a few highly experienced and skilled entrepreneurs and companies, demand comes from millions of consumers.
We should not try to make every gamer an entrepreneur in our Illuvium economy. This will never ever succeed.
I am in favor of a Web2.5 model that separates both worlds through innovations in sponsorships etc.
I spoke to the creator in his discord. He was missing some facts regarding the game.
For example he didn't see why would auto-battler be 1v1. Because all of the prominent ones are FFA.
Then I made comparisson to TCGs which predominantly are 1v1 and it made sense for him.
I agree that videos like this should totally be watched with an open mind. There are things to learn from criticism. And I'm happy that I see the team working on everything mentioned in the video.

you ll need to spend countless runs that you ll pay to mine shitload of componments, then upgrate at least a little your warrior, you ll neet to pay to get ores and probably consumable to craft the augment, and you ll also pay many runs to collect shards and then pay again to catch.

looks like it will be a freaking grind at the level of many mmo quest "kill 200 chicken and get your shitty reward" it will be very very painfull to get to a correct deck to be competitive in the arena.

Ow is just a farming for hours game that some people will love, and some people will get tired doing it just to get their decks
It will be similiar to the grind I am currently going through with Yuga's HV-MTL Forge.

I don't know why, I just feel like Hunt isn't the right word as it just doesn't align with either Traditional Hunting or Monster Hunter, just gives a very different impression of what the gameplay interaction would be
I do hope both Marketing & Game Council feel there is a need to set Gameplay expectation within the Overworld Title, or else we are just going to get a lot of reviews with heavily mismanaged expectations on launch

yeah, explaining to anyone that each run will cost money immediately lights up a thousand red flags to all gamers.
Personally, I like the entire concept of having fuel produced on the lands to supply traveling, capturing and crafting, plus having the entire free T0 version of overworld and the price tag on the rest. After all, we are trying to build a gaming universe with real world economy.
One thing I think they should consider is the issue of balancing 3 different travel costs and rewards. Obviously, people will figure out what is the most cost effective travel and ONLY use that one... Maybe there should be only one travel option (payed version), and let the rng gods decide what you get when the map is generated...

Considering the value you get from something like Balder's Gate 3 anything costing more than $250 over a year would look excessively expensive unless the content was absolutely mind-blowing. That kind of fits where I pictured land in Illuvium Zero fitting. $2,500 spent yielding maybe 10% would probably be about right considering the alternative of just holding and staking the ETH. Maybe to play it safe 1 x T3 plus 1 x T1 would give a regular player the "deluxe experience" and be worth the upfront investment. Sadly I paid way more for my T3... So does anyone think I need to add a T1 or is it overkill?
I had never used an XBox controller on PC before. I did look up how to check whether the buttons worked, outside Illuvium, to get it set up. I watched a video, don't remember what I did, it was easy. I signed into Illuvium and just used it. There was one day it didn't work for whatever reason and the next day it did again. If it was hard I wouldn't have figured it out.š

Hey, I tried to use the "basic index capacitor" to increase my illuvials slots from 5 to 9 but it didn't work.
The support told me that I have to use the "supreme index capacitor".
So what is the use of the "basic" one pls?

There are 3 stages to each Drone chip. For the Index Capacitor, Basic is the one that gives +4, Advanced gives +6, and Supreme gives +8.

I bought xbox controller and for me so much easier to play when running around jumping, using jetpack etc. Only downside is have to use keyboard to mine rocks, change inventory, ie when you need to press E or R I have to use keyboard. Same with arena battle i have to use mouse and as controller don't work. Probably could map it somehow in future but i just plug and played which is about my tech level.

What if we fail to attract a substantial amount of web2 players initially and the price of a competitive deck is 50$?
Let's say we reach 500k playerbase, 50$ average for a deck only nets 25mil, of which the treasury only gets 5mil in best case scenario. Once people are comfortable with their decks, they will probably supplement them through illuvidex since they will need specific units and not spend on fuel.
We are a web3 project after all, alot different than any web2 game economy wise. Many points are to be considered, rather than just how much a deck will cost in order to look good in web2 eyes.

If Holos/Dark Holos are desired by collectors and their appearance rates are low enough then that can cause a lot of travels for hunting
Yes but whales battling against whales will get boring fast for Leviathan. You need the whales stomping the casuals to tick their superiority complex. Without accessibility and proper incentives it might turn into a ghost town quick.
I think a safer option would be leviathan deck ceiling to be lowered and ascendant a bit higher. A more expensive ascendant deck can work if the weekly rotating deck provides competitive illuvials that can be used in combination with what players own already. That way there is a smoother progression in both.

I'm not going to comment on exact prices, but one thing to keep in mind around deck costs is that most players won't just want/have one single deck. They will likely strive to build multiple, some which share assets, others which contain assets unique to that build/strategy. And we're also working on two things that others have mentioned in the Free Starter Decks and Free Rotation of Illuvials. All of these things put together will contribute to a player's investment on the deckbuilding side of things. So just be careful around looking at numbers in a vacuum like "A deck costs X, therefore a player will spend X to play the game." There are many more variables.

They have not shared specific minimum specs for anything yet.
You need to have enough flat space to place one, and there's a limit to how many you can place per travel (3 if I'm not mistaken).

The game running and the game running well arenāt the same thing. I use my MacBook Air. 2020 M1. Itās not very fast or anything. It can run the games on low settings. Mid/High levels of the survival mode start to get low FPS. But I donāt push for the leaderboard anyways. There are sometimes things in the overworld that lower the FPS too. But I think thatās really been improved a lot in the last few builds.
I only play a couple times a month.

They are improving the way the wakes work atm, you won't just shoot them and they freeze. I think the team is working on the wakes moving away from you so you have to chase them which would be really cool until they can get Illuvials in the Overworld
Why waste time improving the wakes when you can just add the illuvials to the overworld. Putting effort into a MUCH better system would be better use of time and capital. Your comment just makes me even more worried about the future of this investment.

Each illuvali already has walking animations in arena, by polished I mean walking animations for non flat terrain liek the arena is. polishing the walking animations would make them not appear to clip into the ground when walking up or down slopes. that can be worked on before launch.
The art team is proud of what they made (and they should), if they implement them it will be polished

To be honest I am kinda concerned regarding the general concept we established for paying for OW. I still think that a subscription or fixed sell price would attract more people. Ofc. we would get problems how to keep value in having land...
My point is a web2 player will have trouble with three different currencies that need to be bought.
In general I never really understood why in web3 everything is behind a paywall instead of a grindwall. With high expanses for a OW run we just exclude people from the game. I started to have a look at web3 games because I thought it would be cool if I could have sold my hard earned wow mythic/top tier raid epics for real money.
While a subscription/full price method are pretty well known among web2 players I sincerely doubt that the buy x amount of a currency a,b,c for task y will be received well :/
On the other hand games for mobile use different payment concepts as well and are successful with it but I never saw these as real games š
Bottom line for me would be to have a challenging and grindy (in a fun way) OW with a fixed price per month (or maybe even full price game) and good incentives for having high level and high stats t5 Illuvials in OW and Arena.
I would see this as comparable to WOW. Some people learn how to beat a difficult encounter and other just pay for boost run or accept worse gear.
In the end the scenario in which the last run was bad/unlucky and you tell a player that more funds are needed to keep going will be received extremely bad

You need to go back to the obelisk and port back to sanctum mesa. Then you can chose another stage by porting to another region.

How do you feel about what bots have done to the gold economy in WoW?
My understanding is that The per-play paywall is used to create pain for bots. Real people canāt grind harder than bots. If grinding is what it takes to get value extraction from overworld than bots will reign supreme and human players would not be able to compete.
Haven't played wow for the last years but during the time I played I never had the feeling that it is a big problem for me because there were always good methods to get enough gold. During classic wow it obviously was much harder to get gold, so, yeah, during that time it was an issue but also during that time blizzard was much more interested to prevent bots.
I get your point regarding bots but aren't there other methods to catch/prevent bots which don't affect everybody else? Just feels like the majority gets punished to make this issue non existing from the start. In web3 preventing bots is obviously more important than in web2 but it is also necessary that we find solutions which don't affect the gaming experience for a web2 gamer because in the end they will just use that as an argument against web3 in general.
I'm also concerned about the need of crypto currencies for playing the game.
There should be an option for just sliding your credit card to buy your stuff.
Nonetheless the pay per run i really like. It's the selling system of cardgames, gas for cars, ticket for subway, repetead micro transaction in mobile games, etc.

There could be a WOW kind of game as a future game, but OW simply isn't meant to be that kind of experience.
Speaking personally, I'm inclined to agree - I think it makes sense to have some kind of subscription option, even something as simple as auto-buying fuel for folks who would rather not deal with the marketplace. Never played WoW, but I used to play SWTOR quite a bit, and I've still got a pile of unused Cartel Coins from the monthly allowance.
But I'm just a dev, those decisions are outside of my scope š
Sure, automated rebuys are one option to solve some problems. Personally, I would have my issues with that as well because that is limitless unless there is an option to set a personal limit. Still, in general I see the combination microtransactions and pc games skeptical because that in my opinion is primarily a thing for mobile games. Who knows maybe this combination still works. I guess, I just have to wait and see.
How is there such a minimal streamer presence for Illuvium Overworld? I remember when I played it for a few weeks it was super fun for me
You don't get to keep any of your progress or Illuvials so people play for awhile and then stop knowing everything gets wiped

PB3 brings additional gameplay depth to Overworld which should result in an uptick. Personally I only play Beta's ahead of a progression wipe to learn mechanics before the full release, I'm sure many feel the same.

Hi, as a lifelong gamer who has no problem busting out my wallet if I'm having fun, I wanted to provide my feedback on the pricing structure of Overworld runs with my reasonings behind each tier and its price.
Tier 0 - Free
Tier 1 - $0.50
Tier 2 - $1.75
Tier 3 - $9.00
This pricing will allow people to get addicted without spending hardly anything.
Tier 0 being free is important, because a lot of players will grind stage 3 Illuvials, by the time they do that, they'll have
have been satisfied with all the free value they've experienced from the game. This will help make it easier to justify taking that first step into the revenue funnel, progressing to the next tier, where they will be spending just $0.50 per run.
You could grind for a whole month on tier 1, where if you averaged 3 runs each day you're
only spending $45 bucks per month. This is super feasible for casuals and weekend sweaters alike.
By tier 2, the addiction has fully set in. Your mindset is likely in a more competitive state at this point, and spending less
than $2 bucks for a run where you can pull so much greatness out of, is just an absolute steal of a deal. This is likely where people will
spend most of their time in the Overworld, and averaging just 3 runs per day converts into $157.50 per player, per month. Not bad metrics for
the majority of our player base, since it will generate tons of consistent volume.
And finally a place for the risk takers, the beaters, the one's that Gotta Catch Em All, you'll have tier 3 runs for under $10 bucks.
If you price this between $20 to $50 bucks, it will alienate a huge chunk of gamers who will see this game as momentum tries pushing us into the mainstream.
They'll see the endgame and think, "I will never get there, so I'm not even going to try." Gamers need to know it's at least realistic to run endgame as they're in the decision making process of whether they
download the game, or share it with their friends. You also don't want gamers to feel embarrassed to share this with people due to endgame price points.
If my friends or family knew I was paying $50 bucks for a tier 3 run in this game, I'd feel wasteful, or as a family man even feel selfish, and they'd probably think I was too. This is not a healthy discussion I'd like to have with people where I try and convince them it's worth it. Illuvium needs to be accessible to everyone. People can justify the occasional tier 3 run if it's under $10 bucks. And a saavy farmer/grinder/collector could also justify spending all day ripping nothing but tier 3's.
I could easily see myself spending all day on Saturdays running nothing but tier 3 runs and spending $135 bucks (15 runs @$9.00/each), which would be $540 per month (playing 4 days per month all day). I don't think
I'd allow myself to get addicted to the game if I knew endgame content costed $20 to $50 bucks per run, that would cost someone $1200 to $3000 per month, and that's just for playing all day on Saturdays.
Anyway, I'm sorry if this was poorly written or hard to understand. Feel free to criticize my thoughts. I haven't seen much on what current pricing sentiment looks like, so I figured I'd at least throw my 2 cents out there.

Sure, no problem. But I'm curious, I did a search in the discord and couldn't find many instances of people conjecturing the pricing structure. With the release just months away, I figured I'd see some increased activity surrounding this topic more specifically. If it doesn't exist, then how can we get the conversation started? @sleek slate posted on my idea in the feedback section, and his proposal was very similar to mine, which made me happy to see. If these conversations are happening behind closed doors, is there anyway we can get a feeler for the range of pricing that's being considered for each tier?

The question goes for anyone reading, what pricing would you feel comfortable seeing for the various tiers? Q1 will be here sooner than later, and if the devs have no idea what to plan for, they may miss their mark for what a lot of us are willing to pay. I really do worry they are considering a pricing structure that will completely alienate millions of gamers. $20 - $50 range just isn't realistic for the masses. But maybe they aren't building the game for the masses I honestly don't know.
What gets me is the cost for travel, the cost for forging, and the cost for curing shards. Three different fuels is fine. But when people talk about cost in here itās usually only cost per travel. And thatās only one of the three types of costs in the overworld.
Hopefully most people just assume an average cost per run that includes all three, but I fear that most simply consider the cost to travel since thatās the only cost we āpayā in overworld at the moment.
I am thinking a little higher than you but I am not your typical gamer as I come from crypto so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Definitely something valid to consider. I don't think a lot of people are realizing those other functions as additional costs (even though they are), I'm assuming that when people are posting the pricing they're comfortable paying that it would be an all encompassing price (as I have done).
Just remember the pricing needs to reflect the cost of Decks in Arena, shape a sustainable economy, consider target markets, consider business costs..and more.
It's not simply a matter of thinking 'it should be priced in X way to ensure I can grind the game 8 hours a day'

In general I totally agree, but in a game like this if we start too high many people might not give it a chance, whereas if we started lower, people will have a chance to see/feel the value and become addicted to the fun, thus being understanding and ok with a price adjustment. I know what you mean though. Sounds like a good plan to get some higher level coverage on this, as I'd like to start preparing my circle of gamers for what's coming soon.
While I think scale is important, itās not the only metric of success.
Developing a highly robust economy that provides a growing revenue stream for future development might not be the same as scaling this to the most number of players.

Developing all these assets is not an easy feat especially in the context of an intricate economy like we have.
Giving the market the ability to price them higher and the dao to benefit from high asset prices could work very well.
There are significant risks to pricing these too low, and players blasting through the bonding curve too quickly.

it helps if you're good at 3-D platforming š I find it's easiest to go to the end of a tunnel, and there are usually enough ledges and plants to work your way up. Easier if you upgrade your boots, but it can be done with the base ones

MAybe a genshin we party and pool in the illuvials in battle and we up the difficulty
suprised to see drop rates will be substantially lower in open beta. I've been playing PB2 for months now fairly consistently at times playing 1 tier 1,2 & 3 per day. I'm still a long way off most of the stage 3 illuvials and if we need to level up illuvials to fuse, that feels like it could take forever
perhaps we'll have more energy per run or they're expecting people to play at lot more. If so, they have to be very careful that cost of travel is not too high

yeah it took me 2 months to get 1 of everything but I didn't have to level them up to be able to fuse them. Curious to see what it will look like in PB3, if we can level them up.

How do you feel about the need to deconstruct old items to forge new ones. Itās not very intuitive to me. We have what feels like the whole periodic table of elements weāre working with, why make us construct and deconstruct items to construct other items? @worn lodge
Happy with it. It allows fluidity and with so many items being able to swap between weapons as the illuvials you find change.
Whilst keeping the cost down. I don't want people to be locked to using a weapon they made early on due to the costs of swapping
In the overworld will we have the option to say we want to build a sword, and you can tag that as a quest and have it in the corner in the ui, when you are out farming for resources you can see what you are missing to craft it
The game will be AAA, just guessing that they will develop useful tools for players.

Yes, it's a safe assumption that all of the private beta releases will have a data wipe. We're adding a lot of new features that require changing the data structures, and until NFTs are in play there's not a whole lot of emphasis on backwards compatibility. Easier to just blow it all away and start fresh š

A tip for you: do 'stage 0' mining for a day or two, get those 'rhodivium' and 'osvium' as much as you can get, upgrade your jetpack and boots. Rest will be easy and easy to learn (once you stop staring at the ranger's backside )

Yes. Especially in stage 3 it takes more hits so sometimes it's good to invest in more mining power or less energy usage.

Once you have got 'supreme' equipment upto tier 4, then you can start scanning for the tier 5 ore and skip the rocks that don't have it. Later you would need only shards, you can skip the rest.
Try to add 'mining cost reduction' one. It helps a lot.
This is only in the first few days, when you do mining runs, that you have to get any ore you come across because all of them are needed for something.

Stage '0' runs for 'jetpack' and boots.
Stage 1 &2 runs for drone equip T1-T3
Stage 2&3 runs for T4-5 drone stuff.
Use the celestevium and selenvium carefully. They are T5 and are hard to come by.
Supreme jetpack --> Supreme boots -->Supreme Mining cost reduction --> Supreme Mining power --> Supreme visor --> then other T4 - T5 drone stuff including capture power etc. That's how I did. Don't spend T4-T5 ore on armaments and weapons yet.

It's random. You can't predict where the rocks with shards will be located, at least that is my experience.

As cloudmage said, the best bet is in stage 2 and stage 3 mining runs. Scoriox has a good video on mining rocks. To find shards, I'd start by looking for the Lazurite and Albite deposits š

but I remember that earlier I could pick up several 2-3 units in one battle in the arena

For example, does it depend on improving equipment or ammunition?
there is a dimensional stability bar at the very top during the battle.
With every Mastery point you use for the fight, that dimensional stability shrinks.
After you won, tryes to catch an illuvial costs you also dimensional stability.
When the stability is below 0 the encounter collapses and you get ported back to the OW.
This means, the less MP you spend to fight the encounter, the more dimensional stability is left and the more chances of catching illuvials you have.
What is MP and how to spend less of it?

It's the cost you have to pay to put an illuvial on the board, or put an augment on an Illuvial
so basically if you wana catch many Illuvials in one encounter, you should try to beat it with putting as less Illuvials/augements as possible on your board.
it's the purple bar at the top of the screen. You'll see it shrink when placing Illuvials on the board or trying to capture them. It's basically to encourage you to make smarter and/or riskier choices rather than just throwing out an overwhelming force

The games are not connected yet to the blockchain. Games are still in Beta.
You will be able to collect assets (NFTs) from games like OverWorld and use the in Illuvium Zero exemple to craft armor or weapon skin.
The Illuvials you will capture with shards, once all games will be connected to the blockchain then players will be able to use their Illuvials to collect, trade or fight with them in Arena... the choice will be your.
Also, players will need fuels, there is 3 type of fuels so far ( Crypton, Solon, Hyperion).
Fuel will be needed in order to do some action in the Universe of Illuvium exmeple players will need Crypton to travel in Overworld true the 7 differents regions, Solon to craft equiments or Hyperion to cure Shards which are required to capture Illuvials in the OverWorld.
Does that mean everyone won't have the base illuvials for arena like we do now? Only what you own from overworld?

Arena right now is just the survival mode. And thatās basically just a pve tutorial mode. Arena: Ascendant will be PvP and there will be a few premade teams that players can use. But other than those we will need to have our own illuvials.

I don't think so. A lot of steam games that are in early access get a wipe when they go into full game.

No, cause most of the time in early access in web 2 games the data is wiped. When I played WoW beta back in the day they wiped my character and I was fine with it. I got hooked on the game and I couldnt wait for it to come out and play.

It sounds to me like There will not be a connection between the illuvials caught in overworld and the illuvials available to include on an arena team anytime soon. Ok so I traveled to a new spot three times now .. crashed Everytime.. this laptop is not the strongest but I do use it for Adobe video editing with no issues and unity game making no issue .. I set the graphic to as low as everything can go but it's still eating up video memory.

No windows at the moment. But I'm going to try my Mac when I get home. I want to be able to stream n play. So I need them resources to be lowered .. like I said I dropped all graphic in game and dedicated high performance to the game from my comp settings.

Crafting a weapon for your Ranger helps to get your first illuvials.
I would also recommend to get some t0 illuvials first, before you Start hunting in s1

Don't waste time in trying to catch illuvials in the beginning..
Do mining in stage 0, get all the materials for upgrading the jetpack and boots, then mine in stage 1 and upgrade the visor, by then you would have got some tier 1 and above shards to catch tiered illuvials. Then focus on tier -2 mining run for upgrading drone equipment, especially 'capture power', that will help you catch higher tiered illuvials..
man, it'll be so satisfying to craft augments, armor and weapons after gathering and collecting everything when the game releases. Building those assets to use and sell... can't wait!
but gotta consider that the first person in the world to capture each illuvial will be signing the illuvidex forever with his name.... it will be a capture run!

They will be wiped out. You have to start all over again with next release (PB3)
They are not NFT yet. But in final release (or open beta) they will be, but you will be starting from beginning again.

The fps slows to snail speed and you literally have to drag the mouse cursor. M1 Mac is not built for AAA game settings š

Press H and search in the red zone of your heat map, Wake spawn randomly each run do enter you will need to look at your heat map.
Have you tried the supreme visor and supreme heatmap drone equipment?

will this gameplay be the same with public release? understand for beta purposes things need to be taken slowly and everything tested. but in public beta or full release, if you have to mine and forge things before you can start capturing illuvials, not sure if it'll catch the initial attention of the gamer
In the current beta players can start capturing illuvials immediately. Though those illuvials are the tier 0 illuvials.
It wonāt be long after the public launch that some players will be grinding the mining and forging so they can sell the things other less patient players will want to buy.

Was in Brightland Steppes and found that beauty in a wake, took my time to take a ss and then the Dimensional Stability of the world was collapsing but I did not noticed & it was to late for me to enter into the encounter.

Not necessarily, in stage 2 runs get even Tier 4 shards.

Ok. Stage 0 is mainly to get started, you get ore for jet pack and boots and you can catch some T0 illuvials to get started. Later, it is not going to be of much use, and yes, you won't get higher tier items in stage 0.
Should I make the upgraded illuvials from stage 0 before jumping into the next stage?
Do stage 0 'mining' runs for a day. Focus on upgrading your jet pack and boots, you need lots of Rhodivium and Osvium from stage 0. Then do lots of stage 2 mining runs. You get material for visor and drone. Then you try catching those darn illuvials š
I went with Max Boots+jetpack and 2x s 2 dokas, 1x s1 grokko + Ranger sword on the first t1-5 illuvials Hunts und smashed pretty much everything i encountered.
Than i saw i Miss a Lot during the catching process, and i went back mining for more Mozart upgrades š

There are no updates available for the current version. Wait till 28th of this month. Once the game is available in EPIC installer, then you wil be able to update the app when update/patches are released.

When you leave any region and go back to Sanctum Mesa it gets reset to 5000. The regional tower (the tuning forky thing, idk the actual name) doesn't recharge it.
