It’s not time. It’s after your ergon energy drops below 1000 that the bubble starts to close. So you can take your time to make a plan (teleportation markers next to things you want to do in the last bit of time).

Are you using a shard fragment? Those can only catch T0 Illuvials, for higher ones you need better shards

it's more about the stage than the map. higher stages tend to spawn stronger Illuvials. So if you want the weak ones, go to the S0 version of the map

so is it normal for the drones to switch places in the inventory. I have illuvial +4 in Diagnosis and planning (in second slot).. heat map and -10% on mining in third. When i zone into a region those two switch places. Illuvial goes to the absolute spot and the other moves to diag. Both are diag and planning drones.

i go back out remove 4 illuvials, switch them back, equip my drones the way I want.. add illuvials back.. zone back in and it did it again.

I am enjoying the improvements to Private Beta 2, about 6 hours of gameplay in new PB2. The additional Illuvials is awesome (for variety when capturing, but also adding fresh layers of detail to the autobattler strategies), as well as the two new regions.

Player search vs reward balancing seems to be better. It feels like I have to actually hunt for the resources using the heat map.

The mining nodes have been improved in variety, making it advantageous to scan more often.

New slide mechanics are a great improvement to movement system, more fun now.

Definitely, feels fresh and a challenge to progress/capture. It has been hard for me to find shards, though maybe that is a good thing making them more precious than before.

I like the new morphpods capture mechanic. Something else to do. I would love to see more varieties of non-capturable life spread throughout the maps more often though to give the land more of a feeling of being alive.

CPU performance is pretty slammed trying to push 144 FPS at high resolution (5120x1440) on my i9-13900K/RTX 4090 desktop, a very high end processor/gpu combo. Some stuttering when loading into new map areas as well, would like to see loading in new regions smoothed out. Textures have also been iffy when in the distance, and some up close. Still needs more improvements. Textures might be related to stutter. Not sure, could also just be my desktop. Will need to test with my other laptops.

For me, all I really need is permanent capturing of illuvials, blockchain trading of captured Illuvials, and implementation of PvP gameplay for me to be super addicted to this game imo--all of which to say makes me very optimistic for future of ILV after launch.

Brightland is nice to Look at, but a pain to grind because it's verticallity. Sometimes you barely find anything, just to recognize after 5-10mins you are 1 lvl above the spawn.

i actually find it the easiest to farm ..u go high ground to begin with in the heat map and u can scout everything on the way up

then u just start collecting

place a tp beacon on top and make youir way to the ground again ..when u done ..tp up at your beacon and go to the next area

Abysal is the most annoying for me , and not because of the water movement..with supreme jet pack and mag boots i dont even need to bother about that , but the resources always seem to be limited and always placed on the edge of the map in a higher concentration

it will really need to be nicely balance because since we have shit load of stuff to farm to be just "efficient" at catching Illuvials. Paying for the runs + all the curating / crafting. That will bother people.
not even talking about the t1 illuvials that managed to escape 3 times in row with corresponding shard (and level 1 catching power).
People will be quickly mad to be wasting 750 energy and not catching a thing from the encounter (or in that case you always use a shard above the level of the illuvials but that will make the runs even more pricy)

i think the catch rates will be slightly adjusted on the release but yeah atm it feels silly to use a higher lvl shard for a lesser tier illuvial and still miss it

I guess that's depending on the price per Run. If you pay 10 Cents for 1 Run, yes you will be mad because you didn't catch it, but it won't hurt you and you will try again.
But catchrate is indeed a bit hard. If i use for example a t3 shard for a Tier 3 illuvial, i failed more than i catched yet in total. (Including lvl1 Mozart catching power). And in Like 30% the illuvial disappeared after failing the catch. Maybe inplayed to less and just have had Bad luck.

Drone upgrades are pretty impactful. Unless something changed, Escape Chance is a distinct outcome from Capture Chance. Anecdotally, I've had a lot more success capturing (and not having escapes) by using a mixture of Escape Chance and Capture Power.

Personally, I like the agency that upgrades give players, and I enjoy the semi-randomness of secondary properties on drone upgrades. It really lets you mix and match what you want to run to optimize around.

Just as an example, you could run max capture power and use down-tiered shards, but risk escapes. Alternatively, you could use Capture Power + Escape chance with same-tiered shards and not risk as many escapes. There's likely an optimal approach depending on what Stages of travel you intend to be engaging with, and the prices and availability of shards.

How long is the alpha testing for Illuvium: Zero expected to last?

The alpha testing for Illuvium: Zero is expected to be split into two seasons.

We are currently in Season 0. At the end of this season, all data, including blueprints, will be wiped and reset. The purpose of Season 0 is to allow the development team to fix bugs and balance issues and to prevent any issues that may arise if player data needs to be reset before moving on to Season 1.

After Season 0, the game will move on to Season 1, which will last until the open beta stage. Another data reset is expected at the end of Season 1. However, players will be able to mint the blueprints they researched as NFTs during the last few months of Season 1. Those minted NFTs will persist beyond the Alpha data reset and can be used to craft skins in the Overworld once we reach the Open Beta.

More information on the minting windows will be provided as the game approaches the open beta stage.

Better to plan your last spending by putting a tp next to encounter / rocks for your last 1k energy. Like this when you trigger instability you just straight tp and use what's left of it

how about giving daily / weekly shards reward for people running mission ? Honestly find it tough to collect illuvials with those shard drop rate. Maybe being unlucky but in T1 / T2 i don't find much. And often scan level 2 still doesn't show much about the rock either

So here’s one I have reported a few times as well as duplicated. I have made five skins so far and when I try to add one of them like cosmospire silver to my inventory, it won’t go in. I empty my inventory of everything and try again still won’t go in I select it first to make sure that it’s highlighted and try that way and it won’t go in. I can add Aqua Blue and Cosmos Silver

Visual feedback:
When fighting in the OW, the battle board and the Illuvials on it are extremely bright and literally glowing. Imo, this is not ideal. See a screenshot below from Brycents stream that demonstrates the observation.
I find the lightning conditions in the Arena Gameplay Mode much more pleasant. Illuvials dont seem to (over)glow there, leading to a more pleasant visual experience.

Of course this feedback is subjective.

1-Mining stasge 0 to get upgrade you equipment at least level 2, by the time your getting those 3 Equipments stage2 try to look for Grokko Tier0 bulwark with the affinity you want to build around later (he, have a AOE stun which is strong)
2- Mining again to get your chips for improving mining power, maybe reducing cost of mining as well, while you can have in the middle chip slot (increase range of detection+ illuvial later)
3-While mining you will need to get the hand on shards with differents Tier level which you will need to capture illuvials.
4- Upgrading, your weapon( you will need to cure gem) armor to make it easier to capture illuvial.
5- Keep upgrading your Equipment(only doing stage0 run because this is the only place those ores drop)
6- Keep mining to get more shards in different stage1-2-3 depending on your mining power & reduction cost of mining. Upgrade your chips for your drone M0z4rt.

they have better omegas than tier 1 illuvials if u ask me

I'm writing a report on how it is to play from the bad computer with an old graphics card. Hopefully this might be of some help to developers.

I'm playing on everything "Low" and on resolution 2560x1440.

I'm playing on Inter i5-8400 with 16 GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

tl;dr
I feel like it's better then before because I was unable to play on 2k before.
Game is playable it's just really hard to catch Illuvials in Abyssal Basin.

Longer version

I'm getting around 40-50 fps everywhere apart from closer to water where I have ~30 fps.

Abyssal Basin
I'm getting around 30-50 fps around the map. If there is a lot going on it's probably lower. But I would say around 40-50 on a lot of the map. It's really playable with any problems. Main problem is while trying to catch Illuvials. On battleboard before the battle I'm getting 11 or 12 fps, and after the win when trying to catch them I have 9-10 fps so it's really hard to move the mouse and do something.

Crimson Waste
On most of the map I'm getting 40-60 fps. There are some areas where it's lower but it's pretty much never under 30. While on battleboard I have around 32-33 fps before the battle and 31-32 fps while trying to catch Illuvials. It's much better then Abyssal Basin and you can pretty much normally control everything on the board and use your shards.

Brightland Steppes
I'm getting 10-30 fps if I'm close to the grass around the Obelisk. If I'm higher up I'm getting a solid 30-60 and it's much better. Before the battle on the battleboard I'm getting 22-23, and while catching I'm getting 21-22 fps. It's not as bed as Abyssal Basin, but it's not perfect.

When playing Arena I'm getting around 30-40 fps almost all the time. When there is more Illuvials it's lower, but not that much. I'm only loosing frames during the battle. But setting up the board is really playable.

i sent email to support a few days ago about difficulties downloading overworld beta but have not heard back. i've tried downloading the beta on 2 different machines. same issue -- download begins but stops at around 1.2GB. sometimes it creates two temporary files 1.2GB and a smaller one. but always get stuck with a network fail. is there an alternate mirror site? anyone else experienced this issue and have any tips or workarounds? i didn't have this issue with zero, arena and the older version of overworld. am also not experiencing any network errors with other apps i'm using on one of the machines. on the other, nothing else is running except for the beta download but it also has the same issue.

Anyone got any good tips for finding deposits with shards outside of mining/scan upgrades? Spent all my days energy on 3 mining runs and all I have to show for it is one shard. Was not pleasant haha

Oof - This is anecdotal, but some trends I've noticed (and apologies for almost certainly misspelling some of the deposit names)

Lazurite (red deposits) seem to be weighted towards shards more than other types of deposits.

Modan...ite? (grey deposits) seem weighted towards more gems, and are not a great use of energy for shards.

Seismic Quartz seems to be the "super deposit" for shards, and is, on average, pretty good for shards.

The other "super deposits" are mostly not great right now, and are terrible for getting shards (especially since they cost more energy to mine). The Helio Agate one is weighted fowards gems, and is straight up bad. The Tectonic Neovite seems to drop higher tier Ores, and can be worth mining (especially in S1/S2 runs) for T4/T5 ores, but not really so much for shards.

TL;DR: Find Lazurite and Seismic Quartz as a priority, and past that avoid Modan...ite.

Shards do come from pretty much everything (from what I've seen), it's mostly about what you want to target.

Also worth noting that I've only ever personally seen 1 super deposit per run, so you won't always get a seismic quartz (or maybe I'm just bad at finding them).

They are a bit distinct looking, but depending on the zone and lightning in the area, it can be hard to tell, so mostly by name for me.

They also cost a LOT more energy to mine (like, 1-2 tiles per action in a S3 run with 70 mining power).

Seismic looks reddish-pink to me (like, slightly lighter than Lazurite).

I haven't noticed any major trends outside of super deposits personally, nor have I been tracking mining data this beta. The only thing notable of the non-super deposits I noticed was Moganite producing more gems, and Lazurite producing more shards. I'd assume one of the types probably has slightly higher weighting towards ore as well (just because it would be consistent with the super deposits).

Something that varied in PB1 that a lot of people didn't account for was the mining difficulty of various types of deposits. Some of the deposits would have, for example, 7 or 8 tiles revealed per mining action, while other types would only reveal 6-7, or even 5-6.

If I had a bit more time I'd like to track some of that info for PB2, but alas...

in all my runs (10/15) i saw only one seismic quartz (that was my first run actually on T3) and got like 2 resplend and 3 others shard from it i think.
But overall i would say finding shard is difficult.

for me the best deposits with shards in them so far are Feldspar, Bismuth and sometimes Albite , but Albites need a scan as most of the times have low resources in them and u waste energy

best deposits for getting elemental gems so far have been the Moganite ones

Lazurite, Bismuth , Feldspar, Geodyne for any ores in general

the high end ones like Tectonic, Seismic ,Helio Agate are usually rly rare to get ..u get maybe 1 or 2 max on a run , if u can find them , and also they do not hold a big amount of resources and u waste at least 500 energy on clearing one if u want to go for it

i think they are made to get the top range of the elemental gems and tier 5 shards ..but they dont always hold them

i never bother with them unless i rly want to go for some tier 5 craft

also most of the time u dont know what they hold even after u scan them because u need an insane amount of scan power and mine power to clear one of those or have a peek into, if u only want to use a decent amount of energy ..if not ..imo the rewards are not worth the energy spent

I feel Like the Rota Line needs a faster omega.
Since he is range and doesn't really get attacked he needs pretty Long until his omega bar is full, and then it's not even a stun or a ultra dmg. I really Like his omega, but it feels a bit underwhelming vs others.

I have been using ore-duplication yesterday but it's does not really work or the visial effet of when you did get a duplicated ore is not that visible.

I've used the Essence duplicator ones, and it doesn't really show that it duplicates anything (other than the numbers going up occasionally on harvest). So if you don't pay attention it's hard to tell when you actually got a duplication. (Other than statistics done afterwards, which confirms it actually does what it's supposed to).

One question though:
Is there a chance to duplicate a duplicated Ore/Essence?

right, that's still the same. if you fail to capture an Illuvial, it has a chance to escape, but otherwise capture chance and escape chance are unrelated

"escape" meaning escape from the encounter, not escape from your shard

Yeah, basically three possible outcomes: Success, Failure, Escape.

Capture Power improving Success and reducing Failure, but not impacting Escape.

Escape Chance reducing Escape chance.

Tried playing OW for the first time in months, and sorry but the experience is awful compared to PB1. I tried a T2 & T3 run, 1 ore in half an hour total, had to stop both run because it was unbelievably empty and boring.

There's litterally nothing to do, and the morphopods you find here and there escape 80% of the time.

Didn't want to waste any more time, may try again if it gets patched.

It feels like a version that could have come out a year and a half ago...

Just use the heat map. You will find lots of rocks next to each other. It has actually improved compared to PB1 because you don't need to search the whole map to find all the illuvials and ores.

It does need to be more clear that the heat map is now a critical part of a travel cycle.

Try using it - Wakes, Deposits and Plants are now more clustered in specific parts of the map. Once you're aware of where things have spawned, I think it's an improvement.

yep, we changed the spawn algorithm to add more variety to the runs, to keep things interesting and give the heatmap more value. But you do have to remember the heatmap is there...

Hey folks. can anyone tell me what it means when it says power too low when trying to catch an Illuvial? Also, is the only way to get more shards to scavenge and hope for a drop?

Definitely need more shards. There are different tiers of shards just like there are different tiers of illuvials. A t0 shard cannot capture any t1-t5 illuvials. Their power is too low. It may also say that if you are trying to use a t1 shard on a t3 illuvial. But that scenario may just have very low percentage capture chance.

Yeah, heatmap, when it's your first run everything is red guys, you need to find stuff to get the drone upgrade to begin with.

Shard power is too low. Or the level of the shard is too low.

Anyone noticed that areas on each map are absolutely loaded with resources, and others are totally barren? Like one area has all the harvestables, another has all the encounters, another map all the mineables? I just did a Stage 1 cycle on Crimson Waste, and Howling Rift was loaded with everything. Every other route was barren...

resources are way more concentrated now than they were earlier
mostly a large group of them appear in a few areas around the maps (check your heatmap for a hint on where to focus your search)
(Heatmap, press M to bring up the map then H for the heat overlay, red areas indicate resource-heavy areas)

You may need drone upgrades for it to be more helpful though

You can fuse 3 atlas to 1 axon. And 3 axon to 1 axodon

They only work on either the 1st or 2nd slot depending on type, and anything goes in the 3rd slot
