Buying the season pass after you already bought the battle pass basically becomes a glorified 10 (or 12, I forget) level boost after the fact. You're still getting a standard 10 pull for half the price (functionally $10 instead of $20) plus Baize's blessing (and 600 gold), so it's not going to waste. It doesn't give you the option to level boost like normal when first unlocking the pass, though. Thus you get much less levels than what you could've gotten by paying the 1640 gold difference directly. Or roughly $13.67 USD on top of the 1200 gold ($10 USD) for the initial unlock. In other words the game treats the battle pass part of the season pass as bought levels because you already have the battle pass.
