REM cycles tend to come at 90 minute intervals, so you should get two in during 4 hours of sleep... Barring any other conditions.

As long as you get full sleep every so often it's not so bad. But you really have to try to get a healthy amount of sleep. I usually do 6 hours a night which is definitely sustainable but every now and then I'll sleep for 8

Because I know I dream I'm not as concerned about lack of sleep.
