but usually things like this would math out to ((total revenge % )/(total revenge resist +100%))x 100
So 150% resist would leave them at 40% of their original revenge

From my experience the 80% revenge item ruined my hq defense already

I burnt on 1st hit during valiant the day of wc

Where I could without that resist active take 10+ hits from the bigs.

This resist is to counter the revenge they added in mecha but most players dont have the added revenge yet

If it was linear then the casualties with 70% resist would be 27% not 27.89% its a small difference but basically a multiplicative formula is close to linear for low numbers and the higher your resist goes the less effective the extra resist gets

on the screenshots from the guide, the revenge dmg from the defender caused over 1M casualties on the attacker side. this seems impossible, because it appears attacker and defender are on similar troop tier (because they lost similar total might per troop), and even if the defender researched revenge boost, the expected dmg caused by revenge should be around 400-500k, far less than the actual dmg. so, i guess the extra dmg must have been caused by the mecha revenge skill. if so, it seems

• revenge from mecha skill is overpowered.
• revenge res seems to also work against mecha skill.

You definitely put your lineup in shooter formation? Most the time the biggest difference with formations will be ruins. As of the off type adding troops eventually at a certain level doesn't show a difference

They meant that when you send five of the same type of hero in a battle the only four of them activate so people will change the fifth one and send 10 400 of that type of soldier to activate the tactical Skills to do damage of 500% troop attack, but it is 500% of the troop type attack which was riders and they only sent 10 so there was no difference because the number was so small
