Invited a friend to my servers last night and he noted that some of our drops are above 200% qality (I believe our flak boot bp dropped at 324%) and highest should be 200%. I never thought anything of it, but is this the result of the loot % increase from increasing the difficulty? I have it at 1 and 6 for Difficulty and Official Override

Sunstones would be easy, their idea is Ward off predators, with in a radius so could literally make a barrier for predator dinos, which would cause them to flee/ not spawn

Razor reef would just literally be a world barrier but it damages you,

Convo taming not too hard, maybe a minigame? + the taming system

You can also have a different character on a different map and as long as you don't bring them to the same map they'll be fine (but share an obelisk)

leave the offset at 1.0 and just do the override difficulty. override difficulty = 1 , max lvl 30. override difficulty at 5 = 30*5 = 150 max wild level. do 10 = 30 * 10 = 300 max level

Okay, I have to ask, just to find out if there is at the least someone maybe poking around things trying to see what's up, or if I am the only one with this issue.

Now I haven't done a few things, because it's not exactly easy for me to whip up a test map, BUT, here is what I am seeing:

Since the update, the resource use on all of my maps has gone up by at least 2x, some maps 4x. we're pretty sure we have the "size" of the increase tied to water spawns.

I run a dedicated server out of my home specially built for all the Arking around, Server 2019, 128 G of Ram, and it's platform is an i9 10th gen 10 core.

I have tried disabling the event, no change. disabled the fish, no change. I have NOT started pulling mods out (Like I said whipping up a test map isn't quick, and I'm limited on time today because of pesky adulting)

It honestly seems as though the maps are never going into their resting state, and they're always 100% full throttle, which works fine, I guess, but I liked it better when I knew the CPU wasn't running at full tilt all the time.

For those who take the above advice to heart, and are looking for (My personal opinion) a great host with good support and outstanding performance. I used before I went in house with dedicated machines, HostHavoc and honestly, I have nothing but great things to say about those guys.

If you want it running always, it's better to use a hosting service unless you have a machine somewhere you can dedicate to the sever, for example. Or if you want more than a handful of people, you'll probably also want a dedicated machine

So when you move to expert mode there is a warning but I do not recall what it says.

When you go from expert mode to non expert mode, there is a warning but any settings you added to the gameusersettings.ini like infinite structure pickup will be deleted but everything else will stay.

This is cause you do not have access to the full gameusersettings.ini in non expert mode.

Soooo I found out this is a thing at least so far on xbox/win10 servers. Rag, Crystal Isles, and Val so far that I've noticed. The ones that have landed are hard to see and have a matte/pixelated look to them. If you find one that is on the ground but has no beam to the sky, treat it as though the beam is there and it is dropping from the top down. Once it would normally show landed and able to be opened, it will be accessible with the beacon again.

Hey guys, i need some help with my server. I have talked about this everywhere, you guys are my last resort i would really appreciate any help

To summarize, my server only shows up on LAN. Not unofficial. It says "not responding" on steam's servers list. Though since i got a static WAN it's sometimes shown as "responding". Usually right after i open the server but it stops responding right after i try to connect it or reload the page

I use ark manager and also do it the traditional way.

I have static WAN and LAN ips

Tried adding rules on and also disabling the firewall but neither of them helped

@undone fiber ASM will automatically forward the ports within windows (make the firewall rule) but you need to also forward ports in your router. UPNP isn't enough. Find the IP of your host computer and create a port forward rule for that IP in your router config page. Keep your host computer IP on a dedicated LAN IP. You can use a DDNS server/service for your WAN IP if it changes constantly, most people use duckdns. That way you only have to share the DDNS address and not your WAN IP so people can always connect if your WAN IP changes, otherwise they will just have to find the server through ark browser when the WAN IP changes.

My suggestion is getting S+ but maybe doing the option to disable the additional buildings and keep the rest vanilla. Just for a single play through. After that I highly suggest awesome spyglass and just disable the features you dont find fair

Does increasing wild Dino stats reflect tamed stats?

I’ve been thinking about increasing wild Dino stats on my server to make them more of a challenge, but would that make them more op when tamed? Or do they lose stats when tamed if I don’t change the tamed stats?

there are 2 types of increase in stats via level
1 - tamed level, which is a % increase in the stat, the % is decided by the value of the stat after taming (so it's like simple interest)
2 - wild level, which is a set value added onto the stat

Alright I recommend downloading an application called Beacon since it can be linked directly to your sever.

So whatever you edit on the app, it will apply those settings to your server, so chances of making mistake is slim.

Stasis is an Unreal Engine mechanic which stops the code loop for actors (structures, dinosaurs) that are not actively doing something and are not near any players.

As a result, the actors that are in stasis will stop their normal functioning and cease to use server resources. They will not move, in case of dinosaurs, and no physics will be calculated around them. Dinosaurs will not lay eggs, wander, gather resources, or have their statistics dropped. However, upon exiting stasis, dinosaurs will resume what they were doing, and their food drop will be calculated and applied. In the case of structures, they will be loaded and physics will be applied again.

Approaching an area will cause all actors in the area to leave stasis, which could cause some bugs, as creatures are loaded before structures are. Thus a dinosaur in the fifth floor of a building could fall to the ground because it is loaded before the floor it was standing on is loaded.

Mod question. I want to play single-player and am looking to use KBD and Dino Storage. I'm looking for a mod to assist with taming. I want to keep kibble relevant, so just adjusting taming rates doesn't feel right to me. Instead, I'm looking for something that really just speeds up the process of taming, while keeping the cost to tame comparable. Any advice?

Not like leaving it in the ark and it deletes but like you log off one moment and two hours later log back and it unlinks your character and you have to create a new one completely? Gportal says it’s wildcards fault but I want to ask if it’s possible that it could be gportal?

You can use bushberry seeds as currency, just have to add them to drops or dinos, without other players having to download anything. Most mods players will have to download as well.
